Cheaper than an Accountant!

Commentaires : We've only used it this year, and so far, I love it. It was super easy to link up Quickbooks and all our employee info. Very intuitive filling out the tax forms as well.

Avantages :

I love that it syncs with our Payroll, that is why we switched from TaxAct is because TurboTax syncs directly with our Intuit Quickbooks.

Inconvénients :

It's more expensive than TaxAct, and the customer service takes forever to get an actual agent on the phone.

A bit expensive, but great for deductions.

Commentaires : Overall, my experience has been pleasant and it gets my taxes over and done with, even if I think they charge a bit too much for small businesses.

Avantages :

One thing I liked about TurboTax vs another tax system I also have used over the years, is that it does deductions a bit differently. It really helps you break it down to know what you can and cannot add. This is helpful for businesses that have to buy larger equipment or equipment more constantly to keep up with their demand.

Inconvénients :

Like the other company I use, they can be a bit expensive for small companies.

Turbotax took away my tax preparation headache

Avantages :

I wish I could give this software more than 5 stars. It helps me get my taxes done literally within an hour. It saves my time, effort and energy. The calculations are super accurate. The recommendations are super helpful. Turbotax is my tax assistant cum accountant that helps me with every aspect of my tax preparation.

Inconvénients :

I Love everything about TurboTax!!! A few years ago, i used to visit an accountant. Now TurboTax has taken away my hassles. There’s Nothing that I don’t like about TurboTax.

Gets worse every year that goes by

Commentaires : TurboTax is a one-stop-shop for the two certainties in life, Death and Taxes, because by the time you're halfway through using their product, you'll be sure to want to blow your brains out.

Avantages :

The only thing I used to like is that it would sync with other free Intuit products like Mint, but the new version is so buggy that even syncing doesn't work

Inconvénients :

1. Suprise charges. Anything you do will sneak attack you with an upcharge for a necessary feature when you're halfway through. For example, the business version will charge you about $175 just for the software, then another $60 or so for your state, and if you're in NYC, it'll try to charge you even more for the city. Even their phone support team didn't know if NYC and NY State were necessary concurrently. The free version of the personal version hits you about halfway through with a surprise, "if you want to add a 1099, you have to pay us." 2. Bugs galore. The software logs you out, won't accept your password when you try to log back in, and won't let you reset your password. More wasted time. 3. Phone support is near non-existent, and the few staff members who do man the phones appear to lack information and authority to necessary to provide effective assistance. Also, you have to go through a phone tree where you may as well have to answer three riddles and sacrifice your firstborn to get to a human, and by the time you get that poor bastard on the other end of the line, you're seeing red and using every ounce of willpower not to take out your rage on the poor soul who is no doubt underpaid by a corporation that singlehandedly lobbied (successfully) to ensure that your taxes could not be done for you automatically by states for free.

I couldn't believe how comprehensive yet easy it was to be walked through the process for answering questions and providing data that would calculate my Federal and state taxes.

Inconvénients :

It was so thorough that there were a lot of questions that were not relevant to my business so I felt like I was spending too much time on moot things.

I use TurboTax business for preparing tax dosuments of my small business. I also use the regular version of turboTax for personal household tax preparation. It is highly efficient, and saves you a lot of money and time. The tool offers thorough guidance and explanations throughout the tax preparation process, including industry-specific deductions and inventory management. The software is compatible with various operating systems, and the online version can be accessed from any device with an internet connection. TurboTax Business can be integrated with various financial financial software which allows for seamless data transfer with minimum errors.TurboTax Business has robust audit support capabilities, including representation from a tax professional and an automatic audit risk check.

Inconvénients :

Although I am satisfied with TurboTax Business, I can mention two cons for the software. While TurboTax Business covers a wide range of tax forms , it may not be suitable for more complex businesses tax returns or those with multiple states filing requirements.Another thing to mention is that the tool's desktop version requires manual updates and may not be as up-to-date as the online version.

Makes filing taxes easy.

Commentaires : I have been using Turbo Tax for 20 years. It is very thorough and I have never been audited. I feel confident that I am in compliance with the tax laws.

Avantages :

It asks all the questions so you don't leave anything out.

Inconvénients :

I couldn't think of anything except that you have to pay to file the state portion of the tax.

A capable tax management solution for small-to-midsize businesses

Commentaires : Overall, we are very pleased with TurboTax. While the pricing is a little higher than some of the other tax prep platforms, we find the features and funtionality, great customer support, and ease of use outweigh all of this.

Avantages :

TurboTax is extremely easy to use and takes little to no training to master. My favorite aspects of using TurboTax are the built-in tutorials, guidance, and help.

Inconvénients :

Using TuroTax for business is a little pricy compared to other self tax prep solutions. While it is cheaper than using a CPA or other tax preparer, I have found a few other business tax prep programs that were cheaper.

TurboTax Business is easy to use and priced competitively

Integration with spreadsheet, csv, and also Intuit Quicken. Also integrates well with Mint.

Late updates, sometimes after tax-filing season, are a bit curious and frustrating.

You Plug it Chugs

I’ve used TurboTax, electronic tax preparation software, for three consecutive years to file my state and federal taxes. TurboTax provides e-filing taxes services and assistance for those filing as self-employed, small business, military, and retirement tax purposes. TurboTax will make filing less of a hassle; all you have to do is plug, and it will take care of the chugging for you. Overall, I have been pretty pleased with the services but keep in mind it is always good to have a second pair of eyes to examine your taxes before filing. Pros We all know filing taxes can rack up quite a hefty bill, especially when hiring someone to do them for you. TurboTax provides the same services as a real person, for a reasonable cost. One of my favorite perks to using Turbo is that it saves all my previous year’s returns so I can easily access and refer to at any time; you can easily switch between the online platform and the mobile app without having to worry about your data or updates being lost. For those who don’t have a lot of sit-down time you can file on the go, directly from Turbo’s mobile app; which supports both iPhone and Android phone as well as an iPad and Android tablet. For beginners, this application is the step-by-step guide that walks you through the complete filing process from start to finish. If you still find you need assistance there is on-demand support and live-phone support (including CPA or EA assistance that can look over/double check your work before sending your return off) readily available to you 24-hours a day. If you are anything like me… a tax amendment or an extension of some sort is often in the equation; TurboTax contains all the forms you can easily access to complete any of these actions and will let you know exactly where to mail it to. After filing, the IRS should receive your return in as little as 1-2 business days and are generally approved within 1-2 business days as well (deposits and refunds take a bit longer, est. 19 business days).

Inconvénients :

Although TurboTax does have a free plan, keep in mind you will still have to pay when e-filing (technically speaking… it’s not exactly free). As an experienced Turbo user for three years now, I have only encountered one experience where Turbo did not catch a mistake; for this reason, I would highly recommend you have one of the CPA/EA’s available to you via TurboTax look over your taxes before filing to help you catch any potential errors. While I have confidence in the applications security of my data and personal information I would not put 100% confidence in the results it provides as automated software can make mistakes too. In the future I hope TurboTax provides documentation on all of the calculations so that it is easier for people to work backwards and find mistakes when needed.

Makes Taxes Easy

Commentaires : Overall, I love using the software. Makes doing taxes quick and gives me the confidence that I didn't miss anything. Also, the auto-calculations ensure that there are no mathematical errors on your part.

Avantages :

I have used TurboTax for Business for years. In addition to being an employee, I also have some of my own Sole Proprietorships. The software walks a person step-by-step through every aspect of his taxes, accounting for all his income and also for all possible deductions and credits. It auto-calculates the totals. Also, you can use the software to file your taxes electronically, which usually results in a very quick refund, if any is due.

Inconvénients :

Occasionally, there are special circumstances when you have to do a manual over-ride of the software's calculations, but if you do that then there are times when you can't use the software to file electronically. Your calculations will still be correct, but you'll have to file a printed paper copy and send through the mail rather than electronically. This isn't the case with all manual over-rides, but it can happen.

TUrbo Tax Excellent for Small Business

Commentaires : Overall, Turbo Tax for Business make tax prep and preparation of a return a breeze. IN less than one day, with only a little advance tax prep, both state and federal returns were done with ease and no stress.

Avantages :

I am fully confident in the structure, backup and support that Turbo Tax provides for small business owners. Much cheaper that a tax preparer and as a small business owner cost is key to a profitable year. Turbo tax is so simple and easy to use - anyone can do it with confidence that they are getting all the breaks and benefits allowed in preparing a return whether state or federal.

Inconvénients :

I filed for an extension last year through Turbo Tax. when I filed the return, it did not include the fee for filing late so it was a small surprise to get bills from both the State and Feds. In this instance, the amount owed was nominal but in another case things could have been different. Would be good for the software to include late fees/interest/penalties or at least to warn you to check with State and Feds regarding this.

Perfect Way to File Your Own Taxes If you do a Simple return

Avantages :

I have been using TurboTax to file my own taxes for about 4 years now. It's consistently getting better and easier to use. My personal information auto-populates from last year and I can import my W-2's easily. It takes me about an hour to file my taxes, quick and easy. I do not have a very complicated tax return but I always feel confident that TurboTax has asked me enough questions to make sure I am getting the maximum return back.

Inconvénients :

They charge you more to auto-populate your personal info from last year. I had a question about why I did not qualify for a tax credit this year, none of the help buttons or articles were giving me a clear enough answer. I wanted to speak to a customer service rep in person and I scheduled for them to call me but never received a phone call. When I called I had to go thru the usual automated answer/waiting on hold deal. Defeats the purpose of having a no wait option to request a phone call.

Till TTBinc 2020 everything was good. With TTBinc 2021 - something has changed as described below.

Support guys on chat actually tells you if you buy from retailers(which BTW has listed all retailers on their website) then don't expect any help. TTBinc 2020 and TTBinc 2021 cannot co-exist. I have saved chats for anyone who cares, about how disgusting the experience with support was. They have a non-working half-cooked Patch with missing steps which they give you on live chat and which doesn't work. They don't help you over remote connection knowing that it is not going to work. So had to uninstall and re-install TTBinc 2020 on a different computer - where I had to get new codes from Support. They did provide new codes though.

Non-existent support ruined my customer experience

Commentaires : This is the second time I have tried to use Turbotax Corporate, and I will never use this product again!! I was hopeful that the product was improved from the last time I tried it, and while it looked hopeful to start, the moment you encounter an error, you are screwed. I only gave the Turbotax Corporate a second chance, because I’m a huge fan of Turbotax for individuals and QuickBooks. I have used Quickbooks for 17 years and Turbotax for my personal tax returns since 2008. (Back when it was called QuickTax)

Avantages :

The desktop version of the software interfaces well with Quickbooks and updating most information with the exception of the CCA details was easy.

Inconvénients :

The CCA section of the program is horrible, and this is where the non-existent customer support is really hurting Intuit. I'm confident that the developers had a decent idea of when they built this section of the program, but the forms are not intuitive, and the context sensitive help is not helpful. I spent half an hour using the chat to try to get help, but it was probably in the top 2 of my worst experiences with customer support.

Very Intuitive Software

Used this across many years

Commentaires : Extensive experience. I've uses Turbotax Business for many years for a number of businesses. I use it for business planning as well as annual tax forms.

Avantages :

I like that Turbotax pulls data in from prior years' returns. I appreciate the visual interface that switches from forms to step-by-step and links to workbooks and data sources.

Inconvénients :

Over the years, Turbotax has limited direct access to relevant information. By 2019 the links and online community help has become a waste of time. There was once a time when the software led directly into the tax code and tax decisions. Long, long ago. I miss it, but soldier on because I know the software and it integrates year by year.

There is nothin that I do not like about this service. It is super easy to use and super easy tp purchase and submit online and love that I can prepare my taxes in the comfort of my own home versus the alternative.

makes taxes less taxing

Commentaires : I needed a simple basic tax program to do my taxes timely, estimate my quarterly payments, and generally be understandable without overly complicated or risky deductions. Most new businesses want to deduct everything that is arguably business-related. Turbo tax helps me limit my possible outlandish "expenses" from becoming a lialbity. Its basic nature is a good asset for a conservative return.

Avantages :

This is a great program for small business taxes. It helps explain the definitions and calculations necessary to prepare a tax return while ensuring you do not miss anything and do not take unnecessary risks. I appreciated the program's help applications. Intuit's control of the program has perhaps dumbed it down some. Still, I found this easy to use for a simple LLC business with nothing outlandish to depreciate or otherwise complicate the application.

Inconvénients :

This was my first year using it, so I could not merge or otherwise easily import my data. If it was possible to do, I was not able to easily figure it out. I will use this for future returns and hope the historical data will make the next tax year easier. I was a long-time user of turbo tax, and the continuation was a big reason I stuck with it year after year. Since this is a new business for me, I did not have the luxury of having past years already populated.

Ease of use and makes my life easier during tax season

Avantages :

I really enjoy how easy TurboTax is for users who are not very tax savvy. They usually go through a series of questions to help you understand whether you fit within certain criteria (i.e. if you owe capital gains by asking whether you've sold a house this year, how much, etc). Also makes life easier with the option to submit taxes via online.

Inconvénients :

I think it would be nice if they could include a simulation for how much you would owe for taxes with hypothetical questions. As of now, it feels like you need certain documents (i.e. W-4 forms) without just guessing what the numbers could be.

Works well for uncomplicated taxes

Commentaires : I used it for many years and worked well. I recently decided to get an accountant with more complicated tax situation for business.

Avantages :

I liked that it was fairly easy to use, and believe it was fairly accurate for taxes. It seems to work really well with less complicated tax situations.

Inconvénients :

The more complicated my taxes became, the more difficult it was to use. The customer service was via finding an answer on the internet. And the were times it was released before tax updates were made, so it would have to update and things might change.

Taxes Made Easy

Commentaires : This product takes a bit of time to set up the first year but the years following it are easier because it self populates a lot of items for you.

Avantages :

TurboTax walks in step by step through income and helps you to maximize your deductions. It helped me to find deduction I didn't know existed. The e-file feature is great.

Inconvénients :

There seem to be a lot of updates but I know most of that has to do with the IRS and tax laws that are ever changing.

Save time and money

Avantages :

TurboTax Business saves so much time and money for our small business income tax filing. This is a must use to keep all important business records in one spot!

Inconvénients :

There are so many options and functions available it does take a little bit of time to figure out. I know within our small side business we don't use this program to it's fullest capabilities.
