Commentaires : Very good for our use case. We don't have a data engineer and want to transfer data from few places into BigQuery

Avantages :

very easy to set up. Covers 95% of cases and with python you can cover another 4%... just 1% left that you can do at source or destination.

Inconvénients :

lack CI/CD tools to do infra as code. Hard (if even possible) to back it up. Not useful logs.

GOOD DATA LOADER WITH GREAT CUSTOMER SUPPORt

Commentaires : Thanks to Hevo I have all my data replicated into a Snowflake and I am reporting everything using Tableau. Also, I am feeding my CRM with daily fresh data. I achieved all this with Hevo as a Data Loader and without having to code any integration.

Avantages :

I think overall is a great tool and the features are very complete. For instance, I can target my CRM to feed data into it. Also, they have lots of integrations available that helps replicating data from different sources.

Inconvénients :

Sometimes some data pipelines break because of problems on the Hevo side. This is annoying because you would expect that if you don't change anything on your side, everything would run smoothly... But anyway, customer support is very fast and the solve all the issues in no time.

Quick customer support and constantly evolving features

Avantages :

As a person with little ETL experience, Hevo made the process of building pipelines from various sources seamless. When I run into any issues, their customer support team is quick to respond and usually resolves my issue on the spot. If not, they escalate the issue which also gets a quick response.

Inconvénients :

Some features are a little tricky to implement at times, like manual mapping, feature transformation. But I'm usually able to get assistance from customer support.

Good product for small data sets

Commentaires : Their customer support team is great with quick turnaround time.

Avantages :

Easy to setup and no/low code approach is what works for someone just starting with Data engineering.

Inconvénients :

reliability has been a concern with Hevo with downtimes, bugs, corner cases and missed events. It doesn't seem to work well at scale.

Commentaires : If you need an easy way to bring some data into your data warehouse, I definitely recommend going with Hevo. They are a great value, have good documentation, and are easy to use! We have a small data team so this has saved us a lot of time versus developing custom connectors or dealing with other more complex softwares (such as Informatica, Talend, etc).

Avantages :

Good support. Easy to use. Basic connectors and functionality just work. We were able to quickly load several data sources to our Snowflake data warehouse to replace our previous workflows.

Inconvénients :

Some connectors are still in Beta but support is helpful in answering questions and resolving any issues. Also, some things you need to do a certain way for the connector (example - when bringing data in from S3 and FTP you need to have different events in separate folders), but I think the ease of use makes up for that versus a heavier weight software and they add new functionality often.

I appreciates Hevo's user-friendly dashboard, automated error handling, and ability to customize and monitor data transfer. After a few weeks of using Hevo, we have noticed a significant improvement in our team's ability to consolidate and analyze data, enabling us to generate reports and insights more quickly and accurately, leading to better business decisions.

Avantages :

Simple and Intuitive Interface : Way too easy to use .Seamless Integration with Multiple Sources : Integration with almost every possible tool. Real-time Data Transfer.Automated Error Handling and Also showing where the pipeline is failing and what is the reason behind it.

Inconvénients :

Data transformation needs to have some helping tutorial . Appending data and taking whole data snapshot should have some toggle.

Automating Data Pipelines has never been easier

In terms of service itself, reliability, customer support.

Avantages :

It has suited all our needs. - The most critical part was reading Oplog from production MongoDB replica. - Cleaning PII and sensitive data on the fly before loading to DWH - Wide range of sources and even Webhooks (any arbitrary source)

Inconvénients :

I might only add Hevo is constantly evolving. I participate in proposing new useful features from my PoV.

Hevo data for Extraction and Loading to Snowflake

Commentaires : Very Pleasing. I set it up once and I don't have to worry about it again.

Avantages :

Simple and effective hassle free table syncing between Cloud VM SQL Server and Snowflake DWH.

Inconvénients :

Getting Hevo white listed with other vendors such as FTP sites is the first big hurdle. Sometimes I'd like to have it sync a view from my source system but it struggles with this. Instead I make it sync the source tables of the view.

Best self serve, budget friendly ETL tool

Commentaires : Overall I find HEVO a nice and budget-friendly ETL tool in the market with nice UI and connectors

Avantages :

Hevo supports a lot of connectors, plus ease of integration with them and a nice documentation to self configure it

Inconvénients :

Sometimes it lags a lot in the case of the Postgres replication slot, it should be fixed, also there should be notifications on slack in case an OLTP to OLAP pipeline lags more than the threshold.

Hevo - The best EtLT and ELT tool

Commentaires : overall my experience is good, we are ingesting data with fb ads, and google adsense, and instagram and salesforce

i really like the nice and easy UI to setup pipeline, apart from it I really like their schema mapper function also the latest transformation drag and drop UI

Inconvénients :

I don't like that they don't do data qc or do not provide feature to setup data quality rules like glue and databricks does

easy interface for non-data engineers to build and maintain data pipelines.

Inconvénients :

the cost has increased steeply in the last 1 year to 3.5x.

Literally just few clicks and data will start flowing.

Commentaires : Its an awesome product. Really very good one to get started with very little friction.

Avantages :

The things which I most like about Hevo is the automation level in the product. Hevo will take care of everything from source mapping to destination mapping with just a few clicks. It has many useful features, be it table/column auto-mapping , resizing and basic transformations for complex data sources like Mongo where you want to flatten the nested data.

Inconvénients :

Alarm feature can be little more intuitive.

An Amazing ETL tool

Commentaires : We are using hevo to get Data seamlessly from our transactional DB to our datawarehouse. Hevo is reliable and plays an important part in our data pipelines.

Avantages :

The best thing I like about Hevo is the ease of use and the integrations that are avaialble for multiple sources, which makes the ETL seamless.

Inconvénients :

In Schema Mapper/Overview tab in each pipeline, an option to skip muliple collections at a time using a check box might be a good feature which will be very helpful for us, otherwise its now taking lot of manaul effort to skip them if needed in a pipeline.

Reliable, easy-to-use and good price/performance ratio

Commentaires : Hevo won our lengthy product comparison against other leading tools like Stitch Data, Fivetran, Matillion, etc. They provide best-of-breed usability, scale, reliability and latency. Their monitoring, schema mapping, error handling and replay capabilities are excellent. We are supporting near real-time reporting in a Snowflake warehouse thanks to Hevo's streaming replication from RDS MySQL.

Avantages :

Hevo's interface is well designed, so that it is straight-forward to set up many pipelines. Unlike other tools, they do not force us into their own standards, for example for naming tables. The service is reliable and performant, including at scale. The team also consists of nice people who have been very friendly and helpful.

Inconvénients :

We have no complaints. Hevo's MySQL binlog replication works well for us.

A really good player in this field

Commentaires : Overall good, from meeting to implementation. The Admin interface is very well built.

Avantages :

We decided to shop around for a new solution because our current provider decided to raise their prices significantly. Hevodata checked all the boxes.

Inconvénients :

When we first started out, our BigQuery costs went up, but we were able to mitigate that by changing the frequency.

Commentaires : it's overall a very good experience working with Hevo. Hevo support is very helpful in case of any failure.

Avantages :

Creating new data pipelines in Hevo is very easy and super fast. We need to just give connection details and boom!!! pipeline is ready to use within minutes.

Inconvénients :

Hevo should give detailed information about each run like when did exactly it start and end to calculate the overall time taken.

Hevo - Big Data Flows Simplified!

Commentaires : All interactions with Hevo have been world class - seems like a team that are going places.

Avantages :

Easy to use, even for a novice. You can have your data being aggregated from various sources, and dumped into a DB of your choice - Allowing you to get going on building reports FAST!

Inconvénients :

The Trial period could have been a little longer than 7 Days, I would have preferred a month (I did manage to get a further 7 day extension on the trial though).

Great product but expensive

Avantages :

Hevodata has been one of the easiest data pipelines integration that I have used. It’s very easy to get started and setup your pipelines.

Inconvénients :

The web UI is still a bit buggy and the logs need to be more verbose. It is very difficult to figure out why, if any, issues are there with your data pipeline.

Hevo as a ETL tool

Commentaires : We have been learning how to use the tool, perhaps Hevo specialist can provide customized courses to improve (best practices) to use Hevo more efficiently

Intuitive and Effective

Avantages :

It was really easy to set up both on our Mongo Atlas and Amazon Aurora connections where other services failed.

Inconvénients :

There's no possibility to schedule a pipeline job based on a specific time of the day, eg: run this job at 01:00 AM every day
