Ce que j’aime le plus chez WatchGuard Firebox, c’est sa gamme de fonctionnalités à un prix compétitif. Sa facilité d’utilisation, sa fiabilité et sa protection de sécurité complète sont également des points forts. De plus, l’installation et la configuration sont simples et le support est excellent.

Inconvénients :

Ce que j’aime le moins chez WatchGuard Firebox, c’est que la configuration peut être un peu complexe pour les administrateurs et les paramètres des modules de sécurité sont assez limités. Cependant, ces petits inconvénients sont compensés par les nombreux avantages de ce produit.

Very user-friendly. Tons of features.

Commentaires : Excellent. I have used firewalls and network devices in the past that had horrible web interfaces (or none at all), or didn't offer everything that seemed to be necessary in network and internet filtering and tracking. The Firebox is--for lack of a better word--very enjoyable to use.

Avantages :

Our WatchGuard Firebox has been up and running for years. It has an extremely user-friendly web-based interface, and has plenty of optional "addons" that can be purchased to give you as much or as little control and safety over your network and internet usage as you need.

Inconvénients :

Some steps (like for example, opening up a port to the outside world to go to a specific device on your network) can sometimes feel overly complicated. Maybe it's all necessary, but sometimes there are a LOT of steps that have to be done just to accomplish what seems like a simple goal or task.

Firebox is affordable option for enterprise protection.

Commentaires : The Watchguard Firebox series of routers have captured ease-of-use and affordability in their corner of the enterprise market. Not only do I use a firebox for my home network, but I manage more than a dozen for home and business customers.

Avantages :

The Firebox has web-based and application management features. There is highly-granular control of settings. It has multiple levels of support packages. They also work right of the box for a new network set-up.

Inconvénients :

The Firebox is a little expensive for home users. While they work right out of the box, advanced configurations can be a little daunting for those with minimal network skills.

Powerful but overwhelming

Avantages :

Fireboxes are full-featured firewalls that can protect businesses small, large, and anywhere in between.

Inconvénients :

The interface is difficult to use, whether using the GUI or the management software.

Watchguard the best

Commentaires : I am satisfied with Watchguard products, they are of excellent quality and last over time... customers are satisfied and have a fair price for the market.

Avantages :

The ease in managing the configuration of the various features and the quality of the work that the firewall does. Even in complex realities, you can always manage everything with great ease

Inconvénients :

The distribution part. There should be more distribution partners and be more structured in the territory.

Good for value

Commentaires : In general it does the job. We do not have any big complains. Price to value ratio is high.

Avantages :

It is all in one and has nice and easy interface. I would give 5 stars but there are a couple of minor flows. the best value would be 4.5 stars.

Inconvénients :

You need separate applications to manage the firewalls.

Firebox - Great for migration

Avantages :

Able to migrate firewall configuration with the WatchGuard System Manager (WSM) application.

Inconvénients :

Firewall policy unable to copy and paste thus requires creation or recreation. Challenging for beginners to master firebox usage.

Not really a least as long as they don't force the cloud product and allow for stand alone operations.

Watchguard Firebox is perfect for every setup

Commentaires : I would recommend the Watchguard Firebox for anyone needing a firewall for a single office or multiple offices.

Avantages :

the Watchguard Firebox is easy to setup. Great visualization of rules. Simple VPN and branch tunnel setup. Great integration with both Radius and LDAP.

Inconvénients :

Unable to select or unselect countries from the map view when working with Geolocations

Great choice for a school environment

Easy to configure, strong protection, great features.

Inconvénients :

Sometimes it's a little difficult to get support for this device.

Watchguard has been a great partner!

Commentaires : Their support has always been great. When we find an issue they're always helpful, even in diagnosing the issue as not being firewall related.

Avantages :

Easy to manage, subscription services are fantastic, purchasing is easy and above all we trust them to be secure!

Inconvénients :

Some stuff is not as easy to find depending on what interface you use. I like the desktop app, but some prefer the web gui. I wish the dimensions command server was a little less pricey.

Watgaurd Review

Commentaires : We've used Watchguard for about 15 years now. Good product over all EOL comes quickly, prices are high and support ok.

Avantages :

I like the ease of use, all in one subscription and offline configuration changes. It really is a good product.

Inconvénients :

Technical support has unfortunately gotten worse. They used to be on point you'd call and get an actual tech. Now you get a customer service rep and hopefully get a call back sometime.

Why I prefer Watchguard Firebox for my IT customers

Commentaires : Overall, my experience with these machines has been very good. On the rare occasions when I need to make config changes to one of them, I can do it remotely from the comfort of my home. As I stated before, once configured correctly, these boxes just sit there and do their job. And on the rare occasions when something doesn't seem to be working as it should, Watchguard support is there to get things back on track.

Avantages :

I have several of these boxes deployed at different customer sites, and despite the fact that I have diverse customers (manufacturing, insurance, trading, etc) with different needs, these machines work well in every one of their environments. What I love about these machines is that they are rock solid; once you get them setup and running, they just do the job day after day. At some of my customer locations, we monitor every packet in and out. I have written Powershell scripts that parse the logs every night and email me a snapshot of what happened, alerting me to anything unusual. Honestly, the most exciting thing that has come from this is that I found what appeared to be a memory leak causing the kernel to glitch, but when I opened a support case on this issue, they already had a fix available for it. We just downloaded the update, applied it, and kept on going.

Inconvénients :

While I understand the planned obsolescence (i.e. - Product reaching end of life), this is what I like least about these units. Replacing one of these units involves administrative time, and going on site to replace the old unit with the new one. On the plus side though, one can easily export the configuration of the old unit and import it into the new one and be up and running in no time.

Security and Flexibility Combined

Commentaires : Overall, WatchGuard Firebox provides a robust security solution. The product effectively protects networks from external threats and continuously improves with regular feature updates. Especially the threat detection and prevention systems are highly effective. While the setup process can be a bit challenging, the security and flexibility it offers more than make up for this minor drawback.

Avantages :

What I liked most about WatchGuard Firebox is its advanced security features and user-friendly interface. It offers a wide range of tools and flexible configuration options to enhance network security. Additionally, the regular updates and the prompt response of the support team enhance the product's reliability.

Inconvénients :

The least I liked is that the initial setup can be a bit complex. New users might need some technical support. Also, the updates can occasionally slow down the system for a short period.

Using WatchGuard firewalls for business environments.

Avantages :

Using WatchGuard firewalls for business environments just makes sense. The features and function they deliver for the cost is excellent.

Inconvénients :

I can't say anything bad about WatchGuard. I have used them at home and in business for years.

WatchGuard Firebox review from mid size business

Avantages :

These are very reliable units. Support is pretty good and can be reached over the phone (as long as you have a paid support agreement).

Inconvénients :

Complicated to configure. Yearly required services are pricey.

Watchguard Leads the Way

Commentaires : I have used a variety of WatchGuard Firebox products including: T-10; T-20; T-35; and the T-45 over the past 10 years.

Avantages :

Setup can be tough for the first-time user. It's important to work with tech support to achieve a successful setup the first time.

Very Secure!

Commentaires : Overall, it's been a good experience, but due to the complexity of it, outside IT assistance is a must.

Avantages :

The level of security that it provides our agency.

Inconvénients :

When the firebox comes out of the box with blocking port :80 and https:// once the initial license expires. This stopped our town government office from working for 5-6 hours one day because of this "setting". It should default "open", but yet remind the customer about the licensing.

Once set up, everything runs smoothly

Commentaires : I'm quite satisfied with the product in general. When I look at the competition, they don't necessarily have the same features that I use, which reassures me to stay with Watchguard.

Avantages :

The various analysis services (IPS, AV, Webblocker, etc.) update themselves, so you can trust the product and have peace of mind.

Inconvénients :

The commercial policy that forces you to use the Cloud (Wifi) and you get the impression that they're making their product obsolete with the latest update.

Commentaires : so far 12 Fireboxes deployed, and I love the central console. I have deployed 2 devices with the pre-deployment option and had a few issues, but each and every issue we have had has been swiftly dealt with by WatchGuard support.

Avantages :

Ease of deployment, remote live monitoring, Full feature set, cost, Central management, I loved the fact that I did not need to have a training course to figure out the Firebox.

Inconvénients :

I had to be that person, but.... I honestly do not have any gripes.

Commentaires : In general we are satisfied with WatchGuard Firebox.

Avantages :

WatchGuard offers a full range of features and functionality at a reasonable price when compared to other solutions.

Inconvénients :

We had a difficult time with VOIP integration with Avaya phone system.

Easy use and deployment

Commentaires : I've been using and administering Watchguard devices for over 15 years now. I've used and administered others, SonicWall, Cisco, and more, but I will never recommend any of the others over Watchguard. In the 15 years, and something like 40+ individual devices I've administered, we've only had four with physical issues in all that time. Two of them were past end of life when they died. Wish I could say the same for the off-the-shelf routers our end users have.

Avantages :

Once you have a configuration for a device, you can deploy it to multiple devices, even of different models. With Watchguard System Manager software, you can edit a device configuration offline, without affecting the running firewall. You can even deploy it to a completely different model for testing before applying it to the final production device. This is my favorite feature of Watchguard! My second favorite feature is that you don't *have* to control the device from the web (Watchguard Cloud), but you *can* if you want to. I absolutely *hate* systems that make you use their cloud service for deployment. You know who I'm talking about.

Inconvénients :

It has a little bit of a learning curve compared to some others, though not as much as some of the bigger name brand systems.
