The Best Language Learning App I Have Ever Experienced So Far!

5,0 il y a 6 mois

Commentaires : I like that it is a very efficient way to learn a new language. I also like how it is gamified so that it makes it more fun and engaging. Besides, I can enroll in more than one language at a time and keep practicing simultaneously. It has a learning streak which is like if you don't practice for a few days in a row then your progress will go back to down level and you have to start again from the past although you can freeze the streak a few times. Overall it really helped a lot in learning the basics of language.

Avantages :

There are many things I like about the Duolingo language learning software. Firstly, it is free which makes it accessible to everyone. Secondly, it is very user-friendly and you can learn at your own pace. Finally, it provides a great way to learn a new language or brush up on your existing language skills. I like that Duolingo offers a variety of languages to choose from. I also appreciate the fact that it uses a game-like format to make language learning fun and engaging.

Inconvénients :

Every product comes with a con but to be frank I didn't find any major cons for the app. Hence it is really enjoyable. But sometimes the repetitive tests may seem boring for the users as the app sometimes brings up the same lessons again and again. The learning process is a bit slow.

Duolingo is a brilliant app for learning a new language

5,0 il y a 3 semaines Nouveau

Commentaires : Overall, I am totally satisfied with Duolingo. It is very easy to use, and keep track of your language learning progress. I use the free version, and I totally suggest you to use it for language learning.

Avantages :

I love learning a new language, and Duolingo is a great app for this purpose. I keep track of my progress in the app, and see other users' progress. My friends and I are learning Spanish all through this app, and we can see eachother's progress and encourage eachother in the app. I love that this is a way for me to communicate with them through the app. I use it usually in the weekends. It is really interesting to me, and it is fun and easy to use. I like the scoring system, keeps me encouraged to continue. The service is also being improved, since the time I joined. I totally recommend Duolingo to a friend. It totally worth it.

Inconvénients :

I do not have so many dislikes. The only things I think can be improved are as follows: The microphone for the speaking exercises sometimes doesn't work. Duolingo customer service is not really good. They do not get back to you for questions or concerns. The ads in Duolingo pop up when you finish a lesson, which I do not like.

A Wonderful First Step

3,0 le mois dernier Nouveau

Commentaires : My overall experience has been satisfactory. I would recommend this app to anyone who does not know where to begin. However, those seeking more in-depth instruction should turn to other methods.

Avantages :

There are several features of Duolingo which I like. First, the gamification aspect is top-notch. It is designed to hook users for the purpose of learning a language. I also like how intuitive it is and the learner portal quality. Duolingo also has the feature to connect with friends around the world. This provides accountability.

Inconvénients :

I think there should be less focus on grammar and more focus on intuitively learning the language. Linguistic Anthropologists would agree that memorizing grammar is not the best step for language learning. There should be an emphasis on cultural slang/dialects. There should also be a focus on learning vocabulary, which is useful first. Then, the grammar can be introduced.

An Interactive place to Learn New Languages in a Fun Way

4,0 il y a 3 mois

Commentaires : Duolingo has a knack for inspiring students. All of the app's features, including the daily tasks, leaderboards, progress reports, and peaceful atmosphere, are ideal for my passive learning style. Since the lessons are brief, I typically begin one without devoting a lengthy session to it. So far, the experience has been fantastic.

Avantages :

You can enroll in a variety of language classes. The way the entire learning process is organized on Duolingo — gamified, soothing, bite-sized courses to dip into whenever, even on the road — is among its most appealing features. Everything is well-organized and simple to use, including progress monitoring, looking back at previously taught materials, leaderboards, and communities for discussion with other learners and professionals. One fantastic aspect is that anyone may start learning any language right away without spending any money and avoiding receiving any advertising.

Inconvénients :

The program, in my opinion, is excellent for novices because it provides a solid starting point for language study. However, as you develop into an intermediate or expert level, you start to understand that the software can't really help you much more. The courses start to seem a little too robotic and calculated, which is bad if you want to advance. You will need to forego the app and experiment with different language learning strategies that provide more impromptu learning possibilities. The free version's restrictions are another drawback, but those are to be expected with any application, so we can't strictly blame Duolingo for them. In conclusion, I heartily endorse Duolingo for anyone learning a new language.

Revolutionizing Language Learning

5,0 le mois dernier Nouveau

Commentaires : In terms of ease of use, Duolingo is generally an intuitive and user-friendly platform. The app's layout is straightforward and easy to navigate, and lessons are presented in a logical order that allows users to progress at their own pace. it also provides several tools to track progress and performance, making it easy to monitor employees' language learning progress.

Avantages :

One of the standout features is the platform's adaptive learning algorithm, which personalizes the learning experience by adjusting the difficulty of lessons based on users' performance. This ensures that users are consistently challenged and engaged, making it easier to retain new vocabulary and grammar concepts.

Inconvénients :

I feel that the platform's speech recognition software could be improved to better understand the nuances of different accents and dialects. The app's timed lessons can be challenging for beginners, and the vocabulary and grammar lessons can be repetitive.

Duolingo honest review

Avantages :

"With every one of the positive credits that the application has, I accept an extraordinary and fun device might be utilized by kids and families for learning, however for spending recreation.""I essentially love it, and I prescribe it to every one of my companions and partners. It keeps tabs on my development and you take up where you forgot about on your next use."

Inconvénients :

Each item accompanies a con however truth be told I tracked down no significant cons for the application. Subsequently it is truly charming. Be that as it may, in some cases the dreary tests might appear to be exhausting for the clients as the application at times raises similar illustrations over and over. The growing experience is a piece slow.

Duolingo totally worth it. It encourages you to learn a new language in no time.

5,0 le mois dernier Nouveau

Commentaires : I am totally satisfied with this applciation. I am still on the free version, and it totally worth it. I use my spare time in a great way, playing Duolingo and learning another language.

Avantages :

I have been using Duolingo for sometime. I usaully use it in the weekends for about an hour. I have learned a little bit of two languages through this App. It is very attractive, easy, and fast. You can set it up to your level. I practice languages for conversations and I find this application suitable for me. I totally recommend Duolingo for having some fun time in a productive way.

Inconvénients :

I believe Duolingo is in a right direction. It would be great if it could include mrore languages. I can not find some languages in this app. Also, it is a little hard to learn the grammer using this app. After more than a year of using it, I can have short conversations, which is still great. It would be nice if they add more visual features in it.

Excellent language learning app

5,0 il y a 11 mois

Commentaires : Duolingo has definitely impacted communications with others who speak different languages. Comprehension of written communication has seen the most positive change, followed by the ability to speak and then listening/understanding verbal communication. I believe this is due to the nuance of individual speakers' accents and phrasing. Overall, the learning attributable to Duolingo is significant.

Avantages :

I highly recommend Duolingo. There's a free option available, which includes adds and some limited features, yet the Pro option is excellent. This is definitely a "get out of it what you put in to it" tool, and if utilized regularly, users will learn a language. Lessons focus on "useful" learning i.e. key words and phrases vs. conjugation of verbs and other grammatical elements. Those things are incorporated in to the lessons, yet the user almost doesn't notice because it's so well integrated.

Inconvénients :

The sequencing of some of the lessons seems a bit strange sometimes, as why one topic comes after another and not before can be odd. However, it's minor and perhaps even more of a preference.

Excellent start for learning languages - Tries to turn it into a game

4,0 il y a 12 mois

Avantages :

I dont think i've seen other learning tools and apps succeed in gamification in the same way as Duolingo. This gives a great advantage for casual learners and can help them develop basics of a language as opposed to a standard learning environment. It also provides a relatively productive way to handle 'slack time' that you may have during a bus, train or underground trip on the way to work or somewhere else.

Inconvénients :

The software is great for casual learning. But should you become serious about learning a language to the point of intensive lessons you may find Duolingo lacking compared to a traditional course.

Learn so many languages for free!

5,0 il y a 2 ans

Commentaires : It changed the way I learn. It is so effective and flexible that I can devote few minutes to few hours every day and learn something every day.

Avantages :

1. You can learn almost any language in the world for free in a user-friendly manner. 2. Rewards, points, stars, bonuses keep motivating you to learn more. There is no limit on how much you can practice. 3. There are stories, daily practice lessons, grammar tips to help you learn from the very beginning. 4. You can create streaks, double your points, wear attire for the Duo mascot. 5. You can practice, earn points, and clear checkpoints to motivate you. 6. There are listening and speaking exercises too. 7. You have leaderboards to compete. 8. You can follow friends and give them high five to encourage. 9. You can feel proud of the achievement badges that you earn with a lot of hard work. 10. You can clear your doubts by posting to people in the community groups while practicing lessons. 11. You can study multiple languages by adding as many courses as you want.

Inconvénients :

1. There is no video interface to learn the nuances of a language. 2. If you give feedback for wrong sentences in rare cases, you may not hear back soon. 3. You cannot chat with friends you follow. 4. Sometimes you get the same sentences for practice which may defeat the very purpose of learning.

Best Language Learning App

5,0 il y a 9 mois

Commentaires : Amazing: - Learning something new
- Getting help with cognitive exercise
- connecting with other users
- economical
- tracking the progress

Avantages :

- The choices we have as a user to learn from 'N' number of languages (I tried French, Korean, Spanish, Arabic, finally ending up with German, which I felt more interested in, currently i'm on a 272 days streak ) - Being able to track the Progress - More than the language learning, I use it as a mental and cognitive exercise tool, and encourage my therapy patients to try it out, as I feel it helps in cognitive development, memory and concentration, - Love the graphics of the app, its really pleasing to the eyes, - The reminder system, you have an option to get a whatsapp reminder, app notification reminder, mail or text reminder - The reward system in the app, you get 'gems' and 'XP', 'time boosters' and 'story section' (My favorite) as rewards which you can further use to do more language exercises and more - Recently added 'Feed' section to learn more about things happening around in the Duolingo world and more information - Being able to compete with other users and much more

Inconvénients :

- reporting an error in a language exercise was difficult

Looks like a game, although it works as a teaching plan!

5,0 l’année dernière

Commentaires : I'm a happy user of Duolingo. I recommend it to my students. It's not possible to learn a language entirely only using a Duolingo (well, that's not surprising), but it's way easier if a student uses it. I like their new features (podcasts, short stories). I would like to see improvements on machine translation and to see more customer support when users spot mistakes in the phrases.

Avantages :

It looks like a game - beautifully designed and user friendly; there are new features now and then (podcasts, short stories, grammar comments, etc.); constantly changing and adding new material or diving the old one in different chapters; works both on phone and on desktop device; easy to keep track of learning.

Inconvénients :

There is a feature of "streak" - how many days in a row have you used Duolingo and earned XPs (points). However, if one can't keep up with the streak, usually it ends up in losing motivation to learn after all. This is especially true for those who had 100-200 days of streak (well, I'm one of them!) Some topics are devided into so many small classes that they become too repetitive and might seem boring. Sometimes the phrases you need to translate make no sense at all ("my blu turtle wears black jeans" style of sentences). Also, Duolingo lacks flexibility in terms of machine translation - it simply doesn't accept different answers to the same question, although it should

A great way to learn a language!

5,0 il y a 8 mois

Commentaires : It's been a good way to ensure I keep practicing every day.

Avantages :

This is a very user-friendly and fun way to begin learning a language. Of course, it cannot entirely replace either a language class or practicing speaking with others fluent in your target language, but it is a good way to begin to learn some vocabulary and grammar so that you can begin speaking confidently. It is fun to use, and provides good positive feedback. It also incentivises you to practice daily, which is critical for learning a language.

Inconvénients :

The 'hearts' system where points are taken away for each mistake can be annoying, and you either have to pay a monthly subscription to get rid of it, or pay with diamonds (points given for successful lessons or purchased) to keep the lesson going if you run out completely during a lesson. Given it's a free service I guess this is a minor problem. Some people find the cartoon characters (Duo and friends) annoying, but this depends on your preferences I guess.

Easy Language Learner

5,0 l’année dernière

Commentaires : Was using the free version for a while and it's been great. Those ads have been realy obnoxious and feel my Spanish reading and vocab has improved a enough to order the 12 month plan. Definetely recommend full version.

Avantages :

I really like the app. It is great to learn the basics. To be clear just using Duolingo to learn a language is not enough. You need other methods as well and most importantly you need to practice with native speakers. Btw, not only is their platform pleasing, fast, and fun, it works as promised! the only downside is of course the ads (and hence the 4 stars -- program and content is 5 stars for sure), but hey, IT IS FREE! IGNORING THE ADS IS A SMALL PRICE TO PAY!

Inconvénients :

Quantity of material varies among languages. And I was really enjoying the program and the motivation it provided to keep my daily usage streak going., but reporting the bug is not easy, I did my best and after 3 days they have responded. That nippers little bit.

A must have for anyone interested in language learning or teaching

5,0 il y a 2 ans

Commentaires : Duolingo is a great app for whoever wants to learn, start learning or just stay engaged with the languages they're interested in. I use it to learn Japanese and whenever I develop an interest for any language, Duolingo is the first app that comes to mind. I've used several other software to try to learn but I always come back to Duolingo.

Avantages :

I teach languages for a living and one of the biggest challenges was to gauge how much and exactly what the students know. With Duolingo my job became a lot easier with their Duolingo For Schools product. Duolingo already makes language learning fairly simple by avoiding to overcomplicate the learning process with dense grammar and leaning towards a more intuitive experience but when they introduced this new feature on top of that it only made my love for the app even deeper.

Inconvénients :

Duolingo is a very intuitive app but it falls short when it comes to certain features. For example: it's very difficult to set up Duolingo For Schools and in the mobile app there isn't even any button for it. The student has to go to the settings and look for it. Also, Duolingo has features for some languages and not for others. I guess this is due to the time it takes to create content but until the day comes this will always feel like a downside.

Love Duo!

5,0 il y a 3 mois

Commentaires : I love duo! It helps me to keep learning and is fun and easy to use! I find the stories are really nice for 'real-world' applications of using the vocabulary. Honestly, highly recommend!

Avantages :

Duo is so easy to use and fun! It keeps me accountable and helps me to remember words that I may otherwise forget if it wasn't for the good timing! I like that it's a quick daily lesson and that Duo sends reminders if I fall off from Daily use. User friendly, cute graphics, and most importantly useful for language learning!

Inconvénients :

There's very little that I would list as a con with Duolingo. I use the free version so not all features are unlocked, which works for me, but you do have the option to pay to unlock more features. They give you the option to flag answers that you believe may have an error, but it does that a while for those to be reviewed.

that's why i use Duolingo to learn any language

Avantages :

Duolingo is a really common software to learn any language as a beginner, it has multiple versions, you can use it on your mobile, computer, tablet... Duolingo is using great technics to make learning easy for you, there are audio exercises, short stories...Duolingo has a great rewarding system, to make you really motivated to learn, you can practice any language you want anytime and there are no limits, the thing that I really liked more, that the app is always in touch with you and sends you notifications every day to remind you of your lessons, to be honest, the software is soo fun, I really enjoy it, and i use it most of my time.it has such a big impact on our lives.

Inconvénients :

the thing that i liked least, The ads. I don't see that ads are a good idea, and i think that can be affecting people while learning and distract them.
