Avis sur Lexis
Excellent Product
Commentaires : Excellent
Avantages :
It is more affordable and does the same thing and the web-based functionality.
Inconvénients :
Excellent product but should include more modules.
Lexis Advance is the Second best Search Tool
Commentaires : If I wasn't using Casetext I would use this as my second choice. If I had a more broad based practice it might be good but the pricing was more mid-size firm than solo practice. and it was always increasing. it is good so I don't want this sound like it is a faulty program. for my $ I can get the same for less.
Avantages :
I subscribed to Lexis Advance for many years. I enjoyed how it was associated with a browser search style. I thought it was very good at performing a deep search and was user friendly. The basic search subscription was mid-range for pricing and for a lot of legal work was easy to assign to specific clients for reimbursement. I like the depth of the search and the library you could search from was unparalleled. itis a great program for a large firm that can afford the overhead. I had some nice features for brief drafting and Sheppard was easy
Inconvénients :
The price was too much for the amount of searching I was doing. It was cumbersome at the time for downloads and printing. I would have to pay for specialty libraries, and I could find some of those items for free with a simple google search.
Not Worth the Money
Commentaires : Just was too expensive.
Avantages :
The identifying of cases overruling parts of the decision is very good.
Inconvénients :
Almost too much emphasis cases overruling. Ended up spending a great deal of time searching through these cases only to find is was overruling some other insignificant issue.
Fine Product, Be careful
Commentaires : I was happy with the product. Customer service is not interested because they have lots of new attorneys graduating to replace you. I struggled when payments ballooned and Lexis would not work with me to get it corrected.
Avantages :
Solid product. Lexis has been in the game a long time. The product is a very good product. Top tier product and Lexis seems to work towards new products to assist with legal research
Inconvénients :
You must be very careful with the sales aspect. Read all the fine print and don't overestimate your future earnings. Usually Lexis will offer a very reduced price for a year or two but then your monthly payment balloons. If you are secure in your ability to pay then don't worry as much. I do feel it is expensive for what you really use - kind of like many phones - lots of extras that you just end up not using.
Excellent Resource for Researching Current and Historical Addresses, Phone Numbers, and Relatives
Commentaires : I mainly use Lexis as the first resource for researching addresses, phone numbers and relatives, since it is the quickest way to come up with the historical data and relationships. Then I cross verify the results with other resources.
Avantages :
The ability to look up phone numbers, current and historical addresses, and the addresses of relatives and associated persons, as well as business registration information.
Inconvénients :
Results can be messy and confusing with multiple people showing up. Filtering down is a necessity. The philanthropic searches are not as up to date or comprehensive as other software.
