Tried the rest...this is the best! Look no further

Commentaires : Everything about Hostfully shows a pattern of superior thought and workmanship. The Hostfully team members I have come in contact with have all showed me a unique desire to deliver a robust solution to the day to day struggles I deal with as a property manager. I have used 3 other "top rated" alternative property management solutions and they all fall flat and short. When I say I recommend "them"...Hostfully...I say that because you are not just getting software...you are getting a team dedicated to making their customers user experience a successful one! They understand their clients success (us) means their success. I am happily staying with this company because nobody else has come close to solving my challenges as they are currently doing.

Avantages :

Simple setup...really nice GUI...easy to navigate...no unnecessary clicks and extremely intuitive. The calendar is fabulous...you know where your bookings are coming from...it's easy to make contact with guests (due to the new inbox feature)...easy to make direct bookings...take payments...make changes...issue refunds...schedule housekeeping...I mean the team at Hostfully has thought of virtually everything to make your life easier. Not to mention distribution, channel management...all this is supposed to be cumbersome...not so anymore. My revenues have increased immensely not just as a direct result of better channel integration but for the simple fact that I have so much more free time! Free time equals more marketing, etc. The productivity that this software achieves must be worth checking out. Oh...and the support! ...due to the thoughtful design of the platform I find myself figuring things out on my own....however when you are in a bind...it seems the support is always there. Hostfully's support apparatus is easily twice as fast as the other platforms I have used. It's not even close frankly. In fact, I left another platform because of this very support problem that Hostfully has solved. Lastly, let's not forget value...the price. I think their pricing plans are competitive and more than reasonable when you think about how many problems they have solved.

Inconvénients :

While it's not a deal breaker...an app would be nice. Using alternative property management solutions, they all had "apps". But what's the point of an app whey they are broken, clunky and lacking in every way imaginable? That describes the "competitors" mobile offerings. Believe me I tried them...for years...each! Hostfully does not have an app...but their site is completely "mobile friendly". Initially I was concerned but it turns out I couldn't have been more wrong. I would rather have a mobile friendly site that achieves ALL than an app that claims to have all, most...or some...yet has nothing of real value. Hostfully's site is SUPER EASY on your mobile device. Don't worry about it! I'm extremely mobile and if it was a pain...I would have moved on by now...and I'm not...no way.

Avantages :

The customer service is good. They respond relatively quickly and typically solve the issues. The integrations are good. However, we've recently had issues with the Lynx integration so it seems like there's been some negative changes.

Inconvénients :

The app is painfully simple. Also, we cannot edit existing templates, simply delete them. Also, there are some bugs that have been an issue since day 1 - such as jobs being assigned to someone, even though we don't have that selected as an option and never have. Also, we don't get the notification bubble on our iPhone if we've received a notification on Hostfully (our settings are updated to receive these). Overall, there are bugs, but the app is easy enough to use so we will keep using Hostfully in the meantime.

Too Many Bugs

Commentaires : There is great potential with this product if they would ever fix it and it could do what they say that it is capable of doing. They have a user forum for users to suggest improvements for upgrades and it is a joke in my eyes when they can't get the bugs out of the current product. How can they be asking for suggestions when the current product won't work?

Avantages :

The calendar syncs between Airbnb and VRBO, which are the only two platforms we use right now. It is the only thing that works. The calendar is accurate. And, their support team is responsive because I spend 50% of my day messaging them about bugs in the system.

Inconvénients :

Bugs. It is so difficult to manage anything about the reservation - communicating with the guest (you can't get messages into the platform from VRBO; cohosts can't communicate via Airbnb); you can't modify rates or add on additional nights w/out rates changing from dates already paid for; messages don't come through; etc. You double space after the end of a sentence and it sends &nspc after each period; It doesn't have a sort system to show you outstanding balances or pending transactions so you don't know who to follow up with; and there are problems every single day trying to do basic things that the system will not do. The answer is "we are forwarding to our higher tier department". You never hear back.

, after that we’ve lost touch with any one contact, the help button is responsive but almost never solves a problem. They’re very nice, but refer owners/managers to the platforms directly.

Avantages :

The onboarding specialist [sensitive content hidden] , after [sensitive content hidden] unexpected departure from Hostfully, we never connected with anyone else. She was a huge asset and we are so sorry she’s gone!

Inconvénients :

Not easy to get answers about platform issues that arise. I thought Hostfully would have had their own customer service connections through the platforms to help maneuver issues/problems resolve issues that occurred with property managers specifically! Virtually impossible to communicate with the platforms about management issues.

There isn't much because if we have an issue or something we would like for them to add they have been great about helping us with it.

Not what it used to be

Commentaires : We have been using Hostfully for a over a year. Overnight they changed the calender view and now it is very difficult to navigate and see dates. If you have more than 25 properties then you will definitely be lost, the mobile browser does not even load more than 25 properties. Have raised this issue and talked to management on a video call and they accepted the problems and said they will do something about it, now they just ignore all emails.Don't take the annual plan, there are too many issues and nobody there to listen, and if you ask for your money back you will only get silence. Here are some more issues:- Direct booking confirmation number are very long over 20 characters which makes no sense.- Booking.com API is outdated, new amenities on extranet will not be sycned. Have complained about this but nothing being done.- App is very limited - Customer support says 24/7, but they can take upto 3 hours to reply also.- The product is getting worse and they are increasing prices.- Most of the times when you have an issue you will be given an article to solve the problem, they will not do anything for you, same with setup.- If you have an issue and the rep does not have the solution, the simple solution they have is to say that "higher tier are working on it" no matter how many times you follow up that is the response and their way out of not doing anything.- If you use VRBO then you must use USD currency for all your properties.

Avantages :

Fast to set up if you have previous experience and user friendly

Inconvénients :

Buggy calender, no proper reservation numbers, poor customer support

Inconvénients :

Email templates took me the longest - woudl love to see more of a professional look some of the automatic templates that I don't use often go out and look way different than my emails - so more development there. A lot of cut and pasting.

A Helpful, Inclusive Tool

Commentaires : The best thing about Hostfully is how helpful and responsive the Customer Service is. Anytime I have a question, I know I can reach out for help and find incredibly helpful responses that will not only help me with the immediate issue but will also help me learn what to do in the future.

Avantages :

Hostfully allows both myself and the other members of the team to see a full picture of each of our properties — the calendar, booked visits, requested bookings, messages, and so much more.

Inconvénients :

There are some things that are not as intuitive as they could be. Sometimes it is not clear where information is being pulled from, or there are multiple spots to enter the same information. When that information is updated, it can be hard to remember every spot that has the same information.

This Product Works!

Commentaires : We started with it when we began utilizing several vacation rentals at once and it's been an incredible help!

Avantages :

Hostfully keeps us up to date on our rentals, including last minute bookings. It integrates well with Airbnb and Booking.com. We love the program!

Inconvénients :

It's difficult to get someone to help right away, takes time to get a person set up to help.

The Time I Tried To Contact Support

Commentaires : While Hostfully promotes a 24/7 support channel, unfortunately, the people who answer the support chat take a significant amount of time to reply, and it generally happens in the middle of the night if you live in North America. While support says they'll reply in minutes, it turns into 9 hours; then, when they reply a second time asking for a few minutes, it's another 6 hours. There is no phone support available, and one time it took several messages to the Sales line until someone finally answered through support.

Avantages :

The layout and appearance of the software are good, and the GUI is easy to navigate. There are a number of features available on the platform. However, they don't always work.

Inconvénients :

While looking nice, the GUI has significant lag times, which cause delays with screen loading times. As well, the message inbox has, at times, been completely inaccessible, loading to a blank screen. While a number of features are in place, simple things like adding a link to a message template required editing the raw HTML code to get messages to display properly. As well, while there is an app, it's nearly useless with long lag times and constant spinning circles with no ability to update.

Avantages :

We have loved our onboarding experience with Hostfully. The support team is wonderful. We really appreciate the response time and attention to the details. Support is always helpful and encouraging. We love the way that the platform looks. We also really appreciate the built-in booking website. Super helpful and keeps things streamlined. We also appreciate how we receive updates regarding new or improved features.

Inconvénients :

We know that the team is working on updating the calendar features. We would like to see more flexibility with the calendar so that we can add color-coding, and notes, etc. but otherwise we are very satisfied with the stremline processes.

Critical Feature Missing

Hostfully does have some good features..

Inconvénients :

Hostfully is missing a KEY FEATURE that is pivotal to operating a short-term rental business in an efficient manner! The missing feature is their integration with VRBO. While Hostfully allows you to set up "automated messages" to guests who book through Airbnb, they lack the integration to do the same on VRBO. This is something that they won't tell you during the training sessions, so please take this as your warning!! After I signed up for Hostfully, I learned about this lack of integration and immediately canceled and am now using Guesty which not only has integration to message your guests automatically from their platform, but they also have many many more features as well! If you're serious about growing your short-term rental business, I highly recommend using software that can support you (not Hostfully)!

Hi Bailey, Thank you for trying Hostfully. First, I want to apologize for the miscommunication on how our automated messaging works since it works for all channels including Vrbo. I believe the limitation you are referring to is the lack of a Vrbo messaging API. This prevents you from receiving messages in Hostfully sent from the Vrbo guest portal. You can still automate emails to your Vrbo guests and when they respond, correspond with them via email directly from the Hostfully inbox. The lack of a Vrbo messaging API comes from Vrbo themselves. We are patiently waiting for Vrbo to add this to their official API. We are proud to have reached the exclusive "Preferred Partner" status for Vrbo, and because of that, we only integrate through their official API. We do not scrape data/emails in an unofficial way, where a simple change in HTML code could break the "integration". In the meantime, the workflow mentioned above works well for our customers.

Avantages :

- I find extremely easy to edit the properties amenities, description in various languages, rules and any information that should appear on the listing across all channels. I have a good overview of ALL the fields and I can bulk edit certain infos. I have to say that this ability has greatly improved the quality of our listing and that is the most important. - I am generally happy with the enhanced reporting tool, although it needs some improvement.- I really appreciate the support team! Available at my fingertips via chat 24h/24h, they are friendly and helpful.- The pipeline allows me to check that all coming arrivals are processed (payment, contract, etc).

Inconvénients :

- Slow to load, a bit time consuming to navigate through the platform.- I find the owner reports tools are not robust enough or easy to implement. I feel like there's no permanent accounting, but airy reports. - We have to delete it completely if we don't want to pay for a property that is no longer for rent (or paused), therefore losing all the booking datas – and all datas. We cannot archive it.- Some bugs with the unified inbox tool- Not so easy to edit our customers list

This is the most amazing platforms I have tried. And it has it all, no need to switch to another system, because this just works 100% and makes my job so much easier and quicker.

Inconvénients :

The still need to implement the Faroe Islands as a country and I am looking forward to that happens.

Commentaires : We moved to Hostfully wanting a software that integrates with Quickbooks and they have not disappointed us on anything that we have asked them to tackle.

Avantages :

[SENSITIVE CONTENT], the owner, is available and is always open to improving his software to increase revenue and help to push our properties through API connections. Customer service is amazing and the costs for the software is minimal compared to some of the very large software options out there, but better!

Inconvénients :

No cons! we are so happy with the software... I would love a phone app... that is the only con!

I like the intergration with the channels, so easy to use and set up. The on boarding process was painless! I love the templates and triggers and soooooo much more!

I am not reciveding all the information that if asked on the pre arrival form, I want to be able to print a PDF and this isn't happening yet.

With Hostfully, we expect to grow our portfolio and increase the number of listings much quicker and offer exceptional support to our guests and homeowners.

Avantages :

The Pipeline view is extremely useful and simplifies management of the complete guest experience cycle. Creating new propery listing is also very easy and simplified.

Inconvénients :

Direct Booking Website and the website builder is not so great. We are looking for more flexibility and better features.

Avantages :

Hostfully has changed our lives. I really love the pipeline feature - all the information I require for my daily operations are there! Hostfully just has a fresh look and is mainly friendly for users. Whenever we have questions, we work with their amazing customer service team - [sensitive content hidden], we love you! Overall, Hostfully has a great team and makes our lives easier.

Inconvénients :

There are some features that need to be worked on - for example, being able to edit imported leads (Booking.com). Being able to message VRBO guests through Hostfully inbox. Being able to apply discounts to certain periods of time, not for it to be applied to the whole year.

Love hate relationship

Commentaires : The biggest help has been having the cleaners being notified each time a booking occurs. It has been a lengthy process to convert to Hostfully. Onboarding was not as good as I had hoped. I still don't know how to use much of the website. Your chat support is excellent. I am very disappointed that I have more work to do with VRBO because we use Hostfully. I have thought of discontinuing because it has made it so much more difficult. I haven't because I like Pricelabs being able to change my pricing daily. I had hoped using a channel manager would make my work easier and simpler. That has not been the case.

Avantages :

I can see all the bookings on one calendar. They send messages to my cleaners as soon as a booking is made. One change that goes to all platforms. I can plug in Pricelabs to change my pricing. Support is great. Quick chat responses, answers my questions and solves the problems.

Inconvénients :

No app is a real problem. Please get it running soon. Hard to read pages of website, the muted grey and other muted colors are hard to read. Type font is way too small to read on a phone. Calendar can be confusing. Hard to add jobs, everything is too small and sensitive, so I end up on the wrong date, etc. Seem to have to go to different locations on website to get something done. There should be an automatic assignment, when it is just me handling everything. Sometimes I need to do something but can't, then I remember I have to assign it to me before I can manage the thing I need. Since having a channel manager it is a lot more work for me, because VRBO will not collect funds nor report and pay occupancy tax. Inquiries cannot be handled through Hostfully, only bookings. Onboarding was lengthy, difficult, incomplete, poor scheduling and cancellations. We have had some glitches where it wasn't sending out the information correctly. I still need more explanations of all the bells and whistles, but onboarding is over, so is my training.

Treehouse Rental using Hostfully Platform

Commentaires : The overall experience has been good. Hostfully offers what I feel is a comprehensive platform for what our business requires. The customer service team has been fantastic. The integrations are really helpful, notably the short term rental insurance and remote lock options. Super helpful!

Avantages :

The integration capability and the Guidebooks. The Hostfully platform is comprehensive and offers everything we need to run our rental business. We have not used the channel manager for airbnb and others yet, but that will be a key driver for growth.

Inconvénients :

The new calendar experience and job creation. Like seeing the big picture for reservations, and a linear calendar does not allow that. The job creation software only allows a few jobs to be created at a time.Lastly, adding new features and the voting system is less than ideal.

needs major work

Commentaires : many clunky elements of the software. Frankly, I think it needs a major cosmetic overall to make it more user friendly.

Avantages :

Good software, but needs a ton of work, especially in the Trigger management as well as accounting side of the house. The software is just "clunky" and not user-friendly in many areas which is unfortunate.

Inconvénients :

The communication with guests and missing very obvious features, such as quick access to see who is currently being hosted and the ability to manage easily. Also there is no ability to charge a customer directly on the platform; we need to go through Stripe to do "add on" services

Avantages :

The price is very competitive.Customer service is dedicated, although sometimes slow to respond.

Inconvénients :

Lack of features that ease work, and lack of multi language among other things. There needs to be a feature to be able to edit multiple listings at once.
