5 years of extensive and "joyful" experience with Geotab. Resource material galore & user friendly!

Commentaires : Currently, we are looking into the ability to locate a driver by employee ID when they go "off duty "in HOS.
Previously, in 2021, the Geotab customer service representative who oversees the company account conducted an onsite training/refresher with the DOT team at which time the DOT manager inquired about a way to separate light duty vehicles from regulated tractors this was a time-consuming stressor. The inquiry was addressed and resolved that same day! Huge time and money saver for the company! Geotab has stellar customer service from the initial inquiry, the resolution and always a follow up for any feedback the customer may want to provide. In person, a phone call , or an email ..Geotab will take great care of you .

Avantages :

The plethora of resources that Geotab offers are outstanding! Geotab resources include YouTube (check out Wild Card Wednesdays, subscribe to their blog, their online community, newsletters, webinars, how-to videos and more! The resources are what I like and admire most.

Inconvénients :

Honestly, I cannot state that I have any cons. I suppose I can admit that it takes a minute to adjust when my interface changes. Human nature, not a software con.

My path using MyGeotab

Avantages :

Solid infrastructure and vision for the future, that allow innovation

Inconvénients :

Besides the company has huge experience and capabilities, it is not easy to learn from solid success cases. It looks like when we face new challenges, these are new challenges for Geotab too. However, sometimes someone at other latitudes already found a solution.

Geotab has fallen behind their competition

Commentaires : I felt like I was working with an out of date software.

Avantages :

GPS tracking was accurate and but without camera capabilities at the time, it felt very limited.

Inconvénients :

The customer UI was atrocious, and the entire software felt needlessly bulky.

Great fleet management software

Commentaires : It doers the job well. We use it mostly for fleet location alone at this point, but I can see value in the other features it offers and look forward to implementing them,

Avantages :

Relatively simple to use and has tons of features. Many of those features we don't use yet, but we are excited to roll them out in the future. Integrates with our Outage Management software.

Inconvénients :

Sometimes changes to filtering doesn't seem to take effect until you do a shift-refresh of the web page. Some of the administration screens could benefit from a makeover to make hem more usable.

A leader in GPS & Fleet Management.

Commentaires : The biggest issues before was having a reliable service provider that gives top of the line data. A near 0% failure rate on hardware with consistent communication on updates has been a gem in the Fleet Management industry.

Avantages :

The features that stand out are- OBD connected vehcile data, collision reconstruction & the g sensor for driver behaviour insights.It gives businesses real data that are important to making insightful fleet actions

Inconvénients :

The biggest issue may be the wait time for the product development team to implement any feature requests. While it's understood it has to be evaluated and seen feasible for all users Some requests take long.For example: Adding more currencies to represent the LATAM & Caribbean Regions.

Knowing where your trucks are at all times

Commentaires : I was using gps trackers on our drivers phones and realized they were turning them off making up reasons why they were not working but after we started putting the trackers on the trucks themselves I feel very confident we get our monies worth out of our drivers everyday .

Avantages :

We love the live GPS tracking system with all the tools that comes with that makes it hard for drivers to go off course and waste time and gas .

Inconvénients :

I have not found anything I dont like we are a fairly small company and dont need all the management tools but I can see how they could help in larger companies with many trucks on the road .

Product review for Geotab

Avantages :

Geotab provides a range of benefits, starting with its flexibility in creating rules and reports. Installation is straightforward, making the product user-friendly from the get-go. What's more, it's versatile enough to be applied across various industries. Notably, its integration with Surfsight and Mobileye stands out as a strong point.

Inconvénients :

The user interface can be quite complicated, which might pose a challenge for some users. Additionally, there's no built-in engine for creating reports within the platform - you're limited to Excel reports. Managing a large fleet of vehicles (over 1000) can be difficult, specifically in terms of editing and filtering. The level of technical support leaves much to be desired, with long resolution times and feedback that often lacks in-depth analysis of the problem and potential corrective measures. Finally, there seem to be communication issues between the GO devices and vehicles from the Stellantis platform.

The best solution to manage your fleet

Avantages :

GPS tracking and engine measurements are easy to understand and can be used by almost anyone with minimal knowledge of the platform. The ease of downloading a report is amazing. It helps to avoid serious future damage to our unit through the easy interpretation of failures. In addition, the rules and exceptions are ideal to understand the habits of drivers and improve their driving.

Inconvénients :

The explanation of the different modules when hovering over them is quite simple and does not fully describe the functionality of the module.

Geo Tab Review

Avantages :

Geo Tab does a great job with tracking and giving our company a pathway to success when operating a fleet of vehicles.

Inconvénients :

Map features and better icons. The customer service is great once you get two tier two level. The 1st tier level needs improved.

More than a good product, it is a good service

Avantages :

Basically the geotab app is useless if you don't buy its product, but once you have the GPS product it is a great fleet management tool, it has reports, alerts, notifications and helps with real statistics on the behavior of my vehicles.

Inconvénients :

There are large functionality and appearance updates very often.

Submenus are often hidden , difficult to emulate ELD software

Commentaires : This has been a great tool that I have come to rely upon in many ways.

Avantages :

This tool is such a great resource for compliance verification. Vehicle grants require specific usage to stay eligible and in good standing. I am able to run a report of miles to submit to vehicle donor. Recently, one of our departments failed to log trips. I printed a report to help them fill in the blanks! Lifesaver!

Inconvénients :

Deciphering what each report means is the most complicated task for me.

Great Support

Avantages :

I absolutely love the support we get from our local representatives like [SENSITIVE CONTENT] , [SENSITIVE CONTENT] . Any issue that arises is always resolved in a matter of hours or days. Thank you for your hard work.

Inconvénients :

False vehicle idle reports. Example, vehicle shows that it idled for a minute at 3 am on a Saturday. I get an email and immediately think the truck is getting stolen.

Great asset for what we do!

Avantages :

Easy access and great reporting for our team.

Inconvénients :

Sometimes speeding reports show assets in an area that could not be doing that speed.

Quick Implementation/No Contract

Commentaires : If you are looking for a quick and easy ELD with no commitment Geotab is your huckleberry. If you want a pretty highly captivating platform that will engage drivers and staff no so much. It menu based not icon based which is hard for users in this ultra clicky world.

Avantages :

No contract!!! Hardware is inexpensive and implementation is quick. And no commitment. It’s cheap enough you can keep a couple extra on hand just in case. Which is nice.

Inconvénients :

It’s not as user friendly as other platforms. It gets the job done but has a bear bones feel. There is a lot of functionality but you have to dig. If you aren’t a big company you don’t get your own customer rep. So you just leave a message and wait for the sales rep to call back. Ours was super responsive but it would all depend on his work load.

Avantages :

I love the IFTA, HOS logs, and maintenance logs as they are easy to use and understand.

Inconvénients :

The dashboard is a little cluttered but and sometimes it takes multiple clicks to get to something.

So far it is Okay

Commentaires : We have only been using this software for a few months and it has a hard learning curve. It could be great with some updating.

Avantages :

I like the fact that it is very easy to see where my drivers are at any time. I like that you can see when the drivers are speeding or harsh braking. I like that we have the ability to go back and track where a driver has been.

Inconvénients :

I am not crazy about the reports section of the software. It is hard to navigate and hard to understand. My Geotab needs to take a serious look and the ease of utilizing all of the software, not just the map portion.

Cool Functions. Bad Customer Support.

Avantages :

The software is explanatory and we are able to monitor everything we want to in regards to drivers and vehicles. We can set up alerts and notifications, about things that happen, to keep us on track with our safety goals.

Inconvénients :

We have been trying to get our accounts merged into a single master account for over a year. No matter how often we reach out or try to move forward we still don't see progress.

False positives

Avantages :

I like to track vehicles and see alerts for when drivers are breaking the rules.

Inconvénients :

A bunch of false positives from slamming doors and the system thought the vehicle was in a crash. Also speeding false positives when gps signals bounce from tower to tower.
