Commentaires : Great experience, if they fix some bugs like and add some more features (one click voucher should open from report) to save the time.

Avantages :

Very good budget control management, Project accounting is so easily monitored, ease in monthly closing, depreciation posting & WIPcalculations, Nice tool for cost allocation if you have manyr departments, activity wise project procurement control etc. uploading a huge journal data through excel sheet template

Inconvénients :

Payroll module is a long hectic and not user friendly, unable to go directly to the voucher from a particular report, you have to type voucher num manually as the buildsmart does not have a feature to take you in one click, If an asset is added into fixed assets then again need to update/edit in master list.

Superb Software from RIB!!

Commentaires : Superb experience received from trainers and support.

Avantages :

The way the software can drill down to contract and activity levels is astounding. The live system enables up to the minute reporting.

Inconvénients :

The cashbook capturing is not as user friendly as a traditional accounting package, but still good for a cost accounting system. The park and post functions are well liked.

Not designed by accountants

Commentaires : Extremely painful. Would not use if I had a choice.

Avantages :

Multiple contracts - relatively easy to set up and capture when its working.

Inconvénients :

Stock module pedantic. Financial reports not standardized across financial periods.

Doing all payments and the fact that it imports directly from CCS and makes life easy.

Commentaires : WHEN I STARTED WORKING WITH BUILDSMART , I WAS THOUGHT THE BASICS WHIC I WAS STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT AND THEN THE COUNTRY WENT ON LOCK DOWN . I WAS WORKING FROM HOME AND WITH EXPERIENCE AN I LEARNT ALL THE PROS OF BUILDSMART . NOW I AM THE GO TO MAN IN MY COMANY WHEN THEY NEED SOMETHING . THANSK TO BUILS SMART REPORT FUNCTION .

Avantages :

I LOVE THE FACT THAT THE REPORT FUNCTION - HELPS ME THE MOST. FROM SEEING WHAT PO'S ARE NEED TO BE RELEASED TO WHAT PO'S STILL WAITING FOR INVOICES. YOU CAN LOOK FOR AN ITEM YOUBOUGHT FIVE YEARS AGO AND BE ABLE TO SEE WHO SUPPLIED IT TO YOU AS WELL. I LIKETHE NOTIFIACTION OF APPORVER TO RELEASE PO'S

Inconvénients :

Commentaires : Okay, but not as user friendly or as good as other accounting and payroll software.

Avantages :

Some things are easy to use like debtors invoicing, bank reconciliations and journals.

Inconvénients :

Changing of dates and periods. Not being able to drill down. Not being able to write reports. Not being able to edit transactions after posting. All the procedures for month end, year end, debtor, ledger, subcon, etc. Too many complicated procedures compared to other accounting systems. Payroll not half as good as other payroll software and requires much more programming.

Commentaires : a year ago it was better. now with the new updates there is alot of glitches that make it harder.

it keeps loging me out ! i cant stay on buildsmart the whole 50 minutes, every 5 minutes it kicks me out.

Use of RIB BuildSmart

Commentaires : BuiltSmart is the perfect example of the modern use of technology. Having to track all payments, cost reports, procurement items, etc, makes life so easy when having to pull a report that will provide all the necessary information

Avantages :

I enjoy the ease and access of the software without any hassles. I get to do my job quickly and efficiently with data being consistently saved. In the case of looking my device I am able to recover all the data.

Inconvénients :

Not being able to undo certain actions that require an administrator.

Commentaires : RIB BuildSmart is user friendly and yet comprehensive software that one can use to manage finances of the projects and business overall. it is financial software that a recommend for construction businesses as it tailored for such type of businesses. The ability to report live information on the ground is absolute essential.

Avantages :

One of the aspects I appreciate most about Build Smart is its ability to offer real-time financial updates for the project and the entire business. Its integration with CCS guarantees that data is more precise and reduces the frequency of irregularities that could compromise the accuracy of the data and the reliability of the reports.

Inconvénients :

I have nothing much about the downside and believe with training you get better and faster in completing tasks. I must say at times the programme gets slow and it kicks you out and you need to login again and again.

Great for Construction Costing and Financial Accounting

Commentaires : Great tool for the Construction industry.

Avantages :

The idea that construction contracts are seamlessly costed into an accounting format, for ease of reporting. Both for cost reports and financial statements.

Inconvénients :

Customer support never calls you back and some functionality can be better.

Build Smart review

Commentaires : As this is the 3rd program in the last 26 years of doing contract admin, I found this to be the
easiest program to do accounting and costing in. Well done it is an amazing tool

Avantages :

It is very user friendly an can be applied in all stages on Construction Projects big or small

Inconvénients :

In Contract valuation, if you have an error on the amount entered it cannot be rectified, the program goes to a halt, you need to go out and go into the program. You cannot re-enter the amount, although it is only saving and posting the entry later on.

Bad Experience

Commentaires : Very bad and disappointing. I will not recommend using this crap.

Real time reporting, with tons of features which are sometime useless

The support is not in line with the customer requirements.

Commentaires : Buildsmart has not interacted with end users

the interaction with CCS and very little else

Inconvénients :

Buildsmart is not user friendly and is not a complete procurement system for construction. It has no hire purchase order for plant and formwork

Commentaires : Pastel system is smarter than Buildsmart.

Avantages :

There is nothing positive about Buildsmart.Maybe if you in construction.

Commentaires : Overall Usage of the Build smart is Very Useful & exiting , and still a recommendable Software

it's Part from Daily Uses And Processes , Facilitating our Project Control Operations , Critical Dependance on this Platform Specially with the Integration with CANDY , it's the Good Place to Reach any of your Historical Data or records immediately

Inconvénients :

more improvement Is still Expected to the Reports section , Specially while Exporting them to Excel , you May Suffer Alot to Renovate the Report to be in Presentable Shape !

PROCUREMENT

Commentaires : Nice experience not much issues with it

Avantages :

User Friendly To attached quotes and to escalate for approval with different stage of approval whereby every person is aware of what being procured. Easy to insert prices and suppliers Easy to extract requisition on an excel sheet.

Inconvénients :

The reporting system is not efficient. e.g if I need to extract a report for items procured on a specific work , BS do not have that facility , i wil have to extract a the project items procured and then select the items for the specific job. If this one can be added, BS will be great.

BuildSmart for all

Commentaires : As mentioned above, it is a learning tool for the company and we are busy experiencing new features and report reading and excited to see what we can achieve by utilising the system on a full function basis.

Avantages :

What I love most about the software is the reporting system. I base it on weekly and monthly performance appraisals. I also appreciate the fact that it can direct you in terms of cost saving and very excited when new features are released. It shows that the voices of other customers are heard and CCS is constantly working to improve the use of the software.

Inconvénients :

I cannot think of anything yet as we are still new to the system and as we experience challenges, the customer support is constantly there to assist.

the system is so easy to use it allows you to amend and correct your processing without having to restart the entire it. it also gives you a change to review and amend things.

Inconvénients :

it requires one to input most data manually so it will be appreciated if the was a way to import data like you bank statement straight to the system.

A very wonderful experience. Good management to control the budget and monitor the project account easily. It is also easy to close monthly. It is also a good tool for calculating costs and monitoring project purchases.

Inconvénients :

It can develop better due to the changes we are going through and we want everything in one click because this saves us a lot of time

Reporting based on Items must be there suppose we need how much steel we bought in a year I couldn't find this feature in this software. we can segregate info based on suppliers but not based on items.

Solid Software for Construction Companies

Avantages :

The most liked feature in Build Smart is its integration with Candy the estimation software, the budget can be imported to Build Smart from Candy to manage the procurement process, then the actual cost can be exported to Candy from Build Smart for cost control reporting. It is also web based platform which make it easier to work anywhere & anytime.

Inconvénients :

Would prefer if you can link Candy & Build Smart using BOQ item codes instead of task codes to make it very precise to find each item budget and actual cost.

QS-BS Review
