Avantages :

Bon logiciel de machine virtuelle, qui permet de faire beaucoup d'autres actions en plus de la virtualition des systèmes d'exploitation

Aucun inconvénients trouvé lors de l'utilisation

tres bon produits pour reduire les pc par contre le pc doit etre performant de ram et de precesseur

A powerful for running virtual machines

Commentaires : I've been using VirtualBox for more than 10 years mostly for running isolated environments for development purposes and my overall experience is very positive despite the fact that there are many bugs from time to time. Especially on macOS.

Avantages :

I love the fact that it's free and open source. It also has a big community support.

Inconvénients :

The setup process can be intimidating for beginners.

Avantages :

Easy to deploy new machines in no mater what your original desktop system comes from; you can virtualize a bunch of Linux, MacOS, Windows machines and ChromeOS & Android too!

Inconvénients :

In a Windows Server environment, the Virtual machines can't start when booting the main Server OS (only after you login with Administrator credentials) and you need the help of third party programs to do that. In Linux environment is easier to deploy thanks to Cron.

Cannot be taken as a professional tool

Commentaires : Since I was an student this has been the same tool, around 5 years ago. I hasn't evolved and introduced up to date features

It's free to use and offers basic Virtual machine configurations

I'm not able to do a lot of things that many other virtual machine managers can.

Recommended to Beginners to Professionals

Commentaires : Recommend to everyone who is new to Virtual Machines, I personally use it to run Ubuntu regularly to work with my Project Files.

Avantages :

That this is free and open source. It contains lots of customizable features for running various VMs from the ISO files of the OSes, and is pretty easy to set up. Since it is very popular, it also has a lot of tutorials available online for customizations or while facing any errors.

Inconvénients :

The Guest Additions doesn't work properly with all the OSes, and also sometimes changing the screen size/resolution of the VM running might create an issue like flickering.

The most convenient and feature rich visualization software package

Commentaires : Allows me to create separate secure virtual environments for various testing and user oriented applications without being tied to any specific hardware which makes migration and distribution very easy and convenient. I've been using the system for years and have been very satisfied with the performance, features and ease of use.

Avantages :

A cost effective solution for running multiple virtual machines and OSes. Great for testing and using various operating OSes while using shared hardware. Easy to set up and maintain. Very useful for creating remotely accessible virtual environments for multiple users. Easy local and remote backups and rollback functions. Very convenient and customizable management interface.

Inconvénients :

The only thing that I would like to be implemented in future versions would be integrated multiple cloud platform synchronization and management but there are plenty of 3rd party applications that accomplish the year so not really much of an issue but would be convenient to have everything in a single integrated package.

Oracle VirtualBox: Basic OS Virtualization that needs Improvement

Commentaires : Good experience but definitely would use VMWare for professional virtualization tasks.

Avantages :

I used VirtualBox to run Linux and Windows OSes on top of my OSX MAC for the sake of testing networking and database software and for developing client/server applications. The nice thing about VirtualBox is its free license that makes it a cost-effective choice for users who want to test with new OSes and software. The virtualization performance is decent with some lagging when testing newer versions of Linux with more advanced GUI desktops. Definitely VirtualBox has a lot of limitations that I will mention in the Cons sectionl

Inconvénients :

Many limitations make VirtualBox lag behind its main competitor VMWare Fusion (on a MAC) or VMWare Workstation (on Windows). The USB support is not enabled and requires a lot of configuration to make it work. The installation of the VM tools to provide a better resolution to the guest OS is also not that intuitive. This makes VMWare a much better alternative for serious developers/testers. The networking support also has some bugs especially when using the NAT network feature.

Commentaires : As for my overall experience with oracle virtual box, it is literally positive with its ease of use, versatility, powerful features, cross-platform compatibility, free at no cost and open-source.

I like most about oracle virtual box are 1. ease of use with user-friendly interface, simple to setup and manage VMs. 2. compatibility with a wide range of guest operating systems and host platforms. 3. the availability of virtual box is free at no cost and its open-source are highly valued.

Inconvénients :

I dislike about virtual box is graphics performance within guest operating systems can be a particular area of concern.

Commentaires : I've been using VirtualBox to run virtual machines to deploy web apps and other software.

Avantages :

Features to import and export virtual machines, check logs for errors, running multiple virtual machines at the same time.

Inconvénients :

Since VirtualBox runs virtual machines, it consumes more resources and my device got slower when using it.

I love virtual box because of the following reason 1. Free to use 2. Supports windows, Linux and Mac Guest addons helps seamless movement between physical and virtual devices and supports copying files between physical and virtual host. You can also create shared folder between physical and virtual devices. Supports USB controller that enables you to connect your webcam or any usb devices to virtual host. You can create snapshot for taking backup of your virtual hosts.

Inconvénients :

Its not as fast as VMWare workstation Consumes heavy CPU User interface needs lot of improvement as i am seeing the same interface for almost 10+ years.

Avantages :

Having multiply options to tweak the settings as required including mounting VHD. It is very easy to configure and get an test environment up and running with low resources. Does not have all the complicated unnecessary requirements I have seen in other products

Inconvénients :

Occasionally have had the virtual box machine blue screen rather than just the environment crash or freeze. Which is not ideal if running more than one environment at a time

Commentaires : My overall experience with VirtualBox has been really great, management of instances without downtime has been one of the benefits i enjoy.

What I like the most about Virtual Box is the ability to maintain two instances of virtual machines isolated from one another, That's just the best and the configuration management of the instances is just splendid.

I think more hardware integrated with the host machine could be worked on.

Easy to tool for testing Applications or Software

Commentaires : For a Self testing at home, or a quick set up for work testing, VirtualBox is easy to get up and running on your current system without needing a bare bones system for install and setup

Easy to use UI. Easy to get start with creating the needed VM setup for your testing with Windows and Unix OSes

Inconvénients :

Against services like Proxmox or VMware, there is a lot that is wanted for a hypervisor. And does require a UI for most deployments for handling the VMs

Commentaires : VirtualBox is a solid tool for virtualization, allowing us to run and distribute entire Linux boxes to our students or other researchers easily.

Avantages :

It was effortless to set-up machines using wildly different Linux distributions and Windows versions. Seldomly crashing and able to run heavy workloads with simulated peripherals, VirtualBox is my go-to choice for virtualization.

Inconvénients :

It would be nice to be able to change all hardware parameters of the machine at runtime, though it is a rather rare requirement.

in our business we have to use one system called ERP , works in windows 7 so instead of rebooting a new laptop with a different Windows we only use virtual box .

Commentaires : There is no need for all unnecessary and tedious configuration settings. It is installed in a few steps and you can start creating virtual machines immediately. resource consumption is very low and efficiency is at the highest level. its simplicity and tools menu allows you to quickly do all the operations in one place.

Inconvénients :

If you are afraid of virtualization, try VirtualBox. It puts an end to all fears and confusion. If you do not choose a powerful hardware for your configurations, you may experience sluggishness and slowdown performance issues. Therefore, it will be beneficial to choose the hardware well.

VirtualBox is the Perfect Alternative to Running Linux via Live USB

Avantages :

What I like most is that it’s equipped to work within Windows operation system and doesnt require going into the bios to rearrange boot up option having to dual boot from a live usb running a Linux OS

Inconvénients :

It’s a bit lagging and persistence isn’t very reliable.
