A great experience from day one thanks to personal customer service.

BACKGROUND Our synod had just completed a study in online giving. One of the key piece of feedback was support for our leaders without having to go through a phone zone for support only to be told you'll have to look through the support documents on the website. Our results were mixed. THE DECISION TO MAKE THE MOVE TO TITHE.LY As we looked into Tithe.ly as a provider of eGiving solutions, from day one, I was continually impressed with their responsiveness and the level of their customer service we received. If I have a question, I can call ONE PERSON directly. No phone tress. No... you'll have to read our support forum for that answer. Just great, personalized customer service from one representative. They work to get me the best answer. Tithe.ly also has very competitive rates. In other words, we get to keep more of the money that is given to us. Having the option for text giving is helpful in situations when there are emergencies, disasters, or events. We decided to add a personalized app. It is intuitive and the process of building the app was informative and quick. I can't thank the folks building the app enough. Pros: Great Customer Service, Price is fair, and in my conversations with their people, I got the real feeling like this is a company that really wants to be the best they can be.

Inconvénients :

I have not experienced many negative things with Tithe.ly. Just take your time and ask a question so you fully understand what is being offered and what you can do, if you move forward with a personalized app. Most of the confusion I had around the was on me.

Commentaires : Support has been excellent, use of the software has been pretty straight forward and comprehensive.

Avantages :

We are using Tithe.ly as a whole package because of a discount provided by our national church with Tithe.ly as a preferred provider. I love the church app and so do our members. Member management is important, but I also love the added giving options for our website, app, and texting.

Inconvénients :

Website editing platform is difficult to use and time consuming. There is a learning curve for the Elvanto ChMS, but once developed it is solid. I wish that Breeze were the default ChMS in the bundle.

Great set of tools for the church, but TONS of core functionality missing

Commentaires : I like the Tithely vision: a whole suite of products under one roof. But given that they've bought different products and merged them rather than developing from scratch, there's little continuity between the products. They don't fix bugs and dont demonstrate a culture that even cares about the bugs. I feel as though those doing the development planning have NEVER worked in a church before, because of the amount of core functionality missing. That said, this company has the potential to be the leader in church tech products if they'd just change their culture, quit launching half-baked products, and fix what's wrong with current products. They love God and want to serve the church. Hopefully they can fix what ails them so they can serve even more churches!

Avantages :

Tithely has built an amazing suite of tools for the church, at an amazing price: $99/ month. Really can't beat the price, when you consider that this provides Church Management, Text Messaging, Website, Giving, Media, and a Mobile App

Inconvénients :

There are TONS of missing features and functionality, and this isn't disclosed or known until after you've made the conversion and are in too deep to switch again. For example, in ChMS, -The framework is outdated - 20 years old or more. -Automated reports really aren't reports, just an email reminder to run a report -Due to bugs, Giving transactions dont auto-populate in ChMS -No conditional rules for forms -No report data in emails -Still get notifications of reports have no data, which is a waste of time, since you have to log in to see the report before you know there's no data -Members can't see their year to data giving total in Member area -no calculations of report fields -Almost NO integrations with other platforms -No form data sent to admins when forms are completed -Almost NO customization of the GUI -social media integration has been broken since we came on board, but no sense of urgency to fix For the mobile app -cant check in on the app -mobile app requires use of Tithely Giving, which isnt disclosed until after you build your app -no geolocations -can't configure home tiles For Giving: -Current integration with ChMS is buggy -No notification when someone gives -Fees cant be a designated fund Also -New products launched barebones, like Messaging (no groups or keywords) -Media can't be edited -No enhancements to Websites in almost a year -Will not allow concerns to be posted to Tithely FB group; blocked everytime -Bugs galore with no sense of urgency to fix

Very helpful for a small/mid sized church!

Commentaires : Excellent overall experience. I would heartily recommend this product to a church that is seeking better means of keeping records / communicating with their church.

Avantages :

The "one-stop shop" aspect of Breeze has been incredibly helpful. We're a small/midsized church with a smaller staff. Being able to keep up with our membership records and communicate clearly to our congregation has been made easy with Breeze.

Inconvénients :

One of the reasons we selected Breeze was the cost for established pricing for the software, so that no matter how large we grow, we can expect to pay the same price. Recently, the cost went up (as did pretty much single good sold in the US, so that's understandable). We've also found ourselves paying quite a bit each month in texting fees.

Commentaires : Having giving, sermons, and registration available right on the app is awesome! It has a lot more features then planning center had so paying double for what we paid them monthly seems worth it!

Avantages :

Building the church app and website with them was such a smooth process!

Inconvénients :

I do feel like there are some glitches and didn't love that I had just learned all of the tithe.ly software and then had to learn the elvanto as well.

Easy and worry free

Commentaires : Tithely has been great! Their customer service group is the best - any time I have a problem I reach out and they help to take care of it.

Avantages :

What I like the most about Tithely software is that it is easy to navigate, easy to use, easy to figure out even from the first approach. It looks clean to visitors and it is simple, allowing our guests to return over and over problem free and allowing our church staff to navigate the software without a struggle.

Inconvénients :

Sometimes Tithely comes off as too business oriented. They offer free media which connects you to the "church/religious" side of things but then other business websites offer the same through an internet search. Their website design, app structure, and financial software is competitive and works well its just that in a ministry we connect so much to things of the heart and the software design seems more for business - then again their design is through what churches have asked for so maybe churches have become more about business then about the things of the heart.

Best Church Management Software - Saved Us During Covid

Avantages :

We converted to Breeze/Thithe.ly two years prior to the COVID pandemic. Because we had this system in place we were able to easily communicate with our congregation via email and text during the early days when the pandemic was changing things daily. The fact that our congregation had two years of experience with the software meant we did not experience the slump or delay in giving during the pandemic like many other churches we know. Those churches struggled to find ways for their congregation to give online and lost critical income.As we returned to in person services we were able to send targeted notifications to the congregation if there was a reported exposure to COVID. We thanked God that we found Breeze/Tithe.ly when we did.

Inconvénients :

The ease by which duplicated profiles can be made by mistake.

Avantages :

tithe.ly cares about churches and the heart of their people shine through! Their team is willing to help and make the software so much better.

Commentaires : Overall a reliable option for doing online giving but likely will switch to another platform that offers better integration with other software (ChMS and website) or that offers reduced fees for processing giving transactions.

Avantages :

It offers an easy to set up giving solution for non-profits with the ability to designate different accounts for giving and set up re-occurring giving without any up front costs.

Inconvénients :

Its integration within its own platform (user management, website, etc.) is messy at best. Giving fees are industry standard with no discounts or savings for non-profits.

Commentaires : Even with the cons listed above, Tithely has been a great experience for us! I wish the website management was more intuitive, but it is so great to be able to manage it all in one place. And it saves us money by managing our website through Tithely. Also, their customer service is amazing! When you are cared for, the annoyances and downsides don't feel so bad because you know that someone is working on it and cares about your experience.

Avantages :

More intuitive than other management software I have used, customer service is amazing, so great to be able to manage our website and app in one spot, great visuals for tracking giving

Inconvénients :

There are some features that just aren't updated well enough yet, like transitioning to Elvanto (a more full feature church management software included in Tithely) and back to Tithely. I haven't found a way that our members can reply directly to email messages sent from Tithely. The website management is nice to have, but it is slightly less intuitive than sites like Squarespace.

Tithe.LY for our Church has been a useful and effective tool

Commentaires : We want to use the tool to increase regular giving which it has helped. We are happy with the church management to and want to continue to use it more effectively with more training.

Avantages :

Using Tithe.LY for online giving has been very effective in increased giving and reaching people outside our church who wan to support some of our programs like our Food Panty. It is automated and works great to get us the funds. The church management system has helped us safely store all our member information. We haven't fully used all the program can do for us yet.

Inconvénients :

The reports are customizable but not always easy to get it to come out how you would like it. Also the training needs some improvement.

Is Tithe.ly for Small Organizations/Churches?

Commentaires : Overall, my experience with Tithe.ly has been progressively better. I had such a difficult time with tithe.ly initially, but as I've learned a lot more about website building, and source code editing, integrations, etc, all the workings to make a good website, I truly enjoy what tithe.ly has to offer. Everything is connected with tithe.ly, that's the only dangerous part. So changing things in the admin console could change something on the site, or in another area of the entire tithe.ly port. It's great that everything kind of runs together, but that can mess things up sometimes. Despite the problems I had, I believe that tithe.ly is useful for small to large organizations. I didn't have any website building knowledge, but if someone who wants to use tithe.ly does, they'll have an easy time. As far as tithe.ly for giving, it's great. Gives you lot of options for fund management, and tax information as well. I would definitely say tithe.ly is made for churches, not so much ministries. But, just the use of it's basic functions like the giving platform and the website is good. If I had to do this all again with all the knowledge I had now, I'm not sure if I would choose tithe.ly, only because of the limitations in designs and the difficulty of certain functions.

Avantages :

I believe there's parts of tithe.ly that beneficial for small organizations. My ministry is small and growing, but I still find tithe.ly as a whole to be very useful. They have a lot of different guides that always accessible. However, my favorite part of tithe.ly is their 'sites'. My website and giving is powered by tithe.ly and I enjoy it very much. I will say it's not the best design, however, the 'sites' function is definitely good for smaller ministries who just want a website, but don't need a store or anything like that. Tithe.ly also has a wide range of pictures you can choose from. So if you're mostly online like I am, and you're a smaller ministry in need of good quality pictures, tithe.ly has an easily accessible and useable media function where you can download pictures for free and use them all over your site and in the email campaigns. My last favorite bit of tithe.ly is their sermon section on the website. Uploads are the easiest ever, and linking pages together is easy once you know how to do it. I think the biggest pro of tithe.ly is that they offer a lot of different functions that really cover the whole workings of a ministry so you don't need to go anywhere else. I ended up needing to for more advanced needs, but if you don't want to get super flashy, then I would stick with tithe.ly. It's an excellent product.

Inconvénients :

My biggest complaint is that unless you recognize a problem with something, tithe.ly does not reach out to you. What I mean is, I had an error with the bank account on file, and for several months, all the donations through tithe.ly were not coming into the account like I thought they were. I received an email in September, stating that a deposit was on its way to my account. After that email, I stopped receiving emails about deposits and I didn't think anything of it, since I thought the first deposit was deposited. Months later, I just happened to check my deposit area (thank God) on tithe.ly and there'd been NO deposits since September. However, tithe.ly was paid every month with the EXACT SAME bank account. When contacted, they got to the bottom of the problem (some kind of way my bank numbers were off one). I had over a thousand dollars sitting in a tithe.ly account somewhere. By the grace of God, we got the problem fixed and I haven't had any issues since. Another con is their 'sites' tool. I love this tool! However, I hated it initially. In fact, I hated it so much I considered switching to a different website builder just because this one was so hard to understand. The tutorials don't help much with the website, there is a certain amount of prior knowledge you need to build a good site, let alone integrate anything. The final con is the difficulty in creating new pages on the 'sites' tool and the limited site layout options.

Commentaires : Overall, Tithely was helpful in getting us switched over from our previous provider and is constantly working to create new features and products to add value to the product.

Avantages :

There are a lot of tools that are very helpful: online giving, church management software, email campaigns, text giving, website creator, mobile app and so much more. There are a lot of tools at your disposal for a very reasonable all-inclusive price.

Inconvénients :

The one downside is that some of tools do not communicate with each other. You have to keep a separate database in the church management side from the one on the donor side. It can be time consuming to do duplicate work. They have promised for a while to fix this with a two-way sync, but it has never come to fruition. Despite this flaw, it is still worth the cost and will be EXCELLENT once it is fixed (hopefully).

Commentaires : It has been a good relationship with Tithely. I think as they grow there needs to more communication with our contact at Tithely dedicated to our area. We do like the quarterly Tithely Next live streaming to inform clients of updates, new features, improvements.

Avantages :

The ease of giving attracted us the most with all the different ways to give, online, text to give through Tithely or driving traffic to our website. Using Tithley for our website has been a great combination to the giving platform as mentioned and all the information we can offer our members and others who are searching for a church. We have yet to really tap into some of the other features Tithely offer like messaging, events etc.

Inconvénients :

The app has not been the best experience so far. There as a plug and play goes, there still needs to be a request to Tithely support to change certain items ie logos, header changes etc. We do like the push message section of the app that we use on a daily/weekly basis to members who have downloaded the app. We also like the sermon notes section that we use weekly to give members a place to make notes during the service. It does need to be manually imputed but other than tha it's a great feature.

Not worth the savings

Avantages :

Their online giving is simple and provided our members an easy way to give online.

Inconvénients :

The software was frequently not working the way it should. Once they updated to Tithe.ly 2.0, I was unable to print or export PDFs of our monthly giving statements. This forced me to take screenshots of the webpage and then crop the image down, which is very annoying. On top of this, there were several other bugs that we had to work through. Tithe.ly is a very ambitious company that has taken on many new functions and acquired several other smaller companies. The result is what seems like a lot of usability and functionality but is actually dysfunctional, dated, and mismatched UX and UI.

Tons of help

Commentaires : Customer service has been fantastic.As a small church with no IT and very little budget, and as a tech hobbyist, I've been able to centrally locate and backup administrative information that has otherwise existed in various places and formats and streamline access to that information. We run on volunteers, so this has made it much easier for me to put information in the hands of our volunteer leaders who need it.

Avantages :

There are many different modules that Tithe.ly offers, from membership database to service reporting to worship scheduling and preparation to membership communication to mobile apps and websites to social media, and, oh, did i mention financial giving tracking and reporting? It does them all well. Tithe.ly is available modular or as a big, single product. I appreciated how easy it was to import data from various sources.

Inconvénients :

There's so much you can do it's almost overwhelming. That's a blessing and sometimes a curse. It all scales so well for churches of different sizes, but that also means I spent too much time using features that a small church of our size just didn't need or couldn't take advantage of. That's not on Tithe.ly, that's on me.

Commentaires : First time it was good. Now I can’t access it.

Avantages :

From the initial set up I liked several features, giving, financial reports and text/email communication are among the top. I stepped down from being treasurer a few years ago. July 1, 2022 I became secretary and we cannot get me set up with admin access. Minister tried contacting you. Left messages (no one answers the phone). No response. Asked for another On-Boarding and we would be willing to pay for it. Still NO RESPONSE.

You have to try it to believe it!

Commentaires : I can't imagine the hours we have saved by using this product. Customer service is easy to reach and quick to respond with answers. And the fact that they're still innovating, adding, and developing means Tithely should stay relevant for years to come.

Avantages :

Tithely gave us the ability to get rid of multiple systems in favor of one! Imagine having a place where giving, messaging, church management, website, mobile app, email, and more all integrate together! Add someone to the database, enroll them in a group, and set up an email subscription all in one spot! Plus having the all-access fee is saving us lots of money.

Inconvénients :

Integration was easy to set up, but it isn't always easy to educate our users on the things they need to know. I'd love to see easy tutorials for the end user.

A great start

Avantages :

The member directory on the Elvanto side has a lot of options and works well. I think the volunteer management feature is a good inclusion. The online giving component is simple to set up and use.

Inconvénients :

There are a lot of features that are great inclusions but could be better. The Tithely Pay POS system is good but too simplistic; transactions aren't categorized on the back end, which makes it difficult for the accounting team. The volunteer management system feels overly complicated and difficult to manage. The language around the notifications and how they work is difficult for the staff to understand and has made it almost unusable for our church. The messaging feature has a lot of potential but seems to be missing some critical pieces, especially around the email blast features (couldn't embed a video link?) The sync between Elvanto and Tithely has been a gigantic headache.

Commentaires : Awesome!! Very positive!! They provide great training webinars to service the church with timely needs.

Avantages :

We love the features that are interchangeable for our website, the ease of online giving and finding the information about those who have given money. The app is fantastic. I love that when we put in the events on the website it automatically transfers over to the app. Customer service is awesome! They walked us through putting our in the App store for Apple devices and it was very complicated but they were patient in working with us. Thanks to the team at Tithe.ly. I recommend them to other Pastors I know.

Avantages :

We like how it facilitates giving for our members. Not everyone carries cash or a checkbook nowadays, so a digital option gives our church the ability to give even if they cannot give via traditional avenues. We also appreciate that Tithe.ly provides the option to cover the fee for each online gift. The vast majority of our digital givers giving through Tithe.ly opt to cover the donation fee, and that helps our church a lot.

Inconvénients :

Currently, the internal website's donation reports generate general things like the giver's name, quantity of gift, etc. But if you want to quickly see if the gift went to your church's general fund or if the gift was marked as a designated gift for a designated fund or special project, you have to download, save, and open the Excel spreadsheet file to find out. It would be nice if you could see that listed on the bank deposits page or the individual gift details page. Or, what would actually be best is if you could customize your bank deposits page to see the information you really wanted to see quickly (At a glance) prior to downloading the full reports. But honestly, this is just getting picky, because Tithe.ly as a tool has been very easy to use and has been great for our church.

Tithe.ly from a small church

Commentaires : It's been good. There are so many features that it can be overwhelming to understand them all.

Avantages :

Although we don't use them all, we use many of the features. The ones we use the most are People, Calendar, Events, Financial and more. The app has been easy to update and we are going to launch a new website in the next few weeks. The support team is great!

Inconvénients :

The features don't seem to talk to one another. Events have to be entered in several places to show up on the app, website, calendar, especially if you add a registration link. There are some cross platform features that are missing. For example, I enter our weekly offering into Elvanto but it doesn't register in Tithe.ly. Fortunately, it does go the other way.
