Commentaires : Prometheus permet un système de contrôle open source avec des modèles de données multidimensionnelles il est un système de surveillance capable de déclencher des alertes tant que les conditions sont respectées

Avantages :

Prometheus est gratuit malgré que avec des options plus concrète il demande un plus hormis la gratuite du logiciel, il a un tableau de bord configurable et surtout un seuil d'alertes aussi configurables

Inconvénients :

Prometheus en mon sens n'est pas disponible dans tous les pays si étant un inconvénients Majeures pour nous qui travaillons en Afrique

Commentaires : I like prometheus the way it integrate with all products & gives the granular output in grafanna.In opensource monitoring tool
prometheus is No.1 as of now according to me.

Avantages :

For most of the software products the prometheus exporter is available , it is easy to use for those who have a basic knowledge of how monitoring tool works, yes it takes only 3 months to deploy prometheus to monitor our entire infrastructure

Inconvénients :

There is not much negativity about this product , but as per me there are few metrics which is not available, for example : reg datastore's of vmware infrastructure , the available metrics are limited. I couldn't find the DS latency metric.But in opensource we cannot expect 100% also.

Avantages :

It is really helpful for monitoring and you can integrate it with other tools

Inconvénients :

You need to be a system administrator to configure it properly and perform the custom configurations

This is light tool for efficient tracking and monitoring the applications

Inconvénients :

it has almost no visualization we need to integrate grafana to visualise Prometheus output

Inconvénients :

Some metrics, like the latency metric for VMware's datastore, may be missing, and configuring Victoria metrics can be challenging. However, these limitations are expected in an open-source solution.

Globally used tool for Reporting and Analytics

Avantages :

A great tool to manage, report and analyze your servers and applications.Well maintained KEDB and configuration and can be integrated with many platforms

Inconvénients :

Their visualization can be made much better when compared to other reporting and monitoring tools.

Best open source monitoring tool

Commentaires : We have cutdown the costing for monitoring. No more enterprise monitoring tool required.

Avantages :

The product is not very ease to use , it requires some basic skills about monitoring. The integration of prometheus with our existing environement took some time but made beautifully. Exporters available for almost all products with most of the inbuild metrics. Alert configuration i like the most. Our NOC team watches the alerts triggering from prometheus and escalated to respective team. They never get any false alerts as such.

Inconvénients :

Configuring victoriya metrics is quite difficult which could be made easy. Overall prometheus administration requires some skills which not all people easy to learn. For some products few metrics are missing like for vmware datastore latency metric is mssing.

Review for prometheus

Commentaires : I have implemented software for monitoring all enterprise servers and use grafana to create metrics and get more details.

Avantages :

the integrations for some apps for example notifications with webhooks

Inconvénients :

I don't know if this is the least but the software is open source and the support is from the community

Data importing for almost everything

Commentaires : Great. It does a lot of data managing for us and worked well this far.

Avantages :

I like the flexibility that prometheus offers. It can be integrated easily with existing projects.

Inconvénients :

Migrating from another system can be difficult due the for me known lack of migration tools
