AmpliFund Has Transformed Our City's Grants Management

Avantages :

We are a local municipality and AmpliFund hit every one of our wishlist items. It is compatible with Oracle, we were able to customize almost everything, and we could use it for grant making and seeking. AmpliFund is a must-have tool for any organization that is managing a large amount of grants. It is user-friendly and the AmpliFund team is amazing! The implementation process was the smoothest process I have been involved in during my 10 years in local government.

Inconvénients :

Most everything is customizable, however there are some standard fields that cannot be removed.

Commentaires : Overall experience has been great. Mainly due to the exceptional customer service. As with any change, we did experience some growing pains but in the end the system has proven effective.

Avantages :

Amplifund's features encompasses all of our desired functions for research, development, performance, reporting, and different ways to pull queries of grant information.

Inconvénients :

Sometimes the system runs a little slow. The search feature is not user friendly.

Amplified for an Education-focused NPO

Commentaires : Overall the training and assistance our organization received before implementation was extremely thorough. We found the Amplifund team to be committed to finding resolutions, committed to ensuring we understood the training and committed to our organization's satisfaction with the platform. Post-implementation that has not changed.

Avantages :

The tool's expense tracking portion was our organization's main selling point, but tracking goals has been an added benefit when writing grant reports.

Inconvénients :

In the beginning, the expense importing was a bit challenging because of the system limitations of our accounting software. Integrating that software with the grant management tool would greatly help this often time-consuming process.

Commentaires : It has been great. It has made things like annual audits so much easier. It has likewise helped us centralize all of our grant documents.

Avantages :

Amplifund is a great tool to track grant applications, due dates, expenses, and many other grant-related tasks. Our organizations Grants Department is small, and AmpliFund has helped us expand our capabilities without having to hire additional staff.

Inconvénients :

It can take a while to get used to the system, even with training.

Essential Tool for Grant Management

Commentaires : AmpliFund has made audit preparations easier and ensures that we don't miss grant reporting deadlines. It is easier to run a report of active and pending grants and track annual grants over multiple years. Without AmpliFund, we were relying on spreadsheets and paper processes which took much longer and left too much room for error. The support staff of AmpliFund has been amazing and very responsive.

Avantages :

AmpliFund has allowed us to create a permanent grant record that multiple users can access. We depend on the workflow and tasking features to maintain compliance. This has allowed us to manage over 100 active grants with better consistency.

Inconvénients :

AmpliFund continues to build out their platform with more features. When we were building our grant management page, we had to conform to the template and then build out added features. This is helpful but isn't always the most user friendly for our departments to complete.

AmpliFund Review

Commentaires : Before we used this system we tracked all our grants due dates by Excel and there was no budget info tied to it. Now we can manage everything from one site. I can print budget details for grant reports, which makes it much easier to manage.

Avantages :

Ability to track future grants, progress reports, final reports, and the budget and expenses through one program.

Inconvénients :

Additional charge for the Log In with SSO.

Promised the moon and failed to deliver

Commentaires : Tech support was not responsive. Their initial response was to always give you the instructions in their printed material even if you indicated that you had tried this solution and it had failed. Several time we described specific issues we had encountered and were told the software couldn't be doing what we were saying--deleting information on its own, changing currency values. However when we were finally able to do a screen share with their tech support and showed them what we were seeing they finally believed us. The tech support was slow to respond particularly when issues were elevated to a higher level. There was no progress reports on the issues and when they finally did get back to us more than a month later we would have to figure out which issue they were finally addressing. The company CEO, when we were finally able to communicate with him was very responsive and wanted to correct the situation but even after that the sales person still did not clearly comprehend how bad the product had been for us to use. I would not recommend this company or this product.

Avantages :

The only functional piece of this software that really helped our agency was the application process. We had been doing paper applications and Amplifund did allow us to make this process all online and much more streamlined. We had some issues with reviewers not having the right permissions and having to call several times to get this resolved but this was a beneficial feature.

Inconvénients :

First the proposal and the sales people assured our agency that the specific functionality the we were require the software to have--mainly being able to produce a report which would include subrecipient expenses being rolled up into the parent grant budget reports. This was never available and we were promised that we would have this 2.5 years ago. Next we were told that the application we were taking for subawards would automatically be connected to the parent grant so that information put into one system would be reflected in the other. Also this did not happen until the second round of applications. The first applications had to re-entered into the grant management system by hand. Finally the grant management module never worked for us. We were never able to create any of the reports that were suppose to be available. When we created reports according to their instructions no data was shown. When they made system upgrade information was lost or made inaccessible following the upgrade. Amplifund in general actually made it more difficult for us to manage our subrecipient awards that the excel spreadsheet we had been using. I would not recommend this product for managing subrecipients

Terrible software that gets worse with every update

Commentaires : This software did not do what was promised and continues to disappoint. Every update makes it more complicated to use, and their servers are too slow. I use other Grant Management software that function much faster and have customer support to solve your problems immediately, where as amplifund will have multiple tickets open that never get resolved, or will call me for a phone consultation, see the problem, tell me they will work on it and then I never hear from them again. They are cocky in their sales pitches and will try to sell you on what their program can do when it actually can not do anything. their messaging system does not work, their calendar feature does not work, exporting reports and documents constantly has errors, budget numbers will suddenly change or disappear completely.

Solid system, many features for the money

Avantages :

This provides a full grant cycle system, from application to post award closeout out; the configuration of the application is pretty intuitive; There is a ton of flexibility in the configuration of the applications.

Inconvénients :

There are some limits to the layers of information available to some users; the data tables that collate information behind the scenes are very complicated, and have a lot overlap so when querying out information for a report it is difficult to find the fields you are looking for; the custom reports feature was an additional cost that was not clear when we first signed on with Amplifund, rather, the "ability" was there when we asked these questions.

AmpliFund Handles the Transformation of Grant Reporting

Avantages :

AmpliFund is the only truly purpose-built solution for grant management and reporting. This means only AmpliFund is capable of managing the data elements of grant management and reporting in an individual and granular fashion, rather than assuming that those data elements must be conveyed within a document-based forms. A federal pilot program using AmpliFund demonstrated that liberating the data elements of grant management and reporting from document-based forms reduces manual transcription, eliminates uncertainty, and reduces cost. As the federal government transforms federal grant reporting by mandating standardized data elements under the DATA Act, the GREAT Act, and the President's Management Agenda, AmpliFund can allow both grantor agencies and grantees to realize the benefits of data-driven insights and automation that all three of those policy changes envision.

Inconvénients :

The main drawback of a purpose-built solution is that it will have a steeper learning curve than solutions which simply duplicate the workflow of the paperwork that they replace. Users must start thinking in terms of data elements instead of forms.

Avantages :

It works in Windows. That's the best I can say about it.

Inconvénients :

The governmental entity that is our grantor (for 2 grants) required us to adopt this product for submission of reimbursement requests and actual expense v budget tracking. We were using Excel previously to submit our data and that worked just fine. I believe Amplifund was intended to make it easier for the grantor to combine expense data from different grantees but that never proved to be the case for them. They had other problems to which I cannot speak but they have just recently dropped Amplifund. We'll go back to using Excel for a while but then we'll probably have to learn some other software. Our problems included the grantor not being able to "see" the supporting documents we'd send. That would cause the grantor to think we hadn't submitted them and, accordingly, reject our reimbursement request. From a cash flow perspective, we are often running on fumes. Delayed payments had us scrambling! As to learning it, Amplifund is not intuitive in the least. I've been working with PCs ever since 1982 so this ain't my first rodeo. When you work with good software, you get used to superior functionality. Amplifund doesn't provide that.

Amplifund helped boost our grant success!

Avantages :

AmpliFund has greatly enhanced our ability to research, pursue, and track grant documentation and details as an institution. In the past audit compliance was a challenge, with key documents and information scattered across an array of spreadsheets, emails, and individual file folders. With AmpliFund’s simple interface and great organizational tools it is all now housed in one central point, our auditors loved it!

Inconvénients :

The document management component could be clunky as an interface at times.

Slightly difficult to use

Commentaires : I like the ease of tracking expenses and being able to see the balance of line items easily. A lot of the features were not user friendly and required training sessions to learn.

I like the ease of tracking expenses for the year. I like the ease of seeing expenses of the different line items

It was difficult to break up amounts for grants that were funded for multiple years.

Found the Amplifund Software easy to use and set up. The training is Outstanding!

Commentaires : In my opinion the best part of my experience so far is our Product Trainer Christy Pellegrino! She is responsive to questions and has provided training specialized to the different users that our organization will have using the system. All trainings were recorded so that I could provide the recordings to any users that could not attend the "live" training session. I found that we are moving in a direction that I control not Amplifund........they let me call the shots. Great customer service which is hard to find in today's fast moving web based world. This system is to manage grants........from start to finish. It includes the Grantfinder system that is invaluable in finding funding for our organization. If you are looking for a system I would recommend this system for managing your every need for your grants. Aloha!

Streamlink & U.S. federal grant management

Avantages :

I had the pleasure of working with the Streamlink team a few years ago on a pilot program with the U.S. Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board. We needed to collect information on existing grant programs with non-profits, and Streamlink provided access to the exact audience we needed. The software was easily configurable to meet our needs, and the Streamlink team could not have been easier to work with.

A great way to get all of your grants tracked

Commentaires : Prior to Amplifund we were trying to track all of our grants via shared Excel spreadsheets. Amplifund far outweighs that antiquated method and is a great way for Sr. Leaders in our organization to check in and run reports as well as for all of us writers to be in the know on the life cycle of grants
