Inconvénients :

Le seul point négatif a mon avis est que l'outils propose plusieurs vue des outils et cela peut embrouillé le diagnostic

PRTG Is a Great Tool for many Organizations

Commentaires : PRTG brings a lot of value to our organization and it works well to notify our Department immediately when something is down. We have a critical need for this. Some of the user interface and customization for alerts could be better though.

Avantages :

PRTG works on Mac or PC! I can set it up to alert me only on certain items in my org tree by priority, and it works 100% and I don't ever miss notifications.

Inconvénients :

Some alert settings could be more customizable or paused for a certain time period easier. The user interface could be setup a little cleaner and up to date.

Fast and easy to set up monitoring

Avantages :

The initial setup of PRTG is very easy, and the 100 free sensors allows you to monitor a reasonable part of your network for free to determine that it will do the desired job - or if you only have a small network, this may be fine to monitor your entire network.

Inconvénients :

Some advanced features like the ability to set up auto-remediation of issues would be nice, as would the ability to use PRTG behind Cloudflare.

PRTG makes monitoring my network a breeze, keeping me informed and able to fix issues quickly.

Avantages :

The customizable dashboards and alerts make staying on top of my network's health a cinch.

Inconvénients :

The learning curve was a bit steep at first, and I wish there were more pre-built sensor options.

Proactive Network Management Made Easy

Commentaires : The overview that PRTG provides about network health and performance is incredibly important in detecting and resolving a possible security threat at its quickest. This proactive approach reduces our downtime a great deal and increases our overall security posture.

Avantages :

PRTG really excels at providing detailed network visibility. Customizable dashboards and real-time alerting enable strong security. The way this integrates with other existing systems, with deep reporting, makes my proactive management of risk much easier.

Inconvénients :

While PRTG is feature-rich, the initial setup may be a little time-consuming. It would be nice if there were more streamlined configuration options for quicker deployment.

Monitoring with some limits

Commentaires : overall we are pretty happy with this product.

Avantages :

I really like the scheduled scanning with templates for specific ip ranges, so that even new servers/devices/components directly are monitored without forgetting them to add. Also the possibility to write own sensors with Powershell or other languages is very good.

Inconvénients :

Batch management is poor in some places. if you want to manage multiple servers at once it is possible at some places but there are limitations so that some task are pretty repetative if you need to add batches, or you have to use workarounds.

BEST NETWORK MONITOR

Commentaires : Very great Experince especially for Network Monitoring and Tracking of the Different Network Devices and Sensors.

Avantages :

1. Easy Access and Management of a large number of Both LANs and WANs on just a single window. 2. On-premises installation for full control over the company's data, configuration & updates. 3. Free Version of the Software with most of the core network management tools with its limitation being that it offers only 10 Sensors.

Inconvénients :

Sensor Limitations: The Free Version of the Software is limited to only 10 sensors

Commentaires : Good reliable and stable partner for IT monitoring. We have been using it for years now.

Avantages :

Wide range of available sensors. Easy setup.

Inconvénients :

No probes for linux systems - although it is still possible to monitor linux devices.

PRTG Performance Review

Avantages :

PRTG captures a big picture overview of an organization's entire infrastructure, the good and the bad which creates a reliable source for users who are seeking for monitoring purposes.

Inconvénients :

PRTG can benefit by having more alert settings in different situations or having the ability to pause on certain devices at the discretion of the user.

I like PRTG, always is working

Avantages :

I used PRTG in several environnements accros my work, and every time the setup was faster. I used at home too, there is free licence that you can use.

Inconvénients :

When you use some sensors using a specifically SNMP string and a update arrive, your sensor can be down and you need to rebuild all the sensor again to make it work.

Highly Customizable and Very Capable Systems Monitor.

Commentaires : Saved our bacon numerous times. Was able to monitor just about everything I could throw at it. Very satisfied with the performance and options of the product.

The plethora of ways and systems to monitor. Built in support for Windows Active Directory, DNS, SQL Server and more. So many aspects to monitor - SSL Certificates, Running Services, individual SQL tables.With SNMP, you can add anything that supports that protocol. I Added Printer toner levels.Integrates out of the box with Active Directory, for single sign on purposes. Fine grained security options. An API to easily add new systems.The free version is full featured, limiting only the amount of sensors (100) you can run.Built in Integration with other well known systems like Meraki, and Sophos.

Inconvénients :

It's a great product that does what it does every well. Nothing really comes to mind. Perhaps too much customization.

A great product if you just need a simple and free monitor or Enteprise Leve one

Commentaires : I currently use the free product where I work now, but in the past have used the enterprise product for a larger oragnization.

Avantages :

There are a lot of different things you can monitor, prebuilt templates and even custom things that you can build. Having a free product helps a lot to see if it's what you need in your environment.

Inconvénients :

I wish AD logon integration was included in the free version instead of 1 shared account.

I like that it is great for smaller environments that don't have the necessity for bigger competitors - the GUI is good as well

It is lacking in customizable alerts that fit our particular needs but it suffices.

Lack of mfa for builtin accounts. Need to use 3rd party tools to use mfa.

Commentaires : PRTG is a powerful tool that greatly helps any IT team, by relying on protocols such as snmp and netflow among others, it allows to acquire very accurate traffic information in the different equipment with which it communicates, this gives an image of the current status of the equipment or service analyzed, thus ensuring immediate response to any eventuality occurred which sometimes represents losses of money for the organization.

Avantages :

The tool provides us with certain functionalities adaptable to our network topology in order to have 24/7 monitoring of each of the elements involved; being based on sensors we can configure the thresholds according to our metrics to detect alterations in these and once presented an abnormal event the tool with its great capacity of notifications allows the IT team to locate the root of the failure and make corrections in a timely manner, with this we have mitigated the impact on the SLA.

Inconvénients :

As a recommendation should be sized very well the amount of elements to monitor in order to make use of the appropriate license, once you have the corresponding sensors should be strategically located in the different nodes, servers or cloud services to have the measurements that your team requires, otherwise the tool is very customizable and adaptable to every need.

Almost 2 Year with my favourite Monitoring Tool

Commentaires : I've been training some new persons in our company to use PRTG, and they are using it like pros.It is a great tool to use, today we have more than 35 thousand sensors monitoring devices.

Avantages :

PRTG is an easy-to-use monitoring tool, it is easy to get going, To set up a monitoring environment is easy, just deploy a core server or a remote probe connected to the core server.The auto discovery is a great tool to get the monitoring of devices fast.

Inconvénients :

Sometimes the auto discovery tool affect the application performance.The Map Designer should be better with more options to personalize the maps.A Grafana extension should be implemented.
