Avantages :

We needed a platform to conduct testing for our members which would limit their ability to "cheat". It is easy to use and setup. Provides for easy grading/reporting after the exam as well.

Inconvénients :

More security features to allow less cheating, although I don't really know what those would be.

I've Used ProProfs for Over 13 Years

Commentaires : Overall, ProProfs is the best classroom assessment program I have found, and believe me, I have looked! It's far and above Google Forms, more versatile that ClassMarker. I have been a ProProfs user for over 13 years and have recommended it to teachers in multiple school districts. It's the best product of this kind that I have used.

Avantages :

As a teacher, I need ways to automate some of my most mundane tasks. Students also benefit when they receive immediate feedback on their work. ProProfs does both of these, and it does them well. I can produce an assessment in ProProfs in relatively little time (10 to 20 minutes), and that assignment can be ready to be linked to students immediately.When students take an exam or quiz on ProProfs, I can 'randomize' the questions, so every student sees the questions in a slightly different order. This helps stop cheating in the classroom! I can set the test so students cannot switch tabs on their browser while taking the test. I can produce 'banks' of questions with the Tags option and give each student a slightly different set of questions, so they are assessed on the same material without being able to share answers. Quizzes can be password protected or set so they become active or expire at a certain time. These options are excellent!ProProfs keeps updating their software and making it better each year. Up until recently, there were only two options for sharing scores with students - immediately sending them a score report upon taking the test, or not sending them a report at all. They recently changed this, so that I can click on a student's report (or a group of students) and send them a detailed score report at any time I wish. This improves test security and makes this software even better.I have used ProProfs since 2009, and I use it on a daily basis.

Inconvénients :

A few years ago, ProProfs implemented a 'Users' function. Some of the more common K-12 accounts limit teachers to 75 users, which is not nearly enough in a high school. I hope ProProfs increases teacher accounts to 150 users, which honestly is the minimum number of users that would be practical for a high school teacher like myself.

Needs a feature that would enable grading a range of quantitative values

The select-a-region questions and the certificates.

Inconvénients :

An important feature that is missing is the ability to score a quantitative range of input as correct. I have several key question types for which the correct answer is anything between (for example) 1.58 and 1.79. ProProfs currently does not allow me to use these kinds of questions. Because of these questions are ultimately more important for my use case than the select-a-region questions and the end-of-quiz certificates, I have switched to Canvas. If you could make these types of questions possible, I would happily switch back!

Straight Forward, Easy to Use

Commentaires : I use ProProfs along with another quiz maker service that is a direct competitor. For quick and easy quizzes that use True/False and multiple choices, it's hard to beat ProProfs in terms of its ease of use. The competitor that I used for complex quizzes that also employ custom, results-based instruction for further training, is much more cumbersome to navigate and create in. It was a service that had to be learned through trial and error and reading knowledge base articles on how to do certain things. With ProProfs, you can jump right in and start generating stuff without feeling overwhelmed or lost. It's also be an extremely reliable service with extremely, minimal downtime.

Avantages :

ProProfs makes it quick to setup graded quizzes that result in a customization certificate. Pretty much any person can setup an account and start generating quizzes (and more) without having to decipher complex coding or a myriad of complex menu options.

Inconvénients :

Some recent UI updates have slowed down the process of generating quizzes. By default, a question isn't marked as being required. Before recent UI changes, marking a question as required was a simply checkbox clearly visible when editing a question. Now, you have to expand the "Advanced" menu on the question and tick the required box. It's nit-picky, but that simple UI change grates on me when I'm created a long training quiz. It's unnecessarily adding time to the process. A clearly visible check box that isn't hidden would be so much better. It'd be nice to either have all the questions just flagged required by default--only unchecking the ones that you don't want to force a response on. I'd have to guess that more often than not, people prefer to have required questions on a quiz. Again, it's nit-picky and a small annoyance in an otherwise great product. It would also be nice to be able to provide matrix style checkbox questions.

I really enjoyed how easy it was to create and customize quizzes with ProProfs Quiz Maker. The interface made it simple to add questions and answers, as well as incorporate images and videos. Plus, the ability to track results and analyze data in real time was incredibly helpful for evaluating the effectiveness of my quizzes.

Inconvénients :

I found the interface of ProProfs Quiz Maker to be a bit confusing and overwhelming. It took me some time to figure out how to navigate through the different features and create a quiz that met my requirements. Additionally, there were some limitations in terms of customization options that I would have liked to see improved. Overall, while I appreciate the functionality of the platform, I think there is room for improvement in terms of user experience.
