En savoir plus sur iClicker
Solution d'engagement des étudiants qui permet aux conférenciers de participer et de sonder leur public via ordinateur portable, téléphone ou clicker.
The remotes themselves, while they function well, are pricey and very basic in their use. Other methods of engagement such as through the app are better.
Iclickers would sometimes have issues clicking in. And registering the ivlicker was also a bit difficult at first.

Finally a polling option for students without technical problems!
Commentaires : Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend it to any educator looking to have a way to monitor class participation
Avantages :
I used iClicker throughout my entire undergrad education as a way to monitor attendance as well as for in-class participation. There were never any technical difficulties that I have experienced with other polling software. I would say to any professor or teacher that wants to use this type of technology in the classroom, iClicker is probably the best option out there.
Inconvénients :
I cannot think of any cons that are significant. The only thing is that if multiple professors use the program you have to ensure that your students are on the right channel or else it won't count their participation. But this is super easy to check and fix if they are not on the right channel.
Effective for group response
Commentaires : While iClickers can be tough to remember to bring to class, I never had a problem once I made a point to always carry it in my bag. It is a reliable tool, and I never had problems with it. I prefer it to online softwares such as Hotseat because it does not require internet connectivity.
Avantages :
This is an easy-to-use and reliable machine. I have used it for four years now and have had no problems: I just keep it in my backpack and pull it out when it is needed. It is robust enough to stand being tossed about in my back, and I rarely have to change the batteries. It always connects to the servers and I am confident when my answer is submitted.
Inconvénients :
The process of changing the response frequency for different classes was a hassle (from AA to AB, etc.) but I completely understand why it is necessary. Occasionally, I forgot to change it and lost points for attending a particular lecture; this was frustrating, but I understand that it was my own mistake.
iClicker: Basic functionality, not much else
Avantages :
There are multiple ways to engage with students using this. The remotes themselves, while they function well, are pricey and very basic in their use. Other methods of engagement such as through the app are better.
Inconvénients :
Functionality is very basic with the remote, especially for the cost of the product. For something as expensive as it is I would like more functionality than just a few buttons for responses.
Simple to use and quick to gather data
Avantages :
It is very quick and simple to set up. All you need is a room code to join. The controls are the remote are very simple
Inconvénients :
The older remotes don't have screens which puts some students at a disadvantage. The software also tended to crash
Classroom need
Commentaires : I would say my overall experience with the iclicker was great. It helped for a more focused review when studying for exams.
Avantages :
The ease of this is what I liked most about this software. We used this for every day for in class quizzes, results are displayed and give immediate feedback.
Inconvénients :
What I liked least about this software is that. I don't have the data available to me so I can go back and review the questions I missed
More engaged students
Avantages :
It helps students become more engaged in class and to help reinforce concepts. It is a good way to check for understanding of the materials.
Inconvénients :
It is a little expensive for students to purchase the iClickers because students have to have their own individual clickers in class. Responses are only limited to multiple choice questions and cannot enter in free response.
Works as expected
Commentaires : Overall it worked good and was fun to use at school.
Avantages :
I used Iclicker all the time in college. It worked as it was supposed to. Fun way to get the class involved.
Inconvénients :
Iclickers would sometimes have issues clicking in. And registering the ivlicker was also a bit difficult at first.
All-in-one; Interactive, supportive, and neat!
Avantages :
I use this in my classroom where I had students interactively participate in my questions, or I also use it for attendance-taking. ALL IN ONE!
Inconvénients :
You may need to customize the frequency so that others who are using this can match to your system. The software doesn't really remind you.
Perfect for large seminars
Avantages :
I love how easy it is to receive immediate feedback for large seminars.
Inconvénients :
There have been glitches or issues with connectivity.
Great tool to learn with or vote with
Avantages :
I like that you can create any type of questions to use the iClicker system with. You can use this as an educational tool to help quiz people on questions that they should know and memorize or simply use it as a voting tool for surveys.
Inconvénients :
The software itself is okay but the Clicker itself is a little expensive since every single person needs one to participate.
Useful tool for classroom use but ease of use is initially low
Avantages :
iClicker allows for a more engaging classroom experience between students and teachers. I strongly feel that utilizing this resource in classes creates a stronger learning experience and greatly benefits students during lectures.
Inconvénients :
Many professors struggle with adapting to this software. While it is useful and easy once you get the hang of it, the initial understanding of the program seems to take some time with staff.
Made the classroom interesting
Avantages :
This was great technology for the classroom. They were cheap and easy to use, both for students and professors. It made classes interactive and good for going over possible test questions and hypotheticals. Good for debate and collaboration.
Inconvénients :
Out of classes of hundreds of people, maybe a few clickers went bad. Could have been the battery life.
Great for groups
Commentaires : This has been a great product that has a good price point. We can get quick feedback in meetings and presentations.
Avantages :
I like that this makes it easy to interact with a large group and get quick results to responses.
Inconvénients :
We have had them glitch a few times and some of our group is unable to use, but that is not too often.
Engaging Tool
Commentaires : It was a fun way to get people involved and to measure the understanding of the class.
Avantages :
I loved the involvement of the class when iClickers were used. It allowed the participants to not be shy and make their best guess. It gave people the freedoms to learn.
Inconvénients :
There were some instances of the results not being captured or the program wouldn’t sync up with the students.
loved it
Avantages :
i started using this software this year for in-class multiple choice questions to assess student's knowledge of the content, and it worked great. i especially loved how it showed a bar graph with percentages of students that chose a particular answer
Inconvénients :
i have no complaints about this software at all
love it!
Avantages :
as a student, i had to use iclicker for my courses for multiple choice quizzes in class and the instant feedback regarding the percentages of students that chose a particular answer let us know which areas we had to focus on more
Inconvénients :
i have no complaints about iclicker at all
iclicker
Avantages :
used in class to provide feedback to the professor regarding a question
Inconvénients :
when not used for a while, will disconnect from internet
Great for school use
Avantages :
I used this for school and it was great. It is great to have real time quizzes and responses
Inconvénients :
some times it glitched out during a class which made it frustrating.
Easy to use polling software
Avantages :
It is easy to setup and use and has a variety of question formats for polling. The anonymous mode is great to get students to answer sensitive questions.
Inconvénients :
The only con is that the iclicker software itself could be more of a distraction that benefit to students.
iClicker Review
Avantages :
- allows for testing of knowledge within a large group/class (like Kahoot, but better) - provides immediate feedback regarding responses - allows for different options of multiple choice questions or short answer
Inconvénients :
- pausing the lecture to vote takes away from class time, using time and energy to reconnect to iClicker and vote
iClicker review
Avantages :
fantastic software, my teacher uses this in my microbiology class to see how many students in the class know the content after teaching
Inconvénients :
people complain about the internet connectivity because it sometimes disconnects after we don't use it for a long time and then we miss answering the question
iclicker review
Avantages :
this software was used for my microbiology course where students would be quizzed on certain concepts/topics throughout the lecture, which was very useful
Inconvénients :
often the connection whether via PC or mobile device would cut out randomly and sometimes i would miss answering the question
iclicker review
Avantages :
i like how this software provides a neat, succinct bar graph for the percentages of people that chose a particular question
Inconvénients :
i don't like how the mobile application lags more than using the software on a laptop
iclicker review
Avantages :
instant feedback from class regarding percentage of students who chose a specific answer for multiple choice questions
Inconvénients :
stopping lectures for polling and voting can be slightly distracting
iclicker
Avantages :
