Commentaires : Azure DevOps Server performs excellently for experienced software development teams or those who need a bit of organization to increase their service level and efficiency. We can easily plan our work, collaborate on code development, and build and deploy applications without overlapping code.The access and permissions management groups roles and organizes who can do each part of the work, in general its performance is consistent and based on the best programming standards.

Avantages :

Azure DevOps Server, ensures that the continuous delivery of software is maintained with high quality standards and this entire process is highly automated. We can have group visibility into the compilation, testing, configuration and deployment of the software, from a controlled compilation environment to finally bringing an application to production that generates value for customers.With Azure DevOps Server version control, developers will not need to have backups of multiple copies of the code on their computer, this minimizes the risk of work loss in code production.

Inconvénients :

Azure DevOps Server is an excellent platform, which requires a level of maturity and organization of the work team to really take advantage of all the functionalities, since in itself it produces organization, but additionally we must have work teams willing to invest a reasonable amount of time in learning the use of the platform, designing the best mechanism and procedure that adapts to the needs of the organization and implementing a successful configuration.

Make Agile run like waterfall

Commentaires : Job security - everything is so overly complicated and so much effort must be put into making "dashboards" and exporting data to excel so you can easily edit it, you will look like some kind of cool cyberpunk hacker compared to the people using Jira who just simply get stuff done.

Avantages :

It actually supports git now... which is like comparing Visual Safe Source to TFvc - except that TFvc is still horrible.

Inconvénients :

You could throw a dart to hit something, but the biggest pain point is that it turns the Agile process of managing a project into a project itself. Adding iterations, creating a plan, resources that are shared amongst projects, overlapping sprints, even as something as simple as form templates - this product is really just rubbish and you should save your money, time, and get better quality results with Jira.

Commentaires : Using this DevOps server we managing our projects and codes for the last 2 years.

Avantages :

Using this Azure DevOps server we can easily create projects, tasks and manage them. Also, we can upload our project codes to this server and control the version of the code. We can create a dashboard as well.

Inconvénients :

Dashboard creation has fewer features. If they add more features like Power BI it will help us.

Github and Bitbucket Integration is not in default options and sonarqube Integration as well.

Review for Azure DevOps Server

Commentaires : I have really great experience and I wouldn’t change it. This software ensures easier development and deployment of applications on different markets and servers. Team collaboration, continuos integration, release management and security are benefits which makes it a great product. It is also very convenient for creating technical documentation (Wiki).

Avantages :

Product is easy for use and great for project management. Lot of options for bug/request tracking, release management and continuos integration. Great for Agile software development processes.

Inconvénients :

I think there is space to improve Test organisation (both Manual and Automation tests). Currently it’s not very optimized for testers according to my experience. Also it should be easier integration with other products.

Flexible and well integrated into Azure

Commentaires : I've used Azure DevOps to manage, deliver and deploy several software projects over the last five years. Once the workflow was customised and the deployment process implemented, the platform was a joy to use.

Avantages :

Azure DevOps is an excellent and highly flexible DevOps platform. Everything from task tracking through to system deployment. Highly extensible and customisable. Comparable to Jira in every way and in some respects a lot better. Certainly easy to start using.

Inconvénients :

Sometimes configuration involves some lower level YAML based configuration but usually the documentation is excellent and helpful.

Avantages :

The wide range of features and the superb quality of them is great. One suite of tools that you can take as much or as little as you need from with great pricing and cohesion.

Inconvénients :

Configuration can be a little clunky and some settings are hard to find

Commentaires : We have streamlined our sprints and our teams. we are accurately allocating the correct points per person and teams, while hitting our timelines.

Avantages :

It does take a little bit of time to familiarise yourself with this software, but when you do, boy do you get a lot of functionality. Deploying code directly from devops. Measure burn down. measure individuals or groups in terms of tasks, features, stories and epics. Accurately plan your sprints and track every detail.

Inconvénients :

While the software is actually easy to use, you need to spend a good amount of time playing around, making mistakes etc. But once that is out the way, its really good intuitive software.

Commentaires : We were wanting to get into Devops and this tool really helped us jumpstart.

Avantages :

It has a massive amount of plugins that allows you to increase the power of creating build and release pipelines.

Inconvénients :

Requires you to do a bit of learning before you jump in. Studied for five days before I became proficient

Cheap and Easy solution from MS

Commentaires : i like working with Azure DevOps. all my small and medium projects run on Azure DevOps but the industry is more aligned towards Jenkins but a great number of companies have started adopting it.

Avantages :

Easy integration with Azure Git Easy integration with Github Deployment support with AWS S3, EC2 Cloud front, etc Free feature

Inconvénients :

resources are very less to do certain complex deployment setup UI/ Process is complicated and needs a great deal of learning before setting it up. whereas its kind of easy with other products. but once setup its works are very smooth. another issue I don't like is they keep deprecating old frameworks so you are kind of forced to upgrade to a new version of apps.

Commentaires : It has proven to be our most reliable source control and project management tool whiteout which life would be very difficult.

Avantages :

I love the way Azure DevOps is formed around the idea of CI/CD. It provides you with the best and highest quality tools to define projects, break them down into PBIs and user stories, assign them to users and track the work items from a project owner/manager point of view. It allows developers to create repositories and pull request code into them with fantastic integration into almost all IDEs out there. DevOps engineers are also able to create build pipelines and deploy the releases to both on premise or Azure web app servers. Testing can be built straight into the pipelines as well which gives the benefit of deploying a robust and already tested release. Azure Artifacts gives you the ability to host your private NuGet repository and share them between projects. And all of these are just the tip of the iceberg!

Inconvénients :

There are cases that adding a user to an organization will encounter hiccups which only time and luck fixes it.

Mostly great DevOps, with a tad of frustration

Commentaires : Mostly very possitive. Though it can be very opinionated on expected usage, such hurdles can be easily overcome.

Avantages :

Great ticket tracking, with useful properties, all filterable and sortable and able to be made into useful dashboards. I especially like the markdown available on ticket descriptions and wiki.

Inconvénients :

It is opinionated about how it expect general usage will happen, which means it will enforce control which it thinks sensible but that (depending on your requirements) can become burdensome

TFS -- Collector of Source code

Avantages :

i have been working in product based company and we are using TFS from last 2-3 years . we are accessing TFS from the Visual studio. TFS helps to manage all the source code under one Shed and everyone can have access to the code based on Permission. Multiple user can access the same code at the same time. As for integration TFS also helps to Track the each line of code by tracing out its history or by annotation It helps us to find out the latest applied change very easily within few seconds .It always Remain in sync with the latest applied changes.

Inconvénients :

TFS Comes with a lot of features but it is visible to all irrespective of the user role. As for developer and for integrator which have different role see the same functionality ,which make some confusion It do not have Great User friedly UI , need to improve over there

This is a Great Tracking Tool

Commentaires : We love it. Personally, coming from a company that did not have a ticket management system like this, TFS has been an incredible tool.

Avantages :

The amount of data that you can capture in a ticket is incredible. Details about the issue, issue type, attachments, links to other tickets, code details, merge information, etc. We use this to manage all the work that our team does. We can easily view tickets and see their status. The search functionality is powerful as well as the reporting functionality.

Inconvénients :

TFS, or Azure DevOps Server, can be very overwhelming at first. There is a lot to take in for our new team members. Also the time tracking is not as robust as we would like. We use it, but are not fully able to realize the value that could be there.

Fantastic Project Management

Commentaires : Project planning and task management is much easier when it ties into our version control and build pipelines

Avantages :

It's easy to create stories, tasks and see what everyone is working on as a team There are great integrations with our build pipelines

Inconvénients :

Some integrations with 3rd party software created by team members who have left the company expire when their user is terminated requiring them to be setup again

Best version control tool or development tool

Commentaires : Working with TFS is great experience but need to make more friendly and with more functionalities.

Avantages :

Team foundation server is having some great features. Tracking of your work item where i can track my problem test or review very easily which is very helpful. Various integration of tool is really good and make your easily done. You can make deployment of problem or codes automation and track them according to them and easy sender can get email when you link your email.

Inconvénients :

After using TFS for almost 2+year i find check in for some good number of file takes long to deploy in server. Not highly user friendly it will really confusing for someone new.

An all-in-one ALM suite best suited for Agile methodology and Project management

Azure DevOps previously known as Visual Studio Team Services makes use of version control like TFS and Git and many other Microsoft tools like Visual Studio, SQL Server and Azure. As all products are by Microsoft, it is really simple to integrate them seamlessly and work with them efficiently. This tool can easily be used from small-scale to large business organizations that follow the agile methodology. It is really easy to also integrate 3rd party applications with Azure DevOps. It is an DevOps project that manages the entire SDLC and STLC life cycles simultaneously. It is easy to set up sprints, backlogs, plans and follow the hierarchy like Epic, Tasks, user stories, bugs, etc. This is highly reliable and secure. The user interface is remarkable and really easy to understand. It is easy to set user permissions and the overall control flow makes us love this tool a lot over JIRA and many others.

Inconvénients :

Frankly speaking, this is one of the best tools. However, slightly expensive on the pockets but worth the value.

Project management using Azure devops

Commentaires : Good if your organization is already using Microsoft products and have microsotf licenses. Otherwise please consider Jira or another tool.

Avantages :

Clear interfaces and easy to navigate. Can easily manage scrum teams.

Inconvénients :

Not that advanced. Need to purchase seperate license basic+ testing for QA purposes. Basically you have to spend a lot of money to get less features than Jira.

The Ultimate Platform For Software / Code Management And Far Beyond

Commentaires : Well, i use it everyday and it fulfills all my needs when it comes to manage my RPA Processes, new versions, check changes, it is marvelous in my opinion, my colleague uses it to manage software code that he writes on Visual Studio and it works perfect too.

Avantages :

It is perfect when it comes to manage our code versions, in my case i use it to manage my RPA processes developed using UiPath, it works flawlessly, a really must have. I mean most of the people use this to manage Code, but my point is that it is more than that. It is flexible and it is very easy to start using, i mean it is fast to learn. And another great thing is the compliance with AGILE methodology.

Inconvénients :

For now i don't see any major cons, but if you want to use it, and i totally recommend that maybe consider to get some training using tutorials to speed up.

Review for Azure Devops

Commentaires : I have used Azure Devops in my project regularly to run Cypress test scripts that were stored in Azure repo. Also, I had configured Junit reporting to make the reports more readable to the client. The reporting and dashboard view of the ADO was liked and appreciated by the client.

Avantages :

Azure Devops can be used to run automated test scripts using Azure Pipelines without any human intervention. Code stored in Azure Repo or other compatible repo can be executed using Azure Devops. Configuring the Azure Pipeline by providing all the installation, build and execution commands in a yaml file is a one time activity. This pipeline can now be run at required schedules. Also, various reporting features like Junit reporting, etc can be integration with Azure Pipeline runs to make the reports more readable and produce graphs of the passed and failed test scripts.

Inconvénients :

Training is required to start working on Azure Devops as it is bit complicated for people using ADO for the first time. The tool navigation is not user friendly. Also, there are performance issues with the tool at times.

Team foundation review

Commentaires : If I talk about the experiences I am very much satisfied with this software. We can easily track the problem history or can do code review easily before check in to main repository.

Avantages :

TFS IS useful software for code repository. Most I like that many developer can work on same time for one screen or problem. You can add work item for any problem to track or track the changes.

Inconvénients :

Fleaxibity to add the code to server or create maximum versions for different directory of codes. Most I like multiple people can work on same problem and can easily integrate code with different version and check in the code.

Azure Dev Ops - Manage your Projects efficiently

Commentaires : I was managing the overall RPA lifecycle with this tool. Be it different tollgate, bug tracking or having discussions, it is way too easy and user friendly.

Avantages :

This tool is super easy to use with amazing interface and quite customisable. You can manage the overall project lifecycle with this tool and it also helps you create insightful dashboards within ADO.

Inconvénients :

It has met all my needs and has never disappointed me but there is only one thing which I would like to improve is on its connectivity via Microsoft Excel.

Project and code management software

Commentaires : Best project management software for large projects and different teams working together.

Avantages :

Easiness to use, checking of code and logs of every change is recorded, manager can check each and every progress of the whole project under development and deployment and upgrade. Best to use for large projects and teams. Really good working with it.

Inconvénients :

As such no cons appears after using it for some time long.

An all-in-one code management tool

Commentaires : I've been working with this tool since it was only the Team Foundation Services, and it has a very important improvement in this transition to Azure Devops with the advantage that you don't need to integrate or consume azure services to get the funtionalities from it´s cloud version.

Avantages :

it has integrated a lot of features to manage code within microsoft development tools, from code versioning to Continious Integration / Continious Delivery.

Inconvénients :

Complete code management options like history, compare versions, inteligent merge, branch management.
