Perfect PM platform for subcontractors!

Commentaires : We're extremely pleased with eSub. The timecard function is great, getting project information to our Superintendents and Foremen is immeasurable. I really like the submittal, Change Order, and RFI functions.

Avantages :

Too many Pros to list here. The submittal process is quick and easy, and very professional. Change orders are a snap. RFI's can be started by our field leaders on the eSub app, and finished by the PM in the office. All of these have a great tracking system through the log provided. All logs can be exported into Excel to be sent to GC's or CM's. We use the Sage 300 connector, and all project financials are current in our projects on eSub. There's a cost to complete function that is a great way to get an idea of how the project will finish. Nearly all this information is available to our field users through the app, which gives them all the project information.

Inconvénients :

Not really a Con, but it would be nice if the PO function would sync both ways through the Sage 300 connector. I believe that's a Timberline issue, though. Still, using eSub PO allows a real time look at committed costs against our project estimate.

Commentaires : Esub has ben a great addition for us. We are heavy users of the Submittals module, time tracking and Purchase Order modules. We are now making a more concerted effort to learn the intricacies of job costing and more detailed project management.

Avantages :

Esub has ben a great addition for us. it helps us to track all of our projects in one place ee electronically, as opposed to dozens of binders.

Inconvénients :

The software has been improved over the years. There were frustrations with the time management module and QuickBooks integration, but these have been improved now.

Avantages :

It's online. It has a visual graphic to represent hours used versus budget

Inconvénients :

Phases are not listed numerically, along with many other things where it would make sense. Unable to copy an employees timecard over from the previous week- or hold a default timecard that you could fill in - with an appearance like an excel sheet which would save a lot of time for entry. Unable to export phases for time keeping- which causes manual entry at the end. Everything has to be manually entered.

Commentaires : From when I personally started using eSUB, back in 2015, I have never felt uneasy about the software. I have always had the confidence in using the software because of the very first and initial meeting, deployment, and support I have received from the eSUB support team and those special people who have managed our account! When you take the time to show a customer/user how your product can impact their productivity and success in a positive way, you've gained more than their business, you've gained loyalty!

Avantages :

Our 7 year partnership with eSUB has been an inspiring one! Over the years we have seen improvements in the software and when we have questions, concerns, or need further instruction for use of eSUB, we are able to get a response and dedicated support!

Inconvénients :

The software currently is not fully customizable, but we have been assured that this is all changing once eSUB 2.0 is fully released and available for us to deploy all phases.

Good Software

Avantages :

I typically use E-sub to generate submittals, purchase orders and change orders. It's super effective for this, as i can attach documents to the submittal as well and it helps keep me organized and have all of my submittals in one place.

Inconvénients :

Sometimes the software can be glitchy and will not allow me to add certain files/takes a long time to load.

Exceptional product !

Commentaires : This product is great all around in terms of use , filing and be able to send them electronically to general contractors is a huge plus . We use the notes sections for progress photos or photos of delays . I can even title daily reports on days where i have rain days or days I do my safety meetings . It’s helped our company as a whole be more efficient with paper work filing and time spent filling out papers making copies as well as storing progress photos . We recently started using the calendar for milestones and it’s going to help even more !

Avantages :

Ease of use and being able to share and explain this program to other contractors that I reoffend this to . They love getting our daily reports via email with the breakdowns of manpower and detailed descriptions of work preformed .

Inconvénients :

There are a few minor things I spoke with Customer Service about . Main thing I’d like to see is notifications and reminders from calendar but all in all very pleased with esub .

We use eSUB for submittal, RFI & change order management

Commentaires : It helps us streamline some of our procedures, such as change order and submittal management and provides good recordkeeping.

Avantages :

I can only speak on the features that we use. My favorite aspect is change order management. It is very organized and user friendly, especially when making revisions. I like that the revisions are grouped together on the change order log, makes it easy to find them. RFI management is nice and clean as well.

Inconvénients :

I think the submittal log could be organized a bit better. I would prefer it to be organized just like the change order log. If there's a revision, keep it grouped together on the log rather than moving the revision up to the top. I find myself searching around the log too much to find submittals that were revised.

Great customer support and lots of help to organize and streamline our company

Commentaires : The benefits are amazing! We can see reports and real time accomplishments from the jobsite to the office. Communication is at an all time high. I can track job costing and estimates and be able to see the job from conception to completion without skipping a beat. This software program has helped us become more organized and cost efficient. I would recommend this to everyone! Thank you!

Avantages :

I can see everything with my phone and anything I need is just a few keys away! Job costing, employee info and tracking is fantastic!

Inconvénients :

Teaching new employees how to use esub can sometimes be difficult. Also- it would be good to know everything that esub is capable of. I see that Esub now has an Esub academy and I feel like that would be very helpful.

eSub is a streamlined software for subcontractors!

Commentaires : Project management was made much easier with eSub. The ability for all relevant staff to access the information was priceless. It was great being able to assign different roles to different users so individuals only saw the information relevant to their position. Our clients liked receiving correspondence through eSub since attachments come through with a clear subject line and PDF file.

Avantages :

Ability to customize and send CORs and EWOs, as well as have a record of all emails related to the COR or EWO. It was easy to create and send these to our clients and track any approvals, revisions, or rejections.

Commentaires : The verification of work completed, with story of what was happening on job. The ability to see the progress of each job everyday.

Avantages :

The easy to see what is happening on every job with daily report, job site pictures to verify the reports, tracking progress of the job from the budget to the finish. To verify your milestones to check with each department to find out if we are ahead or behind on the project.

Inconvénients :

We would like to set-up the budgets and have them transfer into Quick Books Enterprise at this time it's all double entry. Transfer fabrication / pull list from quick book enterprise to Esub for verifying on budget for materials and equipment charges to job. This would then make pre-billing worksheets a breeze.

Avantages :

Our use of the system centers around time tracking, daily reports and change order tracking. The system works well for all three. We looked at other systems last year and this was the most robust that fit our needs as a subcontractor.

Inconvénients :

I would like more flexibility on timecard management, custom reports for example. I would also like to be able to provide a simple invoice instead of a pay application when we are in a purchase order situation as opposed to a contract.

Commentaires : We STILL HAVE TO USE OUR ACCOUNTING SYSTEM AND THEY DO NOT COMMUNICATE....SOMETHING WE ARE WORKING ON INTEGRATING

purchasing is really easy to direct emails to the vendor and project managers

Inconvénients :

Maybe NOT AS MANY CUSTOM REPORTS AVAILABLE. SUBCONTRACTS WOULD BE NICE IF WE COULD SAVE OUR WRITTEN CONTRACT AND WITH THE VENDOR CONTACT INFORMATION AND PRICING HAVE IT AUTO FILL TO OUR CUSTOM FORM....MAYBE YOU CAN DO THAT AND I JUST NEED MORE TRAINING TO UTILIZE IT.

Avantages :

I like the ease of use for the field and their ability to enter time along with upload dailies and pics.

Inconvénients :

I wish there was more ways to run reports. Especially, a report that would detail the A/R and retention amounts. I also wish you could port over subcontractor costs to QuickBooks.

eSub is well worth the expense

Avantages :

The greatest benefit I see in eSub is the way it takes tasks that are moderately complicated and simplifies them, making the work we do much more efficient. I also am impressed with the tracking abilities of multiple documents, which greatly helps the organization of our department.

Inconvénients :

Being logged out after a time and having to log back in, especially when in the middle of drafting a document.

Commentaires : Great tool, love it. The learning curve is VERY steep but worth it. I am hoping for a better user interface, more features and more customizable features in 2.0

Avantages :

Organizing, submitting and tracking submittals, RFIs and CORs. The PO module is also very convenient, but should be more customizable.

Inconvénients :

It would take too long to get into specific details but there needs to be more ability to customize. This goes for pretty much all documents and modules.

Avantages :

How easy it is to use and how quickly you can get from job select to entering time or whatever else you need to get to.

Inconvénients :

It took me awhile to figure out how to print off a weekly time sheet for all my workers to see and make sure they have the correct amount of hours worked that week.

Avantages :

The way it's tailored towards sub-contractors is a plus. A lot of other software solutions are geared towards GC's. The ability to share information is great, office and field are both synced. Makes you adapt one method of creating and maintaining documents is a plus.

Inconvénients :

Their tech support is helpful but the resolutions is always "we'll let our developer look at it and we'll get back to you" which in my experience can take several weeks. There is no ticketing system for the items I've submitted that are issues. It's up to me to remind them that i have outstanding issues and to get the status on them. In the amount of time we have been using the software, we've experienced more than the expected amount of issues. We've experience two times where the system was "down" which is pretty much unacceptable if this software solution is the to be the lifeline of your document system. We were told that the software is customize-able and while that is true in some aspects, it's not completely true. I've inquired about customization and I'm having a hard time getting it rolling.
