Great product, works great, easy to navigate- almost too simple.
Commentaires : I met the [sensitive content hidden] of Buildbook at IBS and was very impressed with him and with the program he helped create. Overall very positive. Customer service is great and it works!
Avantages :
I love the ease of use for my employees and clients. Very positive feedback from clients, employees and my office manager. They can navigate the program much easier than CoCon/Buildbook. This is huge, I was getting negative feedback from clients about CoCon's complexity. Buildbook is very very simple to navigate and the app works great, very easy to see what we need.
Inconvénients :
On the back end, I would love just more customization, options, and abilities to see more information. Seeing job profitability and syncing w/ Quickbooks to see actuals vs. quoted would be helpful. We don't have time or capacity to enter each line item cost so we are missing that information. It just almost seems too simple and not enough complexity on the back end. I want more options w/ quotes and w/ the Gannt chart creation. Having pictures and files transfer from "opportunity" to "projects" would be very very helpful! Please make this change! I'm concerned if Buildbook will be able to grow with my business. As I grow my business I want to be sure Buildbook grows with us and brings more functionality to the back end. Don't change the client facing side, just the backend!
Great Market Fit, But Need to Counter-Balance Cost-Plus Construction
Commentaires : I enjoy it as a tool for promoting a greater customer experience. I don't know how much I would say that it helps me run my construction business at this point.
Avantages :
The market distinctive for my business is this software and my design process. This program achieves my goal of promoting high-level visibility between me and the client while allowing me to have a project management system that is efficient and clean.
Inconvénients :
As mentioned before, the product feels like it's been built so heavily around the customer experience that it's weak on the project execution features. More specifically the financial management and scheduling side of the project. In regards to the former, the financial management system is almost entirely communicative. But it doesn't actually serve me in any significant ways of managing my financials. The scheduling system is clunky. I don't know if this is a feature but I hope that you guys will allow for a microsoft project integration as I will have to explore other products to schedule construction as Buildbook's system takes way too long.

Commentaires : Good. The people seem great. I do believe they will work the issues and help to create product that is in tune with the current market needs.

When I first looked into it I was happy to have a product that was easy for tracking leads and providing a project tool for our employees
Inconvénients :
The inability to turn a won lead into a project. It’s redundant to have to take the notes from the lead and redo them once a project is won.
Just what we needed!
Commentaires : The biggest problem we have had with our company is always not knowing what jobs are going on and what are we doing such days. BuildBook has helped utilize their features to make sure everyone is aware and on the same page!
Avantages :
I love the tasks functions and the start and end dates you can implement. This helps show the entire team what needs to be done and how much time we have to do the scope.
Inconvénients :
I would like to see more financial functions. Such as invoicing and AR reports

The price and value for money is the best I've seen. The user experience is clean, simple and easy to navigate.

There are a lot of features lacking and some feel like very obvious oversights such as not being able to see profit margin % from a project's financials.

Build Book vs the others
Commentaires : Build Book is helping us to stay organized so everyone has access to the information they need at the time they need it.
Avantages :
Build Book works great and we've already seen it help our business in keeping us on task so that the most important things get done on time and not fall through the cracks. I like Build Book's pricing and ease of use most of all.
Inconvénients :
I wish there was employee time tracking and a way for customers to pay through Build Book. That would help a lot in making double entries in both Build Book and Quick Books. I know there will always be some double entry, but this would eliminate over half of it.
Buildbook is the Answer
Commentaires : Buildbook helped me achieve what I was looking for, in that I was using several different softwares and wanted to consolidate them into one. I get that with Buildbook, and it makes it easy to simultaneously setup task management and scheduling.
Avantages :
The interface is extremely fluid and natural to use. The potential for what Buildbook has to offer is very high.
Inconvénients :
I would like it if they offered a desktop native app vs strictly a browser based option.

Simplicity!!! BuildBook is very simple to use. It is a good project management software for small builders and remodelers. Very user friendly.

I love how BuildBook continues to make this product better. Many updates address the needs of many. Anytime I have had a question or comment they have always been there to answer and/or listen.
Intuitive Software That We Have Been Needing
Commentaires : Overall very positive experience. Very friendly, responsive, and knowledgeable staff. We have really enjoyed switching to BuildBook.
Avantages :
Easy to learn and use. Free onboarding sessions with handy reviewable transcripts. Estimate templates, easily use past jobs as a template for new ones, partial access for subs, cost book, and contact lists.
Inconvénients :
It has some areas that are not customizable e.g. the categories to list potential projects under. We can work within it well enough but it would be nice to change the titles to fit our company's jargon.

Great product and great people
Commentaires : My overall experience with BuildBook has been dreamy. Seriously. When tasked to "find us a software", I tried the big names first. I think those actually made me appreciate BuildBook more. I don't need their frills and extras. I just need something the folks in the field can find information on and move on with their days. And the best part is that people respond to me when I email with a question, concern or even suggestion. Like I said, dreamy!
Avantages :
I love that we, as users, are listened to and even have a hand in growing the product. It's the next best thing to building from scratch. BuildBook is clean, not complicated, attractive and functional. It doesn't have a bunch of stuff I'm paying for but don't actually use!
Inconvénients :
I wish I had found BuildBook sooner! It would have saved money and headache trying to decipher more complicated systems. I don't need complicated; I just need functional. Estimating can't come soon enough though!
Great Product
Commentaires : The idea to have all communications flow into one app is simple, yet very efficient. In collaboration with our processes that were in already in place, the implementation of BuildBook has increased our productivity, which means increased our bottom line. All while satisfying the customer with no added expenses directed toward them.
Avantages :
Given multiple features to disperse to our internal team and our clients, BuildBook has proven to be well worth the investment. We have had nothing but positive feedback from our clients and the designers that we work with. They love the daily update posts that we require, which describes the work that was done that day and what is on tap for the next. The option to embed photos into your posts have made change orders easier to document and gain acceptance. The documents tab has all of the necessary information that the crews in the field need to efficiently complete the project.
Inconvénients :
There are no dire needs throughout the platform. The only suggestion would be have a spreadsheet option in the documents tab that would allow all parties, or selected few, to edit right there in BuildBook. I have noticed that the older clients are not as willing or able to adapt to the learning curve of the app.

Software that bridges the gaps
Commentaires : The customer service is phenomenal, they are always asking me what features they can implement to make BuildBook better suit managing the company.
Avantages :
BuildBook has a very easy interface that is easily used by my team. They have everything you need in 1 organized location with many options to improve efficiency on the management side of the business.
Inconvénients :
The schedule display could be improved when using it on a cell phone. Would like to see a calendar view of how the current and scheduled jobs fit together, but I believe that is being discussed.
A great tool for custom home builders
Commentaires : We are really enjoying this software and plan to use more of the features as we get more comfortable with it. It's a great tool in managing our workload.
Avantages :
We love having the capability of keeping everyone in touch with every aspect of the job, from copies of permits, septic designs, specifications and drawings, to change orders and progress.
Inconvénients :
It's sometimes difficult getting the "old school" subs to want to download an app, and then taking the time to train them can be an issue. Also everyone needs to be disciplined to use it which is sometimes a struggle when things get extremely busy.
BuildBook Review
Commentaires : BuildBook’s customer service has been outstanding. They’ve been very accessible and responsive to my questions. They truly understand the construction business. I am really looking forward to see what they develop next!
Avantages :
I really like that most of my communication with clients is now handled through BuildBook. I use it for anything I can think of-product selection, jobsite photo updates, sharing of ideas, checklists...there’s so many possibilities. I use it for prospective clients during the sales process, too. And now that there are separate work rooms within each project, I’m able to share sensitive information with my subcontractors.
Inconvénients :
I met some resistance from my subcontractors when I started using BuildBook. I’ve tried to make it clear that this is StrongTower Woodworks’ method of communication. Some have adapted well, others haven’t. I can’t say that this is really a BuildBook problem, though.
A great idea that has a few kinks
Commentaires : A solid "B-" with the potential to be an "A" experience with some UX work and some platform thought. Keep working on it, because I think it could be a really great app/tool!
Avantages :
Terrific way for homeowners and contractors to share information on projects, ask questions and generally collect all documents, photos, and all documents in one place, taking it out of email and creating a shared space to use throughout the project.
Inconvénients :
It feels like there are still some bugs to work out.... - can't access it on my computer at work (only though my phone (Android) and iPad) - logs me out all the time forcing me to enter my email and password every time I access the app - sometimes couldn't see videos on my Android phone, but could see them on my iPad - the UX is a bit clunky, taking me multiple clicks to get to new additions or comments

I like the management aspect, scheduling. The estimate is also easy to use. I like it so far. There is a lot of features I'm not using right now so still have a lot to learn

I don't like that when you add the payment schedule it changes the order of how you input it. I also which it would be a way to do invoicing directly but I heard it's coming.
First month review
Commentaires : This has been a very easy process to set up our schedules and processed. We love it so far and so do our installers and clines.
Avantages :
The option to communicate with the client and the team.
Inconvénients :
that when you set up a template and set the number of days needed for a phase that it uses weekends in the days. Since we don't work weekend we have to adjust the days .. makes is a little hard to schedule.
It’s all about the details
Commentaires : Overall I like the software it makes it easy to track progress

Overall what I like most is the ability to log details and the that everyone on the team can review those details daily
Inconvénients :
The only thing that I do not like about the software is about 80% of the time it takes several minutes or even hours to upload and sometimes it will just drop out and not upload anything at all and I will have to reload pictures and details multiple times

After diving into soft ware there is some small things I would suggest but they are already working on them!
