Oracle Business Intelligence a great tool for any enterprise sizes

Commentaires : I was involver in projects where OBIEE solution reporting needs for finantial enterprise, you can do a ODI integration for ETL solution to help data/information can be available in the way the thematic areas for reports pupulation needs.

Avantages :

Oracle Business Intelligence is a kind of scalable solution, you can start from a suit module and then scalate to add more components. It provides a relative easy to use GUI for auto-service analysis and with the last OBIEE versions you can get the last graphs and animations. Im my experience migrations from previous versions is relative easy to perform, Oracle brings good documentation about the proccess and a lot of blogs about any issues on the process. The main products I used on this tools are: * Interactive Dashboards: brings analytics solution for managers, we can put on dashboards any kind of analysis, reports, graphs, including geo-locations. * OBIP: Publisher offers a strong reporting tool, for formatted documents, and the hability to exports to a variety of formats such pdf, word, xml, html, etc. * Ad-hoc querys: a good solution for auto-services, managers as ends users can build their own answers for business/operative questions, just pulling the business variables and combining graphs and customs in a intuitive tool. * Delivers: helps to schedule analysis, alerts and delivers content to filter configured targets.

Inconvénients :

Oracle bring a complete tool, the cons is just limitated to improve user experiencie when working with time-dimensions, Oracle can work in to reduce the effort for this.

Oracle OBIEE

Commentaires : My over all experiences is not bad with product, because it's completely user friendly.

Avantages :

Yes, it's very nice analytical tool, we can easily manage our dashboard board and reports and also very good graphical interface (GUI).

Inconvénients :

I am currently facing a single issue in this product, why slide view feature not in this product.

It gets the job done

Commentaires : I work with Hyperion during my time as a Data Analyst for the New School. It is not the best BI client out there but it is definitely powerful and I like the ability to have the option to write custom SQL queries.

Avantages :

Ease of usage and functionality.

Inconvénients :

The user interface.

Oracle BI EE

Avantages :

The product has evolved quite nicely with the customer demands and the developing technologies. From a designer and administrator point of view, the key benefits are the variety of components available for different tasks, e.g. BIPublisher, Data-visualization-desktop, Agents, Action framework and Interactive dashboards. There is a rich visualization library and the option to integrate with third party libraries as well.

Inconvénients :

When compared with other BI tools, OBIEE requires a significant infrastructure and detailed planning to implement and manage over time. That is true for the on-premise version. Not necessarily for the Cloud version, which is much more quick to setup and use.

Commentaires : It is easy to analyze the reports thanks to its ability to show the large amount of data in an attractive way

Avantages :

Integrates completely with the rest of the oracle suite, excellent possibility to automate schedules for notifications and static reporting (by sending them via email). Relatively easy to create data clouds, and model them. Beautiful dashboards, interactive and easy to customize. It is easy to administer the permissions and to create access groups for consulting the analysis

Inconvénients :

High initial cost, but turns into an excellent investment. Requires training sessions to be used independently (especially on the back end developer side that user, front end). The language used to connect all data sources is not very easy, not suitable for small and medium-sized businesses. It isn't as good as QlikView how about upgrade, OBI it is not easy to update.

Oracle BI publisher to OBIEE

Commentaires : I do not recommend Oracle BI publisher. OBIEE is a better option option. But still its capabilities are limited.
Oracle needs to improve its Customer support services.

Avantages :

I started with Oracle BI Publisher and migrated the project to OBIEE in Oracle Cloud. For Oracle BI publisher i used MS word. I am happy with OBIEE which is easy to use and got much more features than Oracle BI publisher. OBIEE dashboards and reports are easy to create and schedule.

Inconvénients :

Oracle BI publisher does not have any advanced features. OBIEE should improve the data modeling and security capabilities. Oracle cloud is not stable and we received emails about the server unavailability the last minute. Customer service is not good, it takes a long time to respond to the tickets. Oracle provided specialists to help us but for whatever questions we asked they just shared some links from oracle website. The tool is pricey.

Flexible, Robust, Value for money but a bit laggy

Commentaires : As a BI solution, it is pretty decent, considering the more expensive options. Oracle's main draw has always been it's flexibility, and this solution is no different from its other products in that aspect. You get what you pay for.

Avantages :

Out of the box, it is all ready for use. It's role-based so is pretty secure. It's flexible/extensible. It is pretty intuitive.

Inconvénients :

It sometimes lags a bit, the user interface is not as slick, and looks a bit dated.

Deployed in addition to Oracle Business Suite for Global reporting

Avantages :

A lot of tools to build environments and dashboards for users. Require an acceptable IT support without creating a botleneck when you need adjustment. We deployed it in replacement of BUsiness Objects where the environment and price became not acceptable

Inconvénients :

Complex to design and deploy if your company has a complex structure across multiple geographies and multiple currencies

A complete analytics solution

Commentaires : We use it for our data analytics and reporting needs. Oracle has always amazed us with its robust features.

Avantages :

Slight learning curve. User friendly interface. Robust data processing engine, quite capable to handle huge amount of data with ease.

Inconvénients :

One of the con's that I see is its price. The price seems to be quite high than its rivals. Apart from price, I don’t see any issues with the tool.

Great tool for OCloud BI Developers

Commentaires : Good tool for interfacing with OCloud but opportunity to improve user experience with a better UI interface and smart auto-complete capabilities.

Avantages :

Great way to view and extract data from Ocloud using the BI publisher tool. Simple, intuitive UI with the ability to create and schedule extracts by building data models. For recurring extractions, the scheduler is fairly powerful and easy to use. Users have the option to extract data in different formats and store it locally, or load it on an FTP server using saved credentials.

Inconvénients :

Smart auto-complete option is missing and you have to manually type in full table names and field names. It would be great to have smart capabilities to auto-fill field/column names or the table names at the very least.

All the trimmings at a fraction of the cost

Commentaires : My company is what you would consider small about 200 + employees, but they have big expensive needs. BI Edition One allows us to get what we need without buying the whole cow [Enterprise]. If we every needed more, then we can upgrade without throwing out our initial investment. I won't go into all it does you can read the feature listings but suffice it to say if you use the PeopleSoft platform you will want this product. No more wasting time creating or generating reports for management. They can do for them selves and with a little training ad hoc reporting is at their finger tips. This leaves you with more time to work on leveraging all that you can from this wonderful robust platform.

Avantages :

Inconvénients :

Cost - don't buy if you can't find a way to use it all. Its cheaper but not cheap, this platform is primarily for the PeopleSoft users its set to be of most use on that platform.

It has a high user friendly and native understandable interface with great functionality for analytics.

Commentaires : It is very powerful tool for analytics and for business users that gives a great possibility to visualize all the processes in the company.

Avantages :

Great visibility, easy model and reports building. Easy administration process and creating access groups, speed of reports rendering.

Inconvénients :

Installation process is very hard for users that doesn't have an experience with oracle products, license price.

In total, I have used a version of Oracle for approximately 10 years.

Commentaires : It's the best ERP software that I have used to date.

Avantages :

I like that it is very user friendly. Out of the 5 different ERP systems that I have used, Oracle is the best.

Inconvénients :

Unlike Lawson, Oracle does not provide visibility to the outcome of journals prior to actually posting the journals.

professional BI tool

Commentaires : This is a solid tool and definitely top of the line tools.

Avantages :

Easy to set-up and create dashboards. Quite simple to teach end users to use the BI tool, view and create their own ad-hoc reports.

Inconvénients :

Customization of the dashboards are limited, especially if different time dimensions are neccessary.

Powerful Tool

This is a very powerful tool useful for any Oracle user

Like any Oracle product it can be very difficult to use

Commentaires : The software does what it needs to do and helps me easily pull film-showing stats for my reports. I just wish it could load faster. Maybe one day!

Avantages :

My company uses this software to track statistics of specific film showings in particular languages. It tracks plays from our app and online views of our films. It's accurate and up to date when I pull stats during the week.

Inconvénients :

My only complaint is that the platform is a bit on the slow side. When I pull stats for my reports some weeks, I find myself waiting a while and having to come back a little later to see if it loaded.

Hyperion HFM

Commentaires : Great tool for financial analyses, consolidation, and financial reporting. Invest at the beginning of the project and you will benefit the most.

Avantages :

Great tool to do quick analyses

Inconvénients :

The financial Reporting tool is difficult to use/change.

Oracle Business Intelligence

Commentaires : In my experience i have the oportunity in the implementation in other companies this product. Because another way to work with virtual create directly in oracle is stable and work fine. on the other hand have cloud its the same way to create dashboard, analysis, metrics etc.

Avantages :

is the way to do a analysis, dashboards, create metrics and transform data from the data with graphics and administrative user, roles and other things

Inconvénients :

i don't have nothing that i didn't like in this moment

Oracle BI Standard Edition One

Avantages :

Good for big scale companies with large amount of data set, Reliable & Consistent, lot of features and functionalies.

Inconvénients :

Hard to learn, Need training for sure, way to expensive product, Not worth for small to medium size company

Avantages :

Inconvénients :

It only offers open integration with the rest of the product portfolio of the ORACLE company. The cost of the investment is high, however the business tool is so efficient that the return on investment will be quick thanks to the many benefits it offers.

Oracle Business Intelligence. The largest and most complete tool for data analysis.

Avantages :

Software adapted to the basic needs of storage and qualitative and quantitative analysis of data. The analytical extraction applied to data masses, in Oracle BI is simple, its options are not very complex.

Inconvénients :

When you start the Oracle BI application, different customization options are presented. You must have a high degree of administration of the tool to extract its greatest potential, and for that you can spend a lot of time.

Commentaires : it is a good product in the current situation and preferred for small scale business

Avantages :

it gives the predictive analysis of the historical data and also performs end-to-end business performance management tools, which is very user-friendly.

Inconvénients :

there is nothing but sometimes the software annoys to perform the task. Sometimes, An unnecessary error pops up.

Commentaires : We use Oracle BI for making sense of huge amounts of dates that guides our business strategy and helps decide where to allocate resources.

Avantages :

It integrates well with enterprise software such as SAP and delivers multiple dashboards and reports that help managers make informed decisions.

Inconvénients :

Once the dashboard is created, there is limited functionality for an end user to change the input parameters.

User Friendly

Commentaires : I started using Hyperion the first time as a new employee. I was given minimal training but was able to perform my task with no problem. All tables are functional and efficient to use. My reports generate fast and are easy to be reviewed and approved.

Avantages :

Detailed reports are easily saved for future running.

Inconvénients :

Sometimes report doesn't print correctly.
