Any frustrated user of Google Docs should run not walk to check out Zoho Writer, a free online collaborative writing tool that equals Docs in every way and surpasses it in many others. Yes, you can collaborate with others on a document, just like Docs, which means you can comment, contribute together, and write together in real time. It's also easier to track and see changes in Zoho Writer than it is in Docs. You can publish to a Wordpress blog. Seriously I would need to write a blog post to over Zoho Writer's features than Docs can't match, but here's a few that I like and use: Templating (any doc you create can become a template for new docs); built-in mail merge; electronic signatures, importing documents from other cloud drives; saving to other cloud drives; per document offline mode; exporting as epub, open document (or Word, of course); a well-designed interface with color icons; personal dictionary; Quick Text (autotype of sorts); built-in thesaurus; endnotes and footnotes; table of contents; extensive formatting and printing tools.... OK, I'll stop. The feature list is extensive. If there's something Zoho Writer lacks, I haven't noticed it yet.

Inconvénients :

It runs a little slow on underpowered machines, like the Chromebook I'm writing on now. Also, it wasn't immediately apparent how to turn off seeing and tracking changes.

Wonderful Free Product

Commentaires : I use it because of its simplicity and the fact that sharing and downloading your document in multiple formats is much easier than with Google Docs or Microsoft Word on Android.

Avantages :

Zoho writer is an excellent, completely free document editor with an elegant design and awesome export options.

Inconvénients :

I have only found three small issues with Zoho writer: 1) Onboarding within the Android app is slow and often crashes the app 2) Copy Paste from other apps is slightly strange and loses all formatting, including paragraph breaks. 3) There is no markdown support

Edit texts in real time

Commentaires : I have used this application to make some drafts of my writings before making the final article. My boss corrects these drafts using this platform, that speeds up the correction process and efficiently, so it's much easier to have a quick response to publish.

Avantages :

It's an easy-to-use text editor that works in real time, is flexible and works for any professional who needs to edit documents, you can even make edits from your cell phone. You can share your writings with other people, it is quite safe and reliable.

Inconvénients :

Feels like a basic text editor, with basic editing functions, could improve on many technical and functional aspects.

Completely customisable and easy to use

Commentaires : It is completely amazing, I love working on Zoho writer and my whole team can simultaneously have a look at my work and edit it. Also, the tracking feature is great.

Avantages :

The way we can create our own template for all our future documents and how it is so easy to directly publish WordPress blogs makes it much better when compared to its competitors.

Inconvénients :

Well, it's free software with so many features and there is hardly anything I dislike about it. Just that it sometimes gets stuck!

A software for simultaneous modification of documents in the cloud that can be improved

Commentaires : Zoho Writer is an acceptable software to work with documents in the cloud. It is important to take advantage of this software how intuitive it can be, it is quite useful to autocomplete certain functions saving time and effort, in addition to its functions with the sources and presentation of the document, which are quite good. I think that this software can be improved in order to consider a more close competition with other softwares with the same characteristics.

Avantages :

When I did my tests looking for the best editor of text documents in the cloud I got with the company Zoho and its software compendium. Among those was Zoho Writer, which offers you the option to modify documents in the cloud in real time and collaboratively. Zoho Writer has an excellent intuitive platform, which offers autocompletion options and use of fonts according to the aesthetics of the document. Allows you to export documents to other software without losing the format

Inconvénients :

In spite of being an acceptable software it has some defects that diminish it in front of the competition: - You can not modify master documents. -You can not organize documents in folders or you can customize them. -It has no spell checker. Although these aspects seem minor, other softwares do, leaving Zoho Writer on a different level

Zoho Writer Is The Best

Commentaires : When I didn't have access to Microsoft Word, Zoho Writer came in very handy. I am very impressed and will continue to use .

Avantages :

I first encountered Zoho Writer 10 years ago, because I was looking for an alternative to Microsoft Word. It was the precursor to Google Docs and 10 years later I am still impressed with its simple interface, easy functionality and great customer service. The fact that Zoho Writer is cloud bases was my "green light" to continue using it. I knew that I'd always have a backup of my documents in case my hard drive gave out. I also like that you can attach other well known apps to Zoho Writer as well.

A decent time & attendance system

Commentaires : Zoho helps meet our time tracking needs and is cost efficient. Depending on what you need if for its a decent CRM for the money.

Avantages :

I'm primarily in the product for time & attendance but we're considering a few other Zoho solutions. Zoho is easy to use and very easy to export data for the purposes of analytics. When working on government contracts this is of prime importance.

Inconvénients :

There are many HRIS systems that have this functionality tied into a more robust systems. But I guess it comes down to what you need it for if you don't need an HRIS but are in the market for a CRM then Zoho will do the trick and its priced better than Salesforce.

Nothing new under the sun

Avantages :

The software works well, nothing to say about it, but it have really anything more than google docs?

Commentaires : I didn't have to settle for a basic word processing software that's costly. It's right in my browser, and I can edit documents to the finest of details and in a more graphic style.

Avantages :

I have an older computer that doesn't support traditional word document programs. Being a webmaster, I appreciate the ability to completely customize documents, down to the finest details. The integration within Writer is so awesome. You can share the documents with your contacts directly from the application, and if you have Zoho e-mail it will auto populate your contacts as you type them in. When creating the actual documents, rearranging content and editing it is so easy and fast. It has a very legible (and collapsible!) editing interface, allowing you to quickly find the editing tool that you need. Just like other Zoho applications, every function is easily searchable, and intelligently itemized on the toolbar. I was so surprised at just how many templates are already on the application. You can pick one and completely customize the whole thing. Being a fan of the Microsoft excel format, I love that the "text boxes" are actual tables and cells. It makes using the program very easy to learn. It's free with a Zoho account and super easy and fast to install the web application.

Inconvénients :

The application is sometimes buggy, but it's a free app. When moving content from page to page it tends to jump around and make the application run slowly, or crash altogether. Other than that, it's perfectly fine for daily use!

The Writer for all Writers

Avantages :

The neat interface helps you focus purely on your writing, and it has three modes for Compose, Review and Distribute life-cycles of document creation. It has both online and offline modes, and integrates very well with WorkDrive and other products of the Zoho suite. The intelligent writing assistant, powered by Zia is also a good touch.

Inconvénients :

I would love to see a programmatic / scripting interface to automate various aspects of the writing life cycle.

Worthy Microsoft Word Alternative

Commentaires : I use Zoho Writer to create numerous kinds of documents - from plain text to much more elaborate documents. I also use it to collaborate on various documents - either back or forth in creating new material, or by sending it out for approval. The software is more than capable of holding it's own next to Microsoft Word.

Avantages :

This is probably my favorite online word processing software tool that is free to use. Zoho Writer can do anything and everything that Microsoft Word can do that I would ever use. And the best part is that it's free.

Inconvénients :

Works best when you're working on a document that you created in Zoho Writer and not imported from Word, which is unfortunate since the entire world uses Word. This is especially true for anything more than straight ahead document. Anything that comes from a Word template requires lots of tweaking. Fortunately, Zoho Writer comes with some really nice templates, albet nothing on the scale of Word.

A simple and convenient text-based online editor

Avantages :

With some tasks, the program copes much better than a word. I checked this on myself. Take at least a spelling check. A quality and convenient program that is less demanding of resources and is available 24 hours a day via the Internet.

Inconvénients :

The menu is located non-standard, but so much more convenient, in fact. We just got used to it differently, but you get used to the good quickly. It is worth adding integration with other applications.

Will send the Word to rest

I recommend trying a new version of an online editor for text documents. My opinion is clear - google documents and Word-online it's time to send to retire. Zoho Writer - really cool thing.

Inconvénients :

The package is still in the shadows and few people know about it. Therefore, there is not enough training material to work with it.

A different word processor

Avantages :

I like the variety of templates that are available. They help me to create attractive documents with a couple of clicks, I can make a good impression thanks to this. There is an option that allows you to publish these created documents and share them on the Web or in your blog.

Inconvénients :

There are moments that I feel a bit slow when using the tools. It only happens on some occasions. Everything else, very good.

My cloud Text editor

Avantages :

One of the most important things is that when accessing this type of software is to realize how everything is evolving. This text editor is available in the service cloud and is very similar to the popular one (word). The best of all is the access and it does not take up space on your disk. It is simple to use and create documents.

Inconvénients :

At the moment I do not have any kind of complaint. Everything offered seems very complete and having my file backed up automatically makes it a very efficient software.

I have used it both for work and in my academic life and it is very effective

Commentaires : I have created good presentations and I have done a lot of work with the word processor, it is easy to use, I can access it through my email Hotmail, I have been able to chat with my classmates when we are doing a joint work and I always have available my information when I require it, it is very reliable

Avantages :

They have a good word processor, I can export to PDF and Word, I can work offline, I can download the documents I have created and I can see it from other programs such as Google Docs, I can share my documents with other individual users or with user groups assigning certain access permissions to the shared resource, I like the variety of templates and images it brings and I can use emoticons

Inconvénients :

It's a bit slower than other online office suites, but it's fine and the storage capacity is small

Documents everywhere

Avantages :

A notepad or a wordpad is not enough. Now I can take advantage with this text editor, which contains many templates for different types of needs. It is excellent, easy to use and super complete. It is an important complement of the cloud.

Inconvénients :

It is only available while you have Internet access. This is not a complaint, I like it. It is very useful and I feel that many software will go to this type of availability.

Avantages :

Something I like very much, apart from accessibility is the availability of templates. They are completely different and with good designs to develop small arts or attractive documents.

Inconvénients :

I have not yet become completely used to the change but it seems to me that everything is fine with this software at the moment.
