MaintStar CMMS Review
Commentaires : Maintstar CMMS has allowed us to know what's going on with our critical assets. We have been able to successfully monitor potential issues, maintenance cost, and future labor requirements. We have been able to integrate the software with our financial system as well as GIS.
Avantages :
The software is easy to use, can be customized, though really not necessary. Is designed to fit the type of industry.
Inconvénients :
All software companies strive to make improvements, however I do not have any Cons about MaintStar CMMS.
Excellent Business Value - Thoughtful and Easy to Use Tool - Responsive and Smart Customer Service
Commentaires : The MaintStar software is heavily utilized by staff on a daily basis, and since implementation years ago, it has elevated our competence, performance and productivity as a workforce. We feel smarter about the forces that affect our operations and feel equipped to make sound decision that bring great value to our effort and how we serve our citizens. It was really reassuring that we had MaintStar in place as a tool to fully document all our work activities pertaining to the 2017 Hurricane Irma storm event. The documentation effort not only captured detail on tasks such as, craftsmen dispatched, hours, dates, equipment used, contractors hired, street address locations, problem/action classifications but also warehoused photograph documentation of the damages incurred. The work orders generated for each emergency activity played an instrumental role in securing cost reimbursements from FEMA.
Avantages :
Diligent and Well-Guided Implementation Experience Ease and practical for users with little computer skills Smart workflow between screens and lots of capability to automate and streamline operating processes GIS interface enables a visual approach to asset maintenance, management and work order creation Outlook interface streamlines the flow of communication between workgroups Overall integration across the public services operating units On-Demand Reports are smartly sufficient and covers about 85% capture of information needed to diagnose and make operational decisions; Report querying capability is robust and really flexible to slice and dice data for more sophisticated analysis as well as flexible in reporting output/formats
Inconvénients :
The "set-up" work to automatically schedule PMs on assets and asset groups is a multi-step process that requires a lot of thoughtfulness to ensure that it works and complements the operations. The challenge here is once the operation turns the PM auto schedule on, it may overwhelm the work order service fulfillment process if proper staffing levels or capabilities aren't in place. I wish this process was overall easier and I also wish we, as an operation, were in a position to fully take advantage of this powerful capability. The silver lining to this, however, is that the software is flexible and agile to accommodate varying business models and workflow priorities.
IT Perspectives
Commentaires : Mostly we are trying manage our maintenance activities. Accessibility is the most critical part and this new version will provide our staff with greatly enhanced usability. We are excited for the new version.
Avantages :
What I like most so far is Maintstar's commitment to helping us migrate from an existing version to the new version. Most importantly, the new version is cloud based which will provide us with great reliability and availability.
Inconvénients :
As we are still in the implementation phase there is not much I can add right now.
MaintStar CMMS
Commentaires : MaintStar has the unique feature to be able to manage assets at the "asset level" individually or groups (preventative maintenance, repairs, replacements, abandonments) and manage the performance of your maintenance team that are in charge of ensuring preventative maintenance is getting accomplished. Mesa Water just recently updated all of our assets for our water system and plant, developed PM schedules and SOP's, and tied it all in to the Work Planning & Budget module. Mesa Water has great employees that care about our mission to provide local, reliable, and high quality water to our ratepayers. The hard work that they accomplish and the services each department provides is clearly reflected through MaintStar!
Avantages :
Mesa Water's primary area of need was having the ability to plan work, then track and measure results. This provides us the power to actually "manage" all of our work efforts. We have implemented MaintStar district-wide with all departments reporting. This software is a critical to providing our KPI's to our Board of Directors. MaintStar also allows us to understand our workload and staff accordingly. This has is the primary reason we are the most efficient water district in Orange County, CA.
Inconvénients :
The lack of mobile capability. But, this is being addressed with the upcoming MaintStar15 which is a complete re-build from the ground up. We are looking forward to implementing this Fall and launching the mobile platform.
