Avantages :

J'utilise ce logiciel depuis plus de dix ans dans le cadre de mon travail. Il est très simple d'utilisation, intuitif et complet. Il est possible de paramétrer l'interface pour donner plus de couleurs au logiciel.

Inconvénients :

Il n'est pas possible d'utiliser tous les langages avec le logiciel (ex Java, PHP, ....).

Easy Oracle access

Commentaires : I work as developer for one of the oracle project and running oracle from command prompt is a pain. Specially writing big SQL procedures and functions of 1000 plus lines. Toad is a savior for us.

Avantages :

1. Very easy in use for technical as well as non technical users. 2. You can view the table in easy table format. 3. You can describe the tables without writing any sql queries. 4. Formatting of SQL queries are exceptional. 5. You can export the data in excel and other formats.

Inconvénients :

It needs a good RAM data. It makes your system slow when you use the software as it has plenty of features. Even sometimes it crash it freeze whole windows.

SQL Development, tuning and testing

Avantages :

Commonly used SQL code color coded for ease of writing very fine formatted code.

Inconvénients :

Expectations to know how to modify ODBC connections and TNSNAMES

A Great tool that DBA and developer can not live without

Commentaires : TOAD is a great tool that benefit my daily life as oracle DBA. I can easily browse any database objects and pull DDLs from database. TOAD is easy to setup and use

Avantages :

this software is easy to upgrade, configure and install

Inconvénients :

the performance analyzing is not as good as the database itself. TOAD does not generate accurate exeuction play for oracle

Toad for Oracle is my go to!

Commentaires : My overall experience is that Oracle for Toad is the preferred tool to use for Oracle database developers and Administrators.

Commentaires : My overall experience is very good, as this software meets my most of the requirements, It helped me performing my day to day tasks quickly.

It is very easy to use specially when it comes to day to day operations likeWorking with Database connections is simple. Simple user interface Powerful Debug ToolsExcellent plan breakdowns Outstanding customer service and training. Generating scripts for table/procedures etc is very simple.Simple access to various instances and schemas. Monitoring capabilities for running packages.

Inconvénients :

This tool meets almost all of my requirements. I mostly need more time to get in and take advantage of its current features.

The Cadillac of Database Softwares

Commentaires : Essentially all database oriented tasks can be completed on a much quicker level.

Avantages :

Out of all the database related softwares that I have used, toad is the absolute best. You can connect to multiple databases with ease. There are honestly too many feature to list but some of the most useful are: Toad Script Runner, export dataset (especially insert statements), single object compare, etc.

Inconvénients :

The only real complaint that I have with Toad is that once and awhile, it "loses" its place in memory and then tabs from that database connection cannot be closed. This means the entire instance needs to be shutdown in order to get rid of the errant tabs.

This should be your default sql application

Commentaires : All our team members are using it for our database needs. We can create views and execute them in matter of seconds. We tried other tools but nothing compares to it. This should be no brainer to use if you have to write sql and access databases.

Avantages :

It's easy to install and start using. It can store your database credentials so that you don't have to remember them the second time. You can format your sql code for better readability. You can even use to create tables and import data by gui.

Inconvénients :

The error messages thrown can be more descriptive and clear. The first time setting up of the database requires opening and editing the tnsnames.ora file.

Toad for MYSQL is the best database management tool I've ever used.

Avantages :

Free to use with MYSQL. Easy to navigate and use after an initial learning curve. The UI is clean and easy to understand.

Inconvénients :

Overall function can be intimidating with no "UNDO" button. Pressure from Quest to switch to Toad Edge but with major changes and lack of automation in the free version.

Not bad for the price.

No complaints. Compared to other databases that I have used, I would say it holds it's own.

Avantages :

È il tool più universalmente utilizzato per il DB Oracle, ha potenzialità infinite ed è molto stabile e non presenta problemi di scalabilità e di compatibilità. E' anche molto flessibile e utile nell'accuratezza delle query, nell'analisi e nella visualizzazione dei dati.

Inconvénients :

Per l'utente dovrebbe mostrare le funzionalità minime sullo schermo e non tutte le funzionalità. Toad ha molte funzionalità, ma la maggior parte degli utenti ne utilizzerà solo 5 o 10 in base al proprio ruolo. Nessuno ha bisogno di tutte le funzionalità e dovrebbe fornire la possibilità di scegliere solo le funzionalità richieste. Solo i requisiti minimi dovrebbero essere abilitati per impostazione predefinita. Quando vengono mostrate tutte le funzionalità, le prestazioni non sono buone; si carica lentamente e ha centinaia di popup e domande inutili.

Toad for Oracle Financials

Commentaires : TOAD is very easy to use and makes it easy to pull data from Oracle Financials which is my main use of the tool. I use the tool daily. Using the tool, I can look at tables and pull data from multiple tables. I can also use Toad when working with Developers to review code or trouble shoot new code when working on enhancements. Toad allows users to use very simple or complex code

Avantages :

Easy to use for pulling data from Oracle financials. This is easy to use when running queries or looking for table and record information. Shortcut keys make this even easier to use. It is very easy to change display colors to make the output easier to read. Data is very easy to export to Excel. Toad is useful for strong power users to novice users who are just learning SQL. Toad can be set up to connect to multiple environments.

Inconvénients :

The application can be cumbersome to set up / install if you have to do it yourself. Most of the time the application has been installed on my computer, so I only have to enter the product key. Make sure to select SAVE PASSWORD so you do not have to constantly re-enter the password

Best database developer tool

Commentaires : I have been using Toad (Oracle/MySQL) for years now. But Toad is not very much good for Non Oracle/MySQL databases. This tool has helped me lot in my database related work. This is an essential for a DBA

Inconvénients :

+Hard to decide which version to install (too many versions) + Licensing is complex due to too many versions + Pricing is bit higher

Commentaires : It's a great tool, if your company can pay for the license it's a great tool to analyze data and extract data from the Oracle database

Avantages :

One of the features I love about tode is the capability of exporting data and masking it before generating the output. It's pretty fast when navigating through the database objects

Inconvénients :

I think it should be simpler in its GUI, the graphic interphase is convoluted. I installed it many times and there's a mouse cursor lag issue that still persists.

Easy integration of data. I use this tool for SQL server and write SQL queries. Better code template than other competitors. Simplified debugging process.

It is a high cost tool. Version change is too frequent.

Efficient database tool for developers!

Commentaires : The tool is very useful and writing queries using toad has been much easier. Toad offers wide range of features like data import, export, monitor, optimize and debugging which are quite helpful.

Avantages :

The tool is simple to use and has all the functionalities that are required for the developers. It is easy to search database objects from the schema browser window. It is possible to connect multiple connections containing multiple editors. In addition, the import and export feature facilitates to get data in a very formats like CSV. Just with a single click, you can perform powerful and complex commands in no time.

Inconvénients :

Having multiple sessions at a time makes it too annoying for me. As a result, it becomes slow and gets stuck in the "No response" state. It is crucial to have technical know-how, otherwise it can harm your database. And, it is bit expensive tool!

Avantages :

TOAD es un entorno de desarrollo para los que nos dedicamos a las bases de datos, es un gran alido ya que eleva la productividad de nuestra area aportando confianza, eficiencia y eficacia.

Inconvénients :

En cuanto a funcionalidad creo que no me puedo quejar de TOAD , si he de mencionar algo que pasa son los periodos en los que parece colgarse y en pocas ocaciones esto provoca cierres inesperados.

Toad - Makes my work life easy

Avantages :

After using oracle sql developer, this comes handy in many features - checking the explain plan in readable format, exporting the data including clobs with the respective sql statements, formatting the code, debugging line by line using break points

Inconvénients :

It crashes and hangs sometimes. Not frequently but still it does

TOAD for DB2 the go to for Querying & Creating Tables, Procedures, generating DDL

Avantages :

Fully featured & customizable interface makes it a pleasure to work with.

Inconvénients :

Absence of adopters which ties in the the entry price point of the software. There are cheaper and free solutions that do similar things therefore I feel like in the past decade Toad for DB2 hasn't been well adopted.

it is a super good tool that comes with a price, we call that tool for rich DBAs, I would like to see a cheaper version with less functionalities.

Love the user-friendly interface of Toad for MySql

Has a very user-friendly interface that is not as intimidating as other database management systems can be.

Inconvénients :

I am using the free version of Toad and am pressured to purchase the "newer, better version." Which I understand but it is still annoying as the free version has everything I need.
