Great Billing Software
Commentaires : Best of all for Automation and Billing.
Avantages :
We have been using WHMCS from 6 years now. It has been the most valuable software to operate our business either from billing to automation of our corn task.
Inconvénients :
Only thing I don't like about WHMCS is their mobile application. It's to much slow and full of bugs. For the well established company like WHMCS that's something that they need to consider about.
Alternatives envisagées précédemment :
It is not perfect but there is nothing better
Commentaires : WHMCS is not perfect but there is nothing better yet.
Avantages :
WHMCS can perform all basic and advanced functions for hosting billing needs. The big advantage is the ability to easily edit and create add-ons using PHP. At the same time, there is good and friendly support.
Inconvénients :
WHMCS is very buggy and some features aren't very well developed.
Good software, often let down by the management and support team
Avantages :
Easy to use and set up, largely just works. Supports a lot of modules and payment gateways and is fairly complete with an extensive feature set.
Inconvénients :
Some things don't work so well or require workarounds, which we've got used to. Poor customer support, often ignore issues or are unwilling to help - have basically ignored a security issue that I reported to them years ago.
Nice solution for selling online virtual services
Commentaires : After a long initial setup, it is fairly easy to use
Avantages :
Great to use to sell web hosting services and have it automatically managed from WHMCS
Inconvénients :
Quite a bit of a lpgn and detailed setup method.
Flexibility, but at a cost
Commentaires : I realize my Cons is a lot longer than my Pros section, don't let me mislead you, we still use it here and I would cautiously recommend WHMCS as long as prospective users understand what they're getting into. All in all it works, it is so widely used that many customers are familiar enough with it that it smooths over the quirks, and it is very *very* flexible and extendable.
Avantages :
Most of the features really do just work, at least if you have an understanding of what WHMCS will and will not do for you. It's flexible, extendable, and for the most part is reasonably well documented. It is great that you can resell tons of different servers all from one WHMCS platform, although they definitely do have their favourites.
Inconvénients :
The support team has been a mixed bag at best. Not every interaction has been negative, but not a lot have been great experiences. One simple example from a little while ago that exemplifies the problem: a WHMCS update broke catastrophically. It turned out to be a minor bugfix (and required security hotfix) used a new PHP function that was not supported on all versions of PHP their website claimed they support. I contacted WHMCS and their only remedy was to upgrade PHP. I know supporting older versions of products is a pain, and they had already announced the next major version would not run on my version of PHP, but this bugfix was specifically still supposed to be supported. There was not even any opportunity to revert to a working version as the upgrade made non-reversible changes to the database schema (restoring a database backup was possible, but this would undo any customer-initiated changes in the days it took to understand what was happening, so this was not viable). Prior to the acquisition (many years ago) their support team was excellent but it has been a hit-or-miss experience of late. End-users (my customers) tend to find the overall experience with the default theme difficult to navigate. Now in fairness I do tend to attract less technical users who need a bit more hand-holding in general, but even simple concepts like paying an invoice are hit and miss whether users figure it out. One example, paying multiple invoices at once generates an extra invoice that
Very powerful, very complicated.
Commentaires : My experience with WHMCS has been largely positive. Once it's setup and running it works very well. The software is under active development and the help files, documentation and forum are very helpful. The support staff are very helpful and the forum usually has the answer to any questions.
Avantages :
The software does virtually everything you need it to do, and with the addition of "addon" modules, WHMCS is very customisable.
Inconvénients :
It is very complicated, with a steep learning curve.
WHMCS - Best invoicing and support software for your hosting business
Commentaires : I use WHMCS for 7+ years now. It makes my invoicing very easy, I can keep up with customers and their billing without spending too much time. The invoice reminders and automatic updates makes my work easier. I am able to add billing items quick, as I finish my work on a project. I can add a billing item to the user next invoice or bill it right away. I mostly use the invoicing features and reports. I may use the support ticket system later on. I am very happy with WHMCS, it saves me time and help me collect payments in a timely manner.
Avantages :
WHMCS offers a variety of features, as billing & invoicing, large number of integrated payment methods, customer support ticket system, integration with CPanel, selling domains and hosting packages to your customers and much more. I like the automatic recurring invoicing the most, including automatic reminder before and after a missed due date. I like the customer ability to pay online, by clicking the link in the invoice email and going to the payment page. It has many useful reports, for specific periods, type of customers, taxed or not and more. I also like that they always improve the software to work with the current version of PHP/MySQL. It is an essential software for my business.
Inconvénients :
Related to functionality everything works fine. The only downside: updating is a bit expensive, 99.95 USD/year.

Hi Lucian, Thanks for taking the time to share your comments. I'm very pleased to hear that WHMCS has the best invoices and support software for your hosting operation for the best part of a decade! We're continuing our history of supporting new technologies by introducing support for PHP 7.3 very soon!
Good Customer Management & Hosting Billing Solution
Commentaires : The main benefit is automation. With a growing company, the small, important tasks can take up your entire day. It's important to trust a reputable software with those tasks so you can focus on your customers.
Avantages :
WHMCS has come a long way in a short amount of time. They seem receptive to user input, which is always a plus for me. Ultimately, it's a well-rounded solution for managing your web hosting business's customers and billing. There are many add-in options by WHMCS as well as third-party developers to help you achieve just about any task, automation, or feature that you may require. The fact that third-party developers are welcome to develop for this software is important to me. I've often hired out to have an add-on module created to my specifications. The support forums are a fantastic resource as well. There are quite a few people who generously offer their time to help each other.
Inconvénients :
The updates can be temperamental, which can get frustrating when you're running a business. It seems to be common for users to wait quite some time before upgrading to the next version, just to make sure the kinks are worked out.

Hi Amber, Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. Customer feedback really is the primary driver of the development of WHMCS, and we like to see that comes across. We look forward to automating your business operations for years to come!
Very efficient, easy to use, easy accounting and great support. Perfect for domains and hosting.
Commentaires :
1. Great GUI. Simple enough to make sure the user has an easy time accessing the many features easily.
2. Great automation options that let the system do most of the 'leg work' and the user's role is limited to only monitoring and so allowing for more time for them to concentrate on marketing of the features.
3. Has adequate security features to allow for secure transactions between the clients and the system with minimal or no exploitation gaps
4. Great notification systems to allow for an automated and easy communication to clients.
Avantages :
Its wide variety of features that allow for many add-ons to the system depending on the users needs. The automation (once setup perfectly) allows users to control and maintain countless products and services easily and efficiently as all the details on specifics are easily accessible from the administrative user accounts. Very efficient accounting features i.e. invoice generation, email setup and SMS feature just to mention a few that once configured with the proper cron jobs allow for easy and professional host-to-client communication. The encryption by IONCUBE ensures very good security on the important files thus thoroughly reducing insecurity issues such as hacking.
Inconvénients :
Most of the best add-ons are not free and require constant renewals. The branding of the system (but this mostly depends on the license purchased). It should consider the uprising businesses (SMEs).

Hi Jimmi, I'm pleased to hear that WHMCS is allowing your business to run efficiently and automatically. Thanks for taking the time to write this review!
Never Again!
Avantages :
I use to believe WHMCS was the Bees Knees until I figured out how limited the software actually is & how support for the platform has completely dissolved.
Inconvénients :
I could write a whole essay on how horrible WHMCS is, unless you're just needing a basic billing/support ticketing system. (Read my Review on SuiteDash) - The support is next to criminal in that you submit a support ticket, then you don't hear back for several days. In addition to that, if you're looking to do almost anything else other than invoicing & support tickets, do yourself a favor & forget it. WHMCS is one of the most limited platforms on the market unless you want to hire a PHP/HTML/CSS professional to make the look & functionality of your WHMCS installation not look like it crawled out of the computer from the Twilight Zone Episode "From Agnis With Love" - STAY AWAY - unless you think you'll be the next big hosting company, then go for it!
easy to customize
Avantages :
Software is easy to use, comes with payment modules ready for easy setup, has a lot of documentations
Inconvénients :
I have no issue with the software as of now, works fine for me
Easy to manage hosting
Avantages :
The software is easy to use while managing hosting and domains in one place
Inconvénients :
The software does not have any free trial and support is a premium service
Billing
Avantages :
Easy to create invoice and send to clients
Inconvénients :
It's also used to create web series for hosting.
Still the best hosting software
Avantages :
WHMCS has an exemplary user interface and good email templates, it is easy to integrate on the server and start selling hosting services
Inconvénients :
The tool is charged depending on the users you expect to have and thus making it more expensive
It's fine for starting businesses
Avantages :
Back in 2014, as I was looking for a CRM platform that could handle hosting customers, WHMCS was the way to go. As my company grew, it was time to invest in add-ons, like integrating Zendesk, Freshdesk and Google Suite reseller portal with our system. ModulesGarden provided us the necessary functionality, but as their policy changed to SaaS, our annual costs raised by over 600%. Without doubt, WHMCS is a great platform. But without the necessary functionality, larger companies will have to invest.
Inconvénients :
Price, design and functionality. The admin panel looks outdated, their price policy has changed and the functionality needs improvement. I definitely recommend WHMCS to other my colleagues, but it's not perfect.

Hi there, I'm pleased to hear that WHMCS has been providing your business automation needs for several years; we pride ourselves on our longevity. Our platform is designed with some specific industries in mind and we have a number of developer resources available which allow it to be extended to meet individual needs. The policies and pricing of external vendors and developers is outside our control. Thanks for taking the time to leave your review!
No longer cares about the customer
Commentaires : WHMCS used to be a good company. They no longer care about their customers though. They're more interested in adding products to Market Connect that they get a cut of the profits than doing what PAYING customers are asking them to. While I used to would have recommended this to everyone, I come closer to viewing it as a cash grab or scam now and would recommend it only to my enemies.
Avantages :
Software used to be awesome and easy to use. It isn't anymore.
Inconvénients :
No longer easy to use. Proper setup alone takes days. Every update breaks every theme for the last 1.5 years. Software's become so bloated less tech savvy customers have a hard time using it. Invoicing system is terrible and requires research to even see what you're paying for.

Hi Clayton, Thanks for your review. With software as powerful as WHMCS, there are a lot of options to consider, so we've made efforts to smooth the learning curve for new users. This takes the form of a setup wizard, new written guides and a setup checklist on the "Setup" menu. The MarketConnect features are another direct result of user feedback to make configuration easier with the added benefit of increasing the profitability and richness of your own product offerings. With one click you can sell new products with a level of automation and cost prices which otherwise would not be available to SMEs. We appreciate that updating custom templates 3 times per year isn¿t the most fun task in the world, but that is necessary when the public and client-facing UI is customizable. To ease this process, we publish full diffs on our GitHub Repro, which you can manually compare or use git to automatically merge changes; meaning templates updates only need take a matter of minutes.
Open sourced billing software that works for more than just hosting
Avantages :
I've been using this for my digital marketing/web hosting business for years and no complaints. It's open sourced and there are plenty of custom modules should you have a software that needs to be integrated. I have a custom integration that allows me to accept Bitcoin on invoices. I use it to handle the billing for my agency so it works for more than just web hosting companies.
Inconvénients :
If you are not tech savvy and don't want to hire a developer it can be time-consuming learning to how set some things up. But you only have to do it once in most cases.

Hi there, Thanks for taking the time to share your perspective. It's great to hear WHMCS is automating your digital marketing business!
Depends on What You Use it For
Commentaires : I don't mind it for customer billing, and maybe offering third party hosting through it, but for website building... not for me.
Avantages :
WHMCS offers a lot of functionality with billing and customer products. That being said, the satisfaction and ease of use definitely depends on what you are using it for. If you are using it for customer billing and integrated support, it is solid... if you are trying to integrate it with WordPress and build a site around your product options... it can be difficult.
Inconvénients :
Hard to integrate your product packages and capsules into a WordPress website without using a couple of workarounds.
Happy customer, though still some issues.
Commentaires : I'm a pretty happy customer, though the issues with updating on a Windows Server are frustrating.
Avantages :
Once a customer and project is set up in WHMCS, it's virtually set and forget and the automation processes handle the rest (to an extent).
Inconvénients :
Implementing patches/updates for WHMCS when installed on a Windows Server can be very difficult and time consuming.
Good web hosting automation and management
Commentaires : Makes hosting life easier
Avantages :
Automatic setup, built in ticketing system, recurring billing , this is the software that every web hosting company needs to have to succeed, it automates everything even domain registration.
Inconvénients :
MIgrating to another server can be a challenge, especially if the server has different hosting specifications like moving from Apache to Nginx .

The ultimate hosting management solution
Avantages :
I've used WHMCS for many years and it's been my go to solution for web hosting management. It's user interface is clean, client management is easy and it's integration with cPanel is flawless (its saved me countless hours). WHMCS is easy to setup and its licensing model is simple and affordable. A wide range of payment methods are also available and the software can be used for development licensing too which is pretty cool!
Inconvénients :
It's difficult to find a negative when considering WHMCS. Years of development by a dedicated team and community has results in significant improvements. My only suggestion would be to improve its development licensing system. While it works, there are improvements to be made. However it is worth pointing out that this isn't the standard purpose of the software.
Best host managing software!
Commentaires : It helped me to run my hosting business.
Avantages :
It's simple enough to configure. There are a LOT of options and possibilites. Integrates perfectly with payment methods and servers, makes my life as hosting provider VERY simple.
Inconvénients :
It takes a little time to get used to the interface. It's simple but there is a learning curve. There are so many options that it can be a little overwhelming.

UX and support is a nightmare.
Avantages :
Has integration with many payment systems
Inconvénients :
They sell domain registration modules that do not work properly. Instead of fixing it, they deprecate it. It is ridiculous. Ux and support is a nightmare.
The complete automation for web hosting billing and provisioning with clicks of the mouse.
Commentaires : Web hosting business automation.
Avantages :
I've automated my all of web hosting tasks with the whmcs, security of this cms is very strong and hard for hackers to break into this. Many payments gateways are already integrated just have to setup API to start accepting payments.
Inconvénients :
The slowest customer services I've experienced till today, whenever I face issue I know they will take one week to respond and fix my issues then i rather go to public forums and ask them for help.
