Simple, easy to use, just play with the program for a while and you will get it.

Simple and amazing software!

Avantages :

As a used bookstore we have utilized the customer features to track book credits. This allows us to see when our customers were last in and contact info to get them back! Simple and easy to use!!

Inconvénients :

There is little I don't like about this software.. it's a software that it always in evolution. Having consistency when having doing reports... A default selection choice would be nice...

Avantages :

Today, we wanted to fix a number of problems that have existed and had no time to troubleshoot. With the help of a friend who is in IT - [sensitive content hidden] helped us to figure out that our second computer was hanging (not printing receipts) because of a hardware interrupt - caused by discontinuing the cash drawer. For 3 years this problem existed; it took the diligence and knowledge that [sensitive content hidden] possessed to fix this problem.

Mostly good, with a few major frustrations.

Commentaires : Ease of checking out customers and keeping track of inventory.

Avantages :

Pretty simple and explanatory interface. Not difficult to teach new hires how to use. Tech support is usually pretty speedy and efficient.

Inconvénients :

Every time there's an update with the software or with Windows 10, we have to call tech support because something becomes incompatible or switched off. Also unhappy that we started out being able to use our POS as a touch screen, and when Windows 10 became the operating system, it was no longer able to operate as touch screen, tacking on time to our checkout speed. Some of the report functions are a bit tedious to use. Many customers unhappy that we can't tell them how far along in the loyalty program they are without us doing some major research; wish it was just automatically tracked in their account.

RetailEdge is the POS to use

Commentaires : Using RetailEdge to keep track of sales, inventory, and run needed reports. Very positive experience.

Avantages :

It is easy to add products and / or make changes to existing products. You can run many types of reports to get whatever information you might need at any given time. Tech support is the BEST! (Thanks, Raymond!!!)

Inconvénients :

So far the biggest issue is adjusting to the newer look when updates hapen - last one moved the product tabs to the side from the top.

Commentaires : I've always found the support team to be very friendly and helpful over the years that we've needed them. They're always willing to help with whatever issue we face.

Avantages :

The POS system is easy to use and as functional for our mobile store.

Inconvénients :

Occasionally we have issues with our day end reports, they tend to duplicate the days sales.

Avantages :

[sensitive content hidden] was incredibly helpful. Very patient and knowledgeable. We RARELY use our Gold service but when we do it is CRITICAL to us. So thank you for supporting us.

Inconvénients :

In the past some of the support staff has assumed that we have no clue about anything. We may not be software engineers but at least we know our business. This has not been a problem in years, so apparently you fixed the problem.

Commentaires : [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] was great helping set up the software, training me on how to enter inventory and use it for everyday use. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] was also great along the way answering all my questions and helped us order our gift cards, which we love! The technical support team has been amazing and is always eager to help! They even find problems before you do. Everyone I have come in contact with has been friendly and helpful. I can't say enough great things about this software and how amazing it has been for my retail store. I implemented Retail Edge from day 1 and I am so happy I did! Especially with the pandemic. If I did not have the seamless integrated with Shopify, I can't say I would still be open today. That really saved me and kept customers thinking about my store! I can't say enough good things about Retail Edge!!

Avantages :

Retail Edge is so easy to use! The checkout process is straightforward and hard to make a mistake. The integration with Shopify is great for my business because I have the same inventory instore and online. The reporting is amazing to help analyze my business. The gift cards Retail Edge offers are nice to offer to customers and easy to use when checking out. The purchase order section is great for retail because you can easily see what hasn't come in and what you should cancel. I also like that the Retail Edge team is constantly updating the software and staying up to date so you don't have to. I have used most features that Retail Edge offers and I love most of them!

Inconvénients :

I love so much about this software but if I had to change anything it would be to make the security feature easier to use. I want to be able to lock the sales manager so employees can not see how much money is made, which you can do, but every time I lock it, I mess something else up. Also, one thing I have run into with the online integration is when people buy gift cards in store and want to use them online and vice versa. If there was some way to make gift cards able to use both instore and online, that would be awesome! So, just making those things easier would be so helpful and make this software perfect for my business!

Feature Rich, Robust & Easy to Use Store Management Software

Commentaires : In investigating RE, I emailed the company many, many times. I always got a prompt, complete reply that covered all of my concerns. They were patient and helped me transfer data twice, as the new computer crashed and had to be repaired, then the software reinstalled. In refining the program for my vitamin shop, they have been helpful every step of the way, often offering solutions from their own experience using RE.

Avantages :

-soft learning curve -excellent reports -feature rich -extreme value for the price - wicked awesome support -easy to update inventory

Inconvénients :

- minor tweaks that may well be built in later- just getting used to another system, nothing really against RE

Excellent Product

Commentaires : Oh! This has been a great experience for managing inventory and for processing sales in a professional manner. Both for the customer and cashier's experience.

Avantages :

I like that I have the option of Free email tech support and that updates are reasonably priced via the bronze package. The replies are always courteous and helpful. Plus, I know that I have the paid one off tech support service which I used once due to the urgency of the issue. I can't complain about the actual software because I am extremely satisfied.

Inconvénients :

I wish that I could refund a store credit via cash instead of only being able to apply it to an invoice. Sometimes, I need to refund a customer their store credit and I have to do lots of work arounds. It would be nicer to have a totally revamped discount system. I find creating promotions and renewing them tedious. The options are adequate, but the interface is not user-friendly for regular changes... it just needs to be an easier faster process for the person inputting the promotions. Again, possibly a total revamp instead of updates. Maybe an up-loadable spread sheet would be an option as there are sometimes so many items to create promotions for that my ability to create promotions becomes frustrating.

Avantages :

I like customer support. They are awesome and have always been there for us. I will definitely recommendThier gold plan it is worth having.

I really have no complaints other then I need more time in the day to use all the reports I could be using.

RetailEdge is Essential!

Commentaires : RetailEdge has been pretty flawless for me, and the rare occasions I've needed assistance, I was taken care of promptly by their team. Everyone has been very professional, and I've never felt "rushed" off the phone when needed support. They take their time, explain things thoroughly, and are kind in the process.

Avantages :

I love how easy it is to navigate, and customize different reports. It's great to be able to really "drill down" into the inventory and get all sorts of useful data on products. This has been a HUGE help in determining which items to stock more of, and which ones to let go. It really streamlines my inventory! I also love to customize the setup for multiple users, so not every employee has access to all the features. There's nothing it can't do so far!

Inconvénients :

I'm having trouble thinking of anything I really don't like... The one thing I wish it did, is have the ability to attach a "time-sensitive" note for individual customers. Similar to the "note" that pops up when selecting a customer account, I wish there was a feature that could let me know when their professional license expires (or is getting close to expiring), so I would be automatically prompted to ask for their updated copy.

Retail Edge for Everyday POS

Commentaires : We have been using RetailEdge since 1995 as our primary POS system. The program has been rock solid (which is why we're still using it) and customer support has never let us down. So the program has it's hiccups, again we find the work a round which makes it worth it since we can't afford to have any 'down time' on our POS or simply put... cash register with customer tracking, inventory management, and daily sales reporting.

Avantages :

Customer Tracking, Inventory Management, Report Generation and Shopify (E-Commerce) Integration are all super important in our daily use of RetailEdge.

Inconvénients :

Some features are a little cumbersome, but there is usually a work around ie... Assigning multiple vendors to an SKU, Apply a multi tier discount structure to a group of items, ie... sell 1 sticker for $3.5, 2 stickers for $3, 4 stickers for $10. Unfortunately program is not able to do this. Have a feature for service work where customer's items can be tracked like skis in for a tune or bikes in for tune-ups.

Avantages :

RetailEdge has a very easy to learn and use interface that is capable of doing anything we have needed or thought about needing for our retail store and paintball playing fields. Everything from gift cards, layaway, house charges, multiple clerks with security options, multiple locations, inventory, PO's, integrated credit card processing, customer management, great reporting, barcodes/UPC, 3rd party integrations for online sales, and more! You name it, RetailEdge pretty much integrates it into their program. We also subscribe to their gold level service plan which includes regular updates and priority call in help which is rarely needed but a great peace of mind in case we do need assistance. Their tech support is all in house in America so they are easy to work with and don't rush you off the phone. We have always had courteous professional service when needing support or asking questions. They have also built us some custom software to help RetailEdge integrate with some online marketplace needs that we had prior to releasing it to the public. After 15+ years of doing business with RetailEdge they continue to do a great job, offer great service, and keep updating the program to make it better year after year. We couldn't ask for much more!

Happy user for 7+ years

Commentaires : RE was purchased about 20 years ago when the business first opened, and I have been here for about 7 years. RE is easy to use, easy to understand, easy to make adjustments as the business grows. Customer service has been great, even though we are on the freebie plan, and they are responsive to my emails as I've grown into the managerial role and my responsibilities have increased.

Avantages :

I like that RE is all we need for inventory management, POS, reports, etc. It's easy to use, even for new hires, and easy for me as a manager to adjust as needs change.

Inconvénients :

I can't think of any cons, because it does everything we need it to.

New to the retail environment, starting your own brick & mortar store.... this software is for you!

Commentaires : This software gives us great reporting features and allows us to fully understand our growing business on daily, weekly and monthly basis. The ability to do back-office work on the main database without extra licenses is also a plus. Inventory management is second to none compared to other software we have seen.

Avantages :

As we continue to expand and grow our new business, we are amazed at all the functionality that this software has built in right out of the box. There have been several instances were we have decided to add a new twist to how we run the store, and as we search the Retail Edge manual, there it is! (Example : Gift Cards) This software has every possible option we want, even ones we haven't thought of using yet. We love that all the functionality you need is included in the price, no extra expensive modules to add after the fact. The mobile apps for sales updates are also very much appreciated.

Inconvénients :

If there was one thing we could say in the negative (and that is really hard to do), we wish the "operating screens" were a little more fancy in layout and color selection. Maybe an option to customize the screens with some custom colors and a logo here and there. We know that is hard to do and still insure that the software runs on almost every piece of hardware that various customers own, so we will give Retail Edge a pass on that.

Avantages :

I loved the price. But I did a lot of research before I bought. It took me months to decide. I loved that I could use my own hardware. It really does it all. The price compared to other companies is 50-70% lower with more features and no annual fees if you don't want the latest version. Room for expansion is awesome. Adding another terminal does not cost an arm and a leg with other products. To have a non-web based POS software that does it all for this price is amazing.

Inconvénients :

When you first buy it you don't get full use of the software until you talk to a rep. It would be nice just to have a license key.

Commentaires : Overall program is easy to use but needs some improvements. All employees are able to enter sales and package ability and discounts is nice. Trying to get the discounts to add to the whole sale don't seem to function but that could be us. I would love to see a zoom type training question and answer be presented so that we may unlock and understand all the hidden features the program has.

Avantages :

Ease of entering product, Easy to train new employees on, Saved sale abilities and remote work stations.

Inconvénients :

Needs better reports, no section to add mutiple images for a customer, regarding purchases or product issues. Reports are very basic, no way to create a multiple invoice print-out for customer in-house charge accounts. You have to print each company individually, wastes time for end of the month billing. No way to edit a sale without voiding sale such as incorrect serial number or customer id number. IE: if wrong Mr. Smith is entered you cant change it to the correct Mr. Smith unless you void ticket and start-over which is impossible with credit card processing. Needs a quote saved section, not just saved sales so you can distinguish quote from sale. Does not allow for contact phone to be printed on receipt, I understand security on this but it would be nice if there were an option. Close out process is a bit cumbersome. While easy to do there is so many questions and if you accidently post before printing report you have to start over. No scheduling or time clock option and a adding chat program would be great. The serial number process would be great to be able to add after the sale as in special orders we do not have a serial number to add until the product has been ordered.

There are a lot of tools to review inventory and assess customer loyalty.

Inconvénients :

Some things that we never do, like delete POs once they're completely received, but it asks every time if we want to delete it.
