#1 User-Friendly EHR Ever Used!

5,0 il y a 3 ans

Commentaires : In my experience of over twenty years using various EHR software platforms, I and can honestly attest that Kareo is by far the most user friendly and comprehensive EHR I have encountered in my professional career. I plan to be a loyal customer for life, thank you, Kareo!

Avantages :

Kareo is; user-friendly for people with little software experience, ready to go with little training, excellent implementation support, good customer service, amazing templates, forms and SALT Feature that cuts time & makes documentation a snap. The formatting/presentation of EHR notes is organized & professional. I love how I can select what information to share and can easily do so through the Care Coordination feature option in each note. I enjoy having all my medical, billing, records, HIPAA approved/secured Telehealth platform, Reputation Watch, client engagment, and much more...all from one vendor! Lastly, Kareo always asks for feedback on how they can improve & additionally demonstrates their value to customer service by providing excellent communication, accountability & follow-through. Kareo offers a superior platform and fair pricing. Highly recommended.

Inconvénients :

I would like to be able to attach documents to the internal email system when communicating with patients.

Commentaires : Overall, our practice has had a pleasant experience. Other than some minor things that could use improvements we are satisfied. We can see that Kareo is working on improvements as they update us monthly.

Avantages :

The software is user friendly. It has been easy for new hires to pick up and all staff in our facility including providers feel it is easy to use. They have made many daily features easily accessible such as ordering labs, sending referrals, sending msgs to patients, and scheduling. They give you updates on any new features added including links to videos on how to use new features. Issues have been minimal but when I do have issues customer support is always more than helpful, and the wait time to talk to a human on the phone is never that long. Overall best software I have had the opportunity to use in my career.

Inconvénients :

The referral loop system could use some upgrading in my opinion. Erx requests section has become a chore. For example, one patient will have 6 medications, and I have to click on each one and deny/approve each one individually, I would like to have the option to select multiple medications for one patient and select the response and submit. Especially when denying the medications, if I am denying one I am denying all, it is time consuming to go through each one. Also, the denial reason section is limited. I wish I could click "other" and have a section to type my response. It is almost always the scenario where the pharmacy is trying to refill and old Rx and a new escript was sent in that they are over looking. I would like to be able to leave a msg for them with the denial. Another minor issue is that when we are gathering patients history we have the option in the chart sections "social history, & medical history" to add "custom items" this section you can add but not delete items.

Ok in the beginning, but disappointed

4,0 le mois dernier Nouveau

Avantages :

It is user friendly and they really lock you in initially with there support staff and training. There pricing is decent, especially if you have a small practice.

Inconvénients :

I was extremely disappointed with Kareo following my "90 day onboarding." As soon as that time period ended, which was right before I opened my practice, they disappear. Initially, they are more then happy to set up meetings and help you thru any issues, but anyone who has ever started there own practice knows you don't really know the issues until you go live. Once we opened, I started having issues prescribing DME, therapy scripts, Imaging scripts, etc... I reached out to my implementation coordinator asking for a "15 min meeting" just to clear up some of my questions. I got a response that basically stated after my 90 days they cant do meetings because they are "too busy." really? My suggestion is that if you choose Kareo you better make sure you know the insides and out before your 90 days. If you have questions after that you will be referred to the help line, just so you all know I put a query in 5 days ago and have yet to receive any help. If you are a small practice that really relies on good customer support, don't listen to the talented sales people, they will leave you without answers and give you a list of videos to watch, because we all have time for that.

Commentaires : Horrible!!! Although this platform looks great and the UI/UX is beautifully crafted, the platform functionality is awful right now. If they can fix the flaws I’ve outlined, they’ll be fine, but they are at least 2 years away from prime time.

Avantages :

I hated every second of it. Terrible product right now. They should spend money on functionality and less on sales and advertising a product that’s not good.

Inconvénients :

SOOO MANY THINGS!1). Help section often highlights the old system and isn’t relevant anymore. That’s like having a car instruction manual for a model from 5 years ago with completely different features. Come on Kareo!2). They always say they will have someone call you back and then nobody does, so you’re stuck. 3). The messaging system isn’t tied to the patients chart. Also, if you have more than 1 practitioners in your office, expect to have to read all of their patient messages too to make sure they aren’t for you…and you can’t delete them from your computer. Everything morning find myself having to read through 100 messages, 3/4 of which aren’t mine. If you ever have to refer back to a message, even though they say you can search, it doesn’t work.

Good for Small Practice

4,0 il y a 2 mois Nouveau

Commentaires : If you understand the software it is great and easy to use. It is not efficient or helpful with high volume. Good for single practitioners seeing between 20-25 patients per day. Would not recommend for practices with more than two practitioners or over 50 patients per day.

Kareo is great complete software for small companies that do not require a lot of customizable options.

Kareo Review

4,0 il y a 2 ans

Commentaires : The support team is usually very helpful. We appreciate the ease of use of the clinical and billing (besides the issues with the medication portal). The only issue we have now Kareo and our other EMR system was having issues working together and getting a issue we were having resolved (its been 2 months). I had to get involved and now it seems as though both parties are working together to resolve our issue we is much appreciated.

Avantages :

Scheduling, Billing and ease of use with the EMR system (except for one issue).

Inconvénients :

Med Portal. Kareo uses a 3rd party at that controls how providers are allowed to send medications. We are a Pain Management Practice and at times need to be able to send pain medications outside the parameters that the Kareo 3rd party sets (1 pain med per 24 hours) this caused us set backs during clinic and we had to change to a different EMR system. We did not want to change but were forced to due to the parameters set by this 3rd party controlling the Medication Portal.

Buggy with no solutions

4,0 il y a 11 mois

Avantages :

Inexpensive and easy to use. We had a staff person who used for a solo practice and was familiar.

Inconvénients :

Features are buggy. Patient messages and communication is hard to use and does not attach to the patient chart, schedule is unwieldy and buggy. You can’t see blocked time in day view. There is also no audit trail for changed appointments. Lastly they fired the sales rep and did not honor his pricing and tried to lock us into a long term contract.

Commentaires : Very poor. This contract will not be renewed, and I’ll be speaking with our original sales rep soon to see what it takes to get out of the contract before it ends. Shame on this company.

Avantages :

Potentially the KPI’s (these are pending, and my hopes are low).

Inconvénients :

The customer service and account management is a joke. Our first success coach had no idea what was going on/what he was doing. It took WEEKS and constant follow-ups on my end to get assigned a new one. Then the same thing with ERA enrollment. I can hardly seem to get an email back from the person in charge of our enrollments. I eventually called and asked to speak with her. I was told she’d call me back later. Two days and 3 follow-up emails later, I miss her “call back” in which she 1) neglects to leave a voicemail and 2) emails back with “I just called you back but no response”, and a one sentence answer to my many questions. Finally, they have changed my login email without my knowledge, wouldn’t help me reset anything or retrieve my account despite having all info and being the admin, and after I got that resolved (on my own), I’m locked out once again because they have changed my password. I highly regret choosing Kareo.

Commentaires : Support has been outstanding. They can be reached within moments. There have not been any systems issues so Support has been used to determine how something functions. Our coach has taught us a lot and continues to reach out to see if we need anything.

Avantages :

The office is using Kareo EHR. The platform is modern and fast. It is available on PC, iPad, and iPhone which allows easy use in and out of the office. Patients like electronic reminders. Since the EMR is working well, my biller will being using Kareo PM shortly.

Inconvénients :

Commentaires : Kareo has made my transition to private practice easier and less stressful. In addition to documentation and billing, there are additional features that have been helpful such as eFax and a provider profile. These saved me the trouble of adding a fax machine or needing to set-up an additional website. I am very happy with Kareo and the support I am receiving.

Avantages :

Eprescribing is virtually unusable and company does not care

1,0 il y a 2 ans

Commentaires : Software looks slick to an administrator but is absolutely frustrating if you are busy and trying to diagnose and prescribe for patients. Get something that does the basics well.

Avantages :

It looks slick in a sales presentation and has numerous features for collecting bills.

Inconvénients :

1. There is no way to refill an eprescription. 2. There is no way to verify whether eprescriptions are received except to call the pharmacy which takes forever. At irregular intervals eprescriptions are not received. Patients are upset. 3. You have to manually enter your NDEAN for every single rx for buprenorphine. This is an incredible waste of time. The company doesn't care. 3. It does absolutely no good to call customer support and tell them there is something wrong with the software. They are not interested. They will tell you you can recommend a "future improvement". I even tried this and never heard back. You are stuck with it. 4. The fonts are designed to look artistic to an administrator but the contrast is low and hard to read (dark grey on light grey) to fonts are large and there is so much unused space you have to frequently switch screens.

Réponse de l'équipe de Kareo

il y a 2 ans

Thanks for the review. Kareo allows refills of standard eRX and EPCS requests. For EPCS requests(Specific to Schedule iii and iv medications only), you can add up to 3 refills when creating the prescription(or up to 90 days of refills). For Schedule i and ii, refills aren't allowed but you're able to set future refill dates the pharmacy will not fill until the specified date. For errors with eRX or EPCS requests, Kareo has a section specifically for send failures under the "Refill Request" section that gives visibility to any problems. While our system does require you enter a NDEAN number when submitting EPCS requests, we are looking to further develop that function and begin participating in the NDEAN waiver program as soon as possible. For font, we use Helvetica, Sans Pro & Arial to provide a professional and easy to read experience with our platform. If text is too large or small, it may be your web browser settings. We will be reaching out to you to go over these concerns. -Kareo

Ease of use, full features

4,5 il y a 9 ans

Avantages :

Having working with various paid and free electronic health record services at various institutions, I came across Kareo while researching for my presentation on mobile technology, cloud computing, and medicine at a national medical conference. The features, intuitive interface, ease of use, and HTML5 programming, which allows cross-platform interface and real-time update speed was remarkable. I've seen institutions spend millions of dollars on electronic health record/ambulatory medical record systems for the physicians' offices. However, the amount of time it takes to get the staff trained, the monthly subscription fees, the lag time for the providers due to complexity of the systems, constant system crashes, and the need to do extensive programming for these paid systems make me wonder why nobody has come up with a free EHR/AMR system that has all the features needed for physicians and mid-level providers without all the hassles. Most EHR/AMR systems are user-friendly for the billers and clerical staff, but not intuitive or user-friendly for the clinic staff and providers. This is not the case with Kareo. Kareo is extremely easy to navigate for any physicians, midlevel providers, and clinic staff. They can get the system running with little or no training because the interface is extremely intuitive and simple with built-in and customizable templates that allow you and your staff to complete intake, history, physical, and charting in minutes. The system has all the features that meet Stage I and II CMS meaningful use and allow your practice to obtain the EHR bonus with ease. Most of all, it is built for both mobile and desktop platforms. My staff and I can access Kareo EHR system with our mobile phone, PDAs, iPads, and Google-based pads with ease. The integrated billing features and electronic prescription features, along with integration with various laboratory and diagnostic test centers make Kareo a complete EHR solution for small to mid-size practices. It is not easy to impress me, having built the entire IT infrastructure myself for my own practice and for several medical practices around the country. Kareo's cloud-based EHR system makes it easy for migration, conversion, and implementation, without having to upgrade to expensive server systems. Any office with a desktop and mobile device can get the system up and running within hours, not days or weeks or months. I am impressed and amazed with all the features within Kareo. I would recommend any office looking to migrate, to convert their existing costly EHR, or to migrate from paper charts to EHR should consider Kareo.

Inconvénients :

It needs a patient health record/portal and automatic appointment reminders to patients via text to mobile phones, e-mails, and letters.

Commentaires : I signed up for Kareo with all the promises that they had given us about the functionality and up until the start date everything seemed fine. After starting it I realized that half the options were not available and my staff could not work with Kareo.
Every single time we called them they referred as to their online videos. Their staff is unable to answer any questions.
I ended up switching back to my old software after 1 day of a clinical mess in my office, and they refused to cancel my subscription. So after I used Kareo only for 1 day and I signed a 1 year contract which they refused to cancel, I ended paying for a year, when i tried to tell them to cancel the automatic yearly renewal, their staff said that I have to call them on 29 April to cancel for 1 May otherwise it will be renewed for another year.
I decided to just pay for the entire year and get them off my back. Very sad.
I usually am not that pained by a Software enough to go and write reviews but I would definitely Suggest everybody keep away from this product.
Their service is the worst ever.

Avantages :

The web based scheduling and the fact that I could switch over after a few days, but that was a farce since there was no real training.

KAREO bankrupt my business

1,0 il y a 3 ans

Commentaires : You cannot prescribe controlled substances. The EHR has not been updated in at least five years. The technology is very old. They only integrate with two major labs. You cannot get anything to integrate with KAREO. The customer service is nonexistent. You might as well not even try

Avantages :

Anything good about this software is overshadowed by the company's policies. The company does not care whether you make money or not. They only care that they get their cut. Do not go with this electronica medical record.

Inconvénients :

KAREO Bankrupt me on one occasion and I almost let them do it a second time. Do not use KAREO. You are putting your business at severe risk of bankruptcy. Absolutely do not let KAREO do your credentialing. It took them 16 months to credential me and I lost $40,000. They did nothing to help.

Hello Randall, Thank you very much for sharing your feedback, as it is very important to us that we understand where we may need to improve. For clarification, the billing issues and any credentialing issues would be best addressed with the entity that was previously providing these services, as they are separate from Kareo. In addition, we would like to mention that our system is able to ePrescribe controlled substances. We also consistently update our software and implement new features to ensure that our providers are able to focus on what is most important: Their patients. We also have a variety of labs that we are able to integrate with and pride ourselves on our customer support team. With that being said, we appreciate that you have taken the time to provide information about your experience with us and will use it to improve going forward. Thank you, Kareo

Things I would like to see

4,0 il y a 3 ans

Commentaires : Overall I think this is a very good platform and very easy to understand.

Avantages :

Karen is a very easy platform to maneuver. I like how you can find you client data with one or two clicks.

Inconvénients :

I would like to see patients that are made inactive be placed in an archive. By looking at names that are no longer a client make it takes longer for me to maneuver through the platform. Also the charge for telemedicine sessions is ridiculous. I have to pay $7.00 per session. Telemedicine is about 80% of my business so I never can budget for Karen it is always a surprise at the end of the month. Also if you put something on a Company Karen account you should have the capability of talking it off. Whenever I log on to my account I have to look at a Doctor who is no longer with my company but for some reason you all cannot take it off. Your company will lock us out of the system without notification, yet our bill never adjust and we have to stop out business. I cannot perform any telemedicine sessions. If we can get a notice so we can inform our patients that would be great especially when we are talking about mental health patient with anger management and PTSD issues. When you turn off notification for a client no one should make contact with them. The telemedicine side say they have to send out three notifications however they sometimes goes out in crazy hours. So when a company turns off notification we should know best.

Terrible Software. Your practice will lose money

1,0 il y a 3 ans

Commentaires : Very disappointed. I don’t know what issues they are having but too frequent problems accessing a software that I may a lot of money for. If you can’t access it then you are not getting what you pay for and it cost you money in the long run

Avantages :

I like that it’s link to the billing software which makes it easier for billing

Inconvénients :

Software frequently crashes, sometimes all day which means you have no access to patient information, cannot check in patients or collect co-pays. Basically you end up rescheduling patients which results in hours of lost work time and staff unable to work. We’ve lost thousands of dollars in revenue because of this faulty, nonfunctional and unreliable Kareo software. And don’t bother trying to call customer support because you will not be able to reach anyone live. You’ll hear the same prerecorded message saying “we are aware of the problem.” There are better and less expensive softwares out there for your practice. Commentaires : Didn't get a chance to use Kareo because of the misrepresentation of information upon signing with the company. We thought we got a trial period in the first two months but later found out we got two months free contingent upon a one year contract. We never transferred data because we found out in the first month that to transfer our data would cost us $1200 or we could manually do it ourselves and they figured the first two months set up would give us time to prepare for this undertaking. When we decided that we didn't want to continue due to the ridiculous amount to transfer data they told us that we would have to pay a termination fee for getting out of the contract early. My challenge is this: why didn't your sell rep say this up front? Why didn't you do a recording for us to say we do understand this is a 1 year contract? or Why not give us something in writing to sign saying this is a 1 year contract." We didn't find this out until after we said we didn't want this program. They are sharks and they will come after you if you decide this. So I tell anyone who wants the fancy bells and whistles of Kareo please confirm if it is indeed a one year contract, how much is the migration of data and what is the termination clause? I was very disappointed in their level of professionalism in this case. They are still trying to charge us and get this...we never used their EHR. We never went live and they want us to pay the termination fee.

Avantages :

Interface is amazing! They also had video tutorials to help you learn about the system. You also would be assigned a success coach to assist during this time as well.

Inconvénients :

The fees to transfer data was too much. They expected us to pay at least $1200 to transfer the demographics.

Knowledgable - Affordable - Reliable - Easy to use - On it

Commentaires : We implemented Kareo into 3 of our behavioral health clinics a few years ago to get rid of paper charts and improve our collection processes. Not only were those 2 goals met, we have seen an increase in patient satisfaction, provider compliance with documentation, and our clinical processes have become streamlined. Kareo has benefited not only our business, but our patients which is our top priority.

Avantages :

Kareo has everything any practice and/or speciality would need from an EHR / PM system. Kareo has a user-friendly scheduling platform that allows office staff to efficiently complete their duties. Our providers have had a positive experience with the clinical platform that allows them to e-prescribe, document effectively, as well as ensure compliance with CMS, MACRA, MIPS, etc. The billing platform is also easy to use, but what I like most is the reporting system. You can literally run a report for anything! Kareo rocks!

Inconvénients :

What is there not to like? Kareo is the only way to go! #teamkareo

Don't even consider using this EHR !!!!!!

Commentaires : While using the software it was just ok; nothing great. After multiple less than satisfactory customer service interactions we decided to switch to another product. We were told $35/month for read only access; which is what we agreed to. The first month the invoice was correct, since then we have been billed for services we haven't asked for, features we have never used, and despite several phone calls we are STILL being billed incorrectly. I am now disputing all the charges with my financial institution and will be contacting the BBB.
You have been warned......do NOT use this EHR !!!

Avantages :

It worked ok. There was nothing special about this software.

Inconvénients :

Customer service was poor at best. Their communication is terrible.

Does better for a medical practice

Commentaires : I love being almost paperless and appreciate being able to upload the papers we have.

Avantages :

I like the dashboard the most. It is easy to read and has a lot of information on each client as well as ability to schedule and take a payment. I also lov ed the drop downs for notes and SALT notes and SALT bills! Th hey save so much time.

Inconvénients :

Billing and notes are not well integrated. I cant keep track of clinician notes, and they keep messing up the bills because there is more than one way to do them and multiple ways to mess them up. It's made for doctors so I can't customize it for my practice. It doesnt include assessments and interventions, good diagnostic assessments, or integrated psychological assessments. I canxt control what forms my clinicians use, and am lost without medical biller. There isn't online signatures for forms either.
