Customer support is great because they have to talk to me every week about an issue with this software.

Inconvénients :

One of the main reasons why we chose them is for the integration with Global Vet Link. When the government started requiring additional information, the integration broke.

Impromed

Commentaires : Overall good. Its overall keeping tract of our clients patients medical records.

Avantages :

It's easy to keep track and answer our clients questions with improMed. I also use lab screen and other templets that can ease my documents on our patience. Its also nice to have the emailing features so I can get the information to our clients immediately.

Inconvénients :

The inventory and product side of this software is complicated. I also wish it will tell me where I'm at with needing to reorder our inventory. The Templates with prescription labels and reminders we seem to always need a IT person to help us. IT help can sometimes not followup with us when we need something not as immediate can be pushed aside and not followup. Transactions take a long time with the credit cards.

Avantages :

This product is user friendly for scheduling appointments and billing clients. Easy to right click/left click. Very windows based program.

Inconvénients :

Medical records-- it is not an easy task to set up medical records within the program and not so easy to edit them.

It has a nice layout, self explanatory.

Inconvénients :

To start with the transition from Avimark to ImproMed was a mess- our server arrived without all the necessary information which required our trainer to focus on that during a time we were to receive training. Lab equipment has not communicated with software consistently since the install which was 4/2018. As you can imagine learning a new system when you did not have the appropriate time to be trained can be difficult- their customer support WAS really bad during that time, it has gotten better but I have also had to figure out so much using youtube that I really just do not call them unless I have to. There is no spell check as you go along, you have to type then check it. It refreshes but bumps you out of where you were looking so you have to start all over again. Every now and then it will glitch and bump the date along the right lower side of the screen back to 1900 - so as you are trying to look up soaps and medical records there isn't anything there. Low qty items do not auto populate to the want list. Inventory is not easy to understand and it is easy to make mistakes that throw off your counts. Intelligent inventory was exciting but I was talked out of that by an ImproMed support person so... the spreadsheet is a mess to try and use- very easy to make a mistake for price increases.

In house vs Mobile versions

Commentaires : They have been trying to get the mobile edition to appear similar to the non-mobile but still not finished. I'm going to try a different way to use the program and see if that helps.

Avantages :

When I bought the practice, there was DOS version of the software which was difficult to use in a windows generation. When we upgraded to the windows version, there is multiple ways to do each task which helps various employees to do their work in their learning style.

Inconvénients :

The mobile addition is supposed to run the same as the regular version but after a week of using it, there has been numberous problems using it. Unsure if it would work better if didn't need to sync with my other brick molar practice version that has been operating during the day with the associates seeing patients or if both used the same database. The problems are: the program not loading modules the same, giving the blue "circle of death" constantly, delayed opening of screens and kicking out of the program during operation. The other problem is the customer support: if you get someone it helps but if you need them to call back due to long wait times, they won't call back until the next day. IF YOU CAN, STAY ON THE PHONE LINE! Otherwise they don't consider you a priority anymore = "squeaky wheel gets the oil". When it comes to DICOM integration, it took over 4 months to get medical records to list the images and I still don't think the actual images come up in the rooms, but COVID made that unnecessary for now.

Commentaires : I used ImproMed for many years in two separate practices. Overall, the system works well if you do not want to move to being completely paperless. It has robust reporting and works well for the administrative side of running a veterinary practice. The medical record keeping definitely has room for improvement.

Avantages :

The inventory management and reporting aspects of ImproMed are quite good. As an administrator, you can easily get all the information you need to assess your practice. Appointment scheduling is quick and simple. The way the medical records are viewed is easy to navigate.

Inconvénients :

The medical records aspect leaves a lot to be desired. If free typing, ImproMed organizes the medical records in a great way. If you are trying to truly go "paperless", however, it is difficult to navigate and inefficient. The tree set up for medical records is time consuming to go through in order to enter your records and push charges through. ImproMed is ideal for a practice that is a hybrid of paper and electronic records. It is a great system for entering notes and keeping records, but inefficient to utilize to be completely paperless.

Commentaires : As a multi-practice location we would be lost without the ability to have on central client database to use at all of our locations.

Avantages :

I like all of the integrations with this software. The software is updated on a regular basis. The ability to customize the features of the dashboard to each user or group.

Inconvénients :

We do have more needs for multi-business features. There are some items on our wish list for the inventory module.

Commentaires : Excellent. Customer service is vital to the software running properly and Impromed has excellent support staff.

Avantages :

Impromed handles all of our software needs and was the only company that could supply the technology we needed for our multi-practice business in 2004.

Inconvénients :

Training is essential. New employees take a little time to learn the software. There are several ways to get to the same location and that is difficult for some to grasp.

ImproMed Review

Avantages :

We no longer use ImproMed due to NVA using AVImark. We used it for 6 years and once we became comfortable with the system, everyone enjoyed using it. We liked the ability to upload photos into the dental record. At the time we were able to upload pet photos for their reminder cards. The clients really enjoyed receiving their pet's photo on the reminder card.

Inconvénients :

Creating forms could sometimes be a challenge.

Not listening

Commentaires : We are a busy 2 person mixed practice with a lot of inventory dispensing. We have been using Infinity for about 7 years. The support is really not what is used to be. They do not get back to us. And we are paying a high quarterly fee for that support. The label program and the search communications is too complicated for the average person to use. You have to call and get help for that, and they seldom "get" what you want. The program takes way too many steps to complete the simplest tasks. A good program allows a good computer literate person to "enter" or tab through screens. With this program, you always are reaching for the mouse, which doubles the time of date entry. Most of the drop down or view screens are not customizable. They are a small window, with lots of non-necessary columns and the only way to view them all, is to go to the mouse, slide the bottom bar, or narrow the columns like an excel format, until you see what you really want. I have made these suggestions since the program came out, and nothing has been done. There is little that is efficient with this program.

Avantages :

Lots of reports. But, again, they need to understand what the owner of a practice needs to evaluate and put that in a report that helps, graph and compare categories, trends, product usage for the past 5 years, without exporting to excel. When I complain about that, they just are proud of the fact that you can export to excel. But my time is valuable. Make it work in infinity.

Inconvénients :

See my experience, and also, Inventory. They need to get with MWI and get a seamless way to load inventory. I know Infinity is owned by Schein, but I am not, and they need to get over it, and help the customer that can only source what they need from MWI and allow downloading of orders into the system. We need predictive inventory. It takes too much time to view product, look at the usage by month (which is a very nice feature). We have over 2,000 products (inventory) and it would take forever to set the repurchase levels. Plus, in our large animal practice, products are seasonal. Let the program predict what I need to order based on past usage, so my staff can quickly select the quantity to reorder, and let the order go to MWI through Infinity.

Commentaires : We are close to 85% paperless in our Emergency department and this has made a huge difference in the details. The information is retrievable and very easily accessed saving time and money. Would not consider changing systems. Use is so easy and understandable that you can onboard new hires with ease.

Avantages :

Impromed is one of the easiest software to use. We put it in place and began usage back in 1990(?) before paperless was even a thought. The software has been enhanced but has not changed in any major way since we started. It's ease of use has remained constant. Upgrades have been consistent with the needs of the time. We have very few things we want it to do that has not yet been achieved. Constant Quality Improvement continues throughout the 30 plus years we have used this software with excellent customer support. The Medical Records and Invoicing modules are better than most. The Intelligent Inventory has made keeping track of inventory much easier, invaluable.

Inconvénients :

We started so long ago that any computer system would have been cumbersome. The ease with which we can train our ever- evolving staff saves both time and expense. We run across minor things over time that we would like to have included and give this information to Impromed who may or may not include in future updates. We do have difficulty emailing from Impromed at times but overall there is very little that we are displeased with.

Overall great product

Commentaires : Excellent. Since our upgrade (video lessons were sent) I have sometimes had 2 or 3 questions per day, the support staff is quick to get back to me if they are not immediately available, and always very pleasant. We have also had some integrations that have gone smoothly with their help.

Avantages :

We have been using this product for over 10 years now. We have always been happy with the easy of maintenance, and use. We recently updated to the newer version of the program and are still getting used to the changes. There is a lot more security, as an owner I appreciate this. We do use the appointment scheduler and one of the upgrades now helps to prevent two people from scheduling appointments at the same time.

Inconvénients :

I think the easytime appointment scheduler has been the most difficult to adapt to, it is difficult to look quickly for an available time slot, because it does not give you a view of entire day. We used to use current invoices tab to help locate clients coming to pick up meds. Unfortunately it is alphabetized by owners first name not their last, and if a spouse picks up it makes it more difficult to locate for billing out.

Commentaires : It would be impossible to do the job without it but some work flow and usability problems make me wonder if the designers of the software have ever had to use it. As a receptionist you have to do several things at once and there are too many limitations here.

Avantages :

It is quite easy to learn IF you have someone to train you. It does way more than you need it to IF you have the time to seek out HOW to do things.

Inconvénients :

A daily issue is that it only allows you to look at one screen at a time. You are constantly having to close a screen and reopen it later to complete a job. If you are in the middle of something and have to answer a call it does pop up and asks you if you want to complete what you’re doing, but not what you were doing. You have to cancel, take the call, remember which client you were working on before the phone call(s) and then you have to start over trying to complete that job. An example…1) To find out the total of an invoice and take a payment by credit card without the card present such as over the phone, you have to select conclude, close that screen, go to client details to get credit card information, close that screen and reopen conclude to finish processing that payment. 2) During creating a prescription you have to see what the last prescription was and which Dr. prescribed it, close that screen, create a new prescription and remember what the correct dosing instructions are to type them in. If you don’t remember, you have to cancel that screen and start over. Editing that prescription refills amount or dosing instructions once saved is also problematic. 3) Creating estimates - frustrating that estimates don’t show up in order of date created and you can’t sort by date created by clicking on a header. 4) When looking at Invoices completed, the software should always have the latest transaction at the top of the screen unless sorted manually otherwise.

12+ years Impromed (Infinity) Veterinary Software

Avantages :

Can be tailored to Veterinary specific, either large, mixed or companion animal practice. Easy to learn and use. Can insert our own pre-written data into EMR's/SOAP that are then edited for each exam/surgery EMR. Use of Teamviewer helps with two-way communication.

Inconvénients :

1) Spell Check is awful Does not remember the most useful of words, medical terms and even the DVM's name, although we press "add to dictionary"! The suggested words are ridiculously off. It does not even know noun plurals and verb tenses. This is the DVM's greatest complaint. Again, this is awful, and we have told Impromed Programming Managers many times. They say that they will note this for the future. 2) Used to be loooong holds on phone for Support. Now better, during COVID-19 and especially since they seem to have hired more people who work from Phoenix as well as in Oshkosh. Very often though, the 1st level support person does not know how to fix an issue, but has kept us on the line for up to 30 minutes while they try (their time limit!). They say they will pass the Case on to a Senior level Support, but it can take days before we hear from them. At least they often know how to fix it. 3) Problems 1 and 2 are enough reason for us to give an overall rating of 2. There are more issues.

Impromed

Avantages :

This software is kind of hard to use and get used to, I switched from Avimark and still prefer Avimark, Impromed is a lot of steps to get one thing done, but I do like that everything requires initials, that way if there is an error it is easy to find who is involved.

Inconvénients :

It is very difficult to refill medications, in avimark you were able to refill straight from the chart by right clicking and hitting "refill" impromed is a little more difficult. It is also hard to change any errors with patient processing and refunds are also multiple unnecessary steps. It took me a long time to get used to impromed. I also dislike that all appointments are the same color, in Avimark everything was color coded so you knew which appointments were vaccines, which ones were sick, which ones were euthanasia's and things of that nature, with impromed if you don't hover over every appointment you don't know what they are being seen for.

Commentaires : More user friendly than any other software I’ve used. Tech support is most always friendly and helpful which is also better service than other softwares we’ve used.

Avantages :

Ease of use makes it easier to train new people and access new features when upgrades occur. Looks nice as well.

Inconvénients :

Unexplainable glitches that can interfere with daily routine but are not explained by tech support. For example, if the computer refreshes while someone is selecting a patient’s file it defaults to the previous patient, thus charges and records get put under the wrong pet. Time is lost having to re-enter everything.

We Love Impromed

Commentaires : We have used ImproMed for about 7 years. We switched to the program from KennelSuite, which did not have enough features to manage all of the services we offer (boarding, grooming, training, group play). Overall it's been a great experience and the program meets our needs.

Avantages :

We are a pet resort, rather than a vet clinic, so our needs are different. We were able to customize the program to meet our needs and we find it very versitile.

Inconvénients :

I wish ImproMed would update some of the features to be more boarding friendly (better tasks and reporting options for feeding, medication, and play times). Customer service has suffered since they were bought out by Covetrus. I used to call and get someone immediately who was knowledgeable and could help me. Now every time I call I get someone who does what I've already done to try and solve the issue. Then I get bumped up to a higher level of support and have to wait for a call back. That's my biggest issue right now.

Commentaires : I'd give Impromed an 85% overall.
Software support could be improved- the persons on the inside support team are nice, but not always able to solve issues & their follow-up is lacking for ongoing issues/tickets.

Avantages :

Colorful and easily customized. Many ways to accomplish same task- easy to 'click around' and figure things out on your own.

Inconvénients :

"Refresh" and "Lock" buttons are right next to each other. Cannot have modules open in quadrant pattern. Not the best credit card integration program- cumbersome & difficult to process returns/refunds. Not the best electronic white board.

Great functionality but....

Commentaires : When Impromed was a stand alone company, things were great. When they were purchased by Henry Schein, they started to decline on technical support and have gone completely into the toilet ever since it became Covetrus. The front line tech support folks need a lot of help. If you are fortunate enough to catch an analyst, life is good... it's just a fight to get to them. Support needs to be more responsive when a practice is not functional because the software is not working as it is supposed to. Having to schedule a support call next week does not help keep a business open at all.

Avantages :

The software is somewhat intuitive and easy to use. There are many features that we have yet to discovery or figure out how to use. There are some quirks but don't we all?

Inconvénients :

It would be really helpful to be able to have a CLIENT record separate from their pet's records. Many communications with clients pertain to all their pets and not just one. Placing notes in the client record would make it easier than entering for each individual pet.

Commentaires : The salesperson misrepresented the ability for us to sync remotely. This was a huge selling point for us as we don't always report to the office. When calling in for IT support it often feels like support isn't aware of how the program should work. Problems seem to be solved in different ways. Our problems do eventually get resolved, but i spend quite a bit of time with support.

Avantages :

It integrates lab work. We are able to use a quick view of what animals are up to date on.

Inconvénients :

The program is very cumbersome, there seem to be a lot of redundant "clicks" to accomplish any tasks. The program is not intuitive. For our ambulatory equine practice, the fact that it doesn't allow new cities to be entered on the field units is inconvenient at the very least. This is where we encounter the majority of our new information. We hold our breath every time we set up to synchronize our field units as it is rare that that is a seamless process. The medical history printout for clients is very confusing and not "clean".

Long time user of Impromed

Commentaires : Getting help from customer service is usually pretty quick. When I've called to add on new modules that has taken a while for them to get back to me. The program is pretty easy to use, just wish they hadn't added more steps and removed some of the easy features of the old program.

Avantages :

The programming gives us all the modules we need to do our daily tasks. It also links with many other programs offered by other Veterinary companies so we can easily offer rebates to be automatically sent out through Greenline, Carecredit is quick and easy through it, can be connected with most lab software.

Inconvénients :

With the most recent update, things seem to take more steps of clicking on to do same thing and we lost some of our conveniences that were removed with upgrades. ex. checking our postcards for already scheduled appointments takes 2 more clicks in and out of each client to see if they already have an appointment scheduled where before we could be in the module and just open the account.

Long time Impromed user

Commentaires : Overall, it's been good. I have been using Impromed for 22 years and it has come a long way!
My biggest issues have been with support ups and downs, not being able to speak with the same techs like in the "old days", slowness in returning calls when ordering new hardware.

Avantages :

At first glance it looks a bit intimidating, buts once you learn your way around, it's a piece of cake! I really like Easytime! Very easy to use. Patient processing is so easy to navigate. Ease of use when paperlight (We went paperlight in 2010)

Inconvénients :

There are so many different ways to do the same thing, that it's hard to be consistent when training new employees. It would be nice to see improvement made to the message center. Adding the ability to select multiple employees to a message. Converting treatment plans to invoices needs improvement. Patient transfers are confusing to do

I have used infinity for about 4 years now (i have used cornerstone and avimark in the past) and i must say i'm not impressed. I work at an emergency clinic and I must say that our servers are always lagging and computers always crashing. we even got all new computers and servers recently which somewhat helped but not by much. impromed often doesn't know what to do for problems and have even asked me to show them how to get somewhere to something in their software. I also find that there are so many ways the software is depending on employee interaction that allows for a lot of error and based on employee and their ability to use the software. and although they have their own way to email clients and integrate labwork and such, i find that we still use outside email and have to link messages in message center through infinity, copy and paste reports and paste them in the chart, etc.

Impromed user for 6 years

Avantages :

Integration was many years ago. Our previous software was very outdated and Impromed was a big step up for us. Upgrades have been easy to schedule and get done so far. We have purchased quite a few more workstations from Impromed directly and that is always seamless.

Inconvénients :

Setting up to be paperless was not easy. Some things could be a little more intuitive. Some features are clunky. Slow with Cubex
