I Wish the PM Was More Seamless With the Clinical Module
Commentaires : Overall, it works because i have spent countless hours learning the complexities of the system. There are several things i wish they would do to integrate it more with the other software that Allscripts offers.
Avantages :
Works good. Easy to schedule patients. once you learn the complex system, you have a lot of control over the fine details.
Inconvénients :
I hate that it is so different from the EHR. The PM seems like it hasn't changed in 15 years, whereas the EHR has been updated, leaving the PM behind. It does have the stereotypical crashing issues that all Allscripts products do. Very complex setup. You need to be well versed in IT or have a professional IT person to setup the Scheduling templates.

Allscripts PM Review 2022.
Commentaires : It has made life easier for the office staff to print out patient forms etc!
Avantages :
We like that it has multi functions for scheduling, patient charts, forms and link to the Allscripts billing payer path system.
Inconvénients :
That we can not fax or email directly from it.

WORST.EHR/EMR.EVER!!!!
Commentaires : It is so ancient. Not sure how they can say they are one of the best or leading in EHR?? Complete lie! Has any of the faculty or developers of this company ever seen any other EHR?? I'm guessing not. Maybe they should see some other EHRs or have experienced providers help them! You also get nickel and dimed on everything even when you pay majors dollars to have the program and have to continue to pay for services, monthly fees, and for every upgrade and added the feature. Their customer support is horrible because half the people don't know what they are doing.
Avantages :
Nothing. Well I guess I'm supposed to pretend that I like something to move forward, but I honestly cannot!
Inconvénients :
Everything from the layout, templates, workflow, e-scribing, how only one person can be in the note and you have to steal it or take it over in order to do your part. I can't even create a note on someone I saw last week because another provider had two charts open on this patient that needed to be finished. AND...I can't even view any of these open notes either even when I am following up on this patient and need to see some things. You have to enter each prescription and send separately. The search buttons for diagnosis, procedures, test, education is horrible. You need to be able to find one thing with multiple names medical and layman, most commonly used. The nurses should be able to put in their vitals and go into medication, history, social, family, etc.....at the same time I getting into the HPI, exam, diagnoses and plan. I should be able to see the entire note, every section, on one page so I don't have to do a tone of clicking to try and see everything. I want to see the entire note. I should also be able to see problem list, medications, and other things off to one side. If someone is trying to open a section I am in it just needs to let them know by saying "so and so is in this section right now do you really need to take it over as it wouldn't save anything." This was helpful with the last EMR I had at my last job as I could even ask the person it said was on if they could get out of the section if I needed them too. When you have a template, you should be able to select something, but still alter it. For eg. if you choose one of the already made master list options you can't even put anything before or after or in between the sentence. Even when entering days or weeks to some of these sections you should be able to free text and even put 2-3 weeks or whatever you need to put in there. It should be very easy to make templates and edit things. Have any of these developers ever went into a medical office to even see how busy and complicated it is. It needs so much work. It is SOO old school!! I seriously am so frustrated, I can't even understand how this business is still successful?? I'm honestly going to spread the word on this program as it is the worst investment ever. Also when running reports it doesn't capture everything. Also isn't very helpful for meaningful use.

Solid Software
Commentaires : Straight forward and easy to use. There isn't a very large learning curve which makes it easy for experienced admins to jump right in.
Avantages :
Allscripts has come a long way in the last 10 years making certain features and reconciling processes easy to use. The software is straight forward and I appreciate that in a full service RCM software. I also like that it integrates with other software making it easier to utilize across companies.
Inconvénients :
There are few cons with Allscripts. It is a great software for the clinician but also for the administrative team.

Allscripts is absolutely the worst EMR that I have worked with
Commentaires : Absolutely horrible, and impedes patient care.
Avantages :
It does not auto populate information for exams that I haven't done such as a cranial nerve exam. But, then again, it doesn't really auto populate anything.
Inconvénients :
I have used a number of EMR's. Epic, Cerner, Sunrise, EMA, Office Ally. I frequently use many of these due to working at different hospitals. This EMR was not friendly to use when I started to use it, approximately 1.5 years ago. A recent upgrade to the '184' version has made use absolutely atrocious. I am a surgeon. I yesterday did a case and it took over 30 minutes to sign a consent - this is AFTER talking to the patient and relates ONLY to getting the computer to cooperate. Instead of being able to sign the consent when I talk to the patient, I must talk to the patient, the patient and nurse must sign it in person / on the computer, it must be then sent to my computer inbox, then I must go find a computer that allows privileges for me to log on as not all of the computers seem to allow my profile to be loaded correctly, and THEN the consent must load correctly. The patient had to sign the consent FOUR times for it to load correctly, delaying the case by 30 minutes. While we have Dragon, I am unable to directly dictate into the system and must do time consuming copy and paste. The system seems to be designed around the computer: maximizing the number of clicks that must be performed in order to perform a simple task. I am now also unable to enter any orders from off site. While I can to log in securely log in, the system has been 'upgraded' such that there is NO option for a screen resolution that will allow me to see the complete order button. This EMR belongs in 1995.

The support I have received on technical issues is by far the worst I have ever experienced. Our issues are possibly stretched out over days to weeks. I submit our cases for support and most of the time I do not hear anything back that someone is looking at our case for days - sometimes I hear back the next day. We ask for guidance on server refreshes and they send us an out of date manual if we hear back. I have expressed our deep concerns when we experience down times due to lack of direction from the vendor. We had a down test environment for over 4 weeks and we had to reach out to another contact to get the issues resolved. I begged for documentation on what the fix was, and I have never heard back. We need to perform another refresh and are guaranteed to run into the same issues again. This is unacceptable as a company to offer this level of support to a paying customer.
The company also only connects to your environment through SecureLink, a gateway that is usually non conforming to any sized organization's IT Security policies and preferences. They will not work with you on this issue either. I have not had a good experience with this company at the last 2 organizations I have worked that used Allscripts. This is my single point of contention in my job duties.
Avantages :
The product offers an ease of use for our end users.
Inconvénients :
Everything. The customer support is horrendous. The company's connectivity.
Angela
keep looking
Commentaires : no positive. this is likely oner of the worst programs I have ever worked with.
Avantages :
it is an all inclusive software package that works with insurance input, scheduling, payments, reporting and billing
Inconvénients :
where to begin... this is an expensive program that increases in cost 3-5% annually for each component of the product - Everything has a separate cost. Customer support is handled largely by call centers in India and communication is a challenge. Reporting is lacking to say the least - it only exports in a dump file that you have to then copy and paste into anything usable. otherwise the standard reports are basic totals, pie charts or lists - ugh! Software updates generally result in problems and require IT involvement. I could go on and on - look elsewhere... there are many programs that offer much more for much less of a cost

Allscripts PM review
Avantages :
The one thing I liked about Allscripts PM was the the speed. I could go right in and get to where I needed to be. If I needed to unlock someones account or change someone's password, it was quick and easy.
Inconvénients :
I hate how outdated it is. We are in a world where we are spoiled with technology, but Allscripts PM still looks like is stuck on Windows 98.

Buyer Beware
Commentaires : We are a small three doctor practice. Signed with Allscripts in 2013 as Bon Secours Hospital was contracting with them and offering to subsidize portion of cost. Three years of struggling with customer support issues ranging in downed system to billing disputes. Our bookkeeper hired in Jan 2016 contacted Allscripts in January & was told account was in good standing only to receive a notice in April 2016 that we owed "reopened invoices" in the amount of dollars. We continued to pay current invoices and disputed the amount until they provided us with an audited AR history of our account. They responded by putting our account on hold preventing us from doing business. We agreed to pay the disputed amount out of necessity in order to continue to see patients and generate income. They refused to provide us with an audited AR history of our account to review the charges only providing data in an excel spreadsheet. Additionally, one of our partners is leaving the practice due to life threatening health issues. Allscripts is refusing to let us out of the 2 years remaining on her license.
Inconvénients :
They are too big and too impersonal. Impossible to reach out to someone higher up in the company if you are having issues with any department whether it be accounting or contracts. We are still in shock that they had/have the capability to prevent us from conducting business due to legitimate dispute even though we continued to pay them. They can and will prevent access to your records unless you comply with them.

Horrible product
Commentaires : Bad. Do not buy.
Avantages :
There really is nothing about this product that I have ever liked.
Inconvénients :
So many to mention.... Antiquated software platform - uses microsoft remote desktop. Several login screens, and you get locked out frequently. Reminds me of Windows 95. NOT user friendly They were HACKED last year, which cost our practice thousands of dollars in productivity, not to mention made our lives a living hell!!! There are actually errors within the exam section - anatomic areas are in the wrong place Horrible HPI autogeneration And the list goes on...

Easy To Use, Slow, Bad Design
Commentaires : Look elsewhere, there are open source options I would choose before this.
Avantages :
It was easy to use and to find what you needed, it is a fairly simple software. The ability to send electronic prescriptions is also a plus.
Inconvénients :
Very slow and takes forever to load! Integrations with other systems is also nearly impossible. The software UI is very poorly designed and the coding is obviously messy. Downtime seemed to be a given each week as the system would go down randomly and seemingly every week.

Commentaires : I am one of three obstetrician/gynecologists in a multidisciplinary group with cardiologists and a rheumatologist. I have previously used IC charting with success and I consider myself comfortable with computer technology. Over the course of two weeks, Allscripts was implemented. We were trained on patient visit input briefly while seeing patients in the office. Once the training staff left, we were on our own. We have had very little support. The system itself is difficult to use and you constantly feel as if you are missing patient information. In order to pull up a result you have to scroll through every lab ever ordered, every image ever scanned in, and every note put in. The scroll function frequently jumps to the next view so you are never sure you actually reviewed the entire document. Radiology reports and labs do not show up in the patient's note unless you manually enter the results/report. The obstetric add on (mom-docs) does not communicate with allscripts and all labs/ultrasounds/communications have to be entered manually. Once entered they are easily altered if you accidentally hit the scroll wheel on your mouse, so you never feel confident of your patient information. In order to review a lab or send a prescription there is a minimum of three clicks you have to press confirming unnecessary information such as diagnosis and linked visit. The lab/prescription is not attached to the note so the clicks seem unnecessary. At the end of the day you are worried you missed something like Rh status, an abnormal lab or that your note may or may not have been saved and may or may not be in the correct patients chart. We have now had this system for six months and these issues have not been addressed.

Wish we had better experiences
Commentaires : Wish we had a new EHR
Avantages :
Practice manager is user friendly.
Inconvénients :
Get dropped from service daily. 3rd new url in the past 6 months we have had to update all computers. Sign in is difficult - 3 sign ins. Cloud, pm, clinical. Very expensive. We signed up in 2013. Trained for a week. That’s it.

Not that great
Commentaires : Am looking forward to switching to Athena
Avantages :
It seemed like a good buy at the time, especially when combined with the PMR side. That said, the PMR side is not user friendly
Inconvénients :
The support has not been there. Must put a ticket in for everything. Why can't we speak to some one right away especially when we can't log on. We get kicked off the server a couple times a week also. Very aggravating.
Roy
I used it for two years and so called updates caused so many problems the company I worked for had to offer classes on how to use it all over again.
Commentaires : I am very glad that we changed to EPIC.
Avantages :
Laboratory results, problem lists, and medication lists were easy to print. It was easy to send notes to coworkers.
Inconvénients :
There can be three or four places to enter the ordered screens (like colonoscopies) and only one will show up on the dashboard. The program crashes a lot.
Deborah
A needed platform
Commentaires : Ongoing QA assessment and constant improvement and R & D
Avantages :
The necessity of using this in the medical industry. The wide range of various arenas of healthcare.
Inconvénients :
The heavy traffic and slowness. Sometimes it is slow during heavy traffic times at certain periods of the day.
Evangeline
Outdated
Avantages :
-once you get used to the dinosaur-ancient-like interface, you can probably get your claims to go through
Inconvénients :
-ancient-like interface, totally not user friendly and a pain in the you-know-what to navigate or solve any simple issue

Great for Large Hospitals!
Commentaires : Ultimately, Allscripts Practice Management is a great software to implement in large hospitals. It allows for physicians to have better time management and performance due to scheduling efficiencies and access to patient records.
Avantages :
This software allows each provider to access to patient records from all different providers. This feature makes it easy to view all of the patient's medical information from one software without having to call other doctors. This software also allows for easy edits of patient data in case of alterations or needs of update. There are also great scheduling features included with this software that updates scheduling and registration for the physician to see.
Inconvénients :
It can be difficult to learn to use to due to its many features. There is also a lack of timely responses when requests are submitted to customer service.
Tori
allscripts
Avantages :
reviewing and submitting medications for patients.
Inconvénients :
not anything that i dont like. we can see all past medications by date.
Rafael
Slow, slow, slow. Interface could be more user friendly.
Avantages :
Medication and pharmacy database very complete. Design is ok but sometimes requires too many clicks to get where you want to go.
Inconvénients :
Number one complaint is the system being slow. Some days are worse than others. Also it is not very intuitive how to get from point A to point B sometimes.
Jennifer
EASILY NAVIGATE
Avantages :
You can connect with payerpath via the allscripts, you can also run multiple ERA at one time to maximize production
Inconvénients :
too many manual era postings, the options to prevent things from automatically posting a great but should be more defined
Tina
Allscripts is not so simple
Avantages :
I do like how the Dr's can send test and scripts through out the system, you can see all the notes. you can send off Xrays script as well
Inconvénients :
It's not that user friendly, little hard to understand, and gets confusing, the Doctors where also have a difficult time adjusting to it as well.
Brittany
Amazing Program to Boost Your Success
Avantages :
This product is so easy to use. It has an electronic prescribing function and saves our printer and physicians from taking the time to manually write or type out scripts.
Inconvénients :
There are occasional glitches when trying to put in medications and it takes around 30 seconds to find one medication. This can be frustrating sometimes if you have a lot of medications to put in.
