Rippling recently admitted that a system bug caused employees to be paid overtime and double overtime that they never worked. This was not user error—it was a failure in their payroll calculation logic. We were then instructed to recover those funds from employees, placing the burden and risk on us for a mistake we did not make. This alone is unacceptable. But it’s part of a larger pattern. We have experienced repeated system failures, including: Incorrect, system-generated paychecks during offboarding PTO and time-off miscalculations affecting final wages Broken workflows creating duplicate or unintended payments Benefits enrollment errors leading to compliance risks Severe system delays (up to 45 minutes for basic actions) Support has been equally frustrating. We’ve been passed between teams with no clear ownership or resolution. Issues remain unresolved while operations are disrupted. These are not minor bugs—these are fundamental failures in payroll and compliance. A platform handling employee wages should not operate at what feels like a beta level. While Rippling acknowledged the payroll error and partially covered costs, they refused to take full responsibility, leaving us to manage the consequences with our employees. If payroll accuracy, compliance, and reliability matter to your business, we cannot recommend Rippling.
