Plateforme flexible et évolutive

5,0 il y a 7 mois

Avantages :

For all applications

5,0 il y a 4 ans

Commentaires : My API and database is in heroku, in free mode, and meets the requirements well. Fully integrated with git, after each commit + push the service is automatically restarted with updates.

Avantages :

It is highly scalable, starting with a free version and then scaling up as needed. Deploying and Continuing Integration is very useful as well as being integrated with git, keeping your master up to date.

Inconvénients :

Sometimes I get confused about the real usefulness of each tab in web configurations, but it is something that is little used, does not disturb.

Easy to Use and Highly Flexible - A Winning Combination

5,0 il y a 8 mois

Commentaires : I have been using Heroku for a few years now and have found it to be a great platform for quickly building and deploying applications. It is easy to use, highly flexible, and can easily scale as needed. The only downside is the cost, but for many applications it is well worth it.

Avantages :

Heroku is a great platform for building and deploying applications quickly and easily. The user interface is intuitive and easy to use, and the service itself is highly flexible and powerful. With the ability to easily scale applications as needed, Heroku is a great choice for those who need a reliable and flexible platform.

Inconvénients :

The only downside to Heroku is the cost. For larger applications, the cost of hosting can be quite high. Additionally, some features such as database backups and monitoring can be expensive to add on.

Excellent Platform as a service provider with good support!

5,0 il y a 2 mois

Commentaires : We have greate Experience with Heroku till now, we have deployed multiple Web-apps through Heroky and they all are running smoothly without any issues. i would highly recommend heroku, they also have few service available for free so one can use it to test their system or can use it to test the Web-app performance.

Avantages :

Heroku is a trusted PAAS provider Available in the market, they support Variety of Programming Languages and databases. one can easily integrate it with any other third party Source control or versioning control software to track the source code and other things. We can use it to deploy modern Web-Application written in various programming languages.

Inconvénients :

Heroku is a great service provider till now but it is bit expensive at other side, they provides Quality support though but services could be little cheaper. they supports lots of software and tools but i didnt find the comprehensive Documentation to integrate the tools and services they should add documentation for those.

Go Somewhere Else!

1,0 il y a 3 ans

Commentaires : Heroku has refused to dialogue despite us giving them several chances over the half of the decade. So they've blown it. So time to say our official good byes.

Avantages :

Not really anything that stood out too much.

Inconvénients :

We have a long list but will give the short story. We are never coming back to this company again for multiple reasons which we addressed to them several times for the past 4-5 years. Employees completely blew us off, and if they even did answer on some rare occassion, they woud send out derogatory and antagonistic communications. This group refused to use phone, so the limited accessbility was only with email, when they would always pickle us back and forth to differing departments, not finding any solutions for us. Although we continued to warn them that if they do not improve their prices, features, and attitude and professionalism, they still ignored us. So a promise is a promise: they are never getting a single email from me ever again, although they still send me antagonistic emails to us, rather than simply helping us- you know, the ones paything THEM for their salaries. They are so lucky to have their jobs still? They don't even deserve to be in the workforce! And to this day, they still insist on sending harassing emails to us despite the fact that we have now officially blocked them TWICE. And they wonder why they don't get respect from us. Treat us like your toilets, Heroku had better believe they will have to suffer the consequences and then some. Trust and respect are earned, not given. Good bye and best of luck to you. Go somewhere else. This group is full of harassers! And that's unethical behavior on their part.

Save time, save money

5,0 il y a 3 mois

Commentaires : Heroku is a time and money saver for every startup that needs to deploy fast without having a team for it. We saved invaluable resources just knowing that in one click, everything would keep up to date.

Avantages :

Heroku lets us avoid the hassle of setting our own servers, configure and update them. It saves a lot of time and enforces good practices.

Inconvénients :

The PaaS paradigm can give less flexibility. There are workarounds, but you better rethink how you send mails, store local files or program a CRON.

Heroku is still one of the simplest and best out there

5,0 il y a 5 mois

Avantages :

Configuring and deploying a system is still about as simple as it's possible to be, their add-ons market makes creating and managing your infrastructure trivial, and the simple push-to-deploy mechanism makes releasing new versions easy.

Inconvénients :

The only downside to Heroku is the price can grow faster than you might expect - though personally I don't mind this as the amount we save on not having our own devops team easily makes it worthwhile. I can see this being more of an issue for companies who have both an in house team and a Heroku instance.

Best Place to run node.js for backend work

5,0 il y a 11 mois

Commentaires : Overall, my experience with Heroku has been good. They offer great service and are always improving their offerings. The documentation is excellent and the support is responsive. I haven't had any major issues with using Heroku. They make it easy to get my app up and running quickly and easily. The documentation is great and the support team is responsive and helpful.

Avantages :

First, it is very easy to use and set up. You can get your app up and running in just a few minutes. Second, it has great documentation and support. If you have any problems, you can usually find a solution in the Heroku docs or on the Heroku support site. And finally, Heroku is always adding new features and improving their platform. I also liked the ease of use and the concise documentation.

Inconvénients :

The least liked thing about Heroku is the way it charges for resources. For example, if you want to keep your app running continuously, you have to pay for a dyno (virtual machine) every month. This can add up quickly if you have multiple apps or need to run multiple dynos simultaneously.

Deployment of a machine learning as a service

5,0 il y a 7 mois

Commentaires : The overall experience were good, I was able to deploy my environment and connect it on an application. I had hard time with libraries imcompatibilities, but it was fixed during the implementation.

Avantages :

It's graphical resources are very intuitive with easy "step by step" procedures. Their log service helped me go through issues and solve them.

Inconvénients :

It could keep a free tier for small business like mine. I just have a POC and I have to pay to use it, as long as I know.

Heroku used to be free

4,0 le mois dernier Nouveau

Commentaires : I’ve had a great experience in the past with heroku. Due to its changes I’ve decided to not deploy as much on that platform

Avantages :

I like that heroku can be integrated with our GitHub account and via the cli I can update my deployed code.

Inconvénients :

That heroku went to a paid platform when it used to be a great tool for free code development. I also don’t like that some apps take a while to run on the platform unlesss you pay for a larger dyno

New to cloud development? Heroku is a great place to start with low startup cost to scale up

4,0 il y a 2 mois Nouveau

Commentaires : Mostly positive. Before steering folks towards Azure/AWS, I would refer them to try out Heroku first to wet their feet.

Avantages :

I was up and running in about an hour. I didn't understand very much about cloud ops, or deployments in the cloud and they made it simple enough to use--even interesting. I love the company behind Heroku; their vision is leading the CI/CD industry with affordable and scalable web development.

Inconvénients :

Dynamos were just plain confusing. Coming as someone from a pure client/server architecture background who'd never worked in the cloud, it seemed a little scary. Heroku (at the time ) didn't offer a lot of training or documentation on how their pay-to-play model worked. Thankfully, they had a free tier, but I'm not sure it's around anymore :(

A Nice Hosting Option

4,0 il y a 3 ans

Commentaires : Heroku is a good option for those looking a potential hosting service for their apps, and not only are the base and free options well-fleshed out, and the pricing is not egregious. While one has to be sure to take the time to learn Heroku, not only their web app but also their CLI, that's expected, and they make sure they provide a lot of resources for newcomers. I continue to use Heroku and hope to test them in larger scale apps in the future,

Avantages :

Heroku is a good hosting option for one's own apps. Being able to support several different languages is also a big plus of not having to worry about moving different code bases and still being able to work with Heroku. Upon creation, adding a project to Heroku does take a bit of work but when it definitely gets going, it does feel good and pushing updates doesn't take long for them to get running with the Github integration, which is a massive QoL addition within Heroku. Within apps there a lot of options that one can work with, even with the free plan and give lots of information to be able to track how one's app performance along with being able to keep track of potential errors and faults. The Heroku CLI is also nice to work with and well developed, being able to manage directly from terminal is important. The different staging options are pretty going in being able to test one's own app before even releasing out to the public and having a lot of options in testing before release is a big plus. While learning, I do have to say that Heroku’s wiki is fleshed out and provides a lot of information for someone new to such software.

Inconvénients :

Navigating through their website could use improvement, and while I have gotten used to Heroku and generally have a good idea of where their content is, I do feel like in the beginning I was constantly wondering where some options where and felt like information could definitely be better displayed along with general navigation. I also which there was a way to change up the appearance of the desktop app.

Like it so far!

5,0 il y a 5 ans

Commentaires : I love working withHheroku, but I don't have to pay for it cause the company I work for pays for it. If I was working on a side project that didn't have a very big tech budget I would probably choose something else. If the company can afford it though Heroku would be my first pick

Avantages :

- Being able to roll back my app is HUGE! - Easy to deploy from the command line (although my work has it setup so when I commit to master in github it deploys the latest version) - Has a nice CLI to get info, restart the app, and such... - Has add ons which easily integrates with the app. - Easy to setup different environments of the same app. - Easily see how the app is doing.

Inconvénients :

Heroku interface is really nice to work with, but some of the add-ons don't have the best interface. I know the code for those add-ons are not made by Heroku, but I wish Heroku had higher standards for their add-ons. There are some super useful add-ons that just have little things about them that are weird or confusing. Plus most of the add-ons I have used don't have a very pretty interface. If Heroku put a little pressure on them to clean up their user experience that would be helpful.

Heroku is a powerful PaaS with unmatched support

5,0 il y a 5 ans

Commentaires : Heroku has allowed us to focus on our product and outsource the majority of our dev ops workload, which has been highly effective at our (small) size.

Avantages :

We've been using Heroku since our product launch for much of our backend infrastructure, and we remain absolutely smitten with the fantastic product and support we've gotten. Heroku strikes a great balance between the responsibilities of running everything on bare metal yourself and a more managed infrastructure, and we've been very happy with the trade-offs here. To top it off, their support is phenomenal, and, in the case of highly technical issues, consistently escalate support queries to the right technical person internally.

Inconvénients :

Heroku can definitely be pricier than running your own show directly on your own servers, or even in a virtualized environment like AWS that's definitely one critique we've seen from colleagues, however in our case that cost is more than justified for what we get in return for it.

Simple and affordable platform as a service

4,0 l’année dernière

Commentaires : Heroku allows us to focus on developing actual applications without the need to worry about complex server configuration and networking.

Avantages :

Ease of setting up new applications and provisioning add-ons. Great user interface for easily managing applications.

Inconvénients :

Limitations in application setup makes it unsuitable for large multi-service systems. HTTP requests are limited due to a enforced timeout of 30s.

Heroku - PaaS platform acquired by Salesforce

4,0 il y a 4 ans

Commentaires : Heroku does wonder to add arsenal to deverlopers time as we get easy to build boilerplate codes for Nodejs or other javascript scripting. We use it for the backend hosting to cloud, when applications arent too complex or the footprint of users arent too heavy. Its easier to demo an application on Heroku than AWS simply due to the accelerators in place.

Avantages :

1. Its API's first world is hugely helpful in developing applications 2. Documentation and customer support is top notch 3. Heroku Add on works great for most of the use cases 4. Intuitive UI, supports many programming languages 5. Heroku forms a crucial backbone for Salesforce when dealing with big data. The external objects feature from Salesforce is due to Heroku. Takes off most of the complexity in bulk processing on Salesforce as it can be off loaded to Heroku 5. With Salesforce Canvas integration, it forms a perfect ally to Heroku.

Inconvénients :

1. It can have a steep learning curve 2. Tends to be pricey for a large application when compared to AWS, Azure 3. Auditing can be improved 4. Quality of add on's can also be improved 5. Buildpack documentation needs to be improved as well

My take on Heroku

5,0 il y a 4 ans

Commentaires : I've been happy with the tools Heroku has offered me. However, for a user that knows her way around cloud providers these might provide a more fine grained control over their application's availability.

Avantages :

A decent free to use offer, and a overwhelmingly well thought paid plan. Integration with Git and other Control Version systems is mature and well thought, allowing the team to make sure the application is always up and running.

Inconvénients :

The interface is not always as responsive as one would wish for, also the CLI version is not yet as intuitive as I would expect. Migrating your application from Heroku to another provider could also be easier.

I used to love Heroku a lot, and I transferred all of my projects to Heroku, but now I rarely use it

5,0 il y a 6 ans

Avantages :

I love it's simplicity, and it was very cheap for small projects, and easy to integrate a lot of different 3rd party services.

Inconvénients :

Heroku was my go to place if I wanted to host a prototype or hobby project. Right now, everything is getting very expensive, and the service is basically the same as 4 years ago. There are basically no new features for individual developers. There are a lot of new features like teams and pipelines for larger projects for companies. It's more revenue driven now but I don't blame them, it makes sense. One thing I think it would be nice to have is, there can be cheaper servers (maybe a separate dyno hours) for front end only apps (just like S3 hosting for static sites).

Great website host

5,0 il y a 4 ans

Commentaires : We've had great success hosting one of our smaller web apps on heroku. It allowed for a low cost way to get our app up and running while we continue to build it and grow. Integrating PostgreSQL made our database storage incredibly easy. We've been very happy with it, especially given that there are free options to get you started at no cost.

Avantages :

Heroku is an easy and cheap option for hosting your web apps. We host one of our apps that is in Beta on heroku and this allows us to have it active without too much overhead cost. Updating the app via the command line makes it extremely easy to combine with GitHub so that you can commit and push to both with one set of commands. The integrated PostgreSQL databse option makes it easy to maintain your data on the database without too much database administration.

Inconvénients :

Updating your PostgreSQL database can be a bit of a task. I generally need to reference guides every time I have to update a table with new data. Also, there is a bit of a learning curve. Luckily Heroku has some pretty great guides. In the free tier, you'll find that your web app loads a bit slow initially but it isn't terrible and hard to complain for a free option.

Great PaaS for your application

5,0 il y a 5 ans

Avantages :

Heroku is a great Platform as a Service product. You can set up a server and deploy it in a few minutes (at least a ruby on rails application). Integration with git is awesome!. You can scale your app with only a couple of clicks and is as transparent as it should be. If you don't want to spend money with a dev ops and managing server this is the solution for you.

Inconvénients :

They only con I will say is the pricing, even though you will save a lot of money in your initial stage, since you won't need someone to manage the infrastructure of your application, when you app start to grow, also will your invoices.

Heroku - Best PaaS tool to try out new projects quickly

4,0 il y a 5 ans

Avantages :

* Heroku is one of the best PaaS(Platform as a Service) tool to quickly build the POC(Proof of Concept) or MVP (Minimal Viable Product). * Reduces lots of service setup/configuration time and server charges. * Supports many programming language and server stack. * Deploying code to the heroku platform can be performed by very few command line statements. * Can set up the server to auto scale based on the server load ; This enables our application to handle any spike in traffic. * The support documentation and help guide is very detailed. Most of the problems can be resolved by going through the documentation. * Supports pipeline for continuous code integration and delivery. * Can attach any DB to the container and the DB can be shared across many containers as well.

Inconvénients :

* Pricing : It can get really expensive as the traffic grows. At one point, it will make economical sense to move out of Heroku and go to the traditional server setup which will be less expensive. * There will be use case where we need to install additional software apart from the standard stack or run a specialized service in the server. This cannot be achieved using Heroku as it does not offer a direct access to the server. Very limited customization can be performed for the container.

Stress-free bootstrapping support for your software company

I used Heroku to publish my AI chatbot plus a couple of websites.

5,0 il y a 5 ans

Commentaires : I was able to test out all my apps with ease!

Avantages :

I really admire how this product achieves abstraction by using "dynos" on the cloud. I created a NodeJS AI chatbot as a part of my 3rd-year project, the ease of deployment using Heroku-CLI is one of the best things this platform has to offer. I got it hosted using a "hobby" dyno in no time. The continuous integration and deployment with GitHub helped me a lot in testing out my app. I also used this product to host a landing page for an app I made during a hackathon. The whole process took me no more than 15 minutes, which is really great!

Inconvénients :

I think the price for the "hobby" dyno is a little bit steep. Apart from that, Heroku puts your "free" dynos to sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity which leads to slower response time from the server when the app is woken up again.

Heroku for startups and small businesses

5,0 il y a 3 ans

Commentaires : Overall this host is best for new product and for students, everyone can try free trial it's very convenient for starting any idea, and implement it here.

Avantages :

This host is most likely for small businesses and for startups, Its very easy to configure and deploy any project, I've use with Ruby and with Node.js and it works very smoothly. You can add any configuration or dynos by one click and connect everything to each other. It has all monitoring services you want as you product is small or mid size as growing.

Inconvénients :

As I mentioned above this is for small products, one of cons I faced in these years that you cant do a lot of advanced configuration of your dns or ssl settings, you should either use their paid addons or you should move to AWS or somewhere else. And if you use heroku stack you should update it frequently cos it will stop supporting one day.
