An affordable all-in-one Learning Management System

Commentaires : I can create courses intuitively and the results look nice.

Avantages :

It provides a mobile app. This is a very important feature in today's LMS requirements.

Inconvénients :

The UI for course admin is a bit clunky, but they said they would revamp the UI later this year. Besides, it's not essential.

Versatile and Robust Mobile-First LMS With Huge Potential

Commentaires : I have to admit, I was skeptical about YET ANOTHER learning management system. I’ve been in the space for a long time and I thought I had seen it all and there was no room for growth in 2021. However, I was wrong and this is so much more. Gurucan has huge potential to take your current learning experience and elevate it to a truly mobile-first experience. I’m not sure if anyone would argue that mobile is where everything is going. What’s even more interesting is that we were looking for a solution that would allow us to go mobile, take payments and sync with our other automation tools. This solution has helped us define the very fabric of what we're going to create next. With Gurucan, we can have a mobile solution, a desktop solution that allows for payments and marketing within the platform. That was part of our initial plan but we were going to build it from scratch. This is going to save us not only months of development and thousands of dollars, but also allow us to get to market much much faster.
While we're excited to see where the tool is going, But even happier that we're going along on the ride with them.

Avantages :

Gurucan has taken a completely new approach to how LMS is can and should be done today. They have taken a mobile-first approach which is clearly where the market is headed. They have taken away much of the thinking, planning, building, and headache of rolling out a robust solution for LMS users. They have taken the fundamentals of how a learning platform should work and added in many of the different solutions and features that today's community managers need to keep audiences engaged.

Inconvénients :

I think some of the design elements could use a little more polish. Needs Zoom integration for webinars that pull in recordings. Needs mobile app for administrators.

Asthetic appeal and functionality missing especially when reviewing content.

Commentaires : At the outset, I actually though that for a start-up like ours this could be a solution but with my experiences on the website and the support I got it would have been nightmarish to have purchased their services and not be able to take my business online because of the lack of support that is quick and effective. In order for a customer to see value, their specific needs have to be addressed not on a public forum but on a one-on-one 10-15 minute meeting telling them what is and what's not possible on your software. But this is probably just the beginning for team GURUCAN and they'll iron out these issues in due course of time. I wish them the best of luck and would be willing to spare time should someone want to get on a zoom call and talk to me :-)

Avantages :

A good thought through design for an e-learning app/website. Things like payment, feedback, user database with customizable and user-action triggered emails have been incorporated.

Inconvénients :

1. The content at times goes missing and with little support available, it's very disheartening to work on everything all over again - they seriously need to ask people to have a word back-up simultaneously. 2. The online school page is a great idea but there are very limited options to the look of that page. In the age where websites like wix.com give you fantastic options, we have font type, font size and variety limitations in rich text. 3. Even after providing the API keys for Open Bank which was the reason I got to know about Gurucan - nothing happens, it doesn't say "you're all set". So, a preview doesn't show you anything. again, very disappointing if you've gone the whole nine yards to link it to a payment gateway. 4. There is no provision for a timed and typed-out test. The 'workout' section gives you the functionality but wants you to upload a video. Do I seriously want to record a video of a single PPT slide with a question for 10 mins while the student attempts the test - this is what we call a 'jugaad' in India but it isn't very practical. 5. The course cover page and the transitioning between lessons isn't very smooth as compared to other video-hosting e-learning sites like futurelearn, canvas, etc. I mean the whole look and feel needs to be a lot better. 6. There's lack of a customizable user registration form - like a google form integration and many more things. There's no one on one customer interaction....and I'm not allowed to write any more....wow!!!

Very promising software

Avantages :

It is a very simple platform to use. It is well designed especially if you want to create a school or something more than a course. The function of the webinars is perhaps the reason that prompted me to purchase the product. It is a plus to be taken into consideration. The server is very fast and smooth, so far I haven't noticed any slowdowns. The app is well made and comfortable. It has the only flaw that courses cannot be purchased via the app. In the app you can only view the purchased courses. The extremely positive thing is that you can upload videos of several GB without problems and even longer than an hour. The rendering is slow, but then it flows smoother than on youtube. The assistance is truly excellent.

Inconvénients :

Let's go to the painful notes. You can have the white label site. But you don't have control over it. For example, company data cannot be added to the footer. They have created a very simple site suitable for anyone, but sadly there is no customization option. Even in forms and emails I would prefer more HTML controls. They still did a great job, but being able to change the footer and above all be able to use HTML more efficiently is something that would please me. It also has payment restrictions. You can use stripe or paypal. I solved it by creating a new page with details for other payment types. Unfortunately, I cannot write this message in the part where the user sees the payment form. They are not serious flaws, but if they improve in these areas it would be a perfect platform.

LOVE the wide space they gave to the content, more room for improvement

I love the wide space that is given to the content and the sidebar. It looks very good when you view it and gives complete focus to the content. It's very straightforward to set up.

Inconvénients :

This software holds a lot of promise, but the first thing I would love to see is scripts being allowed to be implemented. I'd love to insert in my own homework form, my own audio player, my own buttons, etc. I'm afraid I'm too picky for generic buttons or players, I want my course to look as seamless and beautiful as possible. The upload of the images seems to be a huge oversight, it expands across the whole page no matter what size it is initially, and I had to insert the HTML code of my images instead, hosted by my own site. The app isn't too useful for me, it's yet another app to download and I prefer that my clients just click a url and go. Additionally, the way the chapters and lessons are laid out could be better, I dislike the black overlay over the cover photos that is currently the unchangeable default, my course is colourful and I'd like to represent that in the cover photos.

Simple and superior performance

Commentaires : GuruCan has exactly what I need to be up and running my school in no time. I am only migrating my courses's media to GuruCan and its intuitive user interface let me do it in a snap. What I love the most about GuruCan is that it is robust (and yet simple to use) and it has many powerful functions that are only growing with the time. The project is good and solid and the support is unparalled.

Avantages :

A Platform That Will Thrive!

Commentaires : I decided to go ahead and purchase Gurucan because I just can't see passing the value of this offer up. Just to give some comparison, the most popular platforms for online learning out there are Thinkific, Teachable, and Podia. If you look at pricing, you will notice that Thinkific and Podia each charge $79/month and Teachable is $99/month. Gurucan is in it's early stages and already a very well thought out platform. It has almost everything you could ask for and even if you purchase the unlimited bandwidth, you will still only be paying $9/month. This is $70 less that the cheapest platform I mentioned above. This deal is too good in my opinion. Even better, the team at Gurucan have answered more than 300 questions and continue to answer every question that they receive on Appsumo. I joined the Telegram group and received a response to my question in less than 15 minutes. Support is top-notch and the platform is very good as it is. I can only imagine what it will be as updates continue to roll out. Thanks Gurucan. You are a true winner!

I like the pricing the most. Compared to most other platforms in the same sector, Gurucan is the most value fo my money.

Inconvénients :

The only thing is that the setup is not very intuitive. It takes a bit of computer knowledge in order to use. The best part is the support team is quick and responsive.

Basic setup without even needing tutorials!

Avantages :

I'm working on a joint venture teaching project with another business owner and I told her I would evaluate Gurucan as a platform we could use. The first day I gave it a try and set up a basic practice course on "How to Cook an Egg" just for fun. I showed it to my venture partner and she was astounded that I had done so much just playing around before even watching one tutorial. I liked how intuitive it was and especially excited about how it was built as a mobile app first rather than as an afterthought. My target audience of students would probably enjoy taking classes via mobile so this is appealing to me.

Inconvénients :

The only thing that makes me nervous about going "all in" with Gurucan is that they are new and I would feel more confident with a more established company. I really want them to stick around!

Better than anything I've seen lately

Commentaires : This is going to be my marketing email + online course platform + I'm recommending it to all my clients for their courses - some clients it will be their website - the articles feature is great.

Gurucan takes my courses on mobile

Commentaires : I was amazed how easy it is to publish my courses online with Gurucan. Almost zero technical learning curve and amazingly responsive support.

Avantages :

I love that my students can use a dedicated mobile app to access my courses.

Inconvénients :

I wish Gurucan had more integrations with other software I use and I would like the marketing automations to be more flexible with more triggers and actions.

Building toward something really great

Commentaires : My experience has overall been a positive one! My students like the user experience and I'm excited to be a newer user of the platform, and experience its growth in this market. There are missing elements, so whether this platform will make sense for my business long-term -- or for yours -- will depend on the specific features I need and where else I can get them.

Avantages :

My students really like the mobile app, and that was an important feature for me -- I know that optional online professional development will likely have a higher take-up rate if a platform is readily accessible via mobile devices. Support is responsive and the Facebook group is helpful too.

Inconvénients :

This is a newer platform, and there are issues and kinks to be worked out; some of them already have in the 3 months I've been a user. The main challenge for me has been learning the software. Some of the elements aren't intuitive and it's taken trial and error to figure things out. I think there's a lot of promise in this platform, but it's not delivering fully yet.

Of course it needs improvements, but I believe that the platform has everything a company needs to create content online with easy. The more incredible part is that fact that you can set everything and let it running automatically. So smooth!

GuruCan is very versatile and provide a reliable platform to create and sustain online courses with interactive content. What I enjoyed more was the ease of the process to create course and integration of the overall platform.

The UI feels quiet stiff, therefore I think that it could be more intuitive and responsive.

Very Promising LMS and Alternative to kajabi

Commentaires : I currently have an LMS based on WordPress plugins. I've had to stick together a whole slew of plugins to try to get things to work. When I first saw GuruCan, I was hesitant. I've been burned before on some Appsumo products so I was waiting to see a few reviews first. After I saw the reviews and experienced the support first-hand, I signed up immediately with the 3 code plan and I can say, I am NOT disappointed. The #1 thing for me is the App. It still isn't perfect, but it's better than anything we could create on our own. The transaction system isn't that intricate, but it's enough for most schools. What really reels me in is the ability to create free and paid offers and to be able to send emails or push notifications to users based on the offers they signed up for. There's also some good automation systems that rival my current email marketing provider.

Avantages :

Inconvénients :

Has limited offline app functionality Still some bugs here and there, but it seems they're ironing them out

Great Alternative To Were Press Platforms

Commentaires : Gurucan finally enabled me to get my course membership site up and running. There have been some bugs in their system, but none of my membership have complained about the setup or features of the platform. I hope to see Gurucan grow over the coming months.

Avantages :

When I found out about Gurucan, I learned that I could build my membership site outside of my WordPress site. The Gurucan platform includes modules for building courses, challenges, and quizzes, as well as setting up membership levels. It also includes a credit card gateway setup with Stipe, PayPal, and Apple Pay. Setting up my membership with Gurucan was a lot faster than using Membership Press, and it doesn't require a lot of steps to add content once the platform is set up. If you don’t have a website, you can use Gurucan to set up your entire membership, it enables you to create landing pages to sell your membership. I though have my sales pages on my main website, and they connect to my Gurucan checkout pages. After customers sign up, they log into the Gurucan platform that I set up. I'm glad I was able to get a lifetime membership to Gurucan, but I think I would subscribe to it if I didn't get that membership.

Inconvénients :

The user interface and the built-in email system for Gurucan could be improved, as well as the quiz feature. Gurucan is still pretty new, so I expect to see a lot more development over the coming months.

The new platform for my students

Commentaires : Overall, I am more than satisfied with the many possibilities it offers.

Avantages :

The product is very easy to use and configure, both administrator and student side.

Inconvénients :

Especially in the beginning, it happened that the software did not save the correctly loaded videos. In subsequent updates this has been fixed and made functional.

Made My Programme Delivery Simple

Commentaires : Its been great to use so far and hopefully the functionality will improve in the coming weeks and months to fix a few of the bugs.

Avantages :

Using Gurucan has allowed me to easily deliver my coaching programme to my clients with the exercise.in between sessions. It is really easy to use for 'non techy' people like me.

Inconvénients :

For me the platform would be improved if there was a greater ability to install more response boxes on the lessons where clients can answer and respond to the exercises. Many of my exercises require many different things to be responded to inside the exercises and the lessons only have one area for clients to respond which isn't ideal and results in many of my clients forgetting to respond or skipping over questions.

Really interesting option for Teachable and Thinkific

Commentaires : So far seems easy to use and super powerful platform. I am migrating from Thinkific which is a lot sexier but also costs a lot more. And does not offer the range of features and tools I am being offered so it is like an ENTIRE ecosystem to deal with students inside of the platform. Really promising!

Software has a lot to offer and a lot of features are promising like webinar, message users inside the platform, homework etc. Your e-learning course also works on Android and iOS cell phones so this is definitely a plus. The system does not seem super polished right now. There are some minor bugs here and there but the team seems to be responsive and polite. So it seems the product is super promising!

Time to be a guru

Commentaires : Gurucan has a video focused approach to teaching which is perfectly in sync with modern times as most people hate going through heaps of text. Inclusion of webinar is a unique idea and all this works perfect on the mobile app which functions like a charm. support is responsive and that is a real plus while setting up your courses. The generous limits (or can say unlimited) students is really appreciable

not a cons per se but i believe this is the same with most (if not all) LMS solutions. Although both paypal and stripe are options, we can only connect one with the account and not different gateway options for different countries / students

This is the perfect all-in-one platform to create online courses i found so far. Besides having s a ton of features that you just don't find in other services. 1. This probably is the only only course tool out that stands out in every aspect of online courses 2. The ability to send auto geerated emails, User management in the app, Mobile app with easy login is outstanding

Inconvénients :

Would be better if this app has additional payment features (Indian) like Gpay etc...coz most of the people don't hold cards.

Well thought out and extensive LMS

Avantages :

Gurucan is a very fast and polished system for selling online courses. I like the Stripe integration and quiz function. The user interface is nice and pretty easy to use. It has a lot of neat features like challenges and reporting. It has mobile apps for both Android and iPhone.

Inconvénients :

A self attendance system that allows student to mark their attendance would be really helpful for live classes. Custom mobile app seems quite expensive.

An Impressive Online Course Creation Platform

Commentaires : Overall Gurucan is a great online course creation tool that I highly recommend. I really think with the improvements suggested and implemented, it will be a real winner!

I'm really impressed at all of the features Gurucan has built in to one platform. They have online course creation, bundles, email marketing and more! The team is very responsive with responding to support enquiries and they are open to receiving feedback on how they can improve their platform. I would recommend them to anyone looking to start selling an online course.

Inconvénients :

The biggest con would have to be the layout while you're inside a course. There isn't a list of each lesson on the side of the screen to show you all of the lessons in the course. You're only able to click next lesson but you can't go back to the previous lesson - it would be better if you could mark the lesson as completed. And there isn't a progress bar to show you how much progress you've made inside the course.

LMS Mobile App - Excited!

Avantages :

I recently purchased Gurucan and I'm super excited. I recently took a 7 week course through another organization that was all mobile app based with daily micro-lessons. It was an excellent way to learn in small chunks. I'm super excited to use this same approach with my content - and give my clients the ability to use the mobile and/or web app. Gurucan has a good LMS foundation now. With what the leadership has planned for its roadmap, there is bright future ahead.

Inconvénients :

This is newer software. As such it has some rough edges in place. Fortunately, the rough edges for me right now are not in places that will cause issues. And by the time I will need them, the product roadmap has them forecast to be addressed.

Best value for entrepreneurs

Avantages :

Trying to find the best course software to be frustrating, time consuming and also very expensive. That’s why am excited about guru can. It offers features at an affordable price so anybody can download it and get started right away chasing after their dreams of entrepreneurship and teaching.

Inconvénients :

This is hardly a con, but there might be almost too many features. Sometimes we can get analysis paralysis when we have too many options. Overall though, it’s definitely a small con versus all the value you get.

Commentaires : I have a great experience with Gurucan. It has mobile first approach, hence the way they designed their platform is a little different from other platforms (I have been using Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, New Zenler), but it really makes a lot of sense.

Avantages :

I love how intuitive it is for both course creators and learners. The possibility to create courses and membership in one tool is amazing. They have some unique features, such as Challenges and Offers - that open a lot of opportunities for course and membership site creation.

Inconvénients :

Their footer has some adverts for Visa and Master Card, and point to the download link of their mobile app, which makes this tool not 100% white label. I hope they will have a solution for that soon.
