Avantages :

Another benefit is that it emails PDF payslips all at once. Integrates with HMRC for RTI, and also for coding notices which is great.

Inconvénients :

I have been caught out a few times by alterations to the pay of an employee in one month/pay period which do not automatically revert to the stated basic pay the following month.

Best way to do your pay!

Avantages :

BrightPay makes payroll easy and has a really modern look. I can train clients to use this in no time at all.

Inconvénients :

The windows and mac versions of the software differ in a few areas which is a real shame. It looks like this may be addressed soon though!

Avantages :

I love that the software is user friendly and intuitive, with a pleasant looking interface. The customer support has also been fantastic.

Inconvénients :

I would love it to be cloud based (which is in the pipeline), and also more batch processing features.

Very nice app for an employee

Commentaires : Overall I'm very pleased with the app - it is a good solution to the browser portal.

Avantages :

Brings all the functionality of the browser portal into a mobile app. It's much easier to use the app for quick access than to get on a computer to see and use the portal.

Inconvénients :

I have very few issues as an end-user employee. I do have some frustrations over how easily I can change my details, but I understand the importance of have this administrated by senior leadership.

An easy way to payroll, with BrightPay!

Commentaires : Overall, I've tested a lot of payroll software, and BrightPay is the most user-friendly and addresses practically all payroll-related issues.

Avantages :

This program simplifies payroll processing. The UI is simple to use, and entering salary data is a breeze. The program automates regular payrolls by rolling over numbers month after month and generating variation indications.

Inconvénients :

Until you learn how to enter all the necessary information, setting up an employer in the middle of the year might be a bit difficult. Otherwise, it is good.

BrightPay brightens up the payroll process!

Avantages :

The user interface is great and very intuitive, the help/support section is very good in helping you get up to speed with the software.

Inconvénients :

The way you have to download and install a new version each year - other providers keep all of your data in one place.

Brightpay - employee portal winner

Commentaires : Using BrightPay has made running payrolls much easier.

Avantages :

This software makes running a payroll easy. The interface is very user-friendly and inputting pay figures is a cinch. The software takes the legwork out of running regular payrolls by rolling over figures month-to-month and providing variance indicators

Inconvénients :

Setting up employer mid-year can be a little challenging until you understand how to input all the relevant information.

Fantastic payroll software that has thought of everything

Commentaires : Great software and functionality. Very feature rich as well as being easy to use. Good value for money and the support is efficient and thorough, both telephone customer service and support bank of self-help tools.

Avantages :

The auto-enrolment functionality is a dream, making light of the entire process from identifying staging dates, right through to generating enrolment letters for staff. The user interface is simple yet detailed and easy to navigate and customise.

Inconvénients :

I have been caught out a few times by alterations to the pay of an employee in one month/pay period which do not automatically revert to the stated basic pay the following month. It would be better if it did automatically revert or the system prompted you to choose how many periods/months should reflect that change.

Decent technology, customer-focused

Avantages :

I've used this software over two years and while parts of it are clunky, I love the annual updates and ways they continually change the platform to make it user friendly. It really feels like they listen to customer suggestions and make changes. Our employees love the self-serve model whereby they can access all their pay information on their own without going to HR.

Inconvénients :

User customization could use some upgrades. I'd like to be able to change the formatting and most-used columns and set up my dashboard more to my liking. This doesn't mean the software is not usable, it's just a bit clunky and means I do not work as quickly as I'd like.

Avantages :

Nice, simple and easy-to-follow functions. If you're basically a non-technically-minded book-keeper, it keeps everything clear, and if you get it a little wrong at first it's easy to backtrack and put it right.

Inconvénients :

No complaints at all with it, though the automatic enrolment pension requirements did cause a little hiccup, which was probably down to confusion on my part anyway.

Used for payroll with one employee.

Avantages :

Very easy to get to grips with, and does all the work for you! And for a small employer like us with just one employee, it's free. The need to contact support is very rare, as things work so well, but on the one occasion I called for help, they were very supportive and sorted out my question quickly and easily.

Not easy to identify anything that I don't like really.

BRIGHTPAY IS THE RIGHTWAY

Avantages :

Free for small businesses with 3 or less employees. User friendly. Telephone helpline with very knowledgeable assistance when advice required. Also looks as though they have Automatic Pension Enrolment well covered for the future. Easy to print Payslips, email them to employees whether direct from BP or exporting them so you can file them in your own system.

Inconvénients :

Because of the flexible hours I work I would like the helpline to be available for some period of the evenings and week ends

Great software, does everything I want it to.

Just the ease of use. Everything works as it should and is straightforward to follow. Any questions I've had - and that's only a few and normally because I was doing something wrong - have been answered quickly and efficiently

General Overview of my experience with BrightPay

Avantages :

Lovely interface, very easy to navigate, much better than any other system I've used. It's great value for money too.

Inconvénients :

With the exception of one of the rep who helped me with migration, the customer service is appalling. I have only had to contact BrightPay support a few times as the problems have been minimal, but I dread the time when I need to because the conversations are always difficult and the staff are often downright rude. Today I asked if there was a way of updating a certain field across all employees and was told that it needs to be done individually. As I have over 1,000 staff I questioned this and asked if there was a better way since it will be very time consuming. I was told "if there was a better way I would have suggested it". So rude. I find it's better to communicate by email where possible although this can also be challenging depending on who responds.

Small charity payroll processing

Pity there is not a Linux version but at least Apple is supported. I use this software within a VM in Linux.

1. Holiday pay entry. Calculation of pay is manual. Why isn't it number of hours or days or weeks. 2. Payment of one off amount has to be either No of hours or days

Its so easy.. Dont pay for an bureau!

Avantages :

Super easy to use and a very professional looking package. RTI and pension requirements not a problem as all completely automated, Bright Pay does all the hard stuff for you. I still seriously cant believe the annual cost - which is certain other packages monthly license charge!!!

Inconvénients :

The only thing i would like is in 'Additions' for mileage element i would like to put a set unit amount (21ppm) and then on the payslip state how many miles the individual has traveled.

Commentaires : I am 80 years & still running the office for the boys, I hate computers ! but I found it much more user friendly than the Government programme.
However, I have registered with NEST, the one employee, who is eligable. When I click into Enrollment Summary, a message appears saying 'No employees have been enrolled in this scheme'. No contributions have been made. When I click on NEST Schedule, 'Enter manually', I don't know how to. Also, NEST
Reference. Do they mean NEST ID. I have that.
I don't know when I need to start paying. 2 dates have come up, 1st December. 2016, and 31st December, 2016.
I know the amounts, do I need to set up D.Debits from the Business account, for their share ? Also the employees personal bank account, that will make it easier if he changes employment, or will it be deducted from his salary each month.
I hope you can help, I find it quite a headache.

Excellent Software that keeps on improving

Avantages :

Easy to use, powerful and constantly improving, significantly cheaper than Sage. We previously used Sage 50 Payroll and find this software to be significantly easier to use with no real training required to get everything working. All the main features we need are included and they have released newer features such as cloud employee self service in the last year which further improve things. Good support and overall highly recommended.

Inconvénients :

It would be nice to see the software fully in the cloud, but, that is really a wish for the future than a real complaint.

User friendly payroll

Avantages :

It is very easy and quick to use. I am a very small employer. Up to now only 2 employees. It is easier to use than my last payroll but as far as I am aware provides everything I need. I find it easier to understand than my previous one and my version is absolutely free. What more could you want.

Inconvénients :

I have only been using brightpay for 6 months and have not found anything I don't like about it.
