Horrible set up and scheduling is a joke. The scheduling is far from user friendly and the set up of the scheduling is awful.

CollaborateMD is just excellent..!!
Commentaires : My overall experience very good because however software is build. User friendly things makes that software great. This is just great medical billing application I have used and I would recommend it to everyone without any doubt.

CollaborateMD is one of the best application that I used in my medical billing journey. It is very user friendly. Simple and excellent.
Inconvénients :
Till now I am not able to find any glitch in this software. I just love this medical billing application.

Commentaires : Overall, it was pleasant. User friendly. Very easy on the eyes and very easy to train staff on in regards to the front office aspect of the software.
Avantages :
The scheduling platform that Collaborate offered was very user friendly and offered a lot of features that helped our practice even when we were bringing on new hires. I liked most that in scheduling/calendar area you could at a very quick glance differentiate between scheduled, checking in, rescheduled, cancelled, and no show appointments. The "appointment box" if you will call it, also provided a glance of "appointment notes" from staff such as "collect $$$ copay" or "get new ins card" etc. That feature was very helpful across our practice since our verification and billing was a separate department than our scheduling and reception. Billing was no complicated and user friendly. Initially when I started using this program I was new to everything and had never even done billing before but due to its simplicity and ease of use it was not complicated for me, a new biller, new to the software, to pick up and start billing with ease.
Inconvénients :
There were some gaps that could use some improvements. It lacked a comprehensive referral system, It lacked management access to fine tune the automations of the application such as patient reminders, patient broadcasting, same day appointment broadcasting ex. "the provider had an emergency, pls contact office to reschedule appt" or something of the sorts. Also, pt messaging features were lacking. I could not text a pt, email a pt, or anything like that from within the system.
A lot of bang for your buck
Avantages :
CollaborateMD provides great patient, claim, and financial management for its cost! I cannot recommend them enough.
Inconvénients :
Some pieces are missing for laboratory billing like client billing and invoicing.

The cons far outweighed any pros here.
Inconvénients :
The worst customer support! I was told by a CollaborateMD supervisor that at most, they have 6-7 representatives working at any given time. This is outrageous. They don't bother to re-call if the call is dropped. No genuine concern for their clients whatsoever.
Works for some, not for others
Commentaires : Overall there are good things about CMD, but honestly if I had it to do over, I would not have made the switch to this software. The training is minimal, the knowledge center leaves a lot to be desired, and the most basic daily tasks are not formatted in an intuitive way. Plus the pricing model, which sometimes dictates what we do within a month because we don't want the extra charges.
Avantages :
CMD has a lot of options for reports. I also like that you can view the patient account from many different areas.
Inconvénients :
Some of the basic functionality that you get with other billing softwares is not part of CMD. The overall flow is disconnected in favor of more options. I think it would be better to have the basic flow and then add on options and customizations from there. I also don't like that when working off a report, clicking a link to a different area and then closing that, does not return you to the report. It's just extra time and clicks to then navigate back to the report I was working off. Another major issue I have is the pricing model. Why is everything nickel and dimed to death for a billing service? Why do the providers get flat rate but we don't? Our monthly invoice can fluctuate wildly depending on how hard we work within a month.

Commentaires : We purchased this product because of its close working relationship with a clearinghouse we worked with for our desktop program. Working with the same clearinghouse was a major factor for us. A little over two years later CollaborateMD is forcing its customers to change to an inferior clearinghouse that it owns. The clearinghouse does not even support Medicare Advantage and Medicaid products in our state. We completed transition paperwork over six months ago. We are now being charge a $250 penalty per month because their own clearinghouse hasn't done its job of completing the transition.
Avantages :
The program is easy to use and provides full reporting capabilities. Truly one of the best programs out there. But the CONS are horrible.
Inconvénients :
ZERO and I mean ZERO customer service when things go wrong. Constantly overcharging. For example, an EOB will be sent through three times and you will be charged three separate times. Likewise, an eligibility check doesn't go through and you must do it again. You will be charged twice. Many remittance advises are programmed into the system incorrectly so you must open the program to correct manually. When you put in a trouble ticket, such as on the misprogrammed RAs, nothing is done.

Solid Software
Commentaires : It's good, support could be a little better but their online help is useful. Sometimes its nice to be able to speak to someone though.
Avantages :
Our capacity for using CollaborateMD has been transitioning clients off of it to our preferred billing software. We keep the accounts open to ensure that we have access to older items and so that we can work down all of the existing AR. I like the software. It is easy to use and the custom reports are so helpful and easy to use.
Inconvénients :
There isn't really anything I dislike about it, I am just much more comfortable with other systems. I think this is a good and reasonably priced software to use for small to medium sized practices. I'm not sure about all of the integration, that may be a pain point since no one we have worked with so far has had a successful integration set up.

Commentaires : In general, so far we are very happy, we like the learning center because we can use it any time we need it

Commentaires : Good but could certainly improve their customer services and timely response to issues when help is needed.
Avantages :
ease of use when generating reports, tracking claims, era posting, and eob auto insert on bills.
Inconvénients :
unable to speak with a customer service rep in a timely fashion and they want you to file a claim ticket and then track it on their software when all you want is a quick answer or use their selfhelp. If I knew the answer, I wouldn't be contacting them.
Smart Product with Great Training Support
Commentaires : I can't say enough about the support and training I received throughout setup and implementation. The trainer walked me through each phase and left no question unaddressed. By the time training was complete, I was fully equipped to work with CollaborateMD.
Avantages :
I most liked the ease of use, the flexibility in functionality, the integration with our EMR, and the visual attractiveness of the product.
Inconvénients :
I least liked the requirement to close patient information in one section before opening a different section for the same patient.
ERA posting was down for 2 weeks!
Commentaires : I am using this software because it links with my EMR but would not chose to use it otherwise.
Avantages :
online billing portal for patients is somewhat helpful but not ideal
Inconvénients :
You cannot call customer service when system is down. Slow system repair time. ERA posting is a basic function of billing software and should never be down for more than 1-2 business days. Does not have the basic feature of storing patient's credit card number on the back end so you have to enter or swipe a credit card number for every charge. Also patient's online billing portal is very basic and it is difficult for patients to track out of pocket expenses.

Great System and Staff
Commentaires : Overall, all experiences with CMD have been easy.

System if very user friendly. Tutorials and support is top notch.

Limited to one clearinghouse, does not have EHR included.
If you are a Medical biller, CMD provides all the tools you need to track your claims within the software
Commentaires : I love it. I have all the tools and support I need to get my claims paid. While using CMD, we have increase our clients revenue by a minimum of 15% and some as high as 50%.
Avantages :
They are constantly improving the software based on what we, the billers, need. Very professional and knowledgeable staff and support is at no additional charge.
Inconvénients :
CMD is a billing system. If you are looking for a more robust scheduler and other enhancements you may be disappointed. But as a biller; nothing else matters if you cannot get the claim out the door!
Commentaires : I am the biller for a psychologist and his assistant. We have a small practice with a high Medicare volume. I started looking for a program because of the rejections from Medicare. I had to do double entry; by creating the claims on a PDF formatted HCFA form to print out on the actual forms and then mailing the claims in. Once they were mailed, my provider had to wait for up to a month for reimbursement of the claims. It was costing us a fortune to create these claims! The system we were using was not meeting our needs when it came to scheduling both of the providers in the office. When we started on April 1st with CollaborateMD we were using 8.3.1 but a recent upgrade brought us up to 8.4. The upgrade was seamless and introduced the ability to assign tasks to other users (which I love!). The implementation went very fast. The data entry took about 2 weeks because I was doing it alone, but since our providers only see about 30-40 patients a week, it wasn't horrible. I did enter every patient from the old system just for the history. The training was through and I felt very supported and still do by our implementation specialist, Amanda. The only hiccup, if you will, has been with a payor denying claims that would not be denied on their own website due to a member ID number discrepancy. The customer support has been wonderful. I call or email Amanda and I get a response quickly if not right away. I have benefitted from this change because I am getting most of my payments by ERA and now submitting most every claim electronically. I only have 1 payor who is not currently accepting electronic claims submission. I am very happy with my choice in this program. My only complaint is I wish we could have done it sooner.
Essentially no customer support
Commentaires : The software is usable, but the absence of customer support presents a liability to our organization.

The software was easy to learn, but once training is complete, you are on your own. Essentially no customer support.
Inconvénients :
CollaborateMD has become the biggest problem in running my practice. No customer support, so problems will pile up and cost you time and money.
Review of CollaborateMD
Avantages :
One of the most positive things about Collaborate MD is their willingness to listen and change their software if they can and if the platform allows the change requested.
Inconvénients :
The reports on Collaborate MD seem extensive and is promoted as "write any report that you can imagine", however, writing reports that include Revenue, Receipts and Adjustment is not an option and simply can not be done. In addition, month end and year end reports are not saved on the system, should you require month end or year end information it is necessary to collect and save reports to Excel or similar software. The problem with this is predicting exactly what you may need to report 1 to 5 years or longer from now. In a "real time" environment it is difficult to balance daily reports much less monthly or annual. All input to the system must stop until you gather reports or they do not balance, if you are a 24/7 facility this can create a nightmare for accounting.

Commentaires : Easy and efficient claim submission!
Avantages :
CollaborateMD makes it easy to bill multiple claims quickly and efficiently. I like that it instantly notifies you of any errors on a claim before it is sent to the clearinghouse. Rejection reports are easy to understand and link you to the claim form to instantly make necessary corrections.
Inconvénients :
We honestly have not had much trouble with this software. I can't remember the last time we needed customer support, which is awesome!
Stay Away it will cost you money
Avantages :
The sales person I had was excellent and she knew the system. She would help with setup, as the CS hours are so short and often I couldn't speak with them. But she's left and then I had to deal with CS and that's when everything went south.
Inconvénients :
The Customer Service is horrible, hours are very short the staff is not trained. Double billing is the norm it feels like. No one will talk to you everything is a battle with them.
HAPPY WITH CHOICE

Great software for independent medical practice

It is easy to use. Easy to make appointments.
Inconvénients :
I did have problems with setting up claims initially. Unable to check for insurance eligibility.
Do not use this company, their customer service is rude and not helpful at all

Where do I start. So many issues with this company and getting ERA set up, they are horrible. We will not put another client on this software due to this.
