BuildOps Review from Dane Electric.
Commentaires : It took a bit to get our previous system transitioned over but since then - we have been very pleased. Our biggest hesitation was how our field guys would feel about the change. They were apprehensive at first but after a few weeks they have appreciated the change and are excited with how new things keep coming out. It seems to get better and better the more you educate yourself with the depth of the system.
Avantages :
The ease of use in all aspects is what drew us to their system. They have covered all the bases when it comes to a complete dispatching, project managing, quoting, customer retention, and invoice system.
Inconvénients :
We have yet to find something that we are not happy with or that we are not able to get the support we need to get it to work for us.

Was promised the world by the salesman and let down
Commentaires : It seems that the software needs a few more years of development to be branded as a premium software, there are many bugs and the software's function and work flow is not congruent throughout.
Avantages :
Having the schedule connect directly to jobs works well, seeing visit information for the techs in the field.
Inconvénients :
There is a lot of information however it is not always easy to find or view in a useful manner. It seems like there are many ways to customize the software however few of the customizations are ways that we need it to be.

BuildOps revolutionized our business
Avantages :
BuildOps is extremely configurable - features can be turned on and off at the company level or the user level to obtain the optimal system and workflow both for the organization and each person within the organization. The support from BuildOps to help us set everything up initially and make changes as we need them has been phenomenal.
Inconvénients :
The cost of BuildOps was significantly higher than our previous field management software provider, and that initially turned us off, but it has turned out to be a terrific investment with an excellent ROI.
BuildOps Partnership
Commentaires : My overall experience with the platform and employees at BuildOps has been a game changer for our company. As our volume of work has increased, we have not had to increase manpower. After implementation, we were actually able to decrease the amount of administrative staff on site thanks to the increase in efficiencies and with the work volume increasing, we have been able to maintain the reduced workforce as a cost savings to the bottom line.
Avantages :
To us, the best part of BuildOps is the fluidity of information across the entire platform. Information can be entered and will update immediately to our field techs who access the platform using iPads. This ensures the information provided is the most up to date and accurate. The Job Reporting feature ensures we are able to accurately bill out jobs within 24 hours of completing the job.
Inconvénients :
The enhancement that I am looking forward to most is the Purchase Requisition feature inside the purchasing module. This will help our purchasing department to ensure everything is ordered on a tech's order sheet. The current process we are using is time consuming and leaves the option for errors in data entry. Very much looking forward to this enhancement so our purchasing department can be streamlined the way BuildOps has solved issues throughout other aspects of the company.
Great product that has completely digitized our office and streamlined our business
Commentaires : Very positive. Especially the customer service! Any issue I have is responded to immediately and I am communicated too during the entire process so I know the BuildOps team is working diligently to fix it.
Avantages :
Filters. I love being able to narrow my searches until I am looking at just what I want. For example, My bosses wanted to see if there were any jobs that got approved but where never assigned to a job or otherwise acted on. The idea being maybe a customer said "yes please do this work" and it just fell through the cracks. With 10 different filters I was able to narrow down all the quotes we have in our system to just a handful that met the requirements and from there it was easy to find out the story behind each one and whether it needed to be followed up on or cancelled. Big time saver and made me look like a genius.
Inconvénients :
As a dispatcher, from the dispatch board I should be able to manually manipulate the job boxes even after the tech starts the job. The way I think the logic should work is this: Tech has their day populated by the dispatcher with 3 jobs A B C. Maybe he gets to all three or maybe he only gets to the first two or maybe job D comes in as an emergency and takes priority over jobs B and C. If I initially booked job A as a four hour job but he did it in three hours I want to be able to make that jobs box three hours on my dispatch board. It looks clunky and doesn't tell you good information at a glance if the job box size stays to what you originally dispatched it as. With plumbing 9 out of 10 jobs we have NO idea how long the tech will take. He might have an all day job that he gets dispatched too and it turns out one of the tenants that needs to provide acccess for a leak investigation up and forgot we were coming and went to work. So now this job is cancelled and needs to be rescheduled and instead of being an all day job the tech was only traveling/working form like 8-9:45am... I should be able to snap the job box back to 9:45am when right now it stays stuck at 4pm. When I used to dispatch, there was the time the technician recorded, the time I as the dispatcher recorded, and upon reviewing those two times the boss then bills the customer. Usually they are in sync but every so often there could be a disparity in which case maybe the boss needs to ask why the tech put 2 hours and the dispatcher says its an hour and a half. I have strong feelings as a dispatcher that at the end of the day I want my board to look exactly like how I think it should be with each job box fit into the time that I think it should be. 90% of the time it will match closely with what my tech put as well. And that other 10% well then we can see, maybe they forgot to start working at the right time or maybe they misread the clock ect...

Great experience from the Beginning
Commentaires : Changing operating systems is never easy. However, when you pick the right partner, even during some implementation struggles, we worked together as a team and had a great experience. Just solid people to wortk with.
Avantages :
We were one of the first client to partner with Build Ops. Their employees and support team have become part of our family. We are true partners. Having a very transparent relationship allows us to push each other to become better every day.
Inconvénients :
PMA module at the beginning. However, year 2 they made great progress and continue to improve.
BuildOps Continues to Impress!
Commentaires : Transitioning to BuildOps was the best decision for our company. They take the time to get to know their customers. We are paying for a product but it is more than that. They have built relationships with our staff and continue to improve the functionality.
Avantages :
Hands down, the BuildOps support team; from our account manager to the IT support team. They are always quick to respond and we are always made to feel we are the most important person. Our previous software company took days to respond if at all, and when suggestions were made, we were simply told no. BuildOps has listened to us and our wants/needs and we have seen those implemented by them.
Inconvénients :
BuildOps is more expensive than our previous software by 75%
Happy to be using BuildOpsQ
Commentaires : My overall experience has been positive. They have a dedicated customer service team that offers continuous support and extensive training resources.
Avantages :
BuildOps has simplified our entire workflow.
Inconvénients :
The service agreement function needs improvement.
Solid System for a New Hire except for the Tutorial AI Narrator
Commentaires : Overall positive - but like any CRM takes some getting used to. As someone new to the construction industry I’d say it’s been a solid system so far.
Avantages :
The customer service. I had a question and the response from the representative was honest and personable. The solution was clear, concise, and exactly snag what was needed.
Inconvénients :
The Narrator to tutorials. I would strongly recommend hiring someone from voice123 or voicebunny to do the voice over work. AI can do a lot but it can’t do narration. The tutorial is for new hires one of the 1st and regular voices they hear. It’d be a win/win

Build-Ops Impressed me from the beginning, then it failed miserably.
Commentaires : Full Disclosure: After posting this review, Build-ops contacted me. There is a new management team and they apologized for our experience and immediately refunded the original deposit from May 2022. Overall I was very disappointed after spending 4 months searching for the "right" software then another 4 weeks trying to implement build-ops. Ultimately we walked away and never went live with the software. The constant need for workarounds of their software when I was "sold" on the idea of CUSTOMIZATION. This software was designed for a very specific industry and a very specific client and I would guess that company did not purchase it and the developer is marketing it as a customizable service software solution. Maybe there are companies that are fine with very expensive non customizable software. But when your quote template look like it came from a high school business class and the customer CANNOT modify it, what are we actually paying for? There are no custom forms, its a single column list of text, checkboxes etcc..So you would think after expressing all this the implementation manager would get some help.. no, they let him squirm and struggle.. I'm glad we walked away,
Avantages :
The software with everything including a high price tag!? Build op certainly is powerful enough to propel a 5 person company to a 500 person company with ease. Boatloads of configurable options, custom forms and reports with scheduling options to directly convert results to a work order. The software lets you use a global search box, has equipment/asset tracking and OCR which may or may not work for you. The heart of this software is the customer "service agreement" portal, setting up recurring services, tracking estimates, PO's and work orders, utilizing the "price book" and handling renewal associated with the agreement
Inconvénients :
Customer facility/site cannot be renamed without losing their history. Quote template is NOT customizable. Reporting is fancy pie charts and bar graphs with useless information. Has no real data, like how many customer have not performed a service in the last 12 months??The mobile app is so limited in its functionality, unless you like a one and done type jobs. Even an admin user has about 5 options for usage. Scheduling jobs isis cumbersome with many steps that cannot be undone if accidently categorized. The software REQUIRES a technician is assigned to anything that goes on the schedule. I have customers that schedule their services for the entire year, So in January I need to assign a tech to a job 12 months away. This makes no sense. Now you can create a job and mark it to be completed without assigning a tech, but it will never show on the calendar, it shows in a "job box" with all the other 500 things I need to do every day. The quote template CANNOT be customized. The software does not utilize a global quote template, however it can be copied/cloned and renamed with the new customer. So every quote you make needs to be made from scratch. Forms are generic and cannot be modified. During implementation we had to use constant workarounds to get the software to function.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We value our customers, past & present, and work hard to continually improve the customer experience. We appreciate the opportunity to make things right by refunding your deposit and updating the product features mentioned in your review. Bottom line, we apologize for the frustration during the implementation process. Customization was a crucial aspect for you and we fell short of your expectations. Your feedback regarding the quote template and forms has been flagged, and we will absolutely improve both features. We hear you when it comes to reporting, mobile app, and job scheduling. We're happy to report that many of these requests have been addressed in our weekly feature releases and it won't stop there. Nonetheless, your review is a reminder to remain committed to delivering a truly exceptional experience. We hope you find a great software that fits your needs. And in the future, we would love a shot at earning back your business.
Excellent Operations Management
Commentaires : The greatest benefit with BuildOps has been the simplicity with which our team can now access the same information, streamlining and enhancing the entire process from quote to job and invoice to payment.
Avantages :
BuildOps makes the setup of customers and properties quick and easy, and it's fluid - I can make changes or corrections as needed for the most accurate information. The system is intuitive and easy to use, and I lvoe the convenience of the web-based platform when traveling.
Inconvénients :
I like the flexibility and options of the Service Agreement module, and BuildOps' development team is great about taking comments and suggestions into consideration. They've implemented a number of enhancements over the last year, but there is some room for improvement in renewal of agreements and portability of documents.

After 2 other Applications "We love BO"
Commentaires : Customer notification of when we are on our way and direct link for payment from invoice and quotes (specifically, deposits for quotes)
Avantages :
Ability to have more than one technician or helper on a work order.
Inconvénients :
Billing customers and allowing them to pay online as opposed to calling the office for assistance. We are 75% commercial, and that 25% residential can sometimes be a problem, but they (BO) is working on fixing this.

Workflows and Access to Information
Commentaires : As a company that is growing, we needed to establish processes that would take us to the next level. BuildOps from the beginning was extremely helpful in helping us evaluate and think about how we would handle those processes. Once we launched it was amazing to see how helpful it was for everyone in our office to have instant access to the information.
Avantages :
Even though we have only been using BuildOps a relatively short period of time, it has already significantly improved our workflows and access to information on our jobs and projects. The improved workflow has helped our profit margins and been a huge help in being able to assist our clients more effectively.
Inconvénients :
It is difficult to access vendor information and for very large quotes BuildOps is more cumbersome.
New Customer
Commentaires : It has been great. Customer service is quick to respond and very helpful in getting problems resolved during the implementation.
Avantages :
The amount of information it houses. THe ability to run a report on almost anything. This wild be a huge benefit in the future one the implementation is complete.
Inconvénients :
Figuring out how to maneuver around the reports. There is so much information it takes awhile to create the views needed.
User friendly/great work flow for commercial contractors
Commentaires : I was hesitant first as BuildOps is a newer software out there, so I tried a different software first, did not work for us. It was residential based and workflows seemed more difficult than current work flows. I revisited BuildOps, made the move, and have never looked back. Customer service/support/continued improvements and features are awesome. They listen and are continuing to prioritize and add features. The project side is a new feature since we started and WIP reporting is made that much easier.
Avantages :
The most impactful features of BuildOps, ease of use. Workflow works for us. Utilizing different job views based on status. Job costing feature to invoicing a plus. Work order/job report separate from invoice. Ability to toggle on/off what is needed on job report. The WIP reporting for projects, amazing, plus for me! Reporting from customer to location down to asset. Customized reporting.
Inconvénients :
There is no perfect software out there, but this software comes close to meeting most of our needs based on the pain points prior to. There will be a glitch from time to time where the Tech needs to make sure they have the newest version of the app or may have to install/reinstall app. Limitations on totally customizing your invoice look. However, with that said, none of these are deal breakers. And with a few limitations here and there, they are continuing to refine and add improvements.
BuildOps has completely transformed our business to being incredibly efficient
Commentaires : Buildops has literally transformed our business in so many ways it is really mind boggling. I didn’t even realize that their was this much opportunity out there. Our company had 5 separate softwares and switching over to Buildops has brought it all under a single roof and dramatically increased efficiency and output. Our folks out in the field and in the back office can share information seamlessly which eliminates the biggest challenge of a service business like ours. Our service to our customers is infinitely better than before because we all the information right at our fingertips and customers get instant info on services performed with real time notifications. The offline multiple phone and video upload is a massive time saver and our techs love using the app. Being built on current tech, this company is the future. The quotes piece is world class and they even have OCR built in so technicians can take a photo and it automatically populates make, model and serial number into the app. Techs love it, our customers love it, and the team is incredibly helpful 24/7.
Avantages :
The best part is its super easy to use and so well thought out that it takes most of our folks just a few hours before they get comfortable with the basics. Its powerful under the hood but easy to navigate. We have gone paperless and having everything talk to the each other has reduced our admin burden enormously. Our revenues are up with the photos/videos and quotes that make the entire process seamless.
Inconvénients :
We haven’t had any negative experiences with this software. It’s a real godsend.
Build Ops- Hands down the best product for subcontractor teams!!
Commentaires : This is literally my fourth time around with some type of field service platform and I almost gave up. I just didn't think that it existed. I am beyond satisfied with BuildOps. Its easy and and most important, it is clear. The actual implementation was painless and I loved working with the team. having spent time in the trenches and having contractors on the team made all the difference. They knew the business inside and out and that made the software so much more intuitive. Other software providers just don't have the Contractor experience on the table. The weekly view and ability to schedule months out is revolutionary for us. Regular updates and amazing updates keep things moving in exactly the right direction. If you want well structured software, do yourself a favor, and take a hard look at BuildOps.
Avantages :
Super simple and easy to navigate around. The buttons and color scheme make it hard to mess up- even for non tech guys like the guys I have in the field and office. Schedule and planning in advance are huge. The Dispatch board is hands down the best dispatch board around. Compare their dispatch board to any other software and you will see its light years ahead of the game with the multiple techs and expanded view. The recurring services is massive and OCR is truly new age tech. My techs love the notes and asset history info on every job and the ability to see everything about every job and its past history with the click of a button. the time tracking functionality is the best native experience for an integrated time tracking solution I have seen out there and the photo video ability to do 10 of them or more at a time and still keep moving on the jobs blows every one else out of the water. Just a really seamless suite of amazing features that all make things so much easier and more importantly make us more profitable.
Inconvénients :
The team is second to none and I am happy with everything that they have communicated and delivered.
BuildOps makes worklife so much better!
Commentaires : From the start of learning BuildOps our team was trained in person and over the phone for weeks/months after. The training is wonderful. When ever we needed help trainers took time to show us step by step how to work the system or if there were any issues they were just a phone call away.
Avantages :
BuildOps is a very easy product to use. I like being able to pull reports when needed for budgets. The quote to job to visits has a nice flow. The system allows us to go back in forth within each very easily. Time management to each job is great. At any time we can pull a job to see which crew members and how much time was spent on that job. Job costing is very clear as well.
Inconvénients :
I want to be able to change the colors to indicate different types or jobs/workorders. Same with the drop down from the jobs tab. It would be easier to see looking for certain types of jobs/workorders.
It took a lot to get where we are
Commentaires : After our initial launch, we've been very satisfied with the work BuildOps has done to create a better, stronger relationship. They created an entire relaunch for our company, really gave us a lot of their time to make us feel like we were apart of their family. We love that the [sensitive content hidden] and top executives are the ones who help solve problems and make themselves known.
Avantages :
As a company, we really like that everything was together. I have everything about the jobs that makes it easier to communicate to the customer and technicians.
Inconvénients :
We had an awful time with implementations. We didn't have a great relationship with our initial support person. We struggled getting our voices heard and struggled getting the customization done. It was an awful first impression for the money we spent.
Review of the Year

PVFP Review
Commentaires : We are very happy with the support we receive from the BuildOps staff. They have have been extremely helpful.
Avantages :
I like the one stop shop convenience. I also like that I am able to bill immediately after a task is completed and not have to wait for the forms to make it to the office.
Inconvénients :
The only con I have is that our waivers are not fillable from invoicing.
BuildOps Must Have
Commentaires : My overall experience has been great. Anytime there has been a problem the customer service has been quick to help fix the problem. Training videos have help us to train new employees. If would like for additional reporting that fits our business they will make us that report. Just great a business to work with.
Avantages :
Its All-In-One Management software for our company. The data it provides is crucial to our business. Few clicks of a button and I can have the information I need to know to make decisions for our business. Software is easy to work out of. Not very difficult at all to use.
Inconvénients :
I don't really have anything I don't like about the BuildOps. Its exactly what our business needs.
HVAC Company BuildOps Review
Commentaires : Overall, we love BuildOps . There are a few little quirks and kinks that we are still trying to work around/figure out, but as a whole, this software has made our day to day much easier!!
Avantages :
We love the project management side of BuildOps! It really puts all of the information that you need into one central location. Finding PO's and AIA documents is much easier than before! We also love the ease of use of the software to generate pay applications.
Inconvénients :
The time tracking feature is one that we have not used at all. It is very complicated, and I don't feel as if we had enough "Onboarding" to fully appreciate this feature. We have also had a few issues with incorrect amounts being generated on Pay Applications; however, the engineering team is currently trying to determine the root of that issue.
Build Ops
Avantages :
I love that everything is easy to find and I can track everything in one place. We are a small but busy department within a larger company and we have a lot more service agreements than tour other departments. With build Ops we are able to keep all our documentation, photos, reports and, other important information on one system. NO MORE MESSY PAPER PILES or LOST HOURS!!!! Everyone we have worked with from Build Ops is very knowligable about Build Ops and they are always eager to help.
Inconvénients :
At first when we started using build ops I found it hard to remember the steps that were needed to add jobs etc. and service agreements but I had a great team to help me figure out what steps I need to complete what I was working on. If for some reason I am unable to get a hold of one of our Build Ops team members I can always look back on our sessions and find the recordings about specific topics that we had went over and relearn the steps by myself. They provide you with more than enough resources if you need help or are stuck trying to figure out how to do something.
