It provides easy access to employees for learn the billing software platform. The customer services are helpful once you finally get through to the department you are looking for.

Inconvénients :

It will show a patient has a copay, when in reality they need to meet a deductible first. Initially, it created real difficulty and embarrassment regarding patient financials.

Perfect for looking up anyone's insurance

Commentaires : It allows us to get insurance information for our patients pretty seamlessly and makes it super easy!

Avantages :

What I like most about this software is that you are able to look up insurance for anyone. It gives you details that you need for the service that you are providing without having to always call the insurance themselves to get the information you need.

Inconvénients :

What I like least about this product is that if you are looking for specific details about a service sometimes it does not give you what you need. Also, it tends to time out as well as have maintenance issues every now and then.

I use Availity to check claim and eligibility status for various insurances.

Commentaires : I give it "Extremely likely" to recommend this product to others because some insurance companies will only deal with you through Availity. You just have no other choice. If that were not the case, I would still give it a 7.

Avantages :

I like that I have access to eligibility and claim status for multiple insurance companies in one place. Some of the companies even let you manage your prior auth/referrals through Availity.

Inconvénients :

Sometimes Availity fights with me horribly. I would like to be able to use our billing NPI to check the status of claims for all insurance companies, but most require the provider's NPI and that is just more difficult. Also, a few of our newer provider's NPIs are not loaded so I can't check their claim status at all. That is frustrating because some insurance companies won't give you claim status over the phone.

not much its to many drop downs and options for failure

customer service non existent , and the site is not accurate cant pull an eob evem with claim number

Avantages :

Availity has been useful in our claims management. It is set-up to check eligibility and claim status. The remittance viewer is also very helpful.

Inconvénients :

No all insurances are linked with Availity. Also, it took me some time to set it up as there are a lot of insurance companies that we have to set-up.

Commentaires : We are using this to know patients benefit coverage details and in every state big insurance companies benefit details found under one account it’s good and time saving thing best thing you get correct HMO or PPO details with this you can reduce your denials volume if you submit your claim after verification to correct vendors happy with this services

We are using this to know benefits of patients coverage every time you know correct benefits details to know what is cover under patient current benefits plan

Inconvénients :

Some time insurance request a medical records to review a per payment review in this part and filling appeal through portal you are facing some extra time need to improve more

It’s okay but not great

Commentaires : It’s been helpful for claims search and ERA searches. I really do like the ability to chat with payers however even payers like Anthem have suggested to reach out to them directly about benefits info because Availity isn’t always clear or accurate. I can’t say i would/wouldn’t recommend.

Avantages :

Looking up claims and ERA’s is pretty simple. The ability to chat with payers is nice and convenient.

Inconvénients :

Customer service is TERRIBLE. Their response to questions does not relate to what you asked and then they close the ticket immediately after their response. Benefits info is not very clear or accurate.

Increases efficiency and flow of patient care

Commentaires : Availity is an integral part of our work flow and a program we use almost every day.

Avantages :

Availity helps our office provide excellent service to patients by correctly understand their insurance plan benefits as they relate to the care we provide. We are able to inform patients on financial details at the beginning of their treatment, which they appreciate very much.

Inconvénients :

A few times the benefits listed have been completely wrong, creating misinformation for the patient and more work for the office.

Always Available, but Expect a Leaning Curve

Commentaires : Generally, I have been satisfied that they are always up and running. But as an amateur biller, it can be daunting to figure some things out. They have a lot of tutorials, however.

Avantages :

Generally, as a non-professional biller, I can bill fairly easily.

Inconvénients :

Hard to get questions answered by real person. After submitting claims, I can only see limited data, so if the claim does not go through at insurance company, I can’t review it readily.

Commentaires : We are highly satisfied with Availity. The login process is simple, multiple users are allowed, we can search and use the software with ease. Information provided is accurate. Very satisfied

Avantages :

For years, our office would call the individual insurance companies to obtain insurance benefit information for our services. This would hold up a phone line, it would tie up our staff from providing the best service to our patients in the office... it wasn't a good situation. I was introduced to Availity a few years ago and have been impressed ever since. I can easily review patient benefits without skipping a beat in our conversation. A couple of key data entries and I can easily review and discuss with the patient what their financial responsibility would be for our care. Printer friendly too - which means we can supply all office staff with the pertinent information or give a copy to the patient.

Inconvénients :

The only con to Availity is that I wish they were enrolled with MORE insurances. There are still a few insurance companies that are not enrolled with Availity and that makes it difficult. I am so accustomed to using the software with patients, it is difficult to comprehend how tedious it is to call IVR options for non-enrolled insurances.

Availity lacks what other sites offer

Avantages :

A helpful feature is the emails alerting you to update provider information, which is required every 90 days.

Inconvénients :

We were made to move from OneHealth Port to Availity, which is not as user friendly. The eligibility returns are not as detailed, most times warranting a phone call to the insurance which we all know takes precious time away from other AR functions. Availity is clunky and elementary with it's features and information return. Availity has "payer spaces" for each payer - however, 90% of each payers space is purely informational articles, etc - no links, no options to gather more information about coverage, out of pocket maximums, etc.

A good idea

Avantages :

When Availity works, it is a HUGE time-saver. It negates the need for waiting hours on hold with insurance companies to verify benefits and estimate patient responsibility. Interface is pretty user friendly. They have added almost all commercial payers to the list, with exception of United Healthcare.

Inconvénients :

Let's face it...it VERY SELDOM works. Only about 50% of the time will it return results other than just basic benefits. The claim estimator piece is what really makes it valuable, and it "Cannot return results in real time...please try again later." This is extremely frustrating for the office staff and especially the front desk if the patient owes something more than a copay.

Commentaires : We are forced to use Availity because that is what insurance companies use, but generally it is not a good system.

Avantages :

Mostly it can be easy to check eligibly and claims

Inconvénients :

It is very cumbersome, and they do not take responsibility when things are not working correctly. They continually require updates of useless information about the company.

Commentaires : We love the ease of having all the Anthem claims information and eligibility in one place. It has helped save time for the users in the office while checking people in and out.

Avantages :

I like the ease of having eligibility and claim explanation of benefits all in one place. It is easy to use and to find things. It is a staple in our office. Easy to look up all the Anthem claims and EOB's for discussion on the phone with patients.

Inconvénients :

I do not like it when the system is down and we can not use it. It doesn't happen very often, but it does from time to time.

Commentaires : Availity has good customer support. They come to your office if needed to provide onsite training.

Avantages :

This product is easy to use and has streamlined our process by allowing one resource for multiple insurance carriers. We are able to do claims status, eligibility, benefits, prior auths and many other duties.

Inconvénients :

I am not a huge fan of the screen changing for different insurance carriers. I would prefer the same format for all insurance carriers.

Avantages :

We use this software to check insurance eligibility for our patients. Its quick! Has multiple search options to find your patient and the results are easy to understand.

Inconvénients :

If there is something that can be considered a con: It would be the verification of information on a quarterly basis. We are a home health agency and not an MD office so navigating through the verification questions are cumbersome.

Avantages :

It has drop down menus and check boxes that make it virtually impossible to submit the wrong information for insurance billing. It walks me through a claim step by step to allow me to do my chiropractic insurance billing. I also like that it shows me patient benefits with up to date co-pays and deductible information.

Inconvénients :

I wish it offered access to more insurance companies. It has the main ones that I use, but there are a few that don't allow me to check benefits and eligibility through Availity.

Commentaires : Horrible. Don't use Availity if you can avoid it. Don't pay any fees to them to use their additional services. not worth it. Waste of time and money. I really wish Availity would change their platform to actually work.

Avantages :

Availity is the worst platform I have ever seen or used. I really really dislike how the platform is laid out and how non-userfriendly it is. You really can't accomplish anything on this platform. I have certain insurance companies that I work with that request that we use Availity. This is the only reason that I am using it...forced to do it! You will get error code after error code with Availity.

Inconvénients :

Everything! I am not sure that there is one thing that I like about Availity. Horrible.

Commentaires : Unfortunately with most insurance carriers either refusing to give benefit quotes or being automated response systems most physician's offices have no choice but to use Availity to look up basic patient coverage. Availity has a claims benefit and remittance viewing area but at least 80% of the time these system tools are unable to retrieve any claim information. At least the software is free to use.

Avantages :

Availity allows for physician's offices to look up patient benefits from multiple insurance carriers in using one online system.

Inconvénients :

The information Availity provides for each patient is mostly generic, for example you can retrieve basic copay amounts to collect but not specific coverage information.

Commentaires : My overall experience with Availity has been a good one. I do not have any complaints at this time.

Avantages :

I like being able to go online and look up information rather than having to make an actual phone call. My job requires me to answer the phone and check patients in and out. Availity helps make my job easier by allowing me to look up information on my time.

Inconvénients :

I have been fortunate in my experiences with Availity. I have not encountered anything that would cause me to dislike this software.
