Great SIS

Commentaires : WCA uses Gradelink to connect parents with their child's school experience. Being able to see grades, discipline reports, and upcoming events allow families to gain insight into the school.

Avantages :

Gradelink is a very simple School information System (SIS). As such, the setup time is very fast. The Gradelink support team is very helpful in getting the support that is necessary.

Inconvénients :

Because the SIS is a simple, there are not many additional features. The basic features- gradebook, lesson plans, etc. are accessible. However, the more complex features are not available.

Commentaires : My experience with Gradelink so far has been very good. Something that I really like about this program is the support that I have been receiving when I have a question. Personally, I have worked with [sensitive content hidden] during these two years, he has been an enormous support for me. When I have a question, he supports me too much in solving anything. When I send him an email in less than a few hours, he is replying with a solution. For me this is what I liked the most about using the system since [sensitive content hidden] has been there to help me and has trained me a lot

Avantages :

This is my second year working with Gradelink and so far I am very pleased with how easy this system is to operate. In the past I have worked using Power School and when compared to Gradelink it is extremely easy to use. I recommend it 100

Honestly, so far I have liked everything about the system, the support that one has is excellent. When you have any doubt, you can also go and search in the same system, and you will find the solution easily. I like everything and I'm very happy

Avantages :

I was able to figure out how to use most of the features by watching the training videos. I utilize the solutions homepage often.

Inconvénients :

The ability to pull information out of the database is not as strong as I would like for reporting functions.

Avantages :

The service is easy to use..... If a mistake is made, it is easy to correct. There is no fear of "losing everything", or having to start from scratch. It is well designed to streamline use.

Inconvénients :

There is nothing troublesome with the platform Gradelink.

Inconvénients :

When we used the finance features a few years ago, we didn't like that it allowed people to pay an invoice multiple times since they didn't get any confirmation of payment. Perhaps it has been fixed but I stopped using this feature because it doubled my work with having to do refunds for overpayments.

Good enough but can be better

Commentaires : It is a good system to maintain all database for a school. Not perfect, but good enough I guess. Especially the customer support is excellent. They can always answer my question promptly. I really appreciate that.

Avantages :

1. Student database (grade, attendance, basic info)2. Finance makes it easy to track student's payment.

Inconvénients :

1. We are a weekend Chinese school. Students are assigned to classes based on their level, not age or grade. So it is very inconvenient if Gradelink cannot show the class a student is in.2. There is no "Chinese Name" field in EnrollMe online form, it is extremely inconvenient to input student's Chinese name manually EVERY SCHOOL YEAR.3. The "Assignment" in Gradelink is one-way communication. The teacher can assign homework to students, but there is no way for student to turn in their work. Hence, "Assignment" is not a practical function until student can turn in assignment in Gradelink. (or at least leave a comment)

Great product w/ excellent customer service.

Avantages :

Gradelink has everything you would want from an SIS & more. You will not find a product in this market at a better value. Their customer service is knowledgeable, kind and quick to respond.

Inconvénients :

Their customer service is located on the west coast -- which for us in the east, it means that they are there for you late in the afternoon and evening, after everyone else has gone home.

A Great Way to Keep Track of All School Needs

Avantages :

Gradelink is AWESOME for being able to keep everything all in one place.

Inconvénients :

Sometimes, it's hard to find out how to do things or to find tutorials on your own. We have to contact our rep for help a lot to learn how to do things.

Always Hands-On Support

Avantages :

I love how easy Gradelink is to use and how effective student information is to set up inside the system.

Inconvénients :

I am not a fan of the fact that teachers do not have a text feature as well as I am not a fan of the fact that parents are unable to use the app to re-enroll their students.

Good but could be Better

Commentaires : I like Gradelink. The customers service team is always Very Helpful. They know what they are doing and they know how to explain things so we can understand. Thank you.

Avantages :

I like that there are a lot of functions, and it can be used for many things... for teachers, administration, lunch staff... everyone is working form the same place. We only have to have one program and it works.

Inconvénients :

There are a lot of functions, and a lot of things can be done with one program. :) This program takes some time to get used to. You have to watch ALL the training videos (the videos are good). But there are little things like having to type in the same contact person over and over for different children. There should be an option to add a new person or add an existing person to a pickup list. Also, I don't understand why the online payments don't get posted to the Ledger. If they pay with a credit card online I still have to manually add it to the Ledger so they can see that they paid for tuition. In the program we used last year it showed up automatically. One more thing, when a child is checked in/out or signed in/out for attendance, is there a way for the name of that child to be a different color or something when they are in or out. Sometimes teachers can't remember if a student was checked in or not, so they do it again, but this signs the student out. Then they have to do it again to sign them in again. If there was a way for the students' names to look different (like a different color) when they are signed in then it would be very helpful. Thank you.

School Management Software

Commentaires : We love this software. It is easy for all users to operate.

Avantages :

Gradelink offers schools a complete school and student management system that can be easily custom designed.

Inconvénients :

The only concern is that we are on the East Coast and customer service is on the West Coast.

Does Some Things Really Well

Commentaires : Overall I like GL. Customer Service is very responsive.

Avantages :

It's very easy to get information from GL into Excel where it can be manipulated. GL accepts a lot of information, and it's easy to update.

Inconvénients :

Navigation is really not intuitive. Information is compartmentalized and difficult to access. To change a student's attendance, instead of just looking up the student, I have to go look up the student's homeroom, then go to Attendance and find that homeroom, and change it there. I can't look at all of a student's attendance in Student module--I have to go to Administrator Reports, and do Custom Attendance. Teachers cannot see a lot of the information on a student for no reason that I've been able to discern.

Great overall functionality and ease of use

Commentaires : Gradelink, as a system, meets all of the needs of our institution. It is highly customizable and adaptable. the Mandarin language supports helps our international families as well.

Avantages :

Gradelink is easy to pick up and use on day one. Help and tutorials are available within the program and the support team proactively sends emails telling us how and where to find more help if we need it.

Inconvénients :

It's not 'pretty'. But this is not a feature I was shopping for.

A Very Satisfied Customer!

Commentaires : At this point I am realizing what a blessing Gradelink is for sending grades in to GA Futures! It has taken a while to iron out the problems, and my learning curve has been tough, but when I get it figured out, it will be a blessing and so much faster. Looking around in Gradelink to find answers for my questions has been a helpful experience because I can see so many other things we can work on in Gradelink to make the office work easier! I have always been impressed with Gradelink, and I look forward to learning more!

Avantages :

My favorite things about Gradelink include no more averaging grades at the end of a term, knowing student grades at a glance, not as many parent questions because they can look in Gradelink, fewer upset parents because they can see conduct issues in Gradelink, the ease of printing report cards, the ease of producing transcripts for high school students, and the speed of getting transcripts ready for students who have already graduated. I am really impressed with Gradelink, and I wonder what I did without it all those years when I first started teaching!

Inconvénients :

My least favorite thing about Gradelink is the lesson plan set-up. I tried to use it, but it was difficult if I needed to look at something in the grade section, then tried to transition to the lesson plans again. It was also difficult to go from the actual lesson plans to the homework section.

The Great Lakes CCC operates CERT School which has been a Gradelink customer since CERT School began its participation in the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program several years ago. The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction requested the push-through of Gradelink data that CERT School was unable to expedite. The request extended to prior academic semesters from CERT School, and CERT School received a cautionary warning that its failure to provide the data required by the Wisconsin DPI would jeopardize its continued participation in the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program. CERT School receives per-pupil funding from the Wisconsin DPI, and CERT School’s continued inability to provide the required data to the Wisconsin DPI could have resulted in the future loss of millions of dollars in revenue to CERT School and the Great Lakes CCC.As the Administrator and Principal of CERT School, I trusted [SENSITIVE CONTENT] to find the answer and solve the challenges CERT School was facing relative to the data push-through. Thanks to [SENSITIVE CONTENT], I was able to reach her directly and talk through the challenges and frustrations I and the CERT School staff were encountering with the data. Great Customer Service--Gradelink SIS

Commentaires : I have used this product for over 5 years now, and I recently had my first need arise to speak to someone, again after more than 5 years!! The program is sound and there is very little need for service. However, this past week, I had to contact customer service. I heard from [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] very quickly, and we were able to email back and forth a few times until I had my answer. He was very patient, attentive, and knowledgeable!
Gradelink also has a wonderful online library that is easily accessible via their search engine. It answers most any question you could have!

Avantages :

Gradelink is user-friendly! I can sit with a new teacher for less than an hour and have him or her fully functioning. Also, the support library of articles is extensive and covers many issues that may come up. I have gone there countless times and find exactly what I need.

Inconvénients :

I have not experienced any serious problems with this software. It does exactly what you tell it to do! The only category that I would like to see open up for customization by the user a little more would be the transcripts. There are categories that can be completed for awards and the degree obtained; however, there are other notable items to list on the transcript such as community service hour requirements and things that don't fit in the pre-made categories list. It would be nice to have a place to make additional notations on the transcripts.

User friendly Student Management Software

Commentaires : Overall Gradelink helps us stay on top of our growing student body giving us a central place accessible by everybody with current information. In addition, it helps us provide better communication with our school parents.

Avantages :

I love how easy it is to set up and use. The user interface is very easy to get staff to buy into using. We had tried a different product first and it was just too much for my users. I am very happy with the reliability of Gradelink. We have been using it for a number of years and Gradelink has been down less than 5 times. Ever. Wish I could say the same about our internal network! I am very pleased with support. Everybody is friendly and responsive. Problems large and small have been handled as quickly and painlessly as possible.

Inconvénients :

The stuff that is missing like: historical student census data -- how many in each class last year, 3 years ago? how many re-enrolled this year compared to last three years? etc. seating chart with pictures report different attendance reports (monthly for National School Lunch) more financial report options ability to enter the school calendar and have attendance automatically marked NS for those days. Little stuff that annoys but doesn't really prevent me from accomplishing what I need to.

Using Gradelink

Commentaires : My overall experience has been great, except for their support network. When I get certain people, my help is AMAZING and fast. Recently, I either get no response from Gradelink or, when I do get a response, they don't seem to understand how to fix my problem. It is 50/50 at this point. If Gradelink would have better call support, I would be the happiest customer they have. Gradelink really does a great job.

Avantages :

I love a majority of everything that Gradelink has to offer. Too many wonderful things to mention.

Inconvénients :

Little things like the fact that we are unable to put the student's address on report cards, etc. A lot of little things like that. Those little things seem like they should already be options for the database, but they are not. These little things do not really disappoint me enough to not love Gradelink.

LOVE Gradelink

Commentaires : When I first started with this program 3 years ago from the first consultation until now every treats you with such kindness. I have had to ask questions and no one acts like I should know. They are always trying to make things better. Improving their program constantly, but never overwhelming. This is so easy to setup. Even if you struggle they are there immediately to help. I never have to wait. Thankful for Gradrlink. They have made our SIS program a breeze.

Avantages :

The ease of getting anywhere. It always makes sense. The tabs are very user friendly. Love the news page! Tons of help videos if needed. I feel the cost is more than reasonable. I had researched a while before I found them. The cost anywhere else was too much for a small private school. Gradelink was so helpful even in the financial as I was trying to convince my superiors that this what we needed to do. Now they have an app for our families and students!!!! LOVE. Excited to share.

Inconvénients :

I can't say I have any. I love the app. Hoping the calendar can go on there as well. :-)

We made the switch

Commentaires : Gradelink now has billing and AR add to the program. It's been a tough road for us to learn all the ins and outs of the system, but service is quite helpful. They worked hard with us and we've asked for many updates to their system, and mostly quite cooperative.

Avantages :

We use to use excel for everything. Too easy to lose data, make mistakes, difficult to handle. Gradelink made us organize better. Better looking report cards, better system for keeping medical records, It made us look more like an 'institution'.

Inconvénients :

We expected parents to be able to update on their own, and we'd receive notice of changes. Parents had a little difficulty navigating, as well as us, and they felt the 'change' from just filling out paper forms. Somehow they felt they had to do more, when in reality it is less, more condensed, better for us.

High Praise for Gradelink and the Customer Service Team!

Commentaires : The Customer Support Team is fantastic. They are kind, encouraging, quick to follow up, and responsive to the first order. Being able to have a team at hand when I run into an issue is key and I can always count on them!

Avantages :

I find Gradelink easy to use. I came into the school when the person administering Gradelink had an emergency in her family. I was able to do all of the end of year processes with a little bit of guidance from the Gradelink Customer Service Team. My 'stepping in' became a full-time job with Gradelink Administration being a key component. I love the integration that Gradelink provides for Student Information, Online Enrollment, Website Services, and Payment Solutions.

Inconvénients :

My own lack of knowledge of SIS. Most things are intuitive, but if it's a process I'm not familiar with, I reach out to the Customer Service Team, who are there right away with guidance for me.

Product worth every penny and then some

Avantages :

Gradelink has many benefits for one's education site. Most notable, is the easy interface. Teachers have varied levels of technology awareness and yet training of us for this product is seamless. The program is set up to offer teachers and centralized platforms for the many tasks of teaching, while not adding more time to prep, information input, etc. Furthermore, when working with Gradelink you receive personal customer service. Many of these platforms do not offer that personalized touch in which they understand your school and it's unique characteristics. Gradelink does, and makes it a point to model your product needs in a personalized manner.

Inconvénients :

I do not have a single issue with this software.

Excellent School Information Management

Commentaires : Overall we have had a great relationship with Gradelink. Their customer service is stellar, returning calls in a timely manner with friendly, knowledgeable technical help whenever we need it.

Avantages :

When our school first moved our private school to an on-line management system, I think Gradelink was just getting started. Over the 6 or 7 years we have used the service, we have found it to be an excellent tool for not only recording grades, but for communicating within the organization and managing student information and enrollment/re-enrollments. Staff have found it to be pretty intuitive and easy to use. We've never considered moving to any other management system as this one meets our needs well. They have regularly added new features and made others more efficient.

Inconvénients :

Anything we have thought needed improvement seems to have been improved!
