Great dental software backed by excellent company

Commentaires : We love HS and dentrix for our practice!

Avantages :

Dentrix is very user friendly and has many features for many needs

Inconvénients :

Too many clicking steps, not cloud based and not enough initial training. You have to dig to get the full use out of this product. Once you do, though, it’s great

Dentrix reliable and easy to learn.

5,0 il y a 9 mois

Commentaires : We have been very happy with Dentrix overall - we have outsourced a few areas but other than that - 35 years and going strong!

Avantages :

I have been using Dentrix for 35 years and it has grown with the times and always remained easy to use with regular updates.

Inconvénients :

It would really help to have ortho maximums added/ with insurance codes used. Also if a patient is under 14 auto detect the prophy a child prophy. Fluoride has an age in coverage tables / dentrix should auto detect they do or don’t have coverage.

Customer service is Poor. And expensive.

2,0 il y a 2 ans

Commentaires : They are giving me a pain right now. I have had to upgrade my computers many times to handle their upgrades, and their program is never re written, the program just gets larger each time.

Avantages :

very large expensive program, employees find it hard to learn, some even quit. not intuitive. requires a lot of training for new employees.

Inconvénients :

the customer service. they are always sending you offshore, and the techs are not trained. you have to call back a lot to find a competent tech. they don't service you well. For instance, I have called 3 times to upgrade Dentrix software to a more current version. Each time I was told that the person who installs the software has gone home. On Today's call, the person answering the phone said that the installer had gone home. It is the 4th time I have called, and I asked why he has gone home since it is only 2:30 PM in the afternoon. The representative said he only installs Dentrix updates Monday-Thursday 5AM - 2 PM and Fridays 5AM to 1 PM! I am so angry because had any of the other people answering the phones told me this, I would have known when to call back! This is terrible customer service! Do they only have one person installing Dentrix updates? I am so upset that I drove to the office on a day off specifically to install this update, at 2:30 pm AND THE INSTALLER HAS GONE HOME AGAIN! What the heck is going on? I also scheduled a call from the installer and never got a call back. This is really Mickey Mouse for a company that is supposed to be the biggest and the best. I am really beginning to regret working with Dentrix.

Inconvénients :

Tech support is bad The system doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do, always have issues with dentrix enhanced and sending notifications to patients.

Dentrix was a lifesaver at my previous job.

5,0 il y a 5 ans

Commentaires : My previous job at my father's dental office worked with paper files for the first 30 years. We finally convinced him to upgrade and get a computer system. We chose Dentrix and I'm glad we did! I don't have experience with others to compare, but it was such a great software. Also, you can print out the patient's chart to have a backup paper chart to file in case of an emergency.

Avantages :

- Dentrix has a ton of features that makes scheduling appointments mostly easy and stress-free. - It's easy to find the codes after the patient received their treatment and add it to their digital chart. - Easy to print patients' charts for backup files. - Billing made easy. - Customer support was always excellent

Inconvénients :

- Costly. - It can take a bit to learn everything within the software. - Only Windows compatible. I have Windows but that can be an issue for those who are Mac owners. - When scheduling appointments, sometimes the boxes cover other appointment times making them nonvisible, which ultimately makes you not realize an appointment is there and mess up the appointments for that time slot and surrounding.

Dentrix dental software

5,0 l’année dernière

Commentaires : Overall a great investment. It's worth the price.

Avantages :

It integrates well with all other practice systems and is easy to use.

Inconvénients :

I haven't found a weakness. But perhaps if I'm being picky I would say the cost is the only weakness.

Powerful dental practice management software

5,0 il y a 2 ans

Commentaires : It’s been great for our practice. Easy for everyone to use in the office with minimal training due to its intuitive use.

Avantages :

The scheduling of patients is very easy to use and manage. The ledger is easy to read And follow. The X-rays is fantastic. The software is very powerful.

Inconvénients :

There’s a lot of bells and whistles in the software that you may not need and that can slow down the use of it. So there’s not much not to dislike about it.

I use Denrix every day at work and I really enjoy it.

4,0 il y a 6 ans

Avantages :

I really enjoy that there is so many different areas to explore. If you have any questions customer service is always willing to remote in and help and there are also training videos to watch to help.

Inconvénients :

A few things that can some times become a headache is when say a child parents are separated and they have insurance with both parents you have to add them on the same account instead of keeping every one as an individual like Eaglesoft has it. Another little con I have is that it is kind of hard to email a patient there ledger, if they request. There is a lot of steps.

Conversion is a pain!

2,0 il y a 2 ans

Avantages :

We are needing to convert from EasyDental to Dentrix as they are from [SENSITIVE CONTENT]

Inconvénients :

Integration is turning out to be a headache! They want to charge for every little thing and didn't tell me about extra charges until right before! "oh by the way, document conversion is just another $860 on top of everything else...did you want to add that?" What????? Of course I wanted to add that! We have spent hours putting thousands of documents into the system, only to not have them convert????!!!! Why is this not included and why was I not told this in the beginning????? Not to mention I send and email, or ask a question and they take weeks to get back to me. Often only when I call them do they finally respond.

Dentrix

4,0 il y a 3 ans

Commentaires : Overall, Dentrix is overall a great dental management software for the price.

Avantages :

The claims/billing management is quite easy to use. User-friendly software and easy to train staff on.

Inconvénients :

The x-ray uploading, loading and transferring. Horrible integration especially where sensitivity and accuracy are so important. There are also issues when you have people with the same name.

Great full suite of Dental practice management software.

5,0 il y a 3 ans

Commentaires : I have been working at another dental office recently that doesn’t use Dentrix and I really realize how user friendly Dentrix is and how complete the software feels. It is organized and easy to complete tasks/charting without duplicating efforts. Dentrix just feels like it makes sense to me and it has a professional and updated look. The software I use at the other office is so much harder to use and takes me twice as long to do anything (maybe because I have so much experience using dentrix?). Dentrix is a complete package of features that link together everything in a patient record.

Avantages :

The features and ways this software can help manage patient records, appointments, billing, treatment plans, and communications is limitless. I have worked in offices that utilize Dentrix to its fullest and it is a great tool and keeps everyone on the same page in regulates to patients and treatment etc. You can begin using it for a few things and as you get comfortable the features used can expand. It is pretty flexible for using in small offices or larger offices and with proper training it seems to be great in my experience as a hygienist.

Inconvénients :

It can become a mess if employees don’t understand how to utilize the software properly. If patients aren’t scheduled directly from the recall in their chart then they will show up on recall lists and get notified they are due for an appointment or sometimes they can end up with multiple recalls if not managed correctly when scheduling. If treatment plans aren’t input correctly then scheduling and estimates will be inaccurate.

good if you want headaches all the time

2,0 il y a 8 ans

Commentaires : the rep that sold it to my office misrepresented what options the software came with. we purchased it for around K , then had to purchase licensing for all computers, then had it installed only to find out that it does not come with all the module included and you had to pay extra for the services like ebilling and ecentral (which malfunctions all the time)
the service is horrible, the contact is expensive and does not cover the tech on site. The online support is not bad but not able to solve many issues. The techs that came to the office and set up the whole thing did a terrible job and the software is constantly not working properly. They cam in and set up my whole network and server and none of it works well and consistently. Software is not user friendly and required many hours to get it to work OK. Features like insurances and notes are very hard to set up to where they should be to work well.
They charged money for the file transfer from ACE and that was a complete screw up and we basically had to start from scratch on everything. Took a Year to clean up the mess. If I could do it over again I would steer clear of Dentrix

Avantages :

Scheduling is probably the one thing that works ok

Inconvénients :

not user friendly , horrible support, expensive, not all inclusive , constant glitches and crashes

poor tech support: poorly trained, outsourced language barrier, read manuals while client holding

4,0 l’année dernière

Commentaires : dental practice management.

Avantages :

this product requires a steep learning curve; however its features and versatility are very useful

Inconvénients :

20+ year user: Product has gotten more complicated to use. previously globally updated components like DEXIS, now must be updated separately; tech support has degraded; is outsourced and there is a language barrier-30 minutes of formalities before the problem is addressed; wait times are lengthy; tech reads manual on client time while client is holding; techs poorly trained and inexperienced. Dentrix integrated brand name products like: Colgate into RXs and CareCredit in the software without client permission.

Comprehensive dental software that is easy to use

5,0 il y a 6 ans

Avantages :

Encompasses everything needed to provide excellent dental care for patients. Although very good software to begin with, company is open to suggestions from users and will incorporate most popular suggestions in updates. Have been using for over 30 years.

Inconvénients :

Overall happy with software. Perhaps one con would be in regards to add-on features. For example, there is a credit card processing add-on that works along side Dentrix. A great feature that integrates with software but, at the time when we were using this feature, there was no choice in credit card processing company. In order to use it, all offices had to go with the same processor, regardless of the discount rates, etc. We were able to get a better rate with comparable service elsewhere, however, it doesn't integrate with the software. Not directly related to the base software program which is wonderful.

Non working issues, not resolved for 16 months plus.

1,0 il y a 2 ans

Commentaires : They never have the answers, never have a manager on staff, and when they do they have limited or no capacity to access your account issues.

Avantages :

I would like if it worked. But, it does not. I have had to close each month manually for more than a year and a half, costing my office hours of time and loss of production. When I brought the issue to escalations last February, it died there and [SENSITIVE CONTENT] has still not called me back to resolve this issue.

Inconvénients :

Nonexistent customer support. Not one staff member has access to a supervisor. Names are taken and nothing is ever resolved.

Powerful, but not the most user friendly

4,0 il y a 7 ans

Commentaires : Custom Reports, Communication/Integration from Dentrix to other platforms like Solution Reach for appointment reminders and continuing care.

Avantages :

There are so many features to use in dentrix that can really benefit a company. From custom reports to ease of scheudling and a help center. Customer service is always good and helpful, although, not always fixing the whole problem that we may have. However, they are always polite and ready to help.

Inconvénients :

Because there are so many features, we maybe know how to use a fraction of them. We have never really had any training on it and it can be costly to sign up for classes that really only cover the basics. I really want to learn! There is no in depth training and each time I have an issue I feel like only parts of the problme get fixed until I call like 3 times.

Efficiency Keeps Everyone Smiling

5,0 il y a 6 ans

Commentaires : We've been Dentrix users for more than 20 years and have been continually impressed by the level of performance and continued growth of this product. Honestly, we cannot imagine operating without it.

Avantages :

The level of efficiency which Dentrix brings to the table helps to keep our office continually humming. With multiple integrated modules, information is always readily available, and the documentation process is a breeze. Employing Dentrix essentially affords us an extra "virtual staff member!"

Inconvénients :

On occasion, software updates introduce an underlying issue which results in less than satisfactory software performance, which, in turn, would lead to time consuming sessions with tech support. I would say, however, that this falls under exception, rather than the rule.

Dentrix for the Dental office

4,0 il y a 5 ans

Commentaires : Needs a lot of work to make it THE software for dental offices. They really need to consult with the staff using the software and make changes and upgrades.

Avantages :

Scheduling appointments and adding new patients could not be easier.

Inconvénients :

I hate the ledger. When posting claim payments you can post any amount, it should never let you do adjustments and payments more than the total amount charged but it does. You can not post a negative payment when insurance companies do a pull back. There is no effective or cancellation date for insurance companies. You can only enter two insurance plans. No way for the admin to delete items after month is closed.

Dentrix Review

3,0 il y a 5 ans

Commentaires : It's fine.

Avantages :

Scheduling and tracking. Well, well, well,

Inconvénients :

That you cannot add more than 2 dental insurance coverages and that you cannot have the subscriber listed without adding in the family file. An old software like Windent had that option and it was great! Windent allowed 4 places to add insurance coverage. We'd like better capabilities to enter plans especially when they have the same group number but different benefit packages. We need more pre-block options for the appointment book / scheduling to template. we have to create an event and that is annoying.

Decent program for a dental office

4,0 il y a 5 ans

Commentaires : Dentrix is a good program when it works and it works most of the time. Often though, there are at least one or two bugs that always come up after updates.

Avantages :

I like that dentrix integrates itself with other programs like Dexis and Yapi to make office needs more smooth in transition. I also like that dentrix's chart allows ease of tooth numbering, charting and treatment planning.

Inconvénients :

Whenever dentrix has an update, there always seems to be something that goes wrong. Currently, we are dealing with issues of not being able to mass invalidate on teeth conditions and the dentrix rep stated the only thing I can do at this time is wait for a new update.

One of the most efficient dental programs I've ever worked with

5,0 il y a 5 ans

Commentaires : When we have patients waiting to get information from us, we want to make sure that we can give it fast and accurately. I loved that I was able to access most of the tabs/features that I frequently used from any given screen. It saved time and allowed me to give correct information to my patients. Billing and posting payments was a breeze. One of my favorite things was being able to post payment to specific procedures and resubmitting a claim for the unpaid treatment in the same transaction. This was helpful and I didn't have to worry about adding anything to my "to do list". Very efficient.

Avantages :

You can access almost every feature that is most commonly used from one screen

Inconvénients :

I used Dentrix or several years and didn't have any cons.

Dentrix is the gold standard

5,0 il y a 7 ans

Avantages :

It's easy to navigate, there are so many things that Dentrix can do for your practice that alot of people dont know about. Utilize their training and resource center. If you can learn this software transitioning into any other dental mgmt software will be cake. With the dentrix you have the ability to be completely paperless with ease.

Inconvénients :

honestly nothing, I guess if I were to try to come up with something it would be that after you run an update there are always glitches, but they are minor and dentrix fixes them extremely quickly
