Prism is the hypervisor and hardware management tool of the future

Commentaires : I have more time now to focus on important projects and company initiatives, rather than micro managing our virtual infrastructure.

Avantages :

Prism is feature rich and designed to be simple... and I mean really simple. Gone are the days of requiring extensive hypervisor management knowledge. One of many examples of how it outshines its competition is the ability to upgrade hosts during production without interruption or micromanaging moving VM's around.

Inconvénients :

Its feature rich, but it has a ways to go to get to where some of its competitors are. It's getting there... their feature road map includes many of the advanced features you may be familiar with other products, such as DR failover planning, but they are not yet here today.

A very viable alternative to 3-Tier Hosting

Commentaires : The ease of monitoring and maintaining your VM Environment has been greatly reduced with the use of Nutanix Prism. Whether you still use vmWare or thier built in product Acropolis to host VMs, if you can handle the price tag, it is well worth the investment.

Avantages :

It comes in a box ready to go. If you need to add capacity, you just add boxes. The software gives so many reports and options that someone in the vmware world would do a task and say to themselves "theres no way that is all I have to do to make that happen". But yes it is. So intuitive and clearly made by people who have to manage a VM Environment themselves.

Inconvénients :

There was a major stumbling block rolling it out, sufice to say they keep several network subnets as built it and we were unlucky enough to use one of them. Support worked around it, but it was a major headache.

High performance storage system

Commentaires : Overall for the cost we have paid for this software is worth, because comparitivly this is cheaper than it's competitors.

Avantages :

flexibility & scalability , high performance , resilency features are the most likable. The way how it shows to the hypervisor as a central storage but the data is stores locally so the response time is much faster.

Inconvénients :

Few bugs like oplog issue & some others made this software to think it can be improved.

Excellent Virtualization Platform

Avantages :

Basically, what we really like about Nutanix is that we can make sure that our infrastructure is running in a high availability platform. Additional to that, we are able to upgrade VMs without an outage. Moreover, features like DRP are embedded

Inconvénients :

Unfortunately, Nutanix by design is not supporting external devices like a Storage for Fiber channel.

Nutanix the wonderful monster

Commentaires : Easy to use and work on the device which simplifies lots of work and helps to easy way to upgrade the AOS, AHV in a rolling fashion without any downtime for the user VM's. And Nutanix helps to remove all legacy hardware and consolidate all servers in a cluster with 2U of rack space.

Avantages :

The HCI is the best and pioneer in the market with its native AHV. It's a wonderful, simplified, converged device. Easy to use and understand and deploy very quickly. And the prism console give a simple GUI console to monitor the entire hardware infra of storage, network and compute as well as the Client VMs.

Inconvénients :

Nothing to like the least. I like all features and its a wonderful beast with its AHV and AOS beauty.

Nutanix, Function not lost with form

Commentaires : The entire business has moved from a HPE solution to a Nutanix solution. The Prism interface is still easier to use then the rest of the competitors. Over all this software has been extremely reliable, and the support has been phenomenal.

Avantages :

Nutanix Prism interface, has nearly everything you need to manage your storage cluster. It allows for monitoring, configuration and maintenance in such an easy way directly in the GUI. It is easier to use the the major competitors, while not losing any of its function. It is an extremely functional and well laid out interface.

Inconvénients :

Of the mark, Prism can be abit daunting to the un-initiated. It is very forgiving but until you get practice with it some of the processes will seem as though they are missing or do not function properly, while in fact most of the time you will be looking in the wrong stop or using the wrong tool.

Great product for Managing your Virtual Environment

Commentaires : PRISM has very complete data dashboards to have a better visualization of the cluster. PRISM helps you check the health status of the cluster with a click where it tells you the steps to follow to correct warnings or problems that arise. You also have access to the administration of virtual machines, hardware, alerts, as well as the network and backups. In general, it is a very complete tool.

Avantages :

It is very easy to have a global view of the virtual infrastructure, with dashboards that are constantly updated, in addition to being able to manage the entire virtual environment from a single console.

Inconvénients :

Nutanix Is not compatible with versions of Windows Server 2003 or earlier that sometimes are used for older software, so we can't have them in Nutanix and they can't be monitored with PRISM.

Prism is great!!! Simplify infrastructure management

Avantages :

Excellent for managing updates across the platform, updates are quickly, Excellent technical support.

Inconvénients :

High cost, is very very expensive that is the only main drawback to make it an excellent product!!!

Detailed analysis of your virtual environment!

Avantages :

It gives very detailed information about your virtual infrastructure.

Inconvénients :

I did not find any negative side so far actually.

Overall it is complex but does not take long for an IT person to catch on to the madness

Commentaires : Great analysis of virtualized environment and easy management of VMs.

Avantages :

The analysis is incredibly in depth and the management VMs and nodes is as easy as it needs to be. Going from VMware to this is a simple jump and the hardware makes it worth while.

Inconvénients :

The alarms are a little goofy when you are have 2 different hypervisors. Licensing is also a bit goofy for specific environments.

Management through a Single console which also has redundancy

Commentaires : Ease of management and seamless upgrades

Avantages :

Ease of Use and the simplicity incorporates all major functionality from Hypervisor and VM management to Data protection with NearDR

Inconvénients :

Few advance Features are not yet available through Prism console like VM Migration, Fault Tolerant VM, Physical-To-Virtual Migration, Etc.

Better than Excel!

Avantages :

The templates are perfectly set up for direct import of data from analysis software.

Inconvénients :

There is little to no room for aesthetic modifications.

Prism makes life a lot easier. Everything in one place. Very easy to get around and find things.

Avantages :

Having all information from reports in one place. One look glance to see my health status. Makes my over all job so much easier.

Inconvénients :

The graphs could use over hauling to look a little nicer. The graphs need some sprucing up. They lack luster.

A lifesaver!

Commentaires : My husband and I both use Prism for our bill pay. It is friendly to use on both Apple and Samsung phones, splitting bills has never been easier. Since we started using Prism, we have never been late on paying a bill and have saved so much money not paying late fees! An absolute game changer for those of us who struggle with adulting!

Avantages :

Easy to use, helpful reminders, helps us stay on top of bills

Inconvénients :

There is nothing I didn’t like about this!
