Future is here

5,0 il y a 3 ans

Commentaires : BIM will certainly change the construction industry in ways we cannot fully appreciate yet. Revit is of the best solutions that are pushing this revolution forward.

Avantages :

- Game-changing and full-featured building BIM design software (Building Information Modeling) - Simplified the design process beyond belief from the days of AutoCAD - Quantity take-offs are now byproducts of the building model, not a separate business process. - With BIM (Not only Revit) the plans, sections and quantity take-offs are all dynamically related. Any change to one of them is immediately reflected on the others - Works well for Architectural, Structural, HVAC, and MEP modeling. - Easy to use yet very capable. - Seamless integration with other Autodesk solutions (NavisWorsk, Robot .. etc.) - Plenty of training resources online.

Inconvénients :

- The price is too steep for companies in developing countries especially since it uses an annual subscription for each user.

Revit: The Pros and Cons of Using This Powerful BIM Software

4,0 le mois dernier Nouveau

Commentaires : Revit is a powerful tool for building design and construction, but its complexity and cost may make it less suitable for individual users or smaller firms. Its collaborative capabilities and advanced visualization tools can be particularly useful for larger, more complex projects.

Avantages :

Integrated design: Revit allows users to create a single, integrated model that incorporates all aspects of a building project, including the architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems. This can help ensure that all elements of the project are coordinated and work together seamlessly.Collaborative: Revit enables teams to work together in real-time, making it easy to share and collaborate on project files.Robust visualization: Revit provides advanced visualization tools that allow users to create detailed, high-quality 3D models and renderings of their designs. This can be useful for both design and presentation purposes.

Inconvénients :

Steep learning curve: Revit can be difficult to learn, particularly for users who are new to BIM software or have no experience with 3D modeling.Expensive: Revit is a professional-grade software and can be quite expensive, particularly for individual users or small firms.Revit requires a powerful computer with a dedicated graphics card to run smoothly.

A solid assurance to find project systems flaws before implementation.

5,0 il y a 2 semaines Nouveau

Commentaires : Revit has become an indispensable tool for our projects, as we can always find interference between systems, as well as we can find appropriate solutions without affecting the workflow on the site.

Avantages :

Revit is the best BIM program ever, and they have strong modeling tools, which enable us to design a thorough 3D simulation for all civil and architectural works and the project's MEP systems. Revit provides great cooperative capabilities, which enables us to distribute the burden of work according to the specializations with high efficiency, as well as we can involve external advisers at any time to participate in the design or amendment of some parts. It is great that there are many ingredients and ready-made elements, as well as integration with AutoCAD can easily import two -dimensional plans and work to assemble them within Revit so that we can get a very accurate three-dimensional simulation for designs, which enables us to discover any interference between the different systems of the project and work on Amending its course before a time before the actual implementation of the site appeared.

Inconvénients :

We cannot talk about the negatives of Revit if we exclude the high price, which is an obstacle to adding new members from within the institution. It should also be noted that the device's capabilities have a major role in the smooth use of Revit, and the user will suffer if his device has weak capabilities. Sometimes I also face difficulty when opening plans from previous versions.

Powerful software application for Civil Engineers

5,0 le mois dernier Nouveau

Commentaires : It generates construction documentation directly from the building model. With Revit, users can create detailed plans, sections, and elevations that are linked to the building model. This ensures that the documentation is always up-to-date and accurate, which can help to reduce errors and save time.

Avantages :

Revit is a powerful software application that is widely used in the architecture, engineering, and construction industries. Its main strengths lie in its ability to create 3D models of buildings, and its comprehensive set of tools for designing, documenting, and collaborating on building projects. With Revit, users can create accurate and detailed building models that can be used to visualize designs, make changes to designs, and communicate design intent to clients and stakeholders.

Inconvénients :

It requires some training. One should have a high end configuration or else the rendering will take a lot of time.

Revit- Building Design and Construction Software

4,0 le mois dernier Nouveau

Commentaires : Revit is a powerful and versatile building design and construction software that offers a range of features and tools for creating detailed and accurate 3D models.

Avantages :

One of the main advantages of Revit is its ability to create detailed and accurate 3D models of buildings and structures. The software offers a range of tools and features for creating and manipulating building elements, such as walls, floors, and roofs, and for adding detail to the models, such as furniture and fixtures. Revit's parametric design capabilities allow users to make changes to the model in real-time, with updates automatically reflected in all related elements and views.

Inconvénients :

Users may require significant training and experience to use it effectively. This can be a barrier to entry for smaller or less experienced design and construction teams.

Commentaires : It is a great tool to design and create 3D drawings. It needs a good computer. It is expensive but worth.

Avantages :

It a a Powerful tool to design structures or elements. Designers can use it for more complex structures. 3D visuals are too good. Parametric Family Creation tool is just awesome. Integration with AutoCad saves a lot of time. It also has cloud base services which makes us to work from home.

Inconvénients :

It needs basic training. Many video tutorials are available in Youtube though. Sometimes 3D rendering takes too much of time. It is not for Interior designers.

An excellent tool if you are willing to invest the time.

5,0 il y a 3 ans

Commentaires : I've been using Revit Architecture since (I believe) 6.0 version I used as a student. I was actually recruited because of its knowledge which was relatively scarce in 2011. It a great BIM (building information model) software that can accomplish almost any design task. What sets it apart from say Archicad is that the built in content is scarce but the built in tools will let you design all the missing components. You might need a specific type of window, title block or dimension line - all of which can be adjusted so it fits your needs. The problem is that it takes a lot of time to develop this design environment and in the end you are totally invested and cannot switch. Still, once you get going it is great.
Designing is very quick. Most options are easily visible and intuitive. The tutorials as I remember where great - you get to built a house from scratch and learn many tools. HVAC, electrical and Construction designers can do a model in Revit as well and combine with the architect. Faults in model can be spotted early.
We have been using Revit Architecture for 10 years now and do not think about switching. Partly because the BIM competition is still weak and partly because now we have invested so much time that it would be hard to recreate all this experience again. But it is not a bad thing - our projects look good and designing is smooth. I can recommend Revit Architecture with a clear conscience though be ready to spend time creating your business-specific content.

Avantages :

- Easy to learn (hard to master). And intuitive for the most part. - Family editor offer a basic programming syntax so you can design almost anything - many 1st and 3rd party addons to tailor the software - built in 3d views are basic but with ambient shadows and realistic material view they can be shown to the client as a in-progress model. Very convenient to have the possibility. Even in Revit LT (lite, addonless) - Updated every year. Often minor tweaks

Inconvénients :

- Revit LT lacks (among other more important features) a tool to modify shape of a floor. Designing a 3d flat roof is almost impossible and your best bet is to draw flat lines (which defeats the purpose of BIM model) - certain families and certain corrections in the model will cause a disappearance of spot dimensions or regular dimensions. THe built-in error window will display something like "43 error" but you will never be able to locate all deleted annotations. - lack of quality content built in the software. You can create all the families (objects in model) by yourself but it takes time. So it becomes necessary that you have a designated person drawing specific families used in your company or you can depend on 3rd parties for that. The families that come with Revit are basic and often need adjustment -material schedules are not to be dependent upon. A single wall will have the same area of material that is both inside and outside but that is minor. If a wall is cut or joined with another object the volume will be double counted. At the same time any concrete elements in the wall will not be substracted from the wall material volume. Its best to avoid said schedules. - the tools for site planing are basic and often insufficient. A simple road on a slope can be a problem (unless you divide the plane into triangles) - No autosave function and "model hasn't been saved in a while" prompts. The save can take a couple of seconds sometimes but automatic would be better

Solid software

4,0 il y a 3 ans

Commentaires : We have 6 licenses, a mix o Revit LT and Revit. With Revit we are able to save time by creating a 3d models along with flat drawings. Basic views (in Revit LT) with reliastic materials are ok to present to our clients. In complete Revit (sans LT) you can do realistic renderings. Thats a great advantage to be able to use one software instead of 3.

Avantages :

Quite intuititive. A lot of options to create ready to use templates. Realistic views of ongoing project. If something is missing you can create it with ease. Basic programing haleps to create parametric obejcts.

Inconvénients :

Requires company to create its own libraries of object. Built in libraries are beyond horrible. Fine tuning takes time. Pesky errors (dimension line lost reference and it will not tell which)

Revit review

4,0 l’année dernière

Commentaires : My experience has been very good, it is a modern BIM authoring software and deploying this across our organization has been reasonably easy with training. Once users start using it they do not want to go back to 2D ways of working.

Avantages :

This BIM authoring software works very well against modern AEC information production and management. The software benefits from many plugins and integrations to help with this as well. Dynamo integration is very helpful to automate and speed up information production and management.

Inconvénients :

Very expensive and the subscription model means that each year prices increase by around 5%. Autodesk has also been criticized for not developing the software adequately, especially in light of the price increases. Once you are in the software it is hard to move away.

I like Revit 2021

5,0 l’année dernière

Commentaires : It's an excellent program.

Avantages :

You don't need to use any other drawing programs if you learn how to use it. I started to use Revit in 2015, and I was witnessed how the improvement implemented in most of the Revit features. Recently, Autodesk has been improved an energy analysis model feature to suit the 2030 plan of reducing carbon emission to zero.

Inconvénients :

Need to improve in structural analysis modeling.

The only way to design complicated projects collaboratively

5,0 il y a 2 ans

Commentaires : Overall it is an irreplaceable component of my daily job but can sometimes be a pain to figure out a workaround in order to model what I have designed in another program

Avantages :

The ability to link models through bim360 and work on a central model with a team, is revolutionary for our industry. Of course, being able to draw and model at the same time is also so important in delivering a project on time and being able to document changes after construction is also a must. I am always surprised when I meet people who are still working with cad but I suppose on a small project revit may not make sense.

Inconvénients :

The ability to design curves and angles, and model other complicated features, really needs to be vastly improved. Revit is cutting edge in so many ways but doesn’t lend itself to designing cutting edge designs. Things like a skylight or a monumental stair and railing should not be so difficult to model and draw when they are so easy to do so in a dozen other programs.

Large Learning Curve But Worth It

4,0 il y a 2 ans

Commentaires : If you're an aspiring firm who's growing and taking on more than they have in the past, this is a great software to look into. Be warned, it will be a higher initial investment, since you will likely want to add-on premade template packages alongside taking time to learn the software. However, once everyone has had time to get acquainted and workflow is setup, this is an amazing tool that can have your productivity soring.

Avantages :

While being a smaller firm, we understand we could make do with software such as Sketchup since it's relatively cheaper and can absolutely get the job done. However, in our office's experience, the second you have more than 2 people in your office with more and more projects on your plate the more of a time and money sink it becomes having to keep track of coordinating all of your models. Revit, especially with BIM 360 cloud storage, is an amazing asset to have when it comes to collaboration and sheet creation. We also love to use Enscape with Revit to produce our marketing material.

Inconvénients :

There is absolutely a learning curve that goes into taking on this program. Not only will you need time to get accustomed to speaking Revit's language and recognize its quirks, but you'll likely want to invest into premade templates and families since the defaults available on Revit aren't quite at a presentation standard. (Also, there's an example of the the language thing I mentioned; families can be anything from doors, fixtures, casework, etc.) Beyond the initial setup, there's still aspects of the UI that aren't exactly intuitive, but there have been improvements made over the years but it's still far from perfect.

Review of Revit from a daily user

5,0 il y a 4 mois

Commentaires : Overall its a pretty good software and industry standard at this point. It helps a lot in laborious talks which will take forever in software that just have 2d drafting. So, even if you are an organization or an individual, you should give a previous thought as BIM software are the future and are getting widely accepted in the industry.

Avantages :

- It saves a lot of time as everything is simultaneous rather than working in Autocad.- Incorporating small changes is easy as you can change in one view be it 3d, plan or elevation and everything is changed. Even in you composed sheets and thus is of great help.- It has various integration with other 3d rendering software such as Lumion, Enscape, Twinmotion, etc. So, you don't have to export your model to another software, everything is just there. - Integration of Dynamo helps even more.

Inconvénients :

- It hasn't received a lot of changes for the past 5-6 years or even more, so even if you are using an old version or a new one, there are hardly any differences.- Modelling in it as a beginner is a little hard and might seems a steep learning curve initially. - Making curved buildings requires a lot of effort as compared to simple rectangular ones.- Inbuilt render engine is not that great so you have to use another program for rendering.

Great deal to save your time and efforts

5,0 il y a 2 ans

Commentaires : I would highly recommend settling up this software which is becoming a common choice in several firms. The key benefit is that Revit can manage building data during its complete lifecycle, starting from the conceptual design stage to an end rendered walkthrough, real quick while getting into objective complexity. I must say, here lies a great deal to save your time and efforts!

Avantages :

Revit’s pros are all about its versatility in creating easy-going and impactful solutions through computer-aided designs, drafting, and graphics, both in 2D and 3D. It offers: • Versatile toolsets for - architectural design, MEP and structural engineering and construction • BIM software benefits - 3Cs: can Collaborate, Communicate, and Co-ordinate • Quickness - All components are dynamically related. Any changes made are reflected immediately in all aspects. • Advancements - Allows parametric modeling and Smart object import, realistic renders, walkthroughs, etc • Inbuilt vast library and templates • Multiple users can work on a file at the same time • Easy and user-friendly interface

Inconvénients :

I have been using Revit for two years now. I feel this software has great potential with practical aspects, but it is not flexible enough to try experimentation or organic modeling. The quirks lie with “so many tools equal to so much of confusion.” I had issues in tackling topographies, working organically, higher-lower version conversions, storage capacity, error messages not being that detailed, and yes, its hefty price tag. Some operations get too challenging to go along. It seems to be a bit rigid, although, overall, it gives out a practical, working output.

Revit is awesome!

5,0 il y a 2 ans

Commentaires : Overall Revit is awesome to use and I enjoy using it every day. With great Autodesk help support and an active online community, you can always find solutions to any issue you may have. I have been recommending Revit to colleagues every chance I get.

Avantages :

I love that Revit is fully 3D. You can see your model being created as you draw and change anything you don't like. You can get quantities immediately and they are updated in real time. You can easily add new components with just a few clicks. Changing wall types and styles is just a few clicks and all views are updated immediately. You won't have to make the change in section or elevation views. You can still add 2D elements whenever you like using model lines or detail lines. Revit is a great software to use.

Inconvénients :

The only drawback is that you cant save a file to lower versions of the software. A Revit 2017 file can only be opened in Revit version 2017 or higher. That file cannot be opened in Revit 2015 software. Backwards compatibility would be great to have, just like some other Autodesk products example AutoCAD.

Revit: One Stop Solution for Construction Management

5,0 il y a 3 mois

Commentaires : Revit is a hope for all those architecture students who wants to complete the submission requirement in one go.

Avantages :

The software provides a platform for all kinds of work from the inception of a construction project to its execution. The software is very handy in handling the working drawings and their cost estimation.

Inconvénients :

The software is a boon for all architects, the only thing Autodesk can change is the compatibility of different saved versions of the Revit files.
