Commentaires : Great antivirus software with very decent features, definitely telling my friends about this one.

Avantages :

It as powerful real time protection from viruses, malware, spyware etc. You have the option to set priority on certain areas you would like to scan as well as full system scan and it also provides protection when using your browser to surf the web.

Inconvénients :

It often picks up alot of false positives during a system scan, especially if you have certain games install on your computer, though there is a way to set the antivirus to ignore certain files in the settings of the app.

Customer Service NONEXISTENT

Commentaires : Problematical from day one. Received error message on installation. Never got that corrected.

Avantages :

The idea for AVG is great. The price is excellent. First off invoicing turned into a problem as I was billed 3 times for the same software and attempting to explain and have them understand left much to be desired. A coordinated piece of software that incorporates system management, as well as antivirus, should command their market share easily. When customer support is absent only a few customers, have sufficient skills to set up and optimize new software.

Inconvénients :

Billing was an ongoing problem. On my network, when I attempted to add a new machine; the billing was continually a source of errors. I was billed 3 to 4 times when I added a new machine and finally gave up and removed this software. The main problem area was the lack of communication skills. No one in my group could speak the language of the support group and so it stayed an area of serious problems. I still think their program is a good idea, yet it is way too soon in their development and they left the main area untouched and that is/was customer support!

AVG Business Edition is worth every penny!

Commentaires : AVG Internet Security Business Edition is great bang for the buck! It does not do everything security wise but the tasks it does do work great.

I love that I can set up AVG to automatically run most tasks in the background.

Sometimes AVG did not work well with other protective software we had installed on our computers.

Does the Worrying for You

Commentaires : I started using AVG in 2001 when the guy running the IT Dept. at the organization I was working for at the time recommended it. What was really attractive about it was that it was FREE. They do offer paid subscriptions as well but he explained to me that the areas not covered by AVG Free are covered by Microsoft in the security Windows comes with. He was right. And as time went by both AVG and Microsoft improved their security. It was so easy to integrate across all platforms too. I've been a fan ever since!

Avantages :

There is nothing about AVG that I didn't like; let me start there. Very simple to download and install on every device and platform I use - desktop, laptop, cell phone and iPad. They all offer it. Once downloaded and installed, they give you a number of different options to choose from depending on the type and level of security you need. It was a seamless process from start to finish.

Inconvénients :

Nothing at all. As mentioned above, there is not a thing about this software that disappoints or a threat that they don't offer security for. As new threats are discovered, they constantly update their software to address those issues as well. Great product all around

Basic Reliable Security

Commentaires : A decent level of security for free. But if you need advanced security, you will need to pay.

Avantages :

There aren't many bells and whistles out of the box here, but it does provide a decent level of security without cost, and has a long history of being a trustworthy company. I would recommend AVG to anyone on a budget needing basic levels of internet security.

Inconvénients :

Over the years, it has started to feel more and more money-oriented. In the past it was completely free and almost felt Open Source, but not anymore.

Requires optimization

Commentaires : AVG was a must-have back in the earlier days of the Internet, where built in antivirus protection didn't exist. Nowadays, I feel AVG will have to put a lot of work into improving their virus detection strategy to use less resources.

Avantages :

As an anti-virus software, AVG works well at its job. AVG has saved me from downloading/executing malicious content a couple of times years back, which saved me a lot of headache.

Inconvénients :

While AVG was a powerful anti-virus software in the 2000s to early 2010s, today most modern operating systems come with their own anti-virus protection. The most compelling reason to use built-in antivirus software is the level of optimization. I have found that AVG would occasionally suck up all my PC's resources to perform scans, which caused me a lot of frustration. This makes the performance to protection tradeoff extremely hard to justify. I think if AVG would be able to optimize their program to require less resources than Windows Defender, it would be significantly easier for me to recommend.

AVG Free or Paid Version?

Avantages :

As we all know AVG has a Free Home version that finds it way in to many Enterprise Businesses that are trying to save a buck. However their Paid Version is much more Robust and does get the Job Done! Therefore if your a Business you really need to purchase their Internet Security Business Edition. We have used BOTH! The Paid For Version is Highly Recommended!

Inconvénients :

I notice a lot more false positives with AVG that without BitDefender Installations but it was a close race! I would say that Price would dictate a lot of the installations we've seen with the caveat that the IT department stay on the ball and run MalwareBytes from time to time to see if either installation has missed something. All these programs have variations on their databases so we've found it's a good Idea to do this.

AVG IS TOP!

It will segregate the viruses and explain them, which is a very helpful feature, so you can look up the history and data of the little demon - or sometimes see what programmers have put in their software that potentially can hurt your business.

It can slow down the computer and get in the way until you get used to it. So you have to play with the schedules and time them when you're not doing heavy processing work.

Inconvénients :

The issue I ran into we're that the scanning takes up a lot of resources and slows down your computer. The price is like many others on the market your paying for a subscription service which is only a year and needs to be renewed. The software also seems to have to be updated, which is a time concern for many users.

The free tier certainly is what first attracted me to this software and the low pressure to upgrade afterwards built great personal respect for this brand. It is so easy to use and keep updated for that peace of mind that everyone needs.

Inconvénients :

No options for ADP at Router level protection. I have a router that does have options for AV at router level and could not find options to add AVG to this.

Free but Annoying

Commentaires : It ran often, but I'm not even sure it did a great job, since my computer ended up running really slowly. After using it for several years, upon the recommendation of a friend, I finally deleted it and switched to McAfee, which my husband recently purchased for our devices.

Avantages :

I used the free version of the software. Once downloaded, the program runs in the background, though you can run a specific scan whenever you want.

Inconvénients :

I did *NOT* like that the I was constantly getting notifications to upgrade! It was so annoying & frustrating every few days it seemed!

A great product for the rest of us

Commentaires : I have used AVG for many years on my personal computers. I don't have tons of money to use on computer security and AVG works great.

Avantages :

It's easy to use and configure. This has been consistently easy to use and has helped to protect my computer for years. Why pa for an expensive product when one that is cheaper like AVG just works?

Inconvénients :

I haven't found any real downsides with this software once you consider the cost. This is a lower cost product that works well.

Honestly there are no any cons to be mentioned about this software. The only thing that I have encountered is, it's free version only provides basic protection which sometimes may be disadvantageous.
