DynaScape is beginner friendly!
Commentaires : Our experience with DynaScape so far has been great! When I have a question I contact our sales manager and either he will help resolve the issue or he sends my issue to the support department and they are pretty quick to help with the issue. We have only had the 1 big issue with the 1 image file that wasn't compatible with Design Color and just 2 minor questions about the program/licenses. There has been nothing to complain about when using DynaScape. My team loves it.
Avantages :
What I liked most about this software is that it was easy for my Jr Landscape Designer, who had never used Dynascape before, do a whole drawing and colour within a week and a half.
Inconvénients :
There is nothing I don't like about this program. It provides beautiful rendered drawings and our clients are always surprised by how detailed the drawings actually are. We did have a small hiccup within a week of having the product but the support line was so fast to catch what our issue was. It was to do with a file we downloaded on google and input into the design color program. Nothing to do specifically with DynaScape itself.

Professional-looking Designs with Hand Rendered look
Commentaires : Dynascape has helped me to provide my clients and installers with clear, well-labeled, and aesthetically pleasing designs to both help sell and install my designs.
Avantages :
My favorite part, and what impresses others the most, is the aesthetic of the final product, particularly with DynascapeColor.
Inconvénients :
There are a few clunky functions that I wish were simpler, from my experience with other design softwares. One of those things is the ability to add a vertex point to a poly line, without having to redraw the whole thing. This gets especially cumbersome when I have to redraw a large lawn or bed due to a small adjustment.
Dynascape review
Commentaires : Overall good.
Avantages :
It is Landscape specific software which is what I want and need. Scaling site/survey plans into the software. Export/import Autocad function is essential to collaborating with architects.
Inconvénients :
Symbols/ Figures that need to be added: Trampoline figure, Septic bed layer for drawing dimensions(Also Arch accessory label in Figures for septic), Water meter symbol, Electrical outlet symbol, Gas hookup symbol (for bbq, firetables etc), Sliding barn style door Rectangular pools with bathing ledge ; ie fiberglass pools Rectangular pools with various stair options Modern firetables in figures including 2D – round, square and rectangular…. Dekko style Better pergolas- modern styles in figures including 2D Kitchens components for 2D Generally, updates to all 2D figures to add more modern designs (ie 2D arbours, sheds, pergolas, gates); Very outdated styles. Better Fence symbols; amend Fence_B to look similar to autocad style with “x” evenly spaced along line. The existing Fence_A looks like too much like property line. Hatch patterns: add a selection of Techobloc pavers that insert accurate/to-scale in the drawing. This would make paver layout documentation much easier to create. Techobloc hatch patterns Techobloc Pavers symbols Rinox as well Enhancements: When rotating a drawing, can there be an option for text leader line to remain horizontal? Text labels don't rotate with the drawing when rotated. Have a Newsletter giving tips and tricks based on common questions Dynascape colour /pattern options are very limited; stone, accessories etc.

Manage360
Commentaires : Overall experience has been great. It is a complete program with only minor issues needing resolution.
Avantages :
Job costing and the ability to give plants a separate overhead markup from materials
Inconvénients :
No being able to delete accounts and estimates with jobs attached. I understand why, but feel there should be a work around.
DynaScape
Commentaires : The company as a whole is very professional, Customer service to the product itself, very easy to use.
Avantages :
I like the overall work ability, layout options and quick change use of this product. I've been using the software for almost 15 years now and I'm really happy with it.
Inconvénients :
The only thing I would like to change is to have it intergrade 3D software side by side in the same program, that way I can stop using Structure Studios for my 3D needs.
Low Maintenance Landscape Review
Commentaires :
We currently use the system to give clients a clear, professional view of our landscape proposals.
We would like to expand into other DynaScape products, but cannot currently find the benefit to expand when additional software is almost too expensive for a small family owned and operated company.
Avantages :
Design is fairly easy. It's helpful to use the square footage calculator when doing estimates on materials. I also like the feature where you can create plant lists based on phases and have them divided in the Excel sheet too.
Inconvénients :
I wish the color set up mode was a little easier to work with. Sometimes, when copying and moving lines to create your color set up layer, the system will select more than one line, or sometimes it won't intelligently group lines together.

Avantages :
Designs are easy and come out looking very professional
Inconvénients :
Needs more plant symbol variety. Irrigation design in the software is nearly unusable

Simple is Best
Commentaires : Overall it has been good.
Avantages :
Estimating software is great and simple. Dynascape Design as well and is a good transition software if you are drawing on napkins etc. It is a 'dumbed down' version on CAD and much easier to learn.
Inconvénients :
It does have it's inefficiencies and negatives as far as using for larger projects and multiple page printing in which you may look at a more complex drawing software.

Good but not always intuitive...
Commentaires : The software is good and the customer service has been great as well. I would consider it the best, or certainly the top tier, of what is available... Even if it still has it's weaknesses.
Avantages :
It turns out a very clean and nice looking end design. For the most part it is easy to use and learn.
Inconvénients :
Sometimes the graphics can look cheesy and I wish there were many more that looked like actual plants (as opposed to just circles).
User since 2007
Commentaires : Overall satisfaction. I may not have benefited to the fullest from the program by not delving into ongoing training, beyond the original course I took as I made the transition to computer drafting, but I have become adept enough to meet my needs. Sometimes colleagues offer helpful tips or share hacks.
Avantages :
Dynascape is the only drafting program I have used for my landscape design business since 2007 when I switched to drawing on the computer from hand drafting. It certainly facilitated revisions, as well as copying sections of drawings to different scales for easier communication and sharing with clients. I only use the Design part of the program suite, and it has served me well enough.
Inconvénients :
My main computer is a Mac, so the fact that Dynascape is a PC based program has required using the Parallels program as an intermediary. With pending next generation changes to the Apple operating system, I am uncertain whether I will be able to continue to use Dynascape, as I believe Parallel is not immediately preparing to change their program to keep pace with the Apple changes. As I am long overdue for a computer update this a pressing concern for me. I believe Dynascape is in the process of developing a cross-platform version of their program, but it may not come soon enough for me.

Dynascape Changed My Business
Commentaires : Fast and easy interface with clients and contractors
Avantages :
My Design services are streamlined, concise and tidy
Inconvénients :
After a steep learning curve of software use, I can do my designs in a fraction of time it took previously.
Great for landscape designers
Commentaires : I feel like there are a lot of bugs for a program that has been out for years. I've been using it for 3 years now and haven't seen and significant changes in the software. The UI is also dated. Overall, it's a good program for a small landscape design company. It's much cheaper than AutoCAD, and has integrated figures so you don't need a plugin. It gets the job done, but could use some improvements.
Avantages :
I like the variety of figures that the software contains. It's nice to not need a plugin to add a variety of plant symbols to the drawings. It's also really handy that you can create your own figures and add them to a library. It is also helpful that if you hover over a tool, you get a description of what the tool does.
Inconvénients :
There are pretty minimal help videos on youtube. There have been features that I have struggled to learn how to use and I haven't found any videos that help me enough to figure it out. The manual is also not super helpful, especially flipping through hundreds of pages. I feel like I don't even use half of the features because I can't figure them out. Specifically, plant schedules and design labeling. I feel like these are meant to be useful tools, but I am not able to use them because there aren't enough help videos to teach me how. If working on a simple landscape, this software is fine. However, once we have a job that has multiple plans, it's extremely frustrating that I have to have multiple different drawings instead of being able to create multiple plans from one drawing like you can with AutoCAD.
Good and Bad
Commentaires : Overall we've been a customer for more than 10 years. We would like to see more frequent updates to the software, and listening to consumer feedback. Most of the DS Design hasn't seen notable changes in the last 4-5 years, and some of these asks that we have are very common with other landscape design programs.
Avantages :
Can produce detailed construction plans, great 2-D color renderings, good variety of figures to place within drawings
Inconvénients :
Importing PDF's and scaling the plans. Once you move the scale changes and have to rescale. Not being able to easily input lengths when doing linework and creating baseplans/designs. Should be able to snap to a crossing line on the ortho (always have to click past, then change line location or trim). NEED hotkeys for commands. Add more to figure library (specifically plantings) Smooth Polylines and curves are often too tight. Editing Text labels after insertion. Color integration into a single program in the near future?
Why you should use Dynascape Design
Commentaires :
We have used this software since the early 2000's. Have watched the software evolve and grow into what it is today. The software itself is amazing and we wouldn't use any other program to design our landscapes.
We would like the user forum to come back, as it was a valuable tool for the end user to be able to reach out to other users of the software and get ideas, tips and problem solve. Why it was removed years ago was baffling, but it seems Dynascape tends to lean towards having their users pay for help or use of their knowledge base with classes and user paid training. That would be our biggest complaint is everything seems to be "pay to play" mentality at this company.
Avantages :
The graphics, ease of use and overall user interface is second to none with this software. You will make your investment back in the first design you present to your next client. Everthing you need to design, present and get material quantities and take offs is in this program. Including plant material!
Inconvénients :
We want to use 360 manage, but the monthly cost is insane! Most smaller companies can't justify spending $300 a month. ($3600 a year) It's clearly targeting larger companies who need that sort of large crew management etc... but I would guess a big percentage of users of Dynascape are not huge companies. We'll stick with Quickbooks and save over a 3K per year.
Review of Dynascape
Commentaires : Overall, I am happy with the software and appreciate the quality of the drawings produced.
Avantages :
I use the Design software mainly and love the quality of the drawings it produces.
Inconvénients :
I've been with Dynascape for years and wish there would be efforts made to create better commands and shortcuts in the design software. I came from CAD where there are lots of ways to easily change tools whereas in Dynascape, we have to manually click everything and it becomes daunting at times and impedes in the workflow. Also, I haven't seen any symbol/figures updates in the years I've had the software, it would be nice to see some additions. Also, coming from CAD and other software, there was a "jump" feature for lines that would allow you to set a distance from a point on a line to jump "X" distance. That would be nice to have. Also, over the years you see softare interface changing/evolving, Dynascape has remained the same, leaving it feeling outdated visually. That would make sense if we purchased a single version and never upgraded, but when we're paying monthly for upgrades, it's a different story.

Good Value
Commentaires : Very Positive.
Avantages :
The additions of plant names as needed can be critical. Being able to use the SketchUp tools will allow the freedom to show the Board the potential of the project(s).
Inconvénients :
I cannot adapt the scales to what is desire very well. It is also hard to show progress unless they have the program, as well. I have to keep creating pdf forms to show progress.
Dynascape is very good software for the landscape industry.
Commentaires :
I started using Dynascape after hand drawing for many years. My overall experience has been positive. I have used it for almost 4 years. The first year was a steep learning curve, but it became intuitive after getting used to it.
An advantage to our business is that time spent on revisions is greatly decreased, which helps with time management.
Avantages :
Professional looking presentation to the client. Easy to email to client for review vs. hand drawn. Easy to do revisions, which saves time. Easy to do accurate take-offs for estimating, and dimension plans for install crews. Good figure catalog. DS Color is easy to use.
Inconvénients :
The instructions in the tutorials aren't always accurate, making it difficult to learn without support. There are some glitches that need to be fixed and improvements that could be made to the software.
You're so lucky
Commentaires : I hate this software. Positively archaic. It sucks in a lot of ways if it didn't serve a fundamental purpose in the company in a very fast manner I'd throw it away. I hate it so much I've asked my superiors to block out time for me during the off season so I can develop a manner to make this software obsolete for our company.
Avantages :
That it produces low to mid quality graphics quickly. Honestly if there was a comparable software that did a similar thing in a similar time I'd never let this company use this software.
Inconvénients :
Wow where to begin. Its positively archaic. Firstly editing a polyline is incredibly frustrating and annoying I'd much rather just draw a new one. Creating a curve with it is awful! Your snapping system sucks. Like its so hard to create a straight line that meets another its actually easier to run the line straight through your adjoining line and go back and adjust it. The coloring system is smart I'll give you that but why the actual hell is it so convoluted to add new textures?? Don't even get me started on editing work I've already completed or matching a mulch bed to an existing patio. I spend more time looking for vertexes sometimes than actually doing the work.

Refined Cad program
Commentaires : DynaSCAPE is awesome, Cad can be overkill for a lot of the work we’re doing. This program is a perfect in between. Their video series makes it easy to train new people and get them up to speed
Avantages :
It’s very easy to build templates and pallets of plants to shorten design internally. The title block we built and the symbol combinations are clean and east to use
Inconvénients :
There are small features that SketchUp has that I wish I could use (shortcuts and control settings)
The Best Professional CAD software for the Landscape Industry
Commentaires : I was not actively looking for a software program in 2002 when Dynascape became a compulsory tool as I became involved with a television production. Once I learned the program, I soon realized the advantages to creating my Landscape Projects with the program and started producing all my drawings on Dynascape in my Landscape Design Practice. It has assisted me with creating professional well organized plans that I am able to convert to a whole Landscape Plan Package complete with working drawings, planting plans, dimensional plans, grading plans etc. I also use it for my Decor side of my business to plan out spaces to scale and to properly quote the materials I require. This gives me a professional edge to other Decor Designers who do not use Dynascape or CAD.
Avantages :
Dynascape is a professional software that produces expandable drawings with ease.
Inconvénients :
Like any CAD (Computer Automated Drafting) program the learning curve is steep. It is well worth persevering though, as it will speed up your work flow and production once you grasp the basic drawing concepts.
Good for mid-level landscape design
Avantages :
If you know CAD, it's easy to use. There's a good plant library and symbol library
Inconvénients :
Sometimes the measuring/area calculation tools don't consistently work. I wish rasters could be moved and manipulated easier. Wish there was a way to associate a symbol with a plant or rock so I didn't have to count everything by hand.
Taking the Leap!
Commentaires : One of the biggest features is when there is a change in the plan, in the old model of hand drawing a change either eraser mess or a total redraw. Now it is extremely simple to make changes and get back to the client immediately.
Avantages :
What is really nice is the ability to make slight changes on a plan with little effort, also to give options easily. Another nice option, especially during the pandemic is the ease of communicating through email. You can email the plan and get immediate feedback from the client.
Inconvénients :
When we first started looking at Dynascapes, I found it intriguing but most intimidating, I had been hand drawing landscape plans for 37 years and you know what they say about teaching old dogs a new trick. It's a good thing that we acquired the program early in the offseason, this gave me the time to figure it out.
Dynascape Review
Commentaires : Excellent
Avantages :
A powerful landscape design tool creating professional and detailed landscape plans that integrate with the estimating software making the design and bid process seamless. Plant database, ability to add color, and the ease of revisions make the design portion very effective and efficient. Estimating program is a fast and efficient tool for creating professional proposals with your mark-up and overhead built-in. Once learned you won't want to use any other program.
Inconvénients :
Certain aspects of the interactions between printers and other software are clunky and needlessly complicated. Customer service while very good is slow, usually, a day or so before they get back to you in a season that is a problem.
Everything you need in one place
Commentaires : We have always had an amazing experience with the software
Avantages :
Dynascape give you everything you need to be able to design and sell products form basic install to high in construction
Inconvénients :
We have not ran into anything we dont like
Solid Product
Commentaires : Overall, I’m content with the program.
Avantages :
User friendly. Quick to learn. Easy to produce professional drawings
Inconvénients :
Hatching feature is difficult to use and very limited. I would prefer to print in color
