I can't stop recommending Webflow to everyone

Avantages :

As a small business, it's not uncommon to be the one wearing all of the hats in your business. I'm a photographer and I've designed websites for myself through Wix, 22slides, 4ormat, Squarespace, Wordpress, Virb and finally... Webflow. I'm not exaggerating when I say Webflow is the holy grail of customizability and ease of use. For the past 10 years, I've hated doing website updates or overhauls. Now, I look forward to creating websites in Webflow. Using Webflow inspired the confidence to design more websites for fun, including one for a personal project! They all look beautiful.

Inconvénients :

This honestly may be something I haven't figured out yet, but I don't think you can use animations within CMS pages.

Webflow is powerful software

Commentaires : Webflow allows us to have a really sophisticated website without a staff of web developers.

Avantages :

Webflow has everything we need to build our 100-page website that includes news, donation pages, staff contact info, descriptions of twenty programs, event descriptions and registration pages, document repositories for our board members, and everything else. The software is continuously updated, so even though parts of the site are five years old, we always have the tools to keep the site looking current. The tutorial videos are engaging, and the customer service is excellent.

Inconvénients :

This is really powerful software that would be put to best use by a staff trained in web building. We are not that staff. We are people trained in telling stories with words and pictures who need to put our stories on the internet. For us, the learning curve has been very steep, even though the Webflow learning resources are excellent. But that's the trade-off we've made in order to have this tool that let's use do anything we can think of doing.

Webflow - Great for Advanced Users

Commentaires : Overall, despite Webflow's high cost, I believe it's a great option for relatively simple websites that aren't too large. If you want to create a large blog or news site, I would suggest Wordpress because you won't have to pay for your site scaling as you would in Webflow. Webflow's editor is not very scaleable, but the things you can accomplish with it are pretty advanced if you work hard (for example, I made a tabs section where the tabs were custom SVG shapes - I would not know how to do this in Wordpress). It's by far the most customizable web builder out there. So, if you have a good understanding of HTML and CSS and can translate that to at least figure out Javascript well enough, and if you want to create sites with a wow factor, I recommend Webflow.

Webflow is great for advanced web developers who understand coding on a deep level. Even though they market it as a no code solution, having a deep understanding of coding makes navigating the user interface so much easier and decreases the time required to learn the platform. It has a massive repository of paid templates that are amazing and free cloneables that can be copied and pasted onto your site which are equally amazing. These options can significantly cut development time. Also, Webflow makes it easy to use advanced CSS options like CSS flex or grid. Overall, there's a lot to like about Webflow.

Inconvénients :

Webflow is very expensive compared to Wordpress and page builders on Wordpress because the costs are often more than you expected. If you are a business who wants to have a blog or news section, you'll likely need to pay for their Business plan AND a CMS plan to be able to have the ability to make blog page templates and store blog article content. There are limits to the CMS items you can store, and Webflow will increase pricing tiers on their plans based on large volumes of traffic, so it is definitely one of the most expensive platforms I've seen. It is not a good option for small businesses. Also, there is a very steep learning curve to using Webflow, but that is mitigated by the excellent learning courses they provide.

While there is some recognizable learning curve, the available learning materials are among the best available elsewhere on the web. Getting customers to adopt a "new" service they know little about is my biggest issue. Customers are often hesitant to commit to Webflow due to their lack of familiarity with the service. While the benefits usually speak for themselves, more resources to help convert customers would be welcome.

Commentaires : I can build websites considerably faster with Webflow than I could with conventional development. I can use a single platform to publish a site, integrate CMS components, and add animations.

Avantages :

I'm delighted to design websites again thanks to Webflow. There is a slight learning curve, but once you get used to it, it becomes extremely natural and they do a great job with teaching. They are all supporters of the no-code movement, which improves speed and design by enabling the creation of amazing online experiences with little to no need for customised html, css, and javascript. The personnel is also fantastic; the purchasing process was among the finest I have ever experienced, and the installation team and success team have been very supportive throughout the entirety of our relationship.

Inconvénients :

The platform's inability to allow for co-editing was the most frustrating issue, but it has been fixed as of last week. The time it takes to publish the site is now the most aggravating aspect, but I have no doubt that the team will quickly fix this issue given how excellent they are at listening to customer input.

My Webflow Review

Avantages :

Its pre-built templates offer a tremendous amount of freedom to customize them to fit my brand identity. Whether it is the layout, colour scheme, fonts, or other design elements - I have complete control over them and create a website that is truly unique. The templates are designed with responsiveness in mind, optimizing them for mobile and tablet devices. Such optimization is absolutely necessary today, as a greater proportion of people are accessing websites from their mobile phones and tablets.

Inconvénients :

I don’t like the compatibility issues it has with other software and systems. If the software is not compatible with other tools or operating systems, it can be frustrating for users who need to integrate it into their workflow. Also, I think the software is expensive, especially if they are on a tight budget or have limited funds for software purchases.

Webflow is the Future of Website Design

Commentaires : Webflow has been an incredible experience for me. I've built half a dozen websites in Webflow with plans for more. I can't recommend this platform enough!

Webflow is a solid website design platform. Every site I've built on Webflow has been incredibly fast. I attest this to the fact that when you drag and drop the widgets (text blocks, headings, sections, images, etc.) into the design that the right panel is helping you configure all of the CSS in a way that actually helps you [secretly] understand CSS better while making it SUPER easy to do. Generally, you won't have to worry about third-party plugins or anything like that with a Webflow site like you would with WordPress. That's because you can't "install" a plugin on Webflow the way that you would with WordPress. You can add custom code to the site and integrate third-party tools that way, but depending on your level of comfort with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, you may not ever need a third-party tool with Webflow.

Inconvénients :

The widgets that you can add are very basic. I understand the point of this; they're giving you basic building blocks of a website in a sense. It's up to your creativity and skill to be able to design a site that looks great. This does make it harder for people coming from WordPress page builders like Elementor, Beaver Builder, Oxygen, etc., when you open Webflow's Designer for the first time and feel like all of the options you had in the past are missing. Knowing that you *can* build something as complex using these basic building blocks can be overwhelming when you aren't used to doing it this way, but looking through the templates and even purchasing a premium Webflow template can often get you all of the building blocks you were looking for.

Incredible Creativity Flexibility And Potential

Commentaires : My overall experience with Webflow has been nothing short of spectacular. The seamless integration of a no-code interface and the way Webflow writes code in the background is honestly a game changer for me. As a result of my limited coding ability, I was over-reliant on WordPress themes in the past but I would always need additional plugins to bring my ideas to life. As such my website would become increasingly bloated. Not having to worry about any of these issues is truly liberating and I honestly couldn't be happier with my decision to transition to Webflow.

Avantages :

Webflow provides an incredible no-code user experience that has completely elevated my workflow! Everything is incredible well designed and implemented - from the WYSIWYG editor, to the fantastic Webflow University and the seamless deployment of code as you bring your website to life. Creating, maintaining and evolving my website/blog has never been more enjoyable and I finally feel as though I have total creative freedom! I recommend Webflow unreservedly.

Inconvénients :

Having used Webflow for the better part of the year, I can honestly say that I don't have any major concerns with Webflow. There are many website developers who undoubtedly require deeper functionality but I've not run into any issues that have prevented me from realising the goals for my website. Webflow is a fantastic tool and I'm honestly excited to see how they continue to grow and evolve the platform.

Great for clients to self manage

Webflow is pretty amazing. I believe this is the best platform I've come across for building a website for a client to self manage. You can build on a developer end and have them make edits on the client/editor side. I really like the collection building on the back end.

Inconvénients :

I didn't love that you can't chose different captcha options or change the size of it. Also, the editing options are sometimes limited when setting up a blog.

Webflow is one of the best website designing tools on the market. Its ability to enable founders to design great front-facing websites is nothing short of spectacular! An excellent tool that enables designers to build fantastic websites!

Inconvénients :

Webflow lacks in its ability to support core e-commerce functions. Its ability to enable users to design great websites puts platforms like Wix and Magento to shame but its ability to enable worldwide selling still has a long way to come. I also felt a disconnect between Webflow's website design tools and its hosting functions. Shopify and Krepling boast better functions in this arena. That being said nothing comes close to Webflow in terms of designing great websites!

Easy Website Creation Tool that allows complete customization.

Commentaires : Extremely positive. I've built a number of websites at this point, both for business and personal use, and they look so much better than anything on Squarespace and Wix.

Avantages :

The ability to create and complete customize a website pretty simply is the best part. I've used other "no-coding" website tools in the past and would get so frustrated because I wouldn't be able to edit key parts of the design with out diving into the muddy code. Webflow allows you to have all the customization you'd find if building your website from scratch without all the coding. As a designer, who can code but prefers not to, Webflow is my preferred spot for building any website.

Inconvénients :

Some of the tools are hard to find. I've accidentally clicked things in the past and spent hours figuring out where I need to click to fix things. Finding solutions is also difficult at times. The forums aren't as extensive as other softwares that I've used.

Powerful Website Builder for Developers

Commentaires : Overall Webflow has made building my own company website a blast and allowed me to focus more on the design aspect without hindering me from truely utilizing the capabilities of modern web technologies. Therefore I can, even if slightly expensive, hole heartedly recommend Webflow.
Especially Webflows animations editor truely made developing an eyes catching webpage easy.

Webflow truely empowers its user to build a website completely from scratch making (almost all) features writing a website by hand accessible. It also does not overcomplicate things - therefore striking a great balance between abstracting away the technical details but making them accesible without limiting the user. Furthermore it's SEO Optimization features really makes being found on modern search engines easy. The great performance of Webflow pages also helps with that and leads to a great user experience.

Inconvénients :

I honestly do not have many gripes with Webflow, apart from missing some minor CSS properties (however this can be fixed by adding custom CSS styles) and it being somewhat expensive - however great quality software also has its price of course.

A Superb All-In-One Service For Design, Hosting, Blogging and E-Commerce

Commentaires : My creativity is off the charts. Yes, seriously. I no longer feel limited in my designs and that's worth every penny they charge, and for all they offer in their paid plans - it's a no brainer.

Oh my, where to start! I've been a designer for over 12 years and I've been looking for a more intuitive way of design and expressing my creativity online. I've mostly used Wordpress but was getting tired of the same 'ol, same 'ol, if you will. Websites were all starting to look the same, in other words... boring. I came across Webflow a couple months ago and let's just say, I'm in total love! I'm not quite a developer yet so having software like Webflow gives me the freedom and flexibility to still be creative and push out hyper-functional websites that actually work and look good. The code is super clean and export-able, sites are responsive - with the ability to manage/rearrange/save content for each device - and customization is top notch. Their video tutorials (and PixelGeek on YouTube - he's the coolest!) and knowledge center offer in-depth guidance and help, which is a blessing. I also appreciate the fact that I can host with Webflow as well. At this point in my career, I want everything as streamlined as possible and Webflow makes it easy and secure.

Inconvénients :

The free plan is limited but understandbly so. It's not for the faint of heart either. You have to want to learn a new method and process in order to make it work for you, especially if you're not much of a developer or deep digger (as I call it) of code. Their pricing, while very much worth it, needs an overhaul from their marketing department. It's difficult to understand what's needed. For instance, you need a Site plan as well as an Account plan, but that's not made very clear. I actually had to find the answer in their forum. For instance, if you want to host/create/manage 3 websites, you'll need 1 Account plan and 3 site plans.

Why Webflow is one of the best tools for fast web prototyping and landing pages

For me, it is definitely the number one choice for web prototyping because I can build a great responsive website in hours and share the link with somebody else.

Modifications on one screen size are spread across all different sizes. It has this great feature that allows you to reuse UI components across the entire project just by setting the same name for the components. UI components can also have multiple names and inherit multiple behaviors from different components. The code is totally transparent to the user: the user works just with visual elements and Webflow generates code in the back. It is a great tool for prototyping web pages: you can have your project published for free on a subdomain of Webflow just by clicking a button. It has a wide variety of predefined themes you can choose from. It is great for landing pages: it has lots of SEO features built right into it if you decided to host your website on their servers.

Inconvénients :

It is hard to collaborate as a team on a shared project. Copying and sharing work between different projects is sometimes painful. The price of hosting the website is relatively high comparing to the industry standard, but you can always opt in to export the code and host it somewhere else.

It's relatively easy to learn, especially with a very extensive University resource. There is even a great community on the forums, Slack, and Facebook. Webflow's support is always very helpful. They truly put the consumer first.

It is always evolving, but there are specific features I would like to see implemented that I feel are pretty basic in web design.
