Solid choice for connecting your church family!

Avantages :

Once you get used to the dashboard settings, it is surprising how creative you can get with the design of the app, without sacrificing a professional look. We love the many available features such as developing a custom Bible reading plan, accessing our Google Calendar of events, and the ability to quickly and easily give online. We've taken advantage of the Media server, and upload all our messages, complete with PowerPoint Slides, Sermon Notes and Bible Study curriculum. It is a significant tool for our church family to not only stay in touch with what's happening at the church, but to assist them in their discipleship journey with reading and study. I also give Subsplash top marks for their technical support. I receive very quick and helpful replies, always delivered with a friendly attitude.

Inconvénients :

The software seems to be fairly robust, but it is a bit slow in starting up, and there is a slight delay when making updates. There is a bit of a learning curve in understanding the Dashboard. I feel the team has done a great job in general at making it as accessible as possible, but there are still a couple of things that I would not consider intuitive (such as working with the menu system, lists, and media series). The custom Bible reading feature is great, but I wish we had access to other translations beyond ESV.

All-inclusive Media Delivery For Churches

Commentaires : Overall Subsplash has been a great tool for my church. We are very media focused (delivering videos each week to our home groups). And with our multiple media categories, Subsplash makes it easy to deliver on our app and on over-the-top TV boxes like Apple TV and roku.

Avantages :

The app is simple to set up and their team helps you follow all the steps to put it on the App Store. The app is easy to use and customizable enough for all church needs. Uploading media and information is simple, and it's seamlessly added throughout the platform, from the app to the website. The website, while simple, is still very powerful and gives your church a great online presence. When you have multiple sermons, sermon series, informational and educational media, the media player is second to none. Your videos are searchable, archived with great organization, and playable on any device. Giving is very straightforward and very easy for the donor, while giving enough administrative features to make the back-end useful. Lastly there are a suite of features that enhance your online presence. From fill-in-notes to event management to messaging, Subsplash delivers almost everything a church needs to be a relevant, media powerhouse.

Inconvénients :

Subsplash comes with a hefty price tag that is a large investment for churches. And while most of the features are what churches need, some will find limitations on the platform such as tweaking the app and website to look exactly like you want.

Avantages :

Subsplash purchased "The Church App", so I never choose Subsplash. I am unhappy and disappointed with the quality of support.

Inconvénients :

Its a hit or miss and when its a miss don't expect prompt or even knowledgeable support.

Commentaires : Overall, Subsplash is a great product to help you and your organization keep up with the times, especially in this fast-paced world we currently live in. They have the ability to help you create and link a phone apps and websites together along with other third party sites and/or software to help you achieve your marketing goals for your organization.

Avantages :

Subsplash is pretty user-friendly and you have the ability to manage many features of your app, your website, even our church's giving platform all through Subsplash, and it integrates very well across devices.

Inconvénients :

There was a point in time where we struggled to get updates for our app but Subsplash was very good at handling our needs and helped us get everything moving again.

Commentaires : Customer service is great. Not usually able to directly speak with technicians but on the billing and basic questions side, someone was almost always available.

Avantages :

The ease of use and UX is great. Easy to get app updated pushed to all users and build out was a breeze!

Inconvénients :

The cost of the app was pretty high. Especially since there is very little customization apart from text and images. Anything that I wanted to develop or add I either had to find a workaround (build a website to load within the app) or just not have. Got frustrating after a while.

Good App & Web design

Commentaires : It is nice we haven't had it long, so still learning and experimenting with it. But it has updated our website to look much better and the app is a plus.

Avantages :

The modern look and the ease of doing an app and website all in one place. It also has livestream built in.

Inconvénients :

I feel like support is subpar and could be improved as well as the app and website talking to each other so you don't have to do things twice.

Subsplash makes mobile apps easy!

Avantages :

We've used Subsplash for our church's app for years now. Here's the deal, while other custom app builders may be appealing to not lock you into a box on design, no one will give you the support staff or custom attention like these guys. They DO offer many templates and such for mobile apps, so the box is large, but it is still a template based system (box). But if you don't want to custom code your own app, you are going to land in a box somewhere. This is the best I've seen yet. On top of that, they have giving platforms, podcast platforms, etc... and if you need something they don't have, just ask! They are open to feedback and have (numerous times) created solutions that didn't exist before because we asked for them. Great people. Great products.

Inconvénients :

If I have to find a negative here, I'd say... the mobile app templates are totally usable and such, but aren't the prettiest or most custom in the world. Admittedly this is probably on us for not spending more time on ours. :-P I've seen some great apps on the platform and a large portion of ours not being stellar is on us.

Custom app quality without the hassles

Commentaires : We decided 3 years ago to create an app for our church to enhance the weekend service experience, and to expand our outreach to the global audience of app users. Subsplash enabled us to do both — at a very reasonable price. We had an ambitious vision for the functionality that would be included, so we originally considered using a custom app developer. But ultimately we landed on Subsplash because of the great work they had done for other large church clients. I am SO glad we did. Our experience has been excellent. If you are a church, I recommend their app product without reservation.

Avantages :

Subsplash gives us a top quality app product at a price point that is doable for churches. They do all the work behind the scenes to continually improve the user experience and submit updates to all the major app platforms. They are constantly rolling out new features. Our congregation especially loves the Fill-In Notes feature. It has enabled us to provide the message outline each week, with space to type in your own notes. The online dashboard is easy to use; we are able to have a volunteer make all the weekly updates to the message library and outlines.

Inconvénients :

Working within a template structure, by definition, limits the functionality and layout options available. While we are unable to incorporate all the bells and whistles we'd like, Subsplash has been responsive to our requests and factored them into some of their updates.

No Substitute for Subsplash

Avantages :

The ease of the backend interface for the website platform and the mobile app version is superb.

Great but not perfect

Commentaires : Great company that offers a great product with friendly, helpful, knowledgeable support staff

Avantages :

Their mobile app is second to none. That is by far their greatest strength. All their features are very user friendly, simple functions which allow you to learn the procedures quickly. Very helpful and friendly tech support

Inconvénients :

They are still a very young company so some of their products are still in the developmental stages. Their website for instance as well as their on-line giving platform lacks some needed features. Scheduling a tech support call is sometimes a pain because their availability is often limited for a day or two out.

Subsplash for Churches

Commentaires : Overall, we liked working with Subsplash and we are still using it for our website and media management. Our goal is to move away from it soon but the experience as a whole was not bad. The reason I started looking to move was a $40 a month jump in our price from one month to the next.

Avantages :

We really enjoyed our time with Subsplash. We signed for a two year contract and ended up staying with them longer. The app building and website building portion of their product were intuitive and easy to use. The amount of customization we could have on our own custom branded app was great. I found it far better than most other companies that were offering the same thing.

Inconvénients :

One of the main things I did not like about Subsplash was their tendency to charge for every small add on. I know that there are many companies that do that and we are technically paying more now than we were with Subsplash. With Subsplash though there was no trial periods or no option to drop a service if you found you weren't using it. If you signed up for it you were stuck with it whether or not it fit your ministry.

Easy to Use but Pricey Fees

Commentaires : From an easy to implement online giving solution, this is probably the easiest and geared toward churches, however due to the fees, we are investigating other options that integrate well with our CMS package.

Avantages :

Subsplash is very easy to implement and train the users on basic operations, whether for one-time giving or recurring. Integrating the links into the webpage and apps was simpler than other options.

Inconvénients :

The transaction fees are still higher than competitors even with their GrowCurve option. We have yet to see a decrease in our fees after years of use.

Subsplash-Overall Review

Commentaires : The package has increased our online giving. The app is easy to use, the user can schedule an automatic transfer on a weekly, monthly or whatever basis. It's also been mostly "error free." I've had very, very few issues administrating this program.

Avantages :

It's pretty user friendly all in all. I had very little formal training on the administration of this software package, but could maneuver and find most everything I've needed. The associated app is equally user friendly. Overall, the software works and works well.

Inconvénients :

This may be an across the board issue with online giving software packages, but...there is a "lag" between the time a person makes a contribution and the time it shows up in our bank. They send one weekly batch transfer (Wednesdays). This batch will not include EVERY contribution made the prior week. In fact, it doesn't even have all the contributions made up to 2+ weeks prior. So, again, there is a lag issue. A giver may make a contribution on the 1st day of a month, but it won't get transmitted to our bank until 2 weeks later. I know this is due to how online banking functions work though I don't understand the details. All I know is I would rather get ALL of our contributions in a more timely fashion.

Subsplash as a Giving Platform

Commentaires : Our communications department really wanted to use Subsplash for the quality of their app and ability to upload sermons in a quality way. I needed a reasonable giving platform. Subsplash has been a really good move for us.

Avantages :

The process for switching to Subsplash as our giving platform was made as easy as possible by the support team. The platform is quite intuitive to navigate and has integrated well with Planning Center Giving overall. Our communications team has been thrilled with the ease of building and modifying our church app and the functionality the Subsplash app has provided.

Inconvénients :

The giving aspect of Subsplash is still being perfected and is not always glitch-free. When users try to modify an existing recurring gift on the day the gift is scheduled, we have had a number of instances of both the old and new gift occurring on that day. The good news is that refunding a gift couldn't be any easier and the customer service responsiveness has been amazing when we've needed them.

A Very Pricey Mistake

Commentaires : We tried Subsplash to improve communication with our congregation and community, and to upgrade our web presence. But we improved our website more in 2 hours with some WordPress changes than we accomplished in almost 3 frustrating weeks of working with Subsplash. And since Subsplash never went live, there was no improvement in our communication with our community.

Avantages :

Subsplash brings multiple functions like giving, website and messaging under one platform and provides the ability to live stream content.

Inconvénients :

In my opinion, the online demo is misleading to the point of dishonest. Subsplash does no design work; they merely allow you to use their platform to do the work yourself. I did not find the software intuitive and believe it requires a steep learning curve. Some of the same actions (e.g. uploading graphics) have to be repeated multiple times and while we were advertised the ability to live stream, we weren't told ahead of our purchase that when that ability was provided, it would also cost $125 more each month. Support was very slow in responding and their excuse was "we've gotten an influx of new customers right now." Hint: Don't accept a customer's money until you're ready to provide what they're paying for. When we quickly determined the platform wasn't for us, Subsplash refunded only a portion of our total payment and retained $639 of our money, although we had the service for less than one month and were never able to go "live" with the software, not even for one minute.

Avantages :

It looks very professional. The layout is perfect. The giving feature has worked very well.

Inconvénients :

For what we are paying it is extremely glitchy. Then we reach out to customer service who are always kind and professional. However we are constantly told to take pictures and record the glitches. It should not be our job to help you fix your system. It just feels we are over paying. The chat feature is crucial and has not left our church members impressed. Just being honest.

Great app for churches of any level!

Commentaires : It's been incredible. There are other church app development companies out there, but none offer as clean a product as Subsplash. Also, we know other churches who have spent thousands of dollars, and much more time, to develop their own app, ultimately to be back at square one and wishing they had used Subsplash.

Avantages :

Subsplash has developed one of the most user-friendly and affordable app interfaces for churches. We've been using it since 2010, and have always been impressed. The best feature is how easy it is to organize media content, based on series. It allows our attenders to go back and watch any teaching series on their phone. However, it also allows web embeds, which makes it easy to integrate into your website as well.

Inconvénients :

I wish it was a little more all-inclusive in terms of app platform availability. For example, depending what apps you want, you have to pay for it. We have the ios app and Google play app. They have other apps (Apple TV, Roku, etc), but we haven't bit the bullet to access those.

Easy to use with great customer service.

Commentaires : Since most people use and have their smart phones with them, this app has made our communication and connections with our member easy for them and us. The Subsplash team understands our goals and help us to reach those goals. We have had the best experience working with this company.

Avantages :

The great customer service and the ease at which we can update and add items. There are training videos to help you through the process, and a responsive team that answers all our questions. Because of this app and how well it works our members have easy access to podcasts, documents, giving, important links and updates we need to communicate.

Inconvénients :

We wish they had an event registration/purchase feature for this product. We would like to have all online money payments to be under one umbrella and having an event registration would accomplish that goal.

Avantages :

Subsplash is a great company that has a great product (app) that our church has found incredibly useful to help our folks stay connected and a simple way to introduce us to their friends. Their customer service is excellent and they truly value their clients and help champion your organization's mission.

Inconvénients :

There may be some initial setup learning curve for updating info, but it's really intuitive once you get it set up and rolling.

Great app builder, outdated website builder

Commentaires : Overall, Subsplash has been a decent tool for us as a church. It’s easy to make changes to our app, and easy to allow volunteers to do some of the updating as well. Subsplash’s customer support has been very responsive and helpful anytime I’ve needed to contact them, and our app has never had functionality issues.

Avantages :

Subsplash made a very clear approach to getting an app built and published on the major app stores. They use a simple checklist approach to walk the user through the necessary steps, and offer support along the way as needed. It’s been very easy for our church to use the app builder to publish events, media, and notifications.

Inconvénients :

Subsplash’s website building tool is outdated and offers very little in terms of templates. While it’s nice in theory to manage the app and the website with the same service, we found squarespace much easier and more powerful in terms of managing a website. It also would have been nice to have more templates to choose from for building the app, and the supplied graphics are outdated. The graphics library is also a bit cumbersome to use, as it simply stores all graphics you’ve uploaded, and gives you no way to sort or filter them.

A Happy Subsplash user

Commentaires : Though the subsplash church app we are able to streamline our verbal communication and not make a bunch of announcements we can simply say down load the church app. We have realized increased giving as well

Avantages :

The giving module is amazing and has revolutionized the way we receive offerings. Not only is the method amazing it has also increased overall giving with in our congregation. Also the app does a great job of packaging and communicating information. Our people are hungry for our content and the subsplash app has been a great conduit for that content

Inconvénients :

The thing that we like least about subsplash is the back end of the app. It could be more user friendly and organized better

Commentaires : For what it is used for, it is a very well rounded app. I enjoy its clean layout and the podcasts you can listen to.

Avantages :

I like that different churches or ministries can make a layout of their own. It makes it easier to differentiate between apps by different churches or ministries. I also like th ability to upload and watch video/podcasts. I also feel the article layout can be made very easy on the eyes if the church or ministries does it right.

Inconvénients :

I feel this software is limited. The ministries can only do so much with the app, and users have nothing extra they can do other see what the administrator has uploaded. I feel that when I user maes an account, it is only to save different articles. I wish the user can comment or ask question through the app.

Easy-to-use Media Platform

Commentaires : Their customer service is phenomenal. They are easy to work with and answer questions quickly. The only time we had a technical issue they were on top of it immediately.

Avantages :

Subsplash is a very easy-to-use backend system to host media content. It has allowed me to host all of our audio and video content and push the content through multiple channels including a new app, a website, and on-demand channels (Roku and Apple TV).

Inconvénients :

One of the only things I have found so far that I don't care for is their branding on multiple pages. They need a Whitelabel option.

why not just use a responsive website?

Avantages :

The dashboard interface is user friendly and relatively easy to navigate. You can enter a calendar feed so you don't have to update another calendar separately. They are adding some new location based notification features that sound kinda fun, but haven't looked into what they cost.

Inconvénients :

I generally only download apps if they have a feature that I can't get through the website. I have apps for messaging, taking pictures, and locating family. I have an app for my credit union so I can deposit checks. But, I don't quite get this one. We put the same content on it that we also want to put on the website, and I've found our regular website generally loads faster than the app, at least on my phone. Apparently, people are using it (wish there were more stats available about usage), but honestly I only open it to check and make sure it looks right.

Straightforward app development option for churches

Avantages :

I appreciate that Subsplash has the app setup and launch process down and makes it very easy for churches of any size to get started sharing content via a mobile app.

Inconvénients :

I wish the apps had more features and functionality but understand most of that would come at increased complexity and cost.
