PCC Success

Commentaires : This is our EHR/EMR platform. It allows us to chart on our residents, document their medication administrations.

Avantages :

The ease of use. PCC is very user friendly and for many users can be taught with minimal instruction time. It is web-based so there is no program that has to be downloaded. There is a great support system of users through their Pulse network, which allows you to ask questions and get ideas from people that are using it day in and day out like yourself.

Inconvénients :

There are several things. One is the way you set up their user roles. It is confusing and there is nothing straight forward about it. While I'm on the clinical side I know that our business office had a bunch of issues in the beginning and clinical would be told to do something one way and the business the exact opposite. We had issues with that for a while, but they have resolved over the last couple of years. Their modules as add-on can be expensive and the cost of set up of the module is expensive.

Powerful, well- established software

Commentaires : We began implementation in 2017 with the acquisition of 6 facilities at once. While doing an implementation for the first time with no experience during acquisition is not for the faint of heart, we did receive plenty of support and our Customer Success Managers were always at the ready to assist us.

Avantages :

I like that there is a lot of opportunity for interoperability with pharmacies, physicians, and payers. This software is well-connected to the industry and respected by it. Physicians are more likely to send their patients to you if they know you use PCC.

Inconvénients :

Because it's a powerful application, the learning curve can be a bit daunting unless you have someone in each department who really knows it. I wish that more training opportunities were available directly from PCC. I will say, however, that if you used the customer support portal from within the application, you can find most answers that you need.

Commentaires : Overall I like the desire to build better, make communications better. The idea that it doesn't have to always be the same.

Avantages :

The interventions within the care plans. Varies links within the system, allowing the ability to link documentation.

Inconvénients :

new features have faults in updating. Sometimes it is hard to get error corrected/to physically speak with someone who can assist. the 672/802 format could be updated. We had Matrix before, the work flow was easier and saved time compared to PCC.

Commentaires : Easy to use; easy to find resident information. We really like how so much documentation can be created automatically vs. having to write everything from scratch.

Avantages :

Many of the nurses we employ have already used PCC in the past so switching was a logical choice. We have found it's easy for the nurses to adapt to PCC and they enjoy using the platform.

Inconvénients :

Verbiage has been a bit different in PCC so it's take some time to get used to that, i.e., Face Sheets = Admission Record. There also isn't a way to create process steps or check lists in PCC so we have had to revert to paper to ensure all nurses follow the same steps.

Commentaires : My experience has overall always been positive. I have used PCC as a nurse on the floor, at a facility manager level and at a company manager level and at all three levels I have found it to be way to learn, and it provides all the tools required to complete my job. The ability to use SmartZone for education can't be understated as it allows managers to not only suggest training videos but to directly assign them and track the progress if required. There is a lot of customization available throughout the platform, so for high level users it gives you a good amount of control over how to organize items and to guide the flow of your staff's work.

Avantages :

The platform offered by PCC for clinical care is excellent. It is intuitive and designed to be easy to learn even by those who are not comfortable with computers. Navigation is easy and the flow of the platform allows people to help others in person or remotely with ease. Their customer service is very good and will take the time to walk you through any issues or any processes you may be unfamiliar with.

Inconvénients :

There are some minor issues at the higher levels of usage. At times it is necessary to reach out to Customer Service with a Letter of Authorization in order to complete an audit and that may cause delays, but it is on rare occasion that there is information that can't be audited through the platform itself.

Helps us check all the boxes

Avantages :

PCC's Skilled Nursing Core platform has helped us spend more time taking care of our residents, less time on paper.

Inconvénients :

As with any SaaS, there's a learning curve, and time spent making sure it knows what WE need it to do. That said, with PCC's popularity, we frequently find that our new hires are already familiar with the platform, and that helps them get up to speed.

Overall review of SNF platform.

Commentaires : I am comfortable with this product however it doesn't always provide for our needs without some intervention and configurating.

Avantages :

It appeared to be user friendly but in many ways it's not.

Inconvénients :

The inability to customize without configuring a UDA that is time consuming and many times needs multiple revisions.

Adaptable to assisted living programs. Used POC /PCC in nursing homes but first in assisted living.

Inconvénients :

Just getting all departments to use as indicated. Many less tech savvy people that this is very new for them.

Commentaires : Overall the Skilled Nursing Platform has been a very easy to utilize and implement program. We are very pleased with how we are able to use it to reduce some of our workload by putting all things in one place; letting us focus on what is more important - our residents!

Avantages :

We have utilized PCC since 2010. The integration process varies depending on which modules that are being utilized. It does take some time, however PCC has put together a very logical and well thought out implementation plan to assist the company team to completion. The PCC program is easy to use and very customizable for company needs and specifications. There are routine upgrades and changes to the system almost weekly; very timely for our needs and those constant changes from the governmental agencies. All updates are done overnight at a time most convenient to our facility. Plenty of notice is given to the facility to ensure all are aware of potential downtime during installation. Utilization is very easy and easily trainable to even the most hesitant of computer users. The order entry, especially the queue feature are amazing!

Inconvénients :

The feature that is the most cumbersome in PCC is the Reports feature. It has been upgraded recently which has caused some frustration. While it has improved there are quite a few reports we would like to run and are not in the system. Risk Management is another area where there is some more work to be done; it is very limited in scope at this time.

PCC User and Administor Review

Commentaires : I would rate it as extremely positive, the system is expensive and I feel they could change the way they bill but overall the sytem is great.

Avantages :

It is very hard to say what I like most about this product but here are a few:1. The system allowed us to truly go paperless, we scan ancillary documents into the misc documents tab but we use document manager for all of our admission paperwork and consents. We also use the e-sign feature for careplans and assessments. 2. The fact that the system has the push/pull feature prevents duplicate documentation and saves the nurses time.3. Extremely responsive customer support through the Support Portal and our Customer Success Managers.4. I love the integrations with Pharmacy, Lab/Rad, Psych, PCC Connect, etc.

Inconvénients :

I am still not a fan of IPC, I like some parts of it but I feel it is too hard to manage as we continue to get duplicate cases. For my nurses brain I feel it is to complicated.

I use the financial aspect of this software; the GL/AP module

Commentaires : This software is so easy to use compared to others, in my experience.

Avantages :

PCC is very user friendly. We were able to implement and use it with very little training. I've used other software and had issues with journal entries not posting to the GL, or invoices not posting to the GL, but with PCC, all the modules communicate as they should. The reports that run through PCC are clear and easy to read unlike our previous software. I make bi-weekly payroll entries, using multiple GL accounts, and with PCC we can set up a recurring entry, only having to change the dollar amounts with each payroll. This saves a lot of time and work. Reports are searchable. When I'm entering an invoice, I can put notes in the memo, then If I'm looking for a specific memo for a vendor, I can pull a vendor transaction report, hit CTRL + F, and search the report for the invoice. This has come in handy quite often when we are trying to figure out when the last time we ordered something was, or how much we paid for it.

Inconvénients :

I would like to be able to change invoices while the period is open. Once they are entered, they must be voided to make any changes.

Point Click Care is a multi-faceted software with many great features. The number of different things it can do is amazing.

Avantages :

I like the ease of finding information. Many of the reports are very helpful - you can just adjust to your specifications and run. I have hardly ever seen trouble with the system going down or not working properly - very reliable.

Inconvénients :

I use the clinical tab more, but am in an administrative position within our LTC facility so reports are very helpful. I wish that there were a way to make the reports more customized - maybe a whole report writing feature where you could get the specific data that you are looking for, in the way that you want it to export. We also have trouble with the whole outpatient therapy set up. It seems confusing as to where to find the resident's information or where to upload documents when a resident is a outpatient SNF for therapy but is living in our assisted living or memory care unit. PCC won't recognize the resident as a new admit to SNF when they move into SNF if they are already an outpatient for therapy. Maybe we just need to know how to use it properly, but it seems rather convoluted and unclear.

The Only Software that a Skilled Nursing Facility Needs!

Avantages :

It is a complete package that covers all aspects of Nursing Care, from bathing to billing...

Inconvénients :

The only thing that I did not like about PCC when we started using it was the lack of included report writer. PCC has added a lot of reports, but there is still not the ability to just create your own, according to your needs.

Great use of Technology

Commentaires : I HAVE BEEN A PCC USER FOR ALMOST 15 YEARS FOR DIFFERENT COMPANIES WHO I MANAGE THE RAI PROCESS AND MDS FOR. PCC IS THE BEST. WITH THE RECENT UPDATES ON OCT 1ST 2023, PCC COMMUNICATED THE KNOWN ISSUES AND WAS SO RESPONSIVE TO ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS.

Avantages :

IT'S ALMOST INTUITIVE TO MANAGE RESIDENT CARE AND TO MAINTAIN CMS COMPLIANCE WITH HOW PCC FUNCTIONS

My experiences with PCC

Commentaires : Overall, I have approx 4 years of experience with this program, and like it the best, out of the other programs I've also used.

Avantages :

I enjoy the ease of using this product. It makes medication and treeatment passes easy. It provided quick look-up for patient profiles, personal contact information, and over-all general information on a patient.

Inconvénients :

Attempting to re-order medications can be a hassle. Since the update, one must re-order meds via the eMAR. This can be an issue due to time restraints of medication pass. Since the last two updates, manuevering the system has actually gotten more difficult, not easier. Attempting ot print out complete reports on medication and treament order history is not nearly as easy and simple stepped, as previously prior to the latest updates.

This literally changed how we do everything, for the better!

Commentaires : Overall I love the software, sometimes it can take a while to get an issue resolved, but mostly I love it and can't imagine going back to what we had before.

Avantages :

Very user-friendly, I know this has improved our collections over what we had before, tremendously. It's like night and day difference. Easy to use, easy to undo something if you've made a mistake, it's really the best software for this purpose I've ever used.

Inconvénients :

Sometimes they make changes that are actually not better than the way it was before. Like transaction history, it was fine before, now I can barely understand it. At least give us the option to use the older version or the newer version.

Best System in the Industry

Commentaires : I have implemented from the start to being an end user, trainer , consultant and security administrator.

Avantages :

The software is very easy to navigate. It is able to be customized to each individuals role in the organization.

Inconvénients :

When I did my fist implementation many years ago I felt it was very labor intensive. However, after doing many more implementations over the years PCC has improved the process and made it much easier to set up.

Commentaires : Good. There is nothing better for an all encompassing system for documentation in a nursing home.

Avantages :

This is the best overall software for a nursing home. I have dabbed in Matrix as well, and PointClickCare far out hustles. It is a much better software overall.

Inconvénients :

The customer service is terrible. It can take anywhere from 60 minutes to 120 minutes, just to get someone on the phone for them to help you. Even then, all they really do is say that they are going to reset the system or whatever and then leave you hanging. This needs some serious help.

Commentaires : I have been a user of this software for over 10 years at my work. I highly recommend this product which is why I believe it should be used across the nation to help standardize the way we document or retrieve data

Avantages :

It’s got everything you need to generate reports within seconds. It’s user friendly and easy to navigate the tabs etc.

Inconvénients :

So far I haven’t experienced any negative thing while exploring this software. Sometimes it’s slow but i believe it’s from our workplace internet and has nothing to do with pcc.

Commentaires : I use PointClickCare on a daily basis as a Dietitian in Long Term Care. It makes assessing residents very fast and efficient.

Avantages :

it is extremely easy to use and has all the appropriate categories to assess healthcare residents.

Inconvénients :

It seems to not work occasionally and I never know how long to expect it to be out of commission.
