Maptitude is an excellent geospatial data software package that is aimed at the business user.

Commentaires : The ability to take my Excel data and to look at it spatially to see trends in my data. As a business/economic geography, this software fully meets my mapping needs.

Avantages :

All of the tools you need to do spatial analysis are included in the software at the base price. No need to pay for costly add-ons or extensions. This includes state, county, MSA, zip code and census tract level line work and data including all 255 Census fields. The user as the ability to do point maps, thematic maps, drive-time rings and advanced spatial and statistical analysis.

Inconvénients :

Just some cosmetic tweaks to the legend box, and the ability to do curved flow/desired lines. That aside, I'm a very happy user of the software, as the customer service is top notch.

Maptitude for Planners

Commentaires : Analysis of demographics, locations, paratransit trip history, etc., to help local governments, committees, and agencies plan and change fixed route patterns, expansion, timing, etc.

Avantages :

I have been a planning consultant for over 20 years. I highly recommend Maptitude. The learning curve is short - it is the most intuitive but powerful mapping applications I have ever used. Others are fine, they cannot beat the ease of use and functionality of Maptitude. It is easy to create map layers and final presentation maps from scratch with it. And Maptitude comes with map layer data of its own, which is the best I have seen. In addition can import a variety of file types, which is extremely valuable when you are working with local governments using a variety of map formats. This means you can readily combine data from many sources in one map in Maptitude. You will really like working with it.

Inconvénients :

I cannot think of a thing I didn't like about it.

Helpful in assigning territories

Commentaires : So slow and non-intuitive that I get frustrated and usually just screen shot and cut/paste the data I need.

Avantages :

The graphical colors it prints out on maps after I enter the data.

Inconvénients :

How extremely slow it is. Please don't blame the computer or the internet connection as the program is painfully slow and extremely hard to understand how to use. Entirely too complex to navigate.

Maptitude makes my job easier!

Commentaires : Other than some setup issues, and renewal issues everything has been great with Maptitude. While there were some issues (due to having an ARM computer), the team was very quick to respond and resolve.

Avantages :

Simple territory creation & data loads. Customer Support team is amazing with this company!

Inconvénients :

Installing on an ARM computer can be a pain, but the support team is amazing and very quick to respond.

Best bang for buck in GIS is Maptitude

Commentaires : I attended 2 classes in Boston early in the stages of Maptitude. I had little field experience in GIS and the instructor helped me understand the power of Maptitude.

Avantages :

Low cost of investment. Annual upgrade is less for previous users. Ability to import large records in layers (some call this vectors).

Inconvénients :

If one downloads the app and has a key, that does not always work. And there is no weekend support. Examples of how to create queries. Examples need to be shown like Qgis. How to rubber-sheet a map. How to export to KML data and examples.

The OD matrix generation and census data

Inconvénients :

We cannot alter maptitude road or rail networks to generate OD data for multiple years. This is one provision maptitude should offer to its users, especially for transportation planners.

Great product and customer support

Avantages :

Its extremely user friendly and the maps are easily customized to display the information our clients are most interested in. Their customer service is second to no one and they've always worked to resolve any minor issues I've ever had.

Inconvénients :

There are some limitations with the online version but the updates they've made have made a big improvement and its only getting better

Maptitude visualize you company.

Commentaires : I'm very satisfied of the tool but also about the support that they give when we have a question or need help. They offer a great service.

Avantages :

Maptitude - the Value GIS

Commentaires : Great. I have recommended Maptitude to several people.

Avantages :

I started the Research Dept where I work and needed a GIS. Not wanting to ask for a lot of money in the startup dept, I found Maptitude. I was able to purchase it at a great price. It is also easy to learn for anyone with other GIS experience.

Inconvénients :

Some of the feature are not intuitive and I have to use the online help if I don't perform the actions frequently.

Great product for the money

Avantages :

It is a very easy product to use and the online function makes it easy to share with client.

Inconvénients :

The added data doesn't go with my maps to the online platform

Maptitude "Mic Drop"

Commentaires : The recipients of my maps are often thrilled with what I create. I love easily whipping up a map and hearing the applause! I would have to say, Maptitude makes for a great mapping experience!

Avantages :

The most important thing about this software, for me, is that I can make a beautiful map without being a computer expert! I have a very basic knowledge of navigating around my computer. Learning how to use Maptitude was not difficult.

Inconvénients :

I know this is very picky, but I use the color palette in my work and I have a hard time finding just the right shade sometimes. The selection is huge but, nevertheless, I have a difficult time choosing. I always think the color selections are too similar. Also, the color is not saturated enough for my taste.

Maptitude is the best GIS for managing mobility and transportation data.

Commentaires : I work with Maptitude on a daily basis for mobility and transport data analyses. Maptitude in its ease of use is undoubtedly the most powerful and feature-rich GIS. Thematic maps are truly unique in terms of graphic capabilities and data representation, highly appreciated by customers. With a low cost combined with an excellent training program and support service, Maptitude is an added value for my business.

Avantages :

Ease of use and computing power as well as the very rich and captivating representation of the data that can be created with the many themes available.

Inconvénients :

The legends and icon set could be graphically more modern.

Using Maptitude for Data

Commentaires : We have been able to make our data much more accessible to our clients by attaching our data to the Maptitude mapping program.

Avantages :

The ability to process large data sets.

Inconvénients :

The scaling and naming of streets sometimes makes it difficult to visually find streets. The search engine also does not deal well with misspellings.

Great GIS product

Commentaires : Maptitude is a great program. As a real estate appraiser who primarily values commercial properties, I have found the functions and data provided a great benefit in showing clients what going on in a specific area. Features such exporting data to MS Excel which can be put in my reports.

Avantages :

Maptitude is easy to learn and use. It has a great deal of data that comes with it which make it easy to create maps showing different trends in specific areas.

Inconvénients :

I have really have not found anything negative about the program. it has good documentation and the on-line learning videos are well thought out for learning.

This is exceptional software for detailed mapping of almost any kind of data, locally or nationally.

Inconvénients :

The learning curve is a little steep and I wish it was a bit more forgiving in the address format, I find that on quite a few addresses I have to modify to fit the software.

Maptitude is best Mapping Solution

Commentaires : We are able to do things with Maptitude that we had not dreamed of doing before (using MapPoint and Territory Mapper). For example, it has been extremely valuable to show our customers the density of their territory by zip code.

Avantages :

I love the flexibility. Maptitude is an extremely malleable software that can adapt to your specific business. There are so many possibilities, that you can easily create a mapping solution that perfectly meets the need of your business model.

Inconvénients :

Because Maptitude has so many possibilities, there is a learning curve with the software. It will take time to set up your maps the way you need them.

Not only is Maptitude easy to learn and low cost for a GIS software, it is quite powerful. Many features in Maptitude that might require buying a suite of products produce by other GIS software publishers. And never been stumped by a bug.

Inconvénients :

While graphic features are fine, the output is not as elegant or subtle as some of its competitors.

GIS technology for everyone

Commentaires : I have worked with Caliper products for 10 years as a transportation/urban planner and they have always fulfilled my needs. Maptitude/TransCAD software are easy to use, organized and robust: able to cope with large datasets without any problems. The user interface is very clear and easy to understand. The exchange of data and databases across several formats is also very simple and functional. The two-way direct link with Google Earth makes my projects look really interesting. I have adopted Maptitude in my GIS classes and it has been a great success with the students. They get excited in learning the geoprocessing techniques with such a technology that Maptitude provides.

Maptitude is the Best for Ease of Use and Affordability

Commentaires : I have used Maptitude exclusively in my 20+ years in health/hospital planning. It has been indispensable in my work. Mapping data oftentimes tells the story in a way other modes can't do. I was very excited at the prospect of being able to make custom maps efficiently with all the 'virtual' cartographic tools a health planner would need. Maptitude exceeded my expectations in both the product and the quality of support offered. If you know nothing about GIS and its power, and even if you do, the training is worth the money and effort.

Maptitude is an Excellent GIS Software

Commentaires : Maptitude loads quickly and is a user-friendly GIS software with excellent spatial analysis capabilities. My GIS professor prefers it to any other GIS software and is never shy in pointing out where it shines in comparison to the competition. It is much more reasonably priced as well!
