Cisco Meraki

5,0 il y a 8 mois

Avantages :

Great for a large range of businesses

5,0 il y a 2 ans

Commentaires : Overall we are pleased with our Meraki purchase and installation. We used a system integrator to obtain it but looking back we could have saved some money doing it ourselves but the quick onboarding and initial setup by the integrator ensured we got running quickly

Avantages :

Meraki is a cloud based product that controls on premises and remote hardware. The hardware is top of the line and includes all the functions you would expect from an exterprise offering. Given the broad number of options and the cloud based always updating nature of this product if fill many needs and be adopted by most organizations.

Inconvénients :

Some of the navigation takes some getting used to and I wish it would flow more but there are so many features that building a fluid navigation gets tough, even for Cisco. The graphing could also be better and offer additional options when you need more details but generally it will fill most needs.

Robust MDM platform used for management of iOS devices

5,0 il y a 3 ans

Commentaires : We started using Meraki SM when it was still being made available for free to small organizations. At the time, the system was simple, but provided us with what we needed. As the system grew and was improved upon, primarily as Apple released new management options for iOS devices, it became necessary for us to upgrade from the free platform to a paid subscription. The per-user pricing was very competitive, and the available management options were well worth the cost.

Avantages :

Setup of an enterprise MDM was made easy with Meraki SM. The web administration portal was easy to use, and offered us all of the functionality we needed initially, as well as has provided us the opportunity to increase our use over time. The platform is well designed, simple to use, and responsive. The app management solutions provided through SM are excellent, as well as the user/device options for license assignment and updating.

Inconvénients :

We have found the location mapping to be unreliable in Meraki SM, despite having our mobile devices all GPS enabled and configured to make location information available to the SM app. The location tracking tends to use cellular location based on IP addressing and tower locations rather than GPS coordinates provided by the device. Policy pushing over the air is hit or miss, and it can take multiple attempts to get a client device to receive the revised policies. The greatest restrictions of the Meraki MDM seem to lie with Apple not making as many centralized management options available as they should, since enterprise use of iOS doesn't seem to be on their list of priorities.

A cloud infrastructure that optimizes our services

4,0 le mois dernier Nouveau

Commentaires : There are many benefits of taking our network infrastructure to the cloud, operating costs, software licensing, hardware maintenance, security systems and disaster protection are some of the costs that reduces an organization with such implementation, on the other hand, accessibility from anywhere in the world and manage the network offers very broad possibilities for any IT team, Cisco Meraki in its various products has given us the ability to manage a wireless ecosystem deployed in a fairly large geographical area with the administration from the cloud, this allows us to detect anomalies in real time, view bandwidth consumption in a timely manner and a large number of functions that makes the administrative work of the network a little easier.

Avantages :

Cisco Meraki has allowed us to evolve our network infrastructure and the way we interact with this, there are clear details that make this a highly balanced, sustainable and accessible network, due to its on cloud environment has reduced locative, operational and maintenance costs associated with the equipment installed on these sites; aspects to highlight within the Meraki environment I can mention their equipment (Access Point) in our case, these are robust equipment, resistant to different outdoor environments, easy configuration (plug and play) and administration in the remote console, in addition, provides a wide range of data and metrics that are a very detailed basis for the management by our IT team in all the deployment of the infrastructure, Its clear and intuitive console has the functions at hand offering very fast possibilities to configure parameters such as SSID, MAC filtering (white and black list), bandwidth management either by SSID or by users, WEB content filtering, among others, possibilities like these make Cisco Meraki a very strong ally in our organization.

Inconvénients :

It should take into account the number of devices implemented in the network as it depends on the number of licenses to hire, although their individual cost is a bit high if you must take into account that this value is associated with some benefits of great help as some devices have a lifetime warranty while licensing is active, although in our cases the Access Point does not have this benefit I can guarantee that such equipment have a very striking performance in addition to withstand extreme operating conditions, so no negative comments so far I do not have.

Lots of promise but not enough focus on the core

3,0 il y a 4 ans

Commentaires : This software has great promise as an MDM solution but it lags behind other solutions. If you’re looking for free and iOS/Android this is for you. If you want to manage computers you may want to consider looking elsewhere. Systems Manager doesn’t scale well and provide advanced features.

Avantages :

This is a beautiful MDM solution that supports all platforms which is great. There are some features not found elsewhere that make it easy to integrate security functionality with Meraki’s networking stack. Want WPA2 enterprise with TLS? Systems manager makes this seamless.

Inconvénients :

Feature set prioritizes integration with Meraki stack. Features introduced by Apple or Microsoft at the OS level can take months if not years to finally be implemented. This can cause quite a lag as your user base upgrades. No real features to manage the patch level of devices aside from manually pushing updates each time. Licensing cost fluctuates frequently (it’s free, it’s paid, it’s mostly free but sometimes paid).

The most reliable solution for managing high-capacity wireless networks

5,0 il y a 4 mois

Commentaires : There are solutions that allow companies to reduce installation costs, maintenance of an entire IT infrastructure for the provision of services such as wireless access points to schools, universities, concert halls and parks; with Cisco Meraki all these operating costs are reduced to the maximum expression and you have the guarantee that the equipment used are of the highest quality withstanding extreme environmental and physical conditions and still providing very stable connections, with this we can say that Cisco Meraki is a step ahead in terms of wireless connection.

Avantages :

Our company focused its eyes on Cisco Meraki for several important reasons such as: minimum infrastructure costs since the implementation does not require the physical installation of advanced equipment or data centers since all the infrastructure is in the cloud, this also eliminates maintenance costs that operationally demanded a considerable investment, secure and highly reliable wireless networks capable of supporting connections under the 802.11 ac standard in the order of Gbps, management from a single central platform and accessible from anywhere in the world.

Inconvénients :

The total dependence of the MR devices to the internet connection limits a little the management of our operative personnel that performs the repairs in all the zones, it is clear that for the cases where the internet connection fails, the local access to the access point is operative but when it is required to implement some access policy or special configurations in some points, the access through the central console by an administrator is obligatorily required.

Avantages :

A single one-stop location for remote management of iOS and other mobile devices and other assets. In particular, monitoring and administrating iOS devices is challenging and this tool has saved countless hours in configuring and deploying and maintaining iPhones in our business.

Meraki a reliable, stable and centrally managed network

4,0 il y a 4 mois

Commentaires : Benefits of using a Meraki network are many, centralization of all devices, switches, firewall and in our case wifi access points, these have a stable radio signal emission power and ensuring the connection in the different wifi standart allowing to connect any kind of mobile devices from low to high range; in addition to having centralized management from the cloud that allows us to make adjustments to the settings from anywhere in the world with internet connection being reflected instantly on the monitored equipment, in conclusion a reliable network although a little expensive to implement but which is worth the investment.

Avantages :

Meraki has left a positive mark in our company due to its benefits and the experience that supports it, we have a large number of access points MR distributed in different areas of the city in parks, educational institutions, hospitals and each of them is monitored easily and remotely from the web; thanks to this we can analyze the capacity of connections, radio frequency channel in use, current wifi standard 802. 11 b/g/n/ac, also thanks to the power and stability in the signal emission of each MR we guarantee to the users a clean connection without interruptions that for some of the cases a stable connection is vital.

Inconvénients :

With the continuous expansion of our network also demands the inclusion of more MR devices, these are notoriously more expensive although comparing the cost/benefit ratio is worth the investment, however, one of the limitations for this type of network is its close dependence on the internet connection to perform advanced technical configurations on the devices, everything related to ACS configuration, MAC filtering (black or white list) as it does not allow such configurations locally limiting it to communication with the central administration.

Excellent solution for the management, supervision and administration of networks in the cloud.

5,0 il y a 4 mois

Commentaires : Cisco Meraki allowed us to manage and monitor securely and from the cloud about 60 access points that we have located in different specific areas of the city through a central console and in the same way we can solve in a short time any problems that may arise without the need to have to move our technicians to solve them, the user experience is really positive and beneficial.

Avantages :

We can easily configure, manage and monitor our free WIFI networks from a single panel 100% in the cloud, it is easy to add wireless access points to the central panel and exercise control, cisco Meraki allows me to regulate the bandwidth to provide, either by SSID, IP, among others, I can restrict access to specific pages, encrypt networks (AES, WPA, WPA-PSK, etc); our company provides a free service of WiFi Zones located in different parts of the city in parks, shopping malls and other common areas through access point MR18. The support provided is timely and efficient in any circumstance, they respond in a very short time to our requests; I like the advanced security features provided, last but not least, Cisco Meraki provides a very intuitive and modern user interface, in which you can navigate smoothly.

Inconvénients :

The purchase price of the equipment and licenses is expensive compared to other competing products but it is well worth the investment as the benefits are many.

Long Time Meraki Evangelist

5,0 le mois dernier Nouveau

Commentaires : Overall am happy with the products and services, their customer service in particuar has always gone above and beyond when it was needed.

Avantages :

I have been utilizing Meraki from before they were acquired by Cisco, and I believe the product has only gotten better. The ease of management and ability to oversee multiple locations, on top of a plethora of features any SMB would need has made me happy in my continued use of their products. The notifications of connection loss and the ability to remote configure devices is unparalleled in my experience.

Inconvénients :

I do believe their pricing is quiet high, along side a license model that would brick your device if you no longer pay for it does leave a sour taste in some mouths, I've also found it to be lacking in some granular firewall policies compared to more purpose built products such as Juniper's firewalls.

Meraki for MDM and Wireless

4,0 l’année dernière

Commentaires : Overall we're very happy. Deployments are easy and not having to support controllers has been helpful, although controller based systems do have their advantages. MDM has helped us maintain better control and tracking over our mobile assets.

Avantages :

the ease of use is great. Deployment is straight forward for Meraki devices. MDM management is not extremely intuitive, but in fairness this is our first MDM product. Consoles are easy to navigate. For the price it is an effective product.

Inconvénients :

Licensing is a bit confusing, Menu in the management console could use a little improvement, more streamlined, reporting is very lacking.

Plenty of Features when they work

4,0 il y a 4 ans

Commentaires : It gives us what we wanted from a MDM with a good price, functionality and features. Having it share the same management screens as our APs, routers and switches is a huge bonus in managing devices. But blacklisting of software seems to be the only consistently working part with software as deployment and whitelisting is not very reliable.

Avantages :

It is very easy to setup and start using. It has a lot of functions that can you can see in more expensive products but all cloud based and managed. Having no on premise foot print is great and it has the same dashboard as our Meraki devices we manage. We do not need to switch to check or update the status of devices. This does device inventory and deployment of software. Can find where devices are and who is logged in to them.

Inconvénients :

The MDM for managing the installation and whitelisting of software is poor. We would approve software for users but then when an update to the app happens we would need to approve the app again. We have used the setting to keep the app approved for all updates but it does not work. Force installing the software is not reliable at all.

Great fully-featured cross-platform MDM solution

5,0 il y a 5 ans

Commentaires : We needed a basic iOS MDM for about 50 iPads, and Meraki SM fit the bill with their Free 100 device plan. In a space where most iOS MDMs are the same in features and in price, Systems Manager has unique features like Tags, and allows us to expand our management to Android and Windows, which we will most certainly be taking advantage of in the future.

Avantages :

-Aggregation of MDM policies across iOS, macOS, Android, and Windows platforms make it really easy to deploy the same setting, such as screen lock, to multiple platforms without drilling the per-platform settings -Supports all iOS MDM settings and is quick to implement new ones as Apple introduces them -Tagging system is incredibly useful to identify and organize different devices - this is unique to Meraki -Although we don't have Meraki networking products - they can all be managed from the same dashboard -Just like most MDM platforms, it offers easy web-based device registration, and syncs with Apple VPP and School Manager

Inconvénients :

-Web management dashboard has a steep learning curve and is not very intuitive - a task like deploying a new app to devices involves three or four different management pages -Pricing is comparable, if not a bit more expensive than other iOS MDMs, but its cross-platform support makes up for this

Meraki is easier than regular Cisco Wireless.

5,0 il y a 5 ans

Avantages :

1) Consolidated management of all of our Meraki devices at different location. 2) You can use same configuration template for all or multiple locations. 3) Cisco meraki's keeping up with new vulnerability game is really good. 4) You can use MX devices for SD-WAN which is much more simpler than regular Cisco CLI devices.

Inconvénients :

1) If you are using template based deployment then your guest ambassador account can't delete user accounts for wireless. 2) Like many other cloud solution, there is a lack of granularity & fear of compromise.

Easiest to use network management

5,0 il y a 3 ans

Commentaires : It does the Job, is powerful has several options, but is expensive and the web interface needs some work.

Avantages :

In the company we have several of this Meraki Access Points, to add them to the account was easy and manage them were ok, it has a ton of options including Air Marshal to remove non authorized networks on your company.

Inconvénients :

Adding whitelisted devices could be simpler sometimes I get confused and add the device twice since there was not feedback of the device being added, it just shows up once is connected to the network, that way you cannot see if it was added successfully, Is expensive compare to solutions from Fortinet, some companies went with them and have a great experience but paying less money.

Meraki Systems Manager

3,0 il y a 4 ans

Commentaires : Overall, Meraki will give you what you need and want. The service and product itself is good, and you do get what you pay for. The convenience alone is enough reason to recommend it Meraki.

Avantages :

Meraki is easy to set up and use, and is cloud based. It has a fairly decent set of features, including management of profiles and security. Meraki is very organized, everything is readily available on the dashboard for you. The ability to see who is logged into what device and where saves a lot of worry and stress.

Inconvénients :

It can be a little pricey. The app could use some updating for it's features. Updates can run slow, but they are not unbearable.
