En savoir plus sur PrintSmith Vision
EFI PrintSmith Vision est une solution logicielle de gestion d'impression conçue pour l'impression rapide, les imprimantes sur site et les imprimeurs franchisés.
PrintSmith Vision is very cost-effective for a small business and it works well enough for your day to day tasks. Having a full HTML5 version is exciting.
We have had challenges with the updates. The software is on our server and it is more difficult to do than when we were using the Classic version.

L'impression d'étiquettes
Avantages :
Très facile à utiliserUne impression blanc noir et à couler avec taille de papier A4 A3 A2
Inconvénients :
Très bénéfique surtout l'ancreEt une connexion Wi-Fi

An innovative and modern software system for any print company.
Commentaires : Print Smith is what I started off with when I started my job. Print Smith Vision is the evolution of this order management system that continues to innovate and surprise its users. I would recommend this program to anyone running a printing or marketing management business.
Avantages :
What I liked most about this software was all the new features in it. The amount of details and flexibility for each line item and job helps us push for more customers.
Inconvénients :
My only complaint about this software is it does occasionally get weird glitches. These glitches take away paper stock we have and we have to wait on an IT tech to work on it.
PrintSmith Vision Review
Commentaires : We have been using PrintSmith since the beginning of time, so we have seen a lot of changes over the years. We are very pleased with how the application has developed into a robust application that is now able to interact with DSF.
Avantages :
Once it is fully set up, it is an easy-to-use application. Most importantly, it allows the end-user to place orders online via DSF, which makes the whole data entry process easy to oversee and maintain.
Inconvénients :
Some options are locked such as when searching Web Orders, the search option cannot be customized so instead of 'Invoice' as default, to change 'Web Order'
Solid product with great potential but still falls short.
Commentaires : We've been PS users since 2004. Each time new owners purchase the suite of products, development accellerates for a time, then resources are reallocated elswhere and updates and fixes come more slowly. This can be very frustrating, however it's fairly common in the software world of today.
Avantages :
Of the MIS systems available, this is the most cost effective solution. Some support representatives such as [sensitive content hidden] are fantastic. PS is a solid base product with long development history.
Inconvénients :
The development team, while good, is smaller so changes, bug fixes and enhancements take a long time. Third party solutions are needed to provide features that should be provided natively. Needs cost effective web-to-print option, better native CRM features, and better billing integration.

Pourquoi passer à PrintSmith Vision : Printsmith was the most cost effective option.
Commercial Printer Approved; Easy Interface and New Feature Rollouts Often
Commentaires : I have looked into other similar applications that are competitive to PrintSmith, but nothing has been able to compare to the depth of detail and usability that PrintSmith has. Despite the bugs (which are inevitable in any software), this is a great system that makes our day to day very streamlined.
Avantages :
The interface is relatively straightforward to use, making it train someone on. The ability to make templates and copy from the account history is helpful in keeping consistency across jobs as well. In the last few years, the developers have really taken on a lot of feature requests from users and are making significant updates that we have been asking for to make our workflow easier.
Inconvénients :
It's a fairly buggy system to the point where we will have to make workarounds or a different process other than what is recommended to get the results we are needing. Support is helpful and fairly quick to respond, but sometimes the problems are hard to diagnose since there are so many ways to use the program (bug vs. user error distinction).

Pourquoi passer à PrintSmith Vision : This was a nice software but it relied heavily on integrating more systems that we currently use to make it worth the while for us. PrintSmith has the ability to add additional software integrations but functions just fine without them.
PSV is the only software we would use for our size business
Commentaires : PSV has been a solid piece of business software that is cost effective and is up for us 99.9% of the time.
Avantages :
Great software - excellent support - have using PS for 20 + years - glad it is self hosting. Have the cloud option but will never use it.
Inconvénients :
Does not have a report writer built in. I am able to use the i-net report writer as well as write sql statements to retrieve the data I need; however, a more intuitive simplified report writer would be nice.
PrintSmith accounting standpoint
Commentaires :
On the accounting standpoint, it is usable.
On the estimating standpoint, it is outstanding.
On the reporting aspect, the tools could be better for finding facts and figures.
On the purchase orders, more space could be used or realigned if needed.
Avantages :
Various menus and numerous options for estimating when printing any type of products.
Inconvénients :
Not enough options for reports or options to change up what you need.
The Printsmith Legacy
Commentaires : Have used Printsmith since the late 80's. It's a valuable tool even as we use it being a small print shop.
Avantages :
Comprehensive software for printers specifically with the ability to be used in many ways.
Inconvénients :
Highly complicated but it has to be in order to conform to so many different companies that work in so many different ways.
Alternatives envisagées précédemment : QuickBooks Enterprise
Pourquoi passer à PrintSmith Vision : Like many of the things we use we end up paying for the more powerful tool even if we aren't using all that we are paying for.
Easy for Beginners
Commentaires : From start to finish, working with PrintSmith is easy to learn and pick-up on. As someone who was new to the printing industry, I had a lot to learn but PrintSmith made it a lot easier and brought the learning curve down.
Avantages :
The software is very easy to learn for someone with no industry experience.
Inconvénients :
Some things don't quite work all the time or as intended.

Commentaires : My over all experience is 9 out 10 good. We have used it in our business since 2000 and have watched many positive changes.
Avantages :
The ability to look up account history The ability to upload my paper suppliers price list The templates are great.
Inconvénients :
I wish you were forced to enter the Invoice Title to include all items on an invoice, rather than it auto inserting the 1st item. I wish that you could link A/R with Quick Books online at no extra cost. The reports seem to be very complicated. I wish there was a more cost efficent solution for online orders.
PrintSmith is a Workhorse
Commentaires : It's been good. And it's a workhorse. Just needs to be more intuitive and software management could be simplified.
Avantages :
We have been using PrintSmith since the early 1990's and while it has had some bugs, the tram is responsive and it consistently gets the jpb done.
Inconvénients :
1. Updates require an entire manual reinstall instead for thr self-hosted server instead of the more familiar single click authorization, then the software handles the updates seemlessly. 2. Forms require a third party app and specialized skill. while enterprise sized business may have the resources to "program" and make changes to fors, small family owned companies do not. Everything has moved to simple Codeless programming with drag and drop capabilites and the forms should as well, without the third party software.
Difficult system to use, but can be useful
Commentaires : Often need to "trick" the program to get the results needed. Credit department is, Sorry I have no other word than incompetent. Never had so much difficulty trying to give people money.
Avantages :
Monthly detailed reports, Browser based access.
Inconvénients :
Difficulty of use, poor UI, Extremely difficult to setup.
Great Service
Commentaires : We have had great experience using PrintSmith since last 3 years. The regular updates are good. The customer service back up is superb.
Avantages :
Printsmith is very user friendly. All the information about your job work is at your finger tips.
Inconvénients :
Not much. Their always a scope of improvement.
Sir Speedy Canada
Commentaires : Overall it has been a very good experience, couldn't function without it
Avantages :
It is very easy to use, Invoicing customers and keeping track of payments saves me lots of time.
Inconvénients :
I can't use it if the internet is down. Doesn't happen very often but a pain when it does.
PrintSmith Review
Commentaires : Been using PrintSmith for almost 20 years, including production and management.
Avantages :
Very efficient to use. Breaks down prices as needed.
Inconvénients :
Set up, including reports is very cumbersome
It works well
Commentaires : It has not been bad Had a few minor problems
Avantages :
It is fairly Intuitive if you have been in the printing business for awhile
Inconvénients :
It Can be Very Complex in writing up Jobs
Printsmith CRM
Commentaires : Quick, good options for storing and sorting for multiple department touches.
Avantages :
The ability to interface with several of our other CRM products.
Inconvénients :
Not effectively built to process signage estimates/orders.
Love PrintSmith :)
Avantages :
Our site order times have reduced considerably. Inventory has been much easier to manage.
Inconvénients :
We've had to reach out for support a few times to get things resolved, which works out fine, but would love to be able to fix things without doing so.
Good for entry level users
Commentaires : PrintSmith does estimating and job management quite well. Inventory has been recently implemented but we're finding as have others that it doesn't work properly yet. For what it is, it works better than lesser systems but it doesn't do everything needed.
Avantages :
It does what a small printshop needs to do - tracks information way better than doing so manually. Set up is fairly simple but takes some time to understand and become familiar with. In my years of working with many different EFI products (Hagen, Monarch, Epace, Printsmith) it's difficult to get someone on the phone who really understands printing and what is being asked. As an example - a field might be called something. If you need clarification about what's meant to go there, good luck. Representatives can parrot back the help screens or what's in a manual but if you want more actual help with how the system is used, an incident has to be escalated to get a programmer to contact you. After that, it takes a bit to get that person to really understand what you are trying to do because they often aren't USERS and/or are not users in a Print Production Operation.
Inconvénients :
Many of the features don't work as they are supposed to (inventory is one) - there is not an easy way to interface with EFI regarding the status of the software or bugs - one can log into a list serve and see the issues but who knows when something might work right. Before working at Ferris another company where I managed used PrintSmith as well. Similar issues. It does some things well, other things not. Some things that seem logical, it does not do - like a mechanism that offers discounts or credits on the cash register. There's no way to allow a receipt of a coupon or enter a discount without entering a job and going away from the cash register. Set up is fairly simple but takes some time to understand and become familiar with. In my years of working with many different EFI products (Hagen, Monarch, Epace, Printsmith) it's difficult to get someone on the phone who really understands printing and what is being asked. Some honest thoughts about PrintSmith Vision from a longtime user
Commentaires : While PrintSmith Vision gets the job done, it can be an unpleasant experience. Printsmith Classic was a much better software and was incredibly fast. We could build quotes in real time while talking to a customer. Can't do that with Vision. It's too slow, unreliable and buggy. I hope this gets fixed in the new version.
Avantages :
It's the only software option available for the print industry that isn't outrageously priced. It does a good job of maintaining a database of clients, building quotes and managing projects.
Inconvénients :
This software is clunky, slow, and buggy. An unpleasant user experience and has always felt like a downgrade from PrintSmith Classic. Simple updates are a pain and we never receive notifications that there is a new update. PS Vision updates have never supported current operating systems, and are typically a few OS versions behind. EFI made the unfortunate decision to develop Vision in Flash which at the time everyone knew was losing support in favor of HTML5. This is most likely why it's so buggy. Hopefully they get the new version right but early versions of "Fast Track" leave me uneasy and lacking confidence because many important features we used in Classic and Vision are not available (for example dragging jobs and line items over from other invoices and estimates).
Customer support was great
Commentaires : I was able to remove an outdated server, and replace it with a hosted solution that does the same functions for less than the cost of keeping a server running on prem.
Avantages :
We had been using PrintSmith for 10+ years, and had a very old version. We had a server with a USB device that served as the key, and would remote in to do jobs. Our print team was very reluctant to change cause it just worked, and had for a decade. So the upgrade process was a multi stage that could have been a real nightmare. But working with the EFI team we got them into our old environment they pulled the data upgraded everything and then deployed it into our new Vision environment. Than they did training for the user so they would understand how it has changed.
Inconvénients :
EFI had some growing pains with Flash and it no longer being used. That seems to be resolved.
Worth the investment if you have the time
Commentaires : Overall it has helped our business processes but it takes a lot of time to setup and manage. I wish more training was offered - I know we are only using some of the most basic features and at times we still feel like we are stumbling.
Avantages :
It's nice that we can price complex jobs fairly quickly once the system was set up.
Inconvénients :
The conversion to HTML (instead of Flash) has been very long, and we are still concerned about missing functions on the HTML side. It also takes a bit of time to go in and update pricing - could be much more user friendly especially for basic functions. Wish there were more standard reports available. We also purchased Digital StoreFront under the impression that the two systems would sync seamlessly, and this hasn't been the case. We have to manage complex pricing in both systems, which is a nightmare since the two use completely different pricing methodologies. One would assume that if you update a paper price in one system that you sync it with the other system automatically.
Vision and Digital Storefront
Commentaires : EFIs team is amazing to work with. They are very responsive and knowledgeable with the products that they sell. One on one training is well worth the cost and they help you customize the product to your needs.
Avantages :
Vision is a great software and very versatile when it comes to estimating a project. It allows you to not only estimate a project but take it into production and then bill out at the end. It also has a good integration with Digital Storefront allowing easy access for clients to place orders.
Inconvénients :
Vision can be challenging to learn if you do not have a printing background, so that is very help when it comes to operating the software. Also the integration with Digital Storefront is very time consuming and not as easy as expected.
Terrible Customer Service and upgrades are still a work in progress
Commentaires : Overall, we would appreciate a better response on the customer service side and be able to talk to someone that can help us migrate as well as figure out these issues with the new system.
Avantages :
The new Fast Track puts things in front of you for easy access.
Inconvénients :
Inconvenient to go from Legacy to Fast Track to access items not available in the new system yet. Customer service is lacking - requests to have someone call is answered with instructions on how to do it yourself and our request is immediately closed out. We finally had someone call us from overseas (India) and he was unable to get us operational on a new computer. At square one again as far as moving Printsmith to another computer. Reports are not as user friendly in the new Fast Track side. Can't easily retrieve Daily Sales and Monthly Sales as we were able to in the Legacy side. Would like a feature to turn off seeing every part in Work in Progress, to name a few.
Vision without goals equals no direction.
Commentaires : Excellent support services. Thank you!
Avantages :
The users ability to make unique changes that complement a specific application. I can customize features that are unique to the way we do business. Such as, turning products on that we use and eliminating the viewable items that we do not use.
Inconvénients :
We need to have merchant services more streamlined into the software to support the new way our customers pay. We now deliver all of our products but the person who needs to pay the invoice is not available upon delivery. Thus, an emailed invoice with an integrated secure online pay is necessary. I also want to send a paid invoice with the words PAID on it. Customers want to see a receipt of payment but the invoice by itself does not show that it has been paid. Yes, a statement works but our clients just need a paid invoice receipt.
