En savoir plus sur Valant EHR Suite
La suite de dossier médical partagé et de gestion de cabinet de Valant dédiée à la santé comportementale offre aux cliniciens des outils permettant d'améliorer les soins aux patients et d'augmenter les revenus.
I think this particular software is a good value for the money, it does have glitches and there are things that I have not received a satisfactory answer for, but overall, it is a good program.
Initially, it was difficult to use. Once the team made some much needed updates and I was able to learn the new interface, I actually prefer valant.io to the other system.

Great Move to a new EHR
Commentaires : The reports are incredible. It also allows my staff to complete comprehensive notes in minutes rather than hours.
Avantages :
The customer service is incredible. The program is intuitive and able to handle multiple functions. With the onboarding staff you can customize the options to fit your practice needs.
Inconvénients :
Large learning curve but completely worth it.

Expensive for solo practices
Commentaires : Customer service was slow to respond and/or didn't respond at all. It takes some getting used to. Valant was a functional ERA but it was too "much" for me being a solo provider which resulted in it being too expensive.
Avantages :
Billing was easy. It auto-posts ERA. They offer the ability to customize note templates. Valant offers reminders either through text or email.
Inconvénients :
For a solo practice it was expensive and offered a lot of features a solo provider doesn't need. The treatment plan tool wasn't as smooth as I thought it would be. It took a lot of time to setup and complete the training before using. The cost of Valant is separate from the cost of using a clearing house.

Great to start
Commentaires : As a solo practice I am able to add providers or support staff easily at a cost of course, billing has not been the best but they use Change health which has its own problems, This is a great starter EHR which is growing and keeps upgrading so I have not changed in hopes of more upgrades like reports that are useful
Avantages :
I find it east to use, the finished notes look good and read well, macros work well, the new patient portal looks very professional, lots of upgrades in the past year, customer service has improved, enjoy the training videos
Inconvénients :
cost continues to go up, new features cost more if you want to use them, there are delays and bugs when new upgrades happen which can be disruptive to workflow,
Alexis
A scam with horrible customer service
Avantages :
The patient portal and ability to request appointments is a great feature.
Inconvénients :
The software continues to have issues on a regular basis and the support team is either unreachable or does not give clear answers. I have been in contact with customer service and support about a serious documentation sever error that has extended for over a month with very little to no communication from Valant and I have had to be a constant nag to get anyone to answer me regularly. Completely unacceptable and unethical when dealing with a documentation software.

valant EHR
Avantages :
I think this particular software is a good value for the money, it does have glitches and there are things that I have not received a satisfactory answer for, but overall, it is a good program.
Inconvénients :
It could be more user-friendly. For example, the interface with Dr. first, is not always smooth and there are issues which has not been resolved

Exceptional Software and Exceptional Performance
Commentaires : I have recommend Valant to all of my group practices because I know it will help them to be more lucrative and minimize hours worked by staff. I am very satisfied with Valant.
Avantages :
What I like most about the software is the way I can fluidly maneuver through the screens with ease and that I can have multiple tabs up at the same time.
Inconvénients :
I don't necessarily have a con but it would be great to integrate Telehealth Services capabilities within the software.

Truly Can't Function Without Valant
Commentaires : When I switched from one company with Valant to my current office who wasn't using Valant, I felt lost because I was now working with a system that was working against us. It didn't take long before I knew what this practice needed and it was Valant. If we ever had IT issues, Valant was one call and maybe 2 rings away.
Avantages :
The ease of this software allows everyone to feel like masters of their EHR system. Being able to know exactly where to find the information you are looking for within a chart and being able to trust that the system works with you to ensure accuracy has given all of our staff an increase in confidence and allows us to spend more time with our clients.
Inconvénients :
I truly wish there was something I didn't like about Valant so this could be an unbiased review, but after working with many other systems.. they can't compare to the system and support you get with Valant.

Unduly burdensome, lacking need documentation
Commentaires : I cannot be done with it soon enough
Avantages :
Easy for revenue management.
Inconvénients :
The clinical forms are unwieldy, lack logical flow and structure of information and the treatment plan goals and objectives do not pull into the progress notes. It is nearly impossible to figure out documenting a telephone call. There is no termination/discharge note. To add information to sections of notes, you must click between tabs. Overall for clinical documentation, it is subpar. It does not meet the requirements of my state's department of human services guidelines.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
Commentaires : We have had problems with getting any customer service and help with technical issues. They have told us for at least 2 years that an upgrade was coming to the system so we did not change after the first year because we were holding out, but now it has been too long and we are seeking a new provider.
Avantages :
Ease of use with scheduling and documenting
Inconvénients :
If you ever want to add a user, make changes, have questions for support they take weeks to respond and typically do not resolve your issue. We have had problems with the e-prescribe since day one (3 years ago) and it has yet to be resolved. We have also been told since day one that they were upgrading the system soon so that other features like payment online could be taken and we are still waiting on this.

Valant EHR Suite: An Innovative and Comprehensive Solution for Medical Professionals
Commentaires : Valant EHR Suite offers a variety of features to help medical professionals manage their patient records, document their notes, schedule appointments, and more. The user interface is not as intuitive as some other software solutions, but once you learn how to use the software, it is quite powerful. Overall, I would recommend Valant for those who are looking for a comprehensive and user-friendly software solution.
Avantages :
Valant EHR Suite is designed to help medical professionals manage their patient records, document their notes, schedule appointments, and more. It offers customizable templates, task-management tools, and workflow automation to help streamline the medical office workflow. These features make it an excellent choice for medical professionals looking for a comprehensive and easy-to-use software solution.
Inconvénients :
Valant EHR Suite can be difficult to learn and use, especially for new users. The system can be slow and unresponsive at times, which can be frustrating for users. It requires some technical knowledge to understand the more advanced features, and the user interface is not as intuitive.

WARNING: Do Not Choose This EHR
Commentaires : If it wasn't such a tremendous undertaking to switch EHR's, I would have already stopped using Valant. The only thing good about this EHR at this point is being able to send clinical measures to patients.
Avantages :
I liked the clinical measures that can be sent to patients prior to each visit.
Inconvénients :
This EHR has gone through multiple changes trying to be better and it has progressively gotten worse over the years. Most recently, we had to switch the entire platform to the IO version. The new version is like a beta test site. The most problematic area is the billing feature. We are consistently having to contact support to let them know the issues that we are finding and are repeatedly told that they know and are working on it. My office staff has wasted numerous hours on the phone with customer support. Then we end up having to go back into the old system to fix the issues that were created by the new platform. From a provider perspective, trying to document has been a nightmare in the new platform too. This software isn't 2015 certified either which has resulted in problems with one of our payers. We have encountered too many problems to list.

THIS IS THE EMR TO USE if you're in Behavioral Healthcare
Commentaires : Excellent experience. COVID provided unique challenges that effected everyone, but since the adoptions of out of office workflows and how Valant accommodates and facilitates everything has been great
Avantages :
Total functionality of having everything in one place. Billing, Portal functions, implementation of VBC and outcome measures and rating scales. Valant's integrated Outcome Measures have allowed us to increase our insurance reimbursements more than 20% using 96127 as an add on code. I couldn't really use 96127 without Valant's functionality. Additionally, the ability to share outcome measure data directly with patients have helped us increase patient adherence to medication and treatment plans, translating to more opportunities for more patients. As a result of our increased reimbursement rate, my Prescribers all get paid more via their % split and I can afford to pay a higher tier salary to my therapists - ALL OF WHICH HELPS RETAIN MY PROVIDERS b/c I'M PAYING THEM HIGHER THAN MARKET ANNUAL PAY. RE: Documentation - Therapists at our practice, prior to Valant, would take 1.5 hours to write up an intake note, now our Therapists can complete their intake note in 25-30 minutes, because the intake questionnaires and screeners populate directly from Valant's portal (where the clients complete their intake forms) into the intake note. When my therapists open their intake note, many of the sections are prepopulated - so my therapists NO LONGER HAVE TO REGURGITATE CONTENT FROM INTAKE FORMS INTO THEIR INTAKE NOTE. Valant does this for me automatically. No Show Rates have dropped significantly due to Valant's Messaging Tool. RE: Claims - we have greater than 99% success rate
Inconvénients :
Only one thing, There are some bugs in the telehealth that need some ironing out. I understand there's new functionality being released in July '22. Look forward to that.

Finally an excellent EMR program!
Commentaires : I am pleased our practice is using Valant and find it has my personal practice viable. I have used the most expensive to the free versions of other software companies, both in private practice and in hospital. I find Valant the finest product I have used. Objectively, no program is perfect, any more than there is such a thing as a perfect Clinician. However, in researching other EMR programs, I feel confident in saying that Valant is the best of the best. I have been using computers in my practice since my start in Family Practice in 1986, during the days of "DOS". Valant is an example of what can be achieved with a great team of programmers and support personnel! This will be a well spent investment in your practice.
Avantages :
This is my ninth EMR I have had to learn and use. Out of all I have used in my 41 years of practice, this is the finest. It is well designed, well supportive and serves us well in a General Psychiatry and Psychology practice. Both the Therapists and Prescribing Clinicians have adapted well to it, and I as a Prescribing Physician Assistant find it an excellent way to follow and care for my patients. I cannot speak to the billing module, however the clinical sections are near perfect. I have even owned a self contained EMR that remained resident on my laptop prior to Internet Cloud based programs. Valant far exceeds my needs and expectations for a program for a Psychiatric program.
Inconvénients :
The so called "Patient Portal" does not integrate with the patient's chart and must be under development as it is not yet in the newest "IO platform". That appears to be the only deficit I have experienced thus far after using Valant for over four years.

Difficult to navigate; difficult to get support
Commentaires : Unfortunately Valant has caused more problems than it has solved.
Avantages :
I don't find any pros about this software. It has no features that I use that any other software wouldn't have so it doesn't set itself apart, in my experience with it.
Inconvénients :
Customer support services are typically met with "we don't offer that" or "we can't help you with that." You get different answers depending on what support person you talk to. Often times the most effective way for the system to work is not discovered until we have a problem and then we're told about how we can get it to function properly...why doesn't it function properly to begin with? Navigating through the screens is cumbersome. Getting any kind of information requires generating tedious reports which takes multiple steps to do. The appointment reminder feature is ineffective at times as it still sends an appointment reminder if you have a code in the appointment i.e. you change the code to a cancelled but it still sends an appointment reminder. This has caused confusion for patients and staff. If you make a mistake and select a progress note template you didn't want, you can't deselect it so you have to use that template even though you don't want it. It has malfunctioned several times and appointments were lost or randomly placed on the schedule on incorrect days and times with the wrong providers. This caused great confusion with over 25 appointments lost and a whole day with the doctor not knowing who was coming in.

Buyer beware.
Commentaires : Valant unilaterally extended us for 12 months, when we were a few months away from closing out our account with them (with Valant's tech team assisting our switch, and business side aware) - and they sent the "renewal notification" to a random person who was not ever a part of our practice. We are contesting their charges with the bank, filing a complaint with the better business bureau, and will proceed to court if necessary. It has been an unfortunate and unprofessional experience dealing with Valant, not to mention we were also dissatisfied with the product. Buyer beware.
Avantages :
We found the product lacking overall. The functionality of the documentation side is too limited, including features related to MACRA/Meaningful Use.
Inconvénients :
We found the EMR to be lacking compared to more robust alternatives, and therefore decided to change to another product. Then we also had very serious issues thereafter, with Valant unilaterally extending us for 12 months, as we were about to close out our transition to the other EMR vendor. (Valant's tech team was assisting us with the switch, and business/customer-service side was aware). This was an unprofessional, despicable money grab. Why would we extend with Valant for 12 months, when we were a few months away from closing our account?

Reliable software, but outdated interface and surpassed in features by competitors.
Commentaires :
I have used Valant for almost 3 years and I am considering moving to a different EHR system. I have been told a complete redesign is in the works, however, they offer no details, time table or roadmap. Here are some of my thoughts
Pros:
The claims submission/reporting process is very reliable and easy and the primary reason I still use them. The online measures are very good and helpful although many of them have bugs. Pricing is OK. Customer service is fantastic and their training is excellent. They will have you up and running quickly.
Cons:
It is primarily oriented towards psychiatrists, so many of the templates and features a focused on psychiatrists, not psychologists or therapists. Many of the other features have bugs, limited usefulness and the program is slow and the interface is very outdated and inconsistent. In many ways it reminds of of Windows 98, that is how outdated it is. The mobile notes feature is cumbersome and has no ability to customize it to your usage; the calendar syncs one-way only with external calendars so you must log in to Valant to make changes; reminders only work in the Valant system and only remind you on the dashboard with a note (there are no reminders at all really and they must be tied to a client so you can't add reminders for things that are not directly related to a client which requires you to maintain two separate calendars); the "mobile" application is little more than a webpage with basic information in a text format, it's is not designed for mobile devices, the interface is horrible and looks and functions as if it is 15 years out of date and has little functionality, it is more of an afterthought; you can't customize mobile notes templates or choose which ones you want to use, whenever you use a mobile note you are blasted by 30 different tabs 25 of which won't apply to therapists and which makes a confusing and messy experience; claims processing is expensive (.60/claim by my calculations) and the competition is charging between .14 and .25.
In general most of the basic features you need are there and work, but they are frustrating at times and lack many additional features that are natural to need. My primary concern is after 2+ years there has been little change in the software and the value is being reduced as they are falling behind in features and functionality.

Valant Behavioral Health
Commentaires : I have been using Valant EHR for Behavioral health for approximately 11 months now. I struggled with this company at first as is typical in my experience with the sales staff wanting to hurry up and close the sale. I was left with a few questions hanging. I use an ipad, iphone and Macbook pro. As you can see, I am exclusively and apple user. This made the difference for me. There was one EHR that really had most of what I wanted, minus the apple support. It was PIMSY. I have probably tried 20 EHR types, ranging from FREE to paid. This one iis monthly for one provider. I do not like the fact that they want to charge monthly for a login for my assiantant. Again I am a solo practitioner, so every little bit does count. I DO like the fact that an intake/Psychiatrist Diagnostic Evaluation is already preloaded with screeners, automatic scoring and auto generated reports that you can modify!! I do NOT like their Treatment Plan Template. Definitely something that they need to work on. HOWEVER, they seem to be making changes based upon the feedback that I and others have left. So that is good to know.
Avantages :
I absolutely appreciate the intake information is so well implemented. I can capture just about everything with minimal typing. I also appreciate the fact that there are so many screening tools that AUTOMATICALLY give the results. I can customize those results as well. Very good job on this part!
Inconvénients :
I really do not like the Treatment Plan Template. It is not intuitive or very well prepopulated for convenience. It seems to take longer than hand writing one. HOWEVER there was a recent update that has addresses some of my concernes. I have not had much of an opportunity to check this out. I do not like the fact that it is so difficult to upload documents if you are using a mobile device such as an ipad/iphone. A photo screen capture would be great!

EHR for psychiatric mental health private practice
Commentaires : I explored several different EHR's this time around. Price point and feature comparisons led me to choose Valant and I would choose this over again above the other options available.
Avantages :
This is my second time using Valant. I especially like the intake questionnaires and follow up measures that can be completed prior to visits and pull into each note. This feature saves time in documentation and frees up time during the visit to spend with patients. I like the way it is designed specifically for BH/MH. The prescribing feature is easy to use. The tech support services have greatly improved since the first time I used Valant. They are patient and knowledgeable whenever I have questions or need help walking through different issues.
Inconvénients :
The most challenging part has been learning the practice management side and accepting payments using Elavon services.

Worthless piece of crap
Commentaires : Today I cannot access ANY thing on Valant - the patients phone numbers to call them, the names of the patients I will be losing an entire day of income and good will thanks to them, I would use ANYTHING but Valantl Run the other way!
Avantages :
None. It breaks down ALL the time, the wait times on customer support are hours.
Inconvénients :
I would not wish this on my worst enemy. The quality is terrible, it breaks down at least once a month, it's impossible to order labs or get results without also having to print it out and send it to the patient. It doesn't just go into quests system. Dr. First is abominable and cumbersome. It is almost impossible and takes about 5 steps to see all the meds that you wrote at the last visit. You have to constantly represcribe each med individually as it won't let you prescribe old meds in groups when they have decided they have expired - though you said you would
Peter
Antiquated and obsolete
Commentaires : If you are an applied behavior analyst or you need to bill in a time-based way (e.g., units) the scheduling software does not "understand" this process and therefore auth tracking and claims, etc. is not as easy as it could be.
Avantages :
The EHR is relatively complete in terms of features, and the claims submission process is simple. The software provides a level of configurability in terms of user access that is unafforded by many competitors.
Inconvénients :
The system utilizes Microsoft Silverlight, and although the company is adamant that it has a solution that is web-based "in the pipeline," I have been a Valant user for over 2 years and the new system has not been made available to me. I can only assume it is because we are a very small practice and do not meet their bottom-line requirements for moving my data to the new system. I will be moving on once my contract is up.

Literally Zero Customer Support, Especially Accounting Dept.
Commentaires : customer service is severely lacking, especially their accounting department, who will never answer the phone or call you back if you need to dispute a charge
Avantages :
easy to use, affordable, effective, incorporates billing and scheduling
Inconvénients :
They will continue charging you even after you cancel the service. You cannot get their accounting department on the phone. And they only respond to emails sporadically. It's ridiculous. Basically I have to dispute the charges with Visa in order to get the funds back.

Professional-looking notes...when we can get it to work
Commentaires : Great notes, cloud-based integrated notes and billing
Avantages :
I really like the way the therapy notes are laid out. Check boxes make charting easy and professional, especially when remarking on suicidality. I have had positive comments from MDs and attorneys.
Inconvénients :
This year we have had frequent Silverlight errors. We have had to uninstall and reinstall Silverlight, reboot Firefox and the computer, and find that solution sometimes works, but sometimes doesn't. It won't work on Chrome. It's expensive and I've lost a lot of productivity dealing with these errors. We are looking forward to the end of our contract so we can switch.
Sheri
Mediocre EMR with spotty customer service
Avantages :
Patient notifications of appointments were included in price; there was a mobile option for accessing it; the appearance was modern and nice
Inconvénients :
Reporting functions were very confusing and ambigous; costly and very inflexible with terms of agreement (e.g. couldn't reduce number of clinicians); had to go to multiple screens to try to explain billing to clients; patient portal cumbersome; no virtual paperwork options; had frequent errors in scheduling where things done just didn't "stick" in the system; customer service reps didn't always respond timely; had to pay extra every time we onboarded a therapist
Sheri
Take the good with the bad
Commentaires : There are many things I like about Valant, such as the overall look and navigation. However, after having used it for 5 years, I have found some chronic problems. The most impactful issue is that sometimes our appointments "undo" themselves. Either they were entered in and then disappear or they are deleted and reappear. I assume this is related to the syncing from our computers back to their servers. Maybe their servers are too slow, I don't know. The other major issue is that the processing of the website is super slow quite often. It gets bogged down and after clicking on a button, it the "spin" for quite a while before either doing something or erroring out. Customer support isn't any help, which is very frustrating. Another issue is the lack of clarifying in their reporting. They have a large number of reports to choose from but very little information on what the report means, what info it is pulling front, and how to interpret it (some of the reports seem very obscure). I don't like that I can add providers but they have a policy against removing them. I don't like that I have to pay a large chunk of money every time I onboard and therapist for the billing set up. These are my biggest complaints. After having demo'd a number of other EMRs over the past month, I am finding other EMRs having some nice functionalities that Valant doesn't offer.
Inconvénients :
Doesn't have a way for patients to fill out intake & consent online Really hard to understand statements Cannot subtract users (financially)
Therese
EASY. EASY. EASY. I Love it. Most Comprehensive Product. My Office Staff LOVE IT.
Avantages :
Clinical templates make it very easy for me to document. Billing is tightly integrated. Good streamlining with the meds. EPCS is easy, easy, easy. My clients like that I can interact with them while documenting, and able to maintain good rapport with clients.
Inconvénients :
Silverlight has to go. Look forward to January '20 in getting onto chrome. Thank you for prioritizing the update and upgrade!
