We have used other programs, and this by far offers the best coverage for all aspects of storage tasks, reports, and accountability.

Inconvénients :

NO ONE knows what is going on. We are definitely getting something different, no matter what the cost.

The customer support. Their team is really trying to create better software for us and it shows.

Inconvénients :

It used to be their lack of access to real support but this last year has seen a solid 180.

Great Improvement from Old Version

Commentaires : Excellent, simple and easy. Great support staff, well trained and well lead.

Avantages :

Easy to use and navigate. Easy to Train new users. Very mobile functional even for Admin functions. Very cost-effective payment merchant options. Lots of automated functions. New [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] has totally turned it around and now improvements are getting made very quickly. Software is easily one of best out there! VERY cost effective and simple to use with one or multiple stores. New customers can be looked in the uhaul db on a national basis for contact information that automatically comes in.

Inconvénients :

Needs the revenue management brought into the new version. More reliable centralized mailing reporting. Better reporting for Mobile Digital Walk Around (inventory). API is nearly worthless at this point. Digital signatures on contracts is still pretty basic. Needs an API link with a full function eSign software or integrated eSign functions that are connected to a kiosk app or a website link. Customer portal is still branded like Uhaul and can't be modified for company designs or just trimmed down to be unbranded.

Do NOT purchase into WSS at least for the remainder of 2018

Commentaires : WSS 2.7 is only serving to hinder our business and lose us money.

Avantages :

It looks cleaner than the original WSS, and it automatically saves now. That's about it. I don't know what else to say.

Inconvénients :

I've been using WSS for about 5 years. I'm an Admin, I'm our trainer, I'm our new facility integrator; The original WSS was very rough around the edges. It looked like it was originally programmed and the UI sculpted the day the internet came out, BUT it worked and had a ton of functionality. When they "updated" they removed a lot of key features. I'm talking KEY features, like managing your rent raises. Features they know are important because every time I ask "Where is XYZ located now" the answer is always "our developers are working on that, but I cannot provide you with an ETA". This updated was forced. It's extremely buggy. It is a complete headache at times trying to properly record your facility's financial data, from a gross overview to simply taking a payment for an individual account and seeing the ledger properly update. Its like they didn't beta test or were forced by the TOP executives to push out an incomplete product. I will NEVER trade functionality for an updated look. You took a perfectly good product and ruined it for the sake of looking trendy. Not to mention that one of the best things about WSS was its chat support and affiliate network support... where you could quickly get help locating a function or resolving an issue; but their support systems are completely over-loaded at this point. I'm talking about 4-8 hour wait times minimum, and this is a month after the update. This is a broken product as of right now, stay away.

Shalimar Self Storage Converts to WSS from Sitelink

Commentaires : I've had a great experience with WebSelfStorage. While some competitors may have similar features, I found the functionality and cost of WSS to be unmatchable.

Avantages :

“I had worked for U-Haul Moving and Storage as a Customer Service Rep, Assistant Manager, General Manager, and Area Field Manager for several years, so I knew the value of the program and was much more familiar with that operating system. Not to mention, our location was already a U-Haul Dealer, so the change to become a self-storage affiliate as well was a no brainer.” “This platform is far cheaper than what Sitelink was charging us monthly for, in my opinion, an inferior product. We do pay extra for the call center, but this has helped us to answer any questions our tenants may have after office hours, as well as making payments, and receiving reservations for our empty units. Centralized mailing may have had the largest impact for us as a company so far. Under prior management, days were spent trying to type up rate increase letters and auction notices. Not to mention, half of them were never even mailed. Now with WebSelfStorage, we are provided with a letter template for various actions common among the storage industry. We then can have them mailed directly to our customers at standard postage costs. It's beautiful when the whole system ties together, it makes for much less hassle.” The newest version is much more user friendly than the past.” “The most impressive aspect of WebSelfStorage since signing up in June is the support. Inconvénients :

Over the phone customer support was once charged to the customer, now with the new version of WSS, it is much easier to get any questions you have answered. Sometimes you will have to wait if they are busy, but once you speak to a representative, they make it very easy for you to access them when needed.

The price, the call center and payment processing fees specificaly

Inconvénients :

It is absolutely horrendous. Terrible customer service. The help desk doesn't know how to answer 75% of questions. Ongoing problems with their software, including a broken data feed from Uhaul.com, where customers pay online, which has been broken for more than 6 months. Our customers have to call us to update their contact or payment info. The say they integrate with several 3rd parties but it is not true integration, manual processes must come into play in all APIs. Terrible software that needs to be scrapped and built correctly.

Top Notch Technical support.

Commentaires : We have already had several customer move in because of Web Self Storage. We are not paying 1 1/2 the first months rent to a foreign company to rent our units. Finally we can answer our own phone calls without going through a third party. It is more economical and are dealing with friendly people.

Avantages :

I was intimidated by the program at first : however, with the help of rep they have made it seem easy. I am 73 years old and learn easier by hands on. The guidance that me and my team has received has helped immensely. Of course with any new program it is going to be a learning curve, I am thankful to have caring help on the other end..

Inconvénients :

It takes longer to take an application. I am sure with time, it will go faster. This is only our first week to be dealing with a new program. If you are moving over to WebSelfStorage do so after the 10th of the month it makes it much easier.

Avantages :

It is a good program for the monthly fee. Easily integrates into our kiosk and gate programs.

Inconvénients :

The inability to send notices and invoices to clients with Gmail addresses due to Web Self Storage not updating their settings to allow it. Also, a branch of Uhaul so their website lags and takes some time to load.

Commentaires : At this time there are no benefits as we no longer use this software/product.

Avantages :

In the beginning WSS was a breeze to use. entering tenants names, addresses and phone numbers. That is not hard at all. The ease of renting a unit and being able to vacate them was easy enough. The reports were understandable to interpret. The daily open/close procedure was easy too.

Inconvénients :

The few things that I did not care about were the customer support when there woul dbe issues and there were plenty of days that issues came up. Not being able to log in, at times was a daily occurrence. The system itself would double and sometimes triple charge a tenants credit card after the payment had already been processed for auto pay!That was an accountant's nightmare. After finally speaking to someone in support, they were not very helpful at all.

Excellent controls - good for multi location operation. Low cost. Usable from remote computers. Some customer reference from other locatioins

Inconvénients :

Repeated failed upgrades and cloud interface. On new system, after a week they still are down loading other storage customers mixed in with our customers.

Worst software Ever 2.7 rewrite

Commentaires : For the last 8 years it has been one of the worst experiences with a software provider I have ever had in my 45 years of business. Their customer service department is understaffed so response times are poor. They are way behind the technology curve. We have remained with them because we have had a small 34,000 sq. ft. facility but with two more facilities in our plans these guys will soon be in the rear view mirror..a bad experience all the way around.

Avantages :

Finally compatible with Chrome Browser after 8 years of using them and having to use Windows Explorer.

Inconvénients :

Pretty much everything. The only improvement over the old software is the browser compatability with Chrome, not intuitive, move-ins are twice as slow. There conversion from the old system to the new was an absolute disaster. We sat on a chat session for 4 hours waiting for help so we could move someone in. We have used them for 8 years for the cost which is a third of the competition but you can only put up with mediocrity for so long at any cost, even free! Software runs slow because of the 15,000 outlets using it. Today is the 4th of the month, payments coming in but software has been down all morning. Can't wait to get our new software with StorEdge!

STAY AWAY! STAY FAR, FAR AWAY! DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!

Commentaires : We are a self storage business. This is the worst software I have ever used. It barely works. There are constant glitches. Customer support is useless. Your issues get "escalated" but nothing gets resolved. If we didn't use it for many years and all our data wasn't on their servers, we'd have switched already. READ THE OTHER REVIEWS. THEY'RE ACCURATE.

Avantages :

Nothing. Please, just read the other reviews. It takes a lot for me to write something negative about a company. But other businesses need to be spared from the pain of dealing with them. It's THAT bad.

Inconvénients :

We were users of the "classic" software, which worked fine. In March 2018, we were upgraded to "new software" from their "developers." This is, hands down, the worst software I've ever used. Please, read all the other reviews as well, especially the recent ones. They're all true. This software functions like 4th graders developed it as a science fair project. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS SOFTWARE. I don't want anyone else to go through what we're going through. We're not alone. Just read the other reviews.

Commentaires : I needed some extensive history files on a client, as she was taking us to small claims court and [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] went above and beyond in digging up the old file and sending me all that I requested. Kudos to her as it was very much appreciated!!!! Karen Apple

Avantages :

Some areas of the new WSS software is better. Like the fact that you have the option to delete a credit card charge, before saving, if say you accidentally did not put in the correct amount to charge.

Inconvénients :

Tech support took away the message box on the "letters" feature. This leaves me no way to correspond with client concerning a letter unless I generate ANOTHER email to client which has been reported " this is very annoying to receive 2 emails." Tech support gave me a reason (afraid clients would think it was spam mail & not open) but that doesn't seem like a valid reason. I would really like to see the message box added back onto the letters feature. I was told my name would be added to the complaint list about this. If there is a "LIST" shouldn't that tell you other WSS users want it back? Please return this feature as soon as possible. Also cannot retrieve past clients. I'm in a college town & have A LOT of returning clients. Being able to retrieve their past info would be very beneficial and time-saving for me.

Commentaires : severely bad I wouldn't recommend any of this,i understand all new programs have glitches .I have 25 years experience in fast food,retial and big corporate offices and never have I experienced so much frustrations,the long wait as we try to fix things that we can was absolutely un called for.

Avantages :

nothing an upgrade was told and I as a new facility mgr.had just learned a lot about the wss and the upgrade changed the entire program to the point our very finest spent hours waiting on a live chat.I live chated and at 12:26 pm I took my lunch break and still at 430 pm I had sat in office waiting for this live chat ,we close at 5pm and I had still not gotten a response or recognition.as like all businesses we are very busy company and we thrive on our customer service which you have none.

Transcending Management Software

Commentaires : I have used many Software Programs over the past 30+ years in the storage industry. My first software experience was with DOS based systems. I have used other Web based programs and have felt the pain of there costs and desired a more cost effective management software. I don't require a great deal of interaction between the provider but occasionally need some help. WebSelfStorage, is always been there when we needed help.

Avantages :

Cost, Functionality, and ease of use! aa

Avantages :

There is nothing to like so far. I am at this moment, trying to get a small problem fixed that should have taken 5 minutes. I have been on chat and on the phone for over 2 hours not.

Inconvénients :

the biggest con is it doesn't work. I have been a customer of theirs since 2001. The old version worked fine, there were knowledgeable tech agents if you needed them. Since this new "upgrade", we have issues EVERY DAY. Half the time it doesn't even work. Sometimes it crashes. SO many bugs that come and go. NO ONE knows what is going on. We are definitely getting something different, no matter what the cost.

Worst software and support imaginable!

Commentaires : The best benefit is to not waste your time or money.

Avantages :

Better than paper. Nothing positive to say.

Inconvénients :

I think this software was designed to make it as difficult and unpredictable as possible. I have experience with other self storage software and am quite tech savvy but WSS said they can report to Quick Books and after hours and hours (mostly on hold) the problems just got ignored.

Commentaires : Overall so far it’s been a good experience and everyone has been very helpful along the way.

Avantages :

Like the ability to call someone or online chat with them to help me with issues when they arise and they are always very helpful

Inconvénients :

Not being able to have full control over how rooms are listed and termed. I would like for my units to be described as temperature controlled rooms instead of climate controlled rooms and that is something that can’t be fixed. I would like to see the site map more user friendly like site links. When you move mouse over top of unit I wish the screen on the right would auto populate the customers info

Avantages :

The updated the look of the site and that's really it.

Inconvénients :

Do you hate actually taking payments from a customer? Would you rather stare at and endless loading screen? Do you prefer as little as possible tools to help you keep track of customers/payments? Do you love when customer support does absolutely nothing to help solve problems except promise to send the ticket to someone else and then never hear back well thank to the April update this is the product for you!

Commentaires : The technical support that we have had during the learning process has been great, any issues we have had we could call or email and we had a response very fast.
They give you one person that will help you with whatever comes up that was very nice

Avantages :

The credit card fees are very competitive for the industry. We had been using the same software program for years. and we needed something that had more features that could help us at the first of the month with statements and with automatic credit card processing .

Inconvénients :

We are in our mid 60's and there is a learning curve you must go through, with any new program, after we became familiar with the program it has got better. Our electronic gate access is not on there list that compatible with the program , Also making batch payment would also be very nice feature to have

A few bugs with the launch of webselfstorage 2.0, but everything is back on track.

Worst Customer Service EVER!

Commentaires : Extremely poor customer service! They make me want to rip my hair out!

Avantages :

The ease of applying payments and how like functions were on the same page. NOT so after upgrade. What I liked is gone.

Inconvénients :

For example, after the recent upgrade I have a tenant prepaid showing he owes over $1000.00. For a week now tech support tells me everything they CANNOT do. I just asked for an estimate of time to fix, they said they cannot tell me and cannot connect with those who know. UNBELIEVABLE!

Emailing has been tricky with several not getting to the customer. The problem has been fixed

Avantages :

I loved the convenience of learning the product, and also being able to give feedback on ways to change/update the software.

Inconvénients :

Some of the features only worked on some of the Windows versions, therefore compatibility was an issue for some of our users.
