Très bon produit

5,0 il y a 7 mois

Commentaires : Usage quotidien. Pratique. Assez intuitif. Doc en ligne conséquente

Avantages :

Data warehousing and analysis elegant software

5,0 il y a 4 ans

Commentaires : I am working with large databases (several millions of rows with hundreds of columns) almost a year, and I can imagine what I would have done without SAS. It is fast, comprehensive, capacious in comparison with other statistical packages. It handles the data gracefully.

Avantages :

What I like about SAS is that there are no limits - You want to join 20 tables and filter with 10 parameters? - Go ahead! You want to merge, transpose and show the sum of just one parameter? Go ahead! Did not like the interface? Filter out what you need, download it and work in Excel. In SAS working board you can run several projects, save them and open them later. SAS has also other components such as Data Miner, Quality Control etc. when facing different business challenges.

Inconvénients :

Although the interface is user friendly, but if you wish to do the coding, instead of dragging up and down the functions, you will be needing some advanced training. Another con worth mentioning is that when opening Excel database in SAS, the columns should be examined thoroughly, and type and length of the variable must be predetermined, otherwise the work should be done again. To Apple lovers - SAS is not compatible with macOS.

Offers a wide range of tools to analyze statistical analysis like ANOVA, Regression, Correlation.

4,0 il y a 3 ans

Commentaires : Analyzing statistical data including complex breeding trial can be performed in SAS but it is expensive option for many researchers.

Avantages :

The effectiveness of the software is out of question. This is a very effective software for all sort of statistical analysis. Linear mixed modelling, ANOVA, Regression and correlation are done easily and effectively by using several SAS procedure (e.g. Proc GLM, Proc Mixed, Proc Glimixed etc.) It also produces graphs and other visual representations of the output.

Inconvénients :

The lone negative side of this software is that it is very expensive one. Only, institutes with good funds available in hands can have the opportunity to use this exclusive features.

Great analytics but the age shows

3,0 il y a 5 ans

Commentaires : If you're familiar with sql, learning the syntax for sas would not be too hard. However, with the number of versions this software has gone through there are a lot of redundant commands. Different codes that are used in different procedures that do the same thing but the developers never bothered removing the older commands which make it feel clunky.
Nonetheless, a reliable statistical software that is powerful and understandable.

Avantages :

This software is very reliable. There are a lot of analyses that are available in the saved procedures (proc) thus less need for having to code from scratch. They have good graphing options. I find the syntax is intuitive because of the amount of actual english words in it so it, similar to sql

Inconvénients :

Paid software. Overlapping commands that have different codes but do the same thing. If you're used to programming in c, this might feel a bit restrictive because of the existing syntax. If you have questions, your guide will probably come from official documentation only as the community is not very active in online fora.

SAS EG v7.1 is a great data analytics tool with Project files to store process flows

4,0 il y a 5 ans

Commentaires : Overall for Huge data volumes, SAS is one of the best tool for Data Analytics, creating data marts and where specialized layers needs to be build for modelling & statistical usage. Cost needs to be handled carefully.

Avantages :

Great UI to aid non-programmers and ability to slice & dice large data with inbuild query creators makes it easy to use. Macro utility within SAS is a Top feature to deploy recurring codes and everything runs on server data.

Inconvénients :

With advent of new versions, embedding proc import/export with codes is still a challenge, one needs to do it using wizard which is a manual intervention.

Powerful, quick analytics and visualization

5,0 il y a 6 ans

Commentaires : I get easy to present results and well-inderstood visualization graphs. The software is world-class.

Avantages :

I've used SAS for almost 20 years. Recent developments have made the software much more user-friendly.

Inconvénients :

Learning and using SAS still require a heavy investment in time and human capital. Once the investment is made, it's worth the effort, but it's difficult sometimes to gain all the skills required for all of the potential tasks.

Powerful, Supported, Expensive

5,0 il y a 6 ans

Avantages :

Great support, features. Overall, whenever I needed to learn more beyond SAS Base, I was able to use the online documentation to help - and that was superb.

Inconvénients :

It's so dang expensive. If the price could go down just a little, it would make it more profitable in my opinion. Overall, I think a lower price and a bit easier to use language would be nice

Excellent product

5,0 il y a 5 ans

Avantages :

No limitations on the amount of data to manipulate and once you learn how to use it, it’s very simple. It allows you to manipulate data and simplify it for presentation and research purposes. I love making tables and doing frequencies

Inconvénients :

It takes a long time to learn. It’s like a whole different language so patience is needed

SAS is powerful, but complex

5,0 il y a 5 ans

Avantages :

SAS is extremely powerful and able to handle very large datasets. Management of tables and databases are relatively easy to manage and ensure that not all users rewrite tables.

Inconvénients :

The coding for this program is by far the least intuitive language I have learned. That being said, once you understand the basics with a large learning curve, it's not that hard to do pretty much anything you want to do.

SAS opens doors

4,0 il y a 4 ans

Commentaires : SAS has been great because I know I'm getting the correct results.

Avantages :

SAS stat makes it relatively easy to spit out a lot of useful information about your data. Charts, graphs, and summaries come out quickly without much code.

Inconvénients :

There is a steep learning curve and SAS is not a forgiving programming language, so if you don't have experience with SAS, expect to take some time to learn.

Complete Business Intelligence Suite

5,0 il y a 6 ans

Avantages :

I am using SAS since last 8 years and I have used it in DWH using DI studio, SAS EG for reporting and Web Report Studio, SMC etc. I can say it is the best solution of all problems related to data and works perfect. You need to have expertise to work around this but it is not that tough to learn like Java etc.

Inconvénients :

Cost effective and you need to have technical expertise to work around this tool. some functionality are tough to learn and it may take years to be expert on this tool set.

All in one reporting solution

5,0 il y a 4 ans

Commentaires : I have been very much satisfied and the product in all in one software for all my business intelligence requests .

Avantages :

It helps you to build end to end reporting and automate it very easily . You can also do modeling aswell.

Inconvénients :

Cost is a bit on the higher side and also certifications are all to be done going to a center instead of online assessments.

Sas the best software for Research data analysis

5,0 il y a 5 ans

Commentaires : Overally im impressed with SAS.

Avantages :

The software is a wholesome package for data analysis as it gives not only the anovas but also the graphical output which is very ideal when making presentations and when presenting your findings be it in a thesis or for business. Its easy to use since you just need the code to run your specific analysis and you are good to go. It saves you a lot of time in that it works nicely with outputs from other statistical packages when you want to do advanced analysis, there is no or minimal manipulation when you want to run such output using SAS.

Inconvénients :

The fact that it is not a free software, one that you can use without a licence

Love the idea of SAS, but too complicated

5,0 il y a 6 ans

Avantages :

I love that SAS allows highly complex and conservative analyses so I know that my findings are valid and fair; I am always confident that my results can generalize to others because SAS allows more analyses.

Inconvénients :

It really requires a statistician or engineer to be able to use all of its tools, and I am neither, so I rely on SPSS.

Avantages :

The software is a paid one and thus it has a wide amount of tools and support for use, it also has an integration with other tools such as JMP Genomics.

Inconvénients :

The software is aimed mainly at analysis but does not allow you to go for the full extent of developing new techniques for analysis as you can with open programming languages such as R.

The start up tutorial was helpful for those starting from scratch.

3,0 il y a 6 ans

Avantages :

It allows me to display my data in a more powerful way and there are guides on SAS.com to walk you through more in-depth processes.

Inconvénients :

It looks like it was made in 1995. I also had issues with SAS 9.4 being 64-bit. I had to change my code so it would run because of this.

SAS has allowed me to perform functions that used to take hours to do within a matter of minutes.

3,0 il y a 6 ans

Avantages :

SAS takes a bit of time to get comfortable with, but once I gained a base level of competency with the program, I found that each new function was easier to understand / utilize.

Inconvénients :

The SAS coding language is not user-friendly; other statistical programs have more easy-to-understand and intuitive coding language, but lack the functionality and breadth of programming capabilities that SAS has.
