Avantages :

It has a simple interface that's easy for anyone to understand and doesn't need a lot of training. The cost was actually fairly reasonable compared to many other virtual event platforms out there.

Inconvénients :

Our workshop moderators were really nervous about the chat and Q&A feature during sessions.

A great, easy to set-up and manage events platform"

Commentaires : We used Webex Events to improve participant engagement and reduce staff time for a non-profit's annual 24-hour ski marathon. The app enabled us to put a lot of different participant materials in a single, continually updated location (agenda, rules, announcements, hour-by-hour results, etc.) enabling our staff to spend much less time printing and distributing materials and much more time engaging with participants. The athletes loved the app because they could see their results in real time and track how they and their teammates were doing in real time.

Avantages :

We evaluated several different event platforms, and Socios seemed like the easiest to set-up and manage. We first tried to use another platform and that proved too difficult so we pivoted back to Socio (which was more expensive, but worth it in the end.) As a board member of a small, community-based non-profit that produces an annual 24-hour skiing event, we wanted an application to improve participant engagement and reduce work for staff. The results we got in our first year with the Socio / Webex events app were phenomenal.Over half of our 600 athletes used the app over the two days of our 24-hour ski marathon, totaling over 23,000 minutes of usage! The built-in features of the app around Agenda, Announcements, and Participant networking were easy to set up and delivered a lot of value in reducing work on our staff.Even more impressive was how easy it was for us to seamlessly integrate with additional content to deliver a highly-tailored experience to our attendees -- the Web link feature is extremely valuable (especially the ability to pass External ID to a URL), and our athletes were able to continually see their progress in a custom "achievements" web page we built (~2300 clicks from ~280 users), as well as pull up the individual and team rankings in real-time from our race-timing vendor (another 6600 clicks cross 280 users). Additionally, our ability to embed documents and text content made the Event App a one-stop place for rules, instructions and other key details

Inconvénients :

There are some small downsides, especially for folks on a tight budget. These include extra costs for API access, branded apps (in IOS / Android store), etc. Also, once you set up an external ID for a participant it's difficult to change

Avantages :

Webex Events (formerly Socio) was well received by our attendees, staff, exhibitors, and sponsors. We hosted our Symposium in September, and the event was hybrid. The Webex Events (formerly Socio) app was instrumental in keeping everyone organized. we liked that our sponsors and exhibitors could reach the virtual crowd just as easily as the in-person crowd. Building the app to our specifications was so simple and the help desk was quick to respond with any questions we had. The entire team at Webex Events (formerly Socio) was great to work with! Implementing the app was effortless. Our team was able to customize the app to our color scheme and highlight features of our event. The scheduling function made it straightforward for our attendees to join their session, see the upcoming speakers and overall plan their day based on who they wanted to see speak. The app was used by all involved for two consecutive days. Integrating the Webex Events (formerly Socio) app into our event to keep everyone organized was effortless. We really liked the ticket purchasing feature, this made selling tickets for both in-person and virtual attendees painless. The reporting tool was helpful at the end, we were able to see who and how many people attended each event. The reporting tool and metrics that are available in the end make planning your next event so easy. We also streamed 4 consecutive speakers every and the app records each of those sessions automatically.

Inconvénients :

The least helpful aspect of the Webex Events (formerly Socio) app was the training tool on streaming the sessions. The tool is only set up to train you to stream one session at a time. We spent two days training only to find out the day of our event that streaming 4 consecutive sessions was nothing like streaming just one session. It made the morning of day one of our event stressful. We suggest modifying the training for those that make more than one consecutive session so that you can train on streaming at least 2 sessions at a time.

Use a better provider than WebEx

Commentaires : We signed up at the start of the pandemic, when all videoconferencing providers were looking for ways to handle the effects of the pandemic, but my company is currently switching away from WebEx, we all complain about it regularly. The main reason we chose WebEx was the fact that attendees were not required to download software, but based on how the usability is, that's not a big deal for us anymore, plus a lot of people now have Zoom or Teams downloaded. It took a lot of use getting use to WebEx, it wasn't very intuitive. The support has been lackluster when we've encountered issues.

Avantages :

The video quality was okay. The fact that downloading a program is not required for attendees.

Inconvénients :

User functionality/ease of use, scheduling and calendar events, the website, support, how hosting the events is handled with user accounts.

Commentaires : Webex has revolutionised our business. Streamlined many processes that were long and unnecessary, saving us time and man power.

Avantages :

From start to finish event management on Webex is simple and easy to use. From creating the event and the registration platform all the way to attendee management and the mobile application it is the all-in-one software that literally anyone could use. The customisability on registration and the event app has allowed for us to collect data at events like never before. The support desk are superb and respond to any questions in under 15 minutes allowing you to continue on with what you were working on in no time. We constantly receive compliments on our mobile application when compared to larger competitors mobile apps.

Inconvénients :

The only things missing are some CRM API integrations and event websites. Other than that it is great.

Socio's Platform is the Ultimate Engagement Tool

Commentaires : From start to finish, we were well taken care of--from contract phase to event day. Again, we had the Orange Glove service so we had several trainings (staff, speakers, sponsors) and brainstorm sessions to help teach us about ways to maximize features and build an engaging virtual conference agenda. Lots of great trainings and idea shares!

Avantages :

This platform is so versatile for streaming options--you can use a variety of streaming options or use the one they offer. It also keeps your audience's attention with incredibly engaging features and a great variety of them--from gamification, a social wall, integration with the virtual lounge of your choice (same for a virtual photobooth) to the chat, polling and q&a offerings, attendees are enthralled and truly participate. Additionally, having the mobile app complementing the web app means if an attendee needs to step away from their desk during a virtual event, they never miss a minute of content.

Inconvénients :

While the initial buildout felt daunting (we bought the Orange Glove service so did not have to do this ourselves)--once the hand off from the Socio team to our team was done and we were trained, it was fairly easy and intuitive. Now that we've done it once, we'd likely be able to do our own event builds in the future if we have the time/bandwidth--but truly, it's a fantastic option to be able to have the Socio team perform the buildouts.

Took my drab virtual event to FAB!

Commentaires : The only thing I wish if that maybe I could purchase them for a few months - a year instead of having to purchase credits per event.

Avantages :

Socio was so easy to use right from the very start AND if, for some reason, you did have a struggle in some area, their customer service team has an unbeatable response time via chat. Lastly, in terms of learning, there are a lot of written articles, usually with videos or screenshots included, to teach you about all of their features and how some have chosen to utilize them. Your assigned Customer Success Manager will have 1-1 calls with you to walk through YOUR event and answer any pertinent questions, and on event day, everything went as smoothly as possible. Thank you Socio!

Inconvénients :

I wish I could chat with my guests from the Streaming Studio, having to lose a team member from the studio to have them sign in as a guest so they could chat was not my favorite.

Commentaires : Overall the experience has been great! We have a dedicated account rep that has been great and always available to answer any questions we have no matter how small.

Avantages :

I really appreciate the ability to connect and then later download all connections to email directly via an excel file.

Inconvénients :

I would like to see a feature to email all users directly via the app so that we do not have to use a separate service.

The ease of use for the registrants was unmatched. Our whole conference was easily accessible through the site, with everything centralized.

Easy-to-use, comprehensive tool with great support team

Avantages :

Socio (WebEx) is easy to use and offers a comprehensive variety of features. However, it's not overwhelming like many of the other tools on the market seemed. For a marketing team with no developer planning our annual conference, it let us do our jobs without any extra help, and pull off a fantastic event that far exceeded everyone's expectations. We couldn't have done without Socio.

Inconvénients :

The backend navigation is a little clunky, but you get used to it.

Commentaires : Very good experience with the scheduling, attendee management, mobile access and user guide of the WebEx events in our company.

Avantages :

The WebEx events have lot of user friendly features. I like the attendee management feature because it has seamless experience with managing the questions during meetings or events.

Inconvénients :

The UI of the WebEx events are not very much friendly. The ticketing system is not very much manageable. The integration of zendesk is very useful in ticketing.

First Time Socio User

Commentaires : All in all, socio was a great platform to use for our largest ever educational program in our organization's history! The customer support staff was great and responsive and all users enjoyed the platform. Looking forward to using it again!

Avantages :

Socio is a very user-friendly program on both the front end and back end for both users and administrators. It was very easy to add our organization's branding to everything on the platform. The live streaming service was easy to navigate and manage. They have a wide range of accessibility features to make the platform accessible to a wide variety of users.

Inconvénients :

I think going into our sales pitch we were under an impression that the breakout rooms feature would be an already integrated program incorporated into socio. However, we were redirected to a third party wonder.me to satisfy that need. Wonder.me is a fairly new program that has incredible potential but there is still a lot to be desired and took some time getting used to. Another piece that I wish would have been included is an included push notification or email function to send users emails who had not registered their account yet. Socio does have a registration platform however if you do your registration through your own CRM database or a third party you have to export a list and email them personally rather than having it baked all in one.

Commentaires : We have only used Webex as a virtual platform, so I would say the biggest issue we solved is Sponsorship Benefits. The sponsorship benefits on Webex was absolutley incredible - something you can't accomplish holding a conference via Zoom or even other virtual event platforms! We would also like to use Webex for hybrid or in-person events and use their other features (QR codes, lead generation, etc). We know how valuable these features are, and knowing how easy the interface of Webex is to use, we may end up switching from our current provider.

Avantages :

The build out process was phenomenal, and the support was constant. The backend has support 24/5 with immediate response times, and the Socio Knoweledge Base was extremely helpful and instrumental in helping me with the build-out. The features that are included are incredible, and I love that it's also mobile friendly!

Inconvénients :

There were some issues with the video rooms, but it was on the user end.

Commentaires : We have been incredibly pleased. The product is solid and performs incredibly well. But the product is only as good as the support and the support team beats anything I've experienced. They are timely, witty, knowledgable, and engaging. It is never transactional. They even follow up on things I've commented about doing. They are quick to offer solutions for creative solutions to ideas we have to leverage the app. All around impeccable online/virtually instant service.

Avantages :

We use the Socio product for our church members. It is an incredibly simple, convenient, and secure way to share information and keep everyone updated on events/activities. It is a very easy to use app for the user. The administrative process is also incredibly intuitive. It has worked flawlessly for our needs. And the instantly available support team is better than any on-line support I have ever received. This is a hallmark of distinction and sets them head and shoulders above other SaaS products I have used.

Inconvénients :

The only drawback we've had is the need to refresh the app. Users who are not as tech savvy may not recognize the need to update (a circle arrow icon in the top right of the app) the content from time to time. It is a very minor issue we've been able to educate around. On a scale of minor to major scale, this is an incredibly minor issue for us.

Socio Events. Both their Product and their people are the best we have used.

Commentaires : WIthout socio, I am not sure we could have put on a successful virtual event the past two years. Their tool and level of customer service literary kept our business alive. We heard from multiple attendees that are simply sick and tired of coming to virtual events, however, that socio was the best platform they had used and set us apart from other virtual events they had joined. In a post-event survey, 2/3 of our attendees rated the socio platform 4 or 5 stars (out of 5). There are always plusses and minuses to various platforms and nothing is ever going to be a perfect fit for everyone. Socio does so much very well but there are a few places, like the current way that presenters are cut off from attendees in the normal system that if that is what is most important to you, there may be better options. However, if you are talking about out-of-the-box solutions for an event of any size, their customer service puts them far above anyone else.

Avantages :

Our Main Event each year is a convention. Usually, it is in person with about 4000 people. Last two years we have been virtual. Socio was the event app for our last in-person event and the two virtual events we have held. It connects with our website and our registration system to automatically bring in content and attendee information. In this last year, we also used their platform for the streaming solution. The product itself is flexible but fairly easy to use. We have a fairly complex event (120+ sessions over three days with hundreds of speakers and dozens of sponsors) and not only did it handle it - but it looked good. Customer service and attention is the best that I have seen. We have used 4-5 different event app systems over the past decade and no one came close to socio in terms of both meeting our needs and responding to questions and issues

Inconvénients :

For an organization like out with so many sessions, speakers, and sponsors, but only a few staff members, it would be nice if there was a level of access to the back end content that we could give to the speakers and sponsors for example so they could upload their own information or make needed changes. Also within the socio studio - currently there is not an easy way for presenters to interact with chat or to handle Q&A. But based on my experience with them, I would not be surprised if this wasn't addressed in an upcoming update.

Best Suited for all occasion

Commentaires : I have been organizing and attending meetings using Webex. It was much better than the other existing apps and majorly the disconnectivity during presentation issue is resolved.This app gives you comfortable feeling when you are presenting a meeting & you can smoothly complete it.

Avantages :

Its a good app with the clear audio and picture presentation. It has highly recommended features like polling, notifying the host and background change.It also works very well with poor network connection so you don't have to worry if you are attending meetings during traveling or in remote area.This UI is best suited for large scale presentation and it also providing robust and healthy service for users.It is simple to understand and can be used by students eaily.

Inconvénients :

It took little much time to switch the camera and it get stuck sometime even if we have a good WI-FI connection while switching.The screen ratio need to be improved and sometimes if it get stuck by either bug or due to network issue , you have to completely close the app and reopen again.

Socio helped us pivot our event during the pandemic

Commentaires : Overall we enjoyed our experience with Socio (both the app and their team), so much so that we decided to renew our contract with them for our 2021 hybrid conference.

Avantages :

Our team really enjoyed working with Socio during our shift to a virtual event last fall. We loved the sleek look of the web and phone app and felt like it was fairly easy for our attendees to use. We also really loved working with our dedicated customer success manager [SENSITIVE CONTENT]. She is great!

Inconvénients :

We had some issues with streaming during our conference and felt like our day of tech assistance rep (who we paid extra for) was not as helpful as they could have been leaving us to troubleshoot issues on our own at times. It was also very time-consuming to get exhibitor and sponsor content onto the app. It would be easier if they could just build their profiles on their own.

Socio was Great for our Virtual Art Education Conference!

Commentaires : Our experience was very beneficial to our organization. We are a repeat customer of Socio, planning our 2nd conference, (hybrid this time), to take place in October!

Avantages :

Honestly, the customer service is the best thing about this software! We regularly had questions and they were always easily and quickly answered by the Socio team. We also liked their web app aesthetic, ease of use and their willingness to let us collaborate with another teacher organization to plan two virtual conferences.

Inconvénients :

The price is high for a nonprofit teacher organization like us to afford with out collaborating with another association. It was also a little confusing in the app when you look under attendee profiles, you don't see your own profile. It just comes us as "me."

Great Product!

Commentaires : Wonderful experience. I look forward to using again.

Avantages :

One of the main issues we have had with other software was the confusion or difficulty our attendees had longing. But that wasn't a problem with Socio, all our users logged in with ease and had a great experience.

Inconvénients :

I can't think of anything specific. Of course there is always room for updates and I look forward to seeing what the Socio team comes up with.

Super easy-to-use and super helpful event app

Commentaires : We use it to assist our physical events, mainly for delegates to connect with each other before the event, visit sponsors virtual booths, and we make announcements about the event in the App. We upload event materials onto the App so the delegates can download delegate list, onsite guide. So we didn't even print event guides and saved printing costs.

Avantages :

The app is very easy to set up, implement and use. The layout is clear, straightforward and logical and easily customised. The support is 7/24 and very fast. The support team know their subject matter inside out so whatever my questions or issues are, they offer the right answer and help and very quickly and easily all my questions or issues are solved. Some of our delegates are most interested in the App too. They tested inside the App and found it very comprehensive and suit their purpose. So they are going to use it too.

Inconvénients :

Nothing really. Everything is perfect and super perfect!

Very Happy with Webex

Commentaires : Webex is creating a space where I can stay organized and see all my event information in one spot.  As most people in the events world knows, the best thing you can get is more time.  They are giving me back time!

Avantages :

I have been using Webex (formerly Socio) for over a year and a half.  Now I'm very familiar with most of its capabilities, but when I started to use the platform or when I find something new, someone from the Webex help desk is always ready and willing to help me.  They are easy to communicate with, easy to contact, and give detailed instructional help.

Inconvénients :

The only issue we have run into is when an attendee that has been to several of our events, uses different emails to register. Webex tends to remember the last email they used, and then tell the attendee they are not registered. I wish there was a way for the attendee to change the email they registered with, or see what email Webex has defaulted to.

Package Deal - More improvements coming

Avantages :

We got the Orange Glove package that allowed Socio staff to walk us through every step of the planning and setup process. Even though we were delayed in the timeline they gave us, they still supported us each step of the way. The software is easy to use.

Inconvénients :

Our workshop moderators were really nervous about the chat and Q&A feature during sessions. Socio was new to most of our attendees, but we were offered numerous opportunities to practice and become comfortable before our event. Additionally, Socio has not yet integrated Closed Captioning within StreamYard. Due to this we had to use Zoom with CC for some of our larger sessions. Looking forward to that additional feature in the future.

Commentaires : Pretty superb honestly. I wasn't expecting much from an event management software, but was really (i mean really) appreciative of the customer support, the Live stream features, and the ability to customize everything. The feedback from users was really positive.

Avantages :

First off, the customer support is truly off the charts. Although there is a ~8 hour time difference between Socio and myself, they were super reactive each time I had a small question. Second, the product works as advertised, and is a great way to avoid zoom fatigue when hosting online events over several days. I particularly appreciated the Streamyard integration, while the gamification process was a massive hit with attendees. RTMP integration was also a great value add. In ~3 days, the platform was fully populated, customized, and ready for our 500+ person event.

Inconvénients :

Setting up the various pieces of content (users, speakers, sessions, etc) requires a bit of focus and some manual work, but overall the end result is worth it. One element that attendees mentioned was that the video size relative to the whole window was a bit small, if there was a way to reduce the left-hand side menu and/or chat, without going into full-screen mode, that would be great. Finally, raisin the limit to video sizes would help insulate organizers against internet outages.

Easy to use behind-the-scenes platform to create something great.

Commentaires : Socio was new for my company and we were given little time to learn and onboard admins and users. Even though we had little time, one of our team members was able to spend enough time and teach me (and share recordings from time with Socio's onboarding team, which was awesome) and because the platform is very easy to use, I was able to learn what I needed to and use the knowledge docs to find answers quickly. Along with that, whenever I had a question, help was just a click away and were enjoyable to work with providing quick answers, tips, and solutions with fun and engaging attitudes.

Avantages :

I love Socio's ease of use from a backend standpoint. Compared to another company we used in the past for some similar features, Socio's platform was intuitive, fun, and expansive. I was able to accomplish all that I and my design team wanted and the ability to upload content from a spreadsheet was a huge timesaver. This was a great product that allowed me to set up something great for our attendees to experience our event well.

Inconvénients :

The thing that was frustrating about the software was during events. Having to navigate between multiple windows / screens to find problems or glitches and then solve them on the backend was a bit cumbersome. I'm not sure how to go about resolving that as the views are quite different, but it was most helpful to have multiple screens to relieve any friction my users experienced.

Life Saver and Game Changer

Commentaires : The customer service was amazing. Every meeting I was on, they were attentive and engaging and had ideas to help make our event great.

Avantages :

The ease at which we are able to integrate a lot of great features for our members so that we can provide the quality of CLE programs that they expect. During COVID, socio helped us so that our event didn't skip a beat and we were able to keep the fun, energy, and excitement that we would have had in an in-person event, virtually. Socio definitely gave us the ability to allow our members to customize their conference experience. If you want to attend in person, you can. If you want to watch from home, you can. And if you want to do a combination of the two, you can. Socio really helped us to meet the needs of pretty much all of our members.

Inconvénients :

I am not sure that we had any personal dislikes with socio, we just would have preferred to have had our event in person which wasn't their fault. But it added a great addition to this year's hybrid event and made it so that people could choose.

Very highly recommended!

Commentaires : Socio has been fantastic! Their customer service is top notch, they answer emails promptly, and answer the chat within a reasonable time. The back end set up is easy to use and very customizable, our attendees have been very impressed with the app!

Avantages :

The software is very user friendly and easy to customize

Inconvénients :

There were some minor issues in using Zoom with the software but they figured out an easy work around and the users don't notice a difference.
